I went to read this and the file was gone. *POOF*. Just disappeared. So I will not be reading this. I am very disappointed as I have loved this series so far. If a book is not released until February and you go to read it in January, it should not be invalid. IMO, this is NOT okay.

**This was a NG book [original due date 2.1.2022] and I just now found it on Hoopla [as an eBook] to read and review. I was unable to do so originally due to a bad file with no pictures, illustrations and/or text. **
A really fun addition to the Super Potato world. Even with one of the characters being the most obnoxious child since Veruca Salt [Augusta makes Veruca look like the most well-behaved child E V E R :-) ], this was still fun and silly and also teaches some really good lessons.
Filled with ultra bright colorful illustrations, kids will love this one and will want to dive right into book 9 [as there is a slight cliffhanger!].
Thank you to NetGalley, Artur Laperla, Norwyn MacTire - Translator, and Lerner Publishing Group/Graphic Universe for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Super Potato—no, wait. I mean Super Super Potato (since he is still extra buff) is back to save us.
Deep in Richly Tower, where billionaire Mr. Richly has been living in his hot tub on the 199th floor for 12 years, his daughter Augusta lives her rich and spoiled life. So when she learned about the pterosaur, extinct for hundreds of millions of years now, Augusta immediately wanted one for herself.
Mr. Richly tells his butler who tells his assistant who descends deep into the deepest part of Richly Towers to deliver the news to Malicia the Malignant that she is to bring a pterosaur to life for Mr. Richly’s darling princess Augusta. She agrees, saying she will need a pterosaur skeleton, which of course Mr. Richly has in his extensive fossil collection.
That night, in her lab deep in Richly Tower, Malicia creates a pterosaur from the reassembled skeleton. The next morning, Augusta rushes down to see it and is so excited for her new pterosaur. She decides to take it to the roof and watch it fly. Which is a great idea, until it flies off and doesn’t come back.
When the pterosaur starts flying over the city, diving at the citizens just trying to live their lives, Super Super Potato gets the call to restore order. He immediately flies off to stop the pterosaur. However, stopping a pterosaur isn’t quiet as easy as it sounds.
Meanwhile, back at Richly Tower, Augusta is demanding another pterosaur. Since Malicia used the pterosaur skeleton she had already, she has to think fast. But she figures out how to create a robot pterosaur. Augusta is thrilled, and she immediately takes it up to the roof to watch it fly. But again, it flies away, leaving Augusta alone on the roof. She declares that she is bored with pterosaurs and goes back to her room.
But now Super Super Potato isn’t just fighting against a pterosaur that is terrorizing the city. There is also a robot pterosaur on the way, and it’s about to join in the fight. Will Super Super Potato be able to save the city from not one but two pterosaurs?
Super Potato and the Soaring Terror of the Pterosaur is another delightful, colorful addition to the Super Potato series. Author and illustrator Artur Laperla has crafted a series with wit, whimsy, and wonder, along with a potato that can save the world. These books are fun for all ages. The characters are memorable, and the supervillains are diabolical.
I will admit that Super Potato and the Soaring Terror of the Pterosaur was not my favorite in the series so far. For most of the book, I greatly enjoyed the story and had lots of fun. But as the pages went by and we didn’t seem to be getting close to a conclusion, I started to have a sinking feeling. And yep, it’s one of those “To be continued” stories that I have to wait on for the ending. So I do recommend this as a fun read, but know that there is a part of the story that is left hanging until book #9 comes out. I wish this one had a little more Potato and little less pterosaur, but I still enjoyed it. It’s a good addition to the series, and I will be eagerly waiting for the next book to come out.
Egalleys for Super Potato and the Soaring Terror of the Pterosaur were provided by Lerner Publishing Group through NetGalley, with many thanks.
This was a fast, fun read with a silly protagonist, Super Potato. Students who enjoy comedy, adventure, and unique characters will enjoy this book. Middle grades graphic novels are a hot commodity these days, with patrons asking for the latest edition of popular characters. I like to keep a wide variety of comedy, graphic novel, and superhero books in stock. This checks all the boxes!
