A story of love and second chances. This book centers on addiction and shows what happens when someone is dealing with that and how they try to make it right. Chase Wilder is trying to make it right with his family and daughter after suffering from addiction. It is a great book and touches you in ways that you wouldn't imagine. It is deep and close to what some are going through right now. It shows the bad side and how much courage it takes to overcome the addiction.
This tale certainly held my interest. There is romance, suspense and a new beginning for our main characters. My heart hurt and cheered for Chase. He had such an uphill battle but fought with all he had. I look forward to reading the future stories from this series, and this author. (received ARC from NetGalley for honest review)
Great addition to the Wldes of Montana series. Shelby has always been more the mother to her little sister than their own mother was. Shelby is a strong ass kicking woman who hides her real feelings. She has always liked Chase - but does not like the way he is always by the book in his views about her. Shelby feels she must rescue her sister from her brut of a boyfriend, Chase has been known to have given Shelby a few speeding tickets - after giving her several verbal warnings.
This story has a lot of Domestic Violence undertones and can be triggering for someone going through their own battle with Domestic Violence. It is a great story and shows the strengths / drive of what a woman will reach to keep her family safe and the men who back them up.
Great second chance at love romance! Chase and Shelby's love story is full of romance but also grit and determination to overcome obstacles. I really enjoyed it and am looking forward to the next book in the series!
I was so surprised when I started this story that I recognized hero, because to be honest it didn’t register for me when I read the blurb just who this was about, but I am thrilled that I do to read Chase’s story. I have been a fan of Jennifer Ryan a while now, especially her cowboy stories, but it is important to note that none of her stories are easy and sweet, all of them delve into some dark and deep issues for her characters and came cause some tears and trauma for readers that have experienced similar issues. Chase’s story is one that focuses largely on addiction and PSS in soldiers, but there are also touches of family abandonment and a few other issues that so many people can relate to these days. Ryan has never been one to shy away from the serious and dark, and this story is no exception to that. Chase has finally gotten his second chance at life, after almost losing said life when he tried to save his friend who was murdered, but now he has to contend with his past mistakes and find a way to prove to his ex-wife that he is a good man and worthy of being in her and her daughter’s lives. Shelby has always felt a connection to Chase, even though they never planned to have a relationship, but being the mother of his child she knows that she wants to offer him the support he needs to stay sober and be a father to their girl. But the more time they spend together, the more Chase gets to know the woman that has subtly owned him for years, the deeper their connection goes, leaving them both open to the pain of the relationship going south. They have to find a way to overcome the past that still haunts them both in order to have a chance at a future and build the family they both want with their daughter. I loved Chase, from the very beginning he was just such a great guy, even though he was obviously a little broken and had a lot to work through. He risked so much for those he considered under his care in the military and then for his friend, which left him with so much damage emotionally he had to work through in order to maintain his sobriety, but his determination to put in the effort in order to be there for Shelby and their girl showed the kind of man he is. His sweetness and love for his girls made him well-rounded and I loved seeing that, even the times he was confronting his brothers and Dad were good because you could just imagine the weight lifting from his heart as he finally made them see the way they had treated him and the feelings it left him with. Shelby was great, the most supportive and loving heroine I have read in ages and I just loved getting to see her in action. From the very beginning you could see she was dedicated to helping Chase in every way to heal and find his way back to the light, not for any personal gain but just because she had feelings for him and wanted him to be healthy for himself and their daughter. She was sassy, loving, smart, and sweet but her bravery and devotion were what made her my favorite Ryan leading female to date. I loved watching her in action as she worked to defat all of Chase’s demons and in the process found her own healing with issues as she fell in love more in love with him. The passion between these two was there, just a slow burn beneath all their denials and obviously one that will burn for a long time as their relationship lasts the ages. I am dying to read what comes next in this story as these brothers seem to have some serious emotional hang-ups and watching those types of guys fall in love is always the most fun. Jennifer Ryan has struck gold with her new series for sure.
In this story, Chase Wilde is leaving a rehab unit where he almost died after giving someone CPR after they OD on fentanyl he ended up getting it through exposure from that person. He is still dealing with his injuries from the war as well.
Wondering who if anyone will be there to pick him up the one person he is surprised to see is Shelby, the woman he loves and is also the mother of their little girl. She is happy to see him as well but does not want to get her hopes up. As they head back to the town she tells him her rules so he can see their daughter, he agrees with everything.
Driving into a ranch he is surprised to find out that she bought it for him with the money he kept sending, he is also not happy that his father and brothers are there. They are still mad at him for taking their mother from Montana to the ocean so she could pass away from cancer.
There are a lot of emotions going on in this book one thing is for sure he loves his little girl and Shelby. But with all of the good that is going on slowly a dark person from Shelby’s past is making things difficult for and is threatening their peace. See what happens in this very good story with very good characters. Very much worth the read.

What a great story. I love a happily ever after and this book sure did deliver.
A wonderful read about family and change. So artfully wrote and I'm sure many can relate to this story. I can't wait to see what is next in this series
Dance with danger while falling in love with this edge of your seat thrill ride. Ryan turns a heartbreaker into a breath taker. Chase Wilde Comes Home dares to break the heart wide open while stirring up more than a few goosebumps along the way.
This is more former military than a normal full on cowboy romance, it has a little ranch setting but it really forces on Chase coming home from war- wounded physically and mentally. It also has him coming out of rehab and supporting his one night stand- Shelby and the little girl she had while he was gone. This has a lot going on with this story line but also with Shelby's past coming back to impact them. Also has a little romance suspense with it. We get family coming back together and working through past issues/drama.
Overall, enjoyed this but make sure to watch for the TWs. I can't wait for his brothers to get their HEA.

Thanks to Avon for a copy of this book.
This was a deep romance.
Chase Wilde is a father with a rough past that’s fresh out of rehab and wants to make amends for his wrong doings. One in particular is making up for his lack of presence in his daughters life.
Shelby, a single mom of sweet little Eliza who was the result of a one night stand with Chase, is doing her best to raise her daughter while giving Chase time to be around Eliza, if he isn’t drunk.
There is a significant amount of character development and seeing Chase and Shelby come into their own shows us that our past doesn’t define us.
The things I didn’t like is this book starts out quite dark and has many flashbacks that start to get a bit repetitive. The chapters are longer than I prefer for a romance.
Thank you Avon and Harper Voyager as well as NetGalley for this gifted e-ARC for my honest review!
I totally loved Sophie and Chase’s story in Chase Wilde Comes Home by Jennifer Ryan, book one in her Wyoming Wilde series, a story about two broken souls, succeeding after find one another. After being written off by their families and town residents, Chase and Shelby overcame their past, discovered their dreams, and made them happen. Shelby understands Chase like no one else. She truly sees his big heart with how he treats her and his daughter, Eliza; doing what she can to make sure he has a chance of a happy, clean life after going through some of the most difficult years in his life. When danger arrives, threatening Shelby’s safety and their relationship, nothing will stop Chase from protecting his family; keeping his girls safe.
Ms. Ryan wrote a wonderful, heartwarming story with some twists and turns that should definitely not to be missed. She provided a tale rich with sizzling chemistry, clever banter, and endearing characters giving Chase, Shelby and baby Eliza a chance for a loving future together. This was my first book by Ms. Ryan, but will definitely not be my last. I highly recommend Chase Wilde Comes Home to other readers.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
This is a moving and emotional story of a man facing his demons and a woman who loves him, but has never felt that she is good enough for him. Chase Wilder is a familiar character, he was almost killed trying to save Juliana Hollaway's life in the previous Wild Rose series. He's recovered from that accidental overdose but his family doesn't believe that he hasn't relapsed. They also believe that Shelby's daughter Eliza, from the one-night stand he and Shelby had, may not be his, but Chase knows the truth and will do all that is necessary to be the man and father that he needs to be. Shelby and his baby daughter helped keep him sane as he served overseas in the military. Now he is home, a bit broken and suffering from PTSD. Shelby has born the stigma of a family disgrace, feeling unloved and unwanted, except by Chase. When her ex-con father begins stalking her, is he harmless or more dangerous than they believe? A climatic ending to this heartfelt novel.
Chase Wilde Comes Home is a very interesting and original novel. Chase Wilde, with a college degree and an argumentative father, enlists in the Army while leaving behind a business plan to resurrect the family ranch and enlistment bonuses to help make it so. Although the eldest son, he feels a family outsider.
After two tours in Iraq and many injuries, Chase returns home but not to seek out his family but to seek the lovely lady he spent the last night of his last leave with and who is now the mother of his baby girl. Shelby has led a difficult life, few friends, family that shunned her, but yet she persevered. Her biological father was a monster who had kidnapped, held, and raped her mother. Although he was caught, prosecuted, convicted, and sentenced the damage was done and Shelby’s mother’s fragile psyche broke resulting in her own suicide and unsuccessful murder of her child. Her grandparents never moved beyond the loss of their only child and Shelby was always made to feel isolated and alone.
The night Shelby met Chase she was feeling low, but the night they spent together was everything to her. Unbeknownst to Shelby, Chase feels the same and is overjoyed at his daughter’s birth. But due to things that happened before, Chase’s family was not supportive.
With Chase’s many war injuries he ended up prescription drugs dependent when he was discharged. After rehab he returns home with Shelby picking him up to return him to a home she used the excess Chase sent her as child support to purchase.
About the same time her biological father was released from prison and began stalking her. With a dedicated Chase by her side, they face his family and the threats to her together.
This is a very good story of people who may be outside the lines but shouldn’t be fighting against outside forces to build their lives. I very much enjoyed this book and I do recommend it!
Shelby and Chase spent a one night stand together. It was the night before he shipped out overseas. A few months later he gets a letter .Shelby is pregnant , he is going to have a daughter..He knows in his gut that the baby is his and immediately set up support payments.
Shelby kept him in the loop, sending pictures and videos. Discharged and fighting severe PTSD he's in and out of rehab. Finally feeling stable enough he comes back to town. When he left he also had a complicated relationship with his father and his brothers. Shelby's rough upbringing upbringing with several horrifying events that shaped her young years. Can they develop a relationship besides the birth of their daughter? I highly recommend this book. I received this advanced reader edition in exchange for my honest review. Thank you Net Galley, Jennifer Ryan and the Publishers.
This is a Romantic Suspense, and this is the first book in the Wyoming Wilde series. I really loved this book. I love seeing the characters learning to love themselves, and Them overcoming their past. I loved the storyline in this book, and the characters where so well done. The suspense in this book slow grow through out this book which I felt was really well done. I loved the ending so much. There was some twists and turns in this book, but I did guess one of the twists way before it was revealed. I do not think guessing that twists hurt my love of this book. Note: This book covers some topics that could upset some readers, so I would say if you get upset by this you read look into the topics this book as in it before reading it. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Avon) or author (Jennifer Ryan) via NetGalley, so I can give an honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.

Chase and Shelby have a one night stand that results in a baby. He's deployed and comes home hurt. He falls into addiction but gets help. It's a long road and Shelby never gives up on him (unlike his family). They have a long rode with some drama along the way to get to their HEA, but it's a beautiful journey to get there.
What a fantastic start to a new series. This is my first book by Jennifer Ryan, but it won't be my last. Chase Wilde and Shelby Payne both have difficult and tragic pasts to overcome. Chase is coming back home after time in rehab. He left the military wounded, and ended up in rehab. Shelby is the legacy of a horrifying and tragic story who feels like she is always the subject of town whispers and gossip. Her and Chase crossed paths on his last night home before his deployment and their little girl, Eliza, is the result of that night.
Now that Chase is out of the military, out of rehab, he is coming back home and hoping to make things right with Shelby and his daughter. This was such a great book to lose yourself in for a few hours. Chase and Shelby were were both complex characters and the story has a lot of depth as they work through not only their relationship with each other, but their pasts, which also includes both of their "families". I'm hoping that the other books in the series will focus on Chase's siblings. Chase Wilde Comes Home deals with some heavy, dark and tragic topics but it is also a rich, heartfelt small town romance that makes for a satisfying reading experience!
I love this author, and am excited for the new series. This story is pretty heavy and not sunshine and roses. Chase has a lot to deal with and maybe make up for. Shelby is strong. Together they make a great couple. HEA.
A beautifully written love story of two broken souls finding each other and thriving. When their families and town had written them off, Chase and Shelby discovered their dreams and made them happen. We follow the journey of support and the shared love of a little girl that heals them both.
Shelby understands Chase like no one else. She sees his big heart with how he treats her and his daughter, she does what she can to make sure he has a chance. But, are his demons too big? She is not immune to her emotional baggage.
Add a few twists, slow-building suspense, and an ending to warm your heart.
Thank you to NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.
