Stunning collection of poetics that inspire zora neale hurston to the readers mind. Beautifully vivid and heart rendering. I definitely would read this again and again.
This book was amazing, in my personal opinion. I enjoyed every poem, and each poem made me feel /something/, which many poetry collections lack in. Angela Jackson’s writing is impeccable, and I personally believe that this collection could be one of the best of this year. The collection touched on so many topics, in a beautiful, artful way, and in it’s wake painted history in a stunning brush.
Jackson's voice is textured, delicate and distinct; "More Than Meat and Raiment" is definitely one of the best and most empowering poetry collections I read this year.
so sad that i ended this. i wouldn't even dare to rate it less than this since I'm not an expert in poetry, but from what I know, what I just read was beautiful, i marked so many passages and I will for sure re-read this, it was truly beautiful and I hope the author gets the love that they deserve !! "A portion of the Story" and "The Flowering Bamboo" are two of my favorites and I will for sure transcribe them to have them some were in my wall.
