In Sosa’s follow-up to The Worst Best Man, the protagonists are fiercely independent which makes it even more entertaining when they’re forced to fake their relationship. The humor is there, and the plot is fun. Plus, fake relationships and dating usually make me chuckle, and this didn’t disappoint.

When Solange, who is hired to help at a wedding, overhears something the bride says right before the ceremony, she thinks it’s only right to speak up during the service and prevent the groom from a horrible mistake.

From there it goes into a page-turning situation that kept me smiling and wanting more. I was surprised and happy that this romance was more of a slow burn, get-to-know-you, love story.

My Concerns
While this had some fun places and kept my interest, I wish these types of books didn’t feel the need to be so sexually descriptive and suggestive. That was my biggest concern. However, I do know this is what many read romances for. But I’d like a rom-com to be filled with the fun and humor and let things be left to the imagination and happen behind closed doors.

Final Thoughts
If you’re on the hunt for a lighthearted and enjoyable beach read with some steamy scenes, this is a must-read for spring.

My thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ability to read this early release (I’m late posting since it’s available now), and post my thoughts.

This was a fun one! Solange is a teacher who's been roped into helping her wedding planner cousin execute a wedding day. But when Solange overhears the bride confessing her undying love to the best man, she knows she has to step in. She interrupts the wedding and is shocked when the groom is less than crushed. Dean, the groom, is a lawyer who doesn't believe in romance. His aborted wedding was one of compatibility but not love. He's not heartbroken, but he is faced with a new problem: he is tasked with wooing a prospective new partner to his law firm and his boss doesn't think he can do that as a newly single man. So he calls in Solange to act as his fake girlfriend. Who'd have guessed, but the feelings start to fly!

I enjoyed this one, but didn't LOVE it. The chemistry felt a little unnatural, like it needed a bit more of a slow burn. I liked both characters but didn't feel like I really got to know them very well. I wanted to hear more about Dean's pro bono work and Solange's teaching and Brazilian roots. I LOVED Solange's family and all the discussion of delicious sounding Brazilian food.

All in all a solid rom com! Thanks to NetGalley and Harper Collins Avon for providing the free ARC in exchange for an honest review.

In the fake dating troupe, this one hits a home run. Fake dating can be tricky but this one is done so right.
Solange stepped in to help her cousin at the wedding she’s planning and overhears the bride and what is she to do? Stop the wedding, of course!
.
Dean is recovering from the wedding but still focused on making partner. His boss dangles promotion in front of Dean and in a moment of panic Dean claims he’s dating Solange and Dean quickly calls in his IOU.
.
A great secondary cast of characters, especially the Tias, Brandon and Kimberly and Nia, really added to this book. I also loved how close the cousins were in this as they rallied around each other.
.
Thank you @avonbooks and @netgalley for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review

This book was so good. I really enjoyed it. Fake dating and one bed trope! I felt like the chemistry between Solange and Dean was so good. The friendship they developed from the fake dating is something that really had me hooked. I loved the mutual pining between them both. The funny moments in this book were fantastic. Solange crashes a wedding, and then enters into a fake dating agreement with the groom who doesn’t believe in marriage.

Thank you to @avonbooks for providing me with a review copy. I ADORED THIS BOOK SO MUCH.
.
-Fake dating
-laughs
-one bed/ forced proximity scenes
-family shenanigans/ friends meddling
-opposites attract
-mentions of yummy Brazilian food
.
Ok this was an amazing blend of fun and steamy. Dean and Solange are completely opposites. Sean likes structure and likes his life planned out for him meanwhile Solange has a harder time putting down roots. When Dean is about to check off getting married off his list Solange crashes his wedding and stops it! YUP! She stops it!!
.
They end end up fake dating when Dean realizes that he might not be given a task that would help him on his path to possibly becoming a partner at his law firm. THEN not only do they have to fake date in front of his coworker but also her family which include her tias! The tias are epic! The lines between real and fake start being blurred.
.
From being propositioned by a swinger couple to Dean doing Karaoke / dancing to Pony by Ginuwine to them making fake sexy noises to get Solange’s cousin to quiet down her sexy time in the next room, you are entertained from beginning to end! READ THIS!

Have you ever been forced to object to the marriage of two strangers during their wedding?

Solange is left with no choice but to speak up during the wedding ceremony of a man she doesn’t know when she overhears some information from his soon-to-be bride just minutes before, and in a true romantic fashion, she has to let the groom know. The last thing she did expect, though, was to be roped into a fake dating situation in order to help the groom whose wedding she just ruined.

Dean has to act quick and is left with no choice but to lie about being in love with the woman who crashed his wedding when a prime opportunity to make partner at his law firm arises. Besides, the least Solange could do is help him out after the mess she created, right?

The two have very distinct and clear definitions of love. Solange won’t settle for anything less than everything, and Dean would rather get through life without ever falling in love. But the fake dating comes with an ease that scares them both, and they’re forced to recognize there might be something underneath the friendship they’ve created. Is this friendship or is it more? Is it simply a friends with benefits situation or are there real feelings cracking their hard exteriors? They’re convinced it can’t work. Not with Dean vying for partner and Solange’s impending move to a different state for a new job.

It’s a lovely and smart rom-com, filled with sweet moments and hilarious banter. I fell in love with Mia’s portrayal of a loud and loving Brazilian family, and I was so so so excited to get more of that in this book! The family dynamics are to die for, and I will always love the seamlessness of Dean (and Max) fitting into all the chaos of it! It makes my heart scream!! A great second book in a fantastic series, though Max and Lina will always hold a special place in my heart.

A beautiful heartwarming and heart-melting book, everyone should add this to their TBR immediately and get ready to fall in love with Solange and Dean!! It’s an adorable story, and the character conflicts didn’t feel drawn out or unimportant like a lot of character flaws sometimes feel like. I really appreciate Mia’s portrayal of real life issues and character flaws without it seeming pointless to the plot or just to create unnecessary obstacles.

Roped into helping her cousin with a wedding, Solange finds herself in an impossible situation. After walking in on the bride declaring her love for someone other than the groom, Solange can't help keeping her mouth shut when the priest asks, "Does anyone object to this union?" Weeks later, Solange finds herself in need of a fake boyfriend, just as Dean, the groom from the wedding, needs a fake girlfriend. The pair decides to fake a relationship to mutually benefit each other, but when sparks fly, can the polar opposites try love for real?

The Wedding Crasher is absolutely hysterical and filled with witty banter. I listened to most of the book, thanks to Harper Audio, and the dual narrators were fantastic. I could not stop reading, because I wanted to know what this zany pair would get themselves into next. There are some hilarious surprises along the way!

Solange was an amazing heroine. I loved how her Brazilian roots was always present and her huge heart with her students made me love her even more. Solange is a free spirit and she was just the thing to shake up Dean's buttoned up personality. Dean could not have been more opposite of Solange, but I loved how he slowly let down his walls and let go of his "plan" throughout the book. The way he took care of his mom was so heartwarming.

The Wedding Crasher is a steamy, open door fake relationship romance. Thanks to Avon for the gifted ARC!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨

The Wedding Crasher is a funny and light rom-com. I would say it’s a perfect marriage between the comedy of the Unhoneymooners and The Spanish Love Deception vibes.

Dean and Solange meet under unexpected circumstances. Turns out… Solange crashes his wedding and pushes his carefully crafted agenda of checking the marriage box upside down. After overhearing alarming concerns, she couldn't keep quiet and had to speak up... only she does it right in the middle of the ceremony!!!

Fast forward and Dean is asking Solange to play as his fake girlfriend for work benefits in earning a big promotion to which she couldn’t say no as she feels responsible for his current situation. And besides… it’s only for like three dates, right!? 😉 Loved reading how each started to evolve in this fake love approach. Loved the double POV and this allowed me to understand the characters even more.

This funny and steamy book will keep you turning its pages. I laughed so much throughout the book. Loved Solange’s Brazilian family. As a Latina, I identified so much with the family dynamics.

Definitely a fun book to pick up and spend your afternoon reading. Highly recommended!

Story: 2 ⭐️

DNF: This review only reflects the first 28% of the books.

So I loved The Worst Best Man. I gave it 5 stars.

I don’t know what it is about this book but I just cannot get into it. It checks all my boxes on tropes and theme but for some reason I’m just bored out of my mind. The comedy feels forced and cringey. I don’t feel like I’m rooting for the love story. I might come back to it later but it’s just not working for me right now.

Another winning book from Mia Sosa!

Solange is finishing up her time in DC and looking to move on. She's helping at a wedding, encounters an awkward situation and ends up speaking up and stopping the wedding. Dean isn't too sad as he didn't actually love her. Fast forward a few days and Dean and Solange find themselves in a fake relationship to help Dean's career.

Fake relationships are one of my favorite tropes and Sosa did it well. You had the awkward moments, the discussions, the coming through for you attitude. All the things I love. They were so cute with each other and you could see their attraction grow, especially as Solange considered her future employment.

The Wedding Crasher is full of laughs, so many moments made me laugh out loud. Solange's family gets involved and there is a jerky coworker - both of which lead to funny situations.

This was cute.
There was a ton going on, and my investment in the couple kind of waned after a while.
I loved the first book, so I had really high hopes, and this one just didn’t smash it out of the park for me.

I loved this book so much! I adored The Worst Beat Man and never thought it got enough hype.
I was ecstatic when I heard about The Wedding Crasher and Sosa didn’t disappoint! I loved Solange and Dean!

I’d love to be friends with Solange! She was such an amazing, strong and funny character. From the moment she interrupts Dean’s wedding, I was hooked. Fake dating is one of my favorite tropes and this was so well done. As they fake date for Solange’s family and Dean’s law practice, they can’t help but we drawn to each other. Once I started this I couldn’t put it down! I cannot wait for more books by Mia Sosa! I loved this one so much I had to order a physical copy for myself!

Mia Sosa writes such wonderful, heartfelt romances, and the Wedding Crasher was such a good addition to her novels. I laughed out load many times while I was reading this, and the love scenes are swoony. Thank you for this wonderful ARC!

MIA SOSA DOES IT AGAIN! I was so into this story from page one! I love that Dean was the one initiating contact with Solange in the beginning.

I was so happy to read this one after loving The Worst Best Man, which was one of my favorite reads in 2021. The way these two meet is the biggest cringe, and I loved every moment of it. Also, Dean's whole wedding set up and thoughts on life set this up to be one wild ride. Throw in some fake dating and only one bed, well, you can guess how wonderfully entertaining this one was for me! What really kept me in this one was the chemistry between Solange and Dean, the laughs, and the character development. I'm just so happy I got to review this book and I look forward to whatever else Mia Sosa writes in the future!

The Wedding Crasher is the follow up book to The Worst Best Man (love love loves), and Dean, Max’s best friend, is getting married. Or so he thinks.

Dean was one of my favorite characters from the previous book so I was super excited that he was getting his own story line. Enter Solange, one of Lina’s cousins. She’s roped into helping out on Ethan’s big day, and inadvertently ends up interfering. So much so that she stops the wedding.

But, as fate would have it, Solange and Ethan both find themselves in need of a significant other. Ethan to woo a new partner at his work, Solange to cover for a fib her mom told to a snooty relative.

They’re contending with way too many people who can screw everything up. There’s Peter, a snarky sneaky brown noser from Ethan’s job, who is determined to catch them in a lie. I have to admit, without any spoilers that I was pleasantly surprised how that loop was closed. But if I’m keeping a list of book characters I want to throat punch, he’s on it. Then there’s all the various aunts and cousins who can’t lie to save a life.

(*side note, I just started a list of fictional characters I hate. I have a feeling it’s going to be large)

This book hits some of my favorite romance tropes- fake lovers, enemies to lovers, family interference, food and cultural influence.

This book is delightfully funny, steamy hot, and left me a little hungry and looking for a place that sells some Brazilian food. And not just the meat. I’m going to need some of that stuffed breakfast bread and Pao de Queijo ASAP.

And don’t be fooled by the tame cover, be still my heart this book was smokin. But the heat didn’t interfere with the overall story, and this was a slow burn for sure. A rom-com done really really well.

A special thank you to the author @miasosaromance @netgalley and the publishers @avonbooks and @harpervoyagerus for the advanced copy of this ebook!

Mia Sosa does it again with this entertaining romance. I read The Worst Best Man before picking this up and I think I enjoyed this more.

The Wedding Crasher starts off really strong. Solange attends a wedding as an assistant to the makeup artist, and witnesses something that impulses her to speak up as the couple is giving their vows. The wedding is called off and Solange is left wondering if she did the right thing. Dean, the groom, is disappointed and not for the reasons you may think. Dean had his whole life planned out and the wedding being cancelled seems to throw that plan off track. When his boss seems to doubt his abilities because of the wedding cancellation, he tells him he is in love with the woman who crashed his wedding. This sets of the fake dating in motion and we see Solange and Dean go from strangers to friends to something more.

I absolutely adored these characters. They both wanted to be successful and happy in their individual lives and by getting to know each other, their definitions of success changed. I love how naturally they came to have feelings for each other but I wish there was more romance than just the thoughts they had in their mind.

One of the things I didn't enjoy were the pop culture references. This is completely my personal preference, but I did feel as though they take me out of the fictional world, and there were SO many in this book.
After the halfway point, I do feel like the pacing was off. Out of nowhere seemingly, (spoilers) they end up at a se party only to help a family member give birth right after? I had to check if I had skipped some pages.

Overall, I enjoyed it in the way you enjoy super corny rom coms. I will definitely read whatever Mia comes out with next, especially if we get more food references. 3.5 stars

Really interesting book with characters that have you rooting for them to get their happy ending! The chemistry in this book is just amazing and I really enjoyed getting to know these characters.

I was hoping for so much more with this book but I did have a laughing good time.

This story starts off with Solange being practically forced into helping her cousin with last minute things before her clients wedding. While Solange is on the hunt for a broom of all things, she runs into the bride of the wedding have a very intimate and intense conversation with a man that is not the groom. Minutes away from the wedding Solange is trying to figure out if she should tell the groom about his soon to be wife’s affair or if she should confront the bride and call her out on her bs. But is Solange fashion she finally makes up her mind in the middle of the wedding and convinces the bride that isn’t what she wants. Needless to say the wedding doesn’t happen and Solange ends up fake dating the groom.

This book started out so strong for me. I was enjoying seeing their chemistry and banter and love the journey they took to come to their senses and finally be together. But somewhere in the middle of the book it fell short for me. I don’t know what it was but I kept comparing it to the first book and it wasn’t giving to me. Maybe because I read the book while traveling so my interest die while reading it but I will be rereading because for the portion of the book that was good, I was having a great time.

I looooooved this book so much! I knew Mia Sosa was a Latinx author but I did not know this book would have Brazilian rep until I started reading and I LOVED that! Main characters Solange and Dean meet when Solange crashes Dean’s wedding and then the two end up fake dating to help save Dean’s career and make Solange appear as if she’s “settling down” to her cousins. The banter between Dean and Solange was SPECTACULAR and the fake dating shenanigans were surprisingly believable! My only wish is that I had a can of cold guaraná to drink while reading because all the Brazilian food references had my mouth watering. Highly recommend this book!!
