The Wedding Crasher by Mia Sosa was a sweet and fun read. Solange crashes Dean’s wedding and then steps in to fake date him for his job to help him out. Solange and Dean are opposites, but what happens when lines begin to blur when they start spending time together? There was definitely chemistry between them, though theirs was a slow burn romance. They had different goals in life but seemed to be drawn to each other as well. I loved reading about their interactions, family, and friends. Their journey was full of growth, and it was delightful to read.

Happy reading!

Just weeks away from ditching DC for greener pastures, Solange Pereira is roped into helping her wedding planner cousin on a random couple’s big day. It’s an easy gig... until Solange stumbles upon a situation that convinces her the pair isn’t meant to be. What’s a true-blue romantic to do? Crash the wedding, of course. And ensure the unsuspecting groom doesn’t make the biggest mistake of his life.
Dean Chapman had his future all mapped out. He was about to check off “start a family” and on track to “make partner” when his modern day marriage of convenience went up in smoke. Then he learns he might not land an assignment that could be his ticket to a promotion unless he has a significant other and, in a moment of panic, Dean claims to be in love with the woman who crashed his wedding. Oops.
Now Dean has a whole new item on his to-do list: beg Solange to be his pretend girlfriend. Solange feels a tiny bit bad about ruining Dean’s wedding, so she agrees to play along. Yet as they fake-date their way around town, what started as a performance for Dean’s colleagues turns into a connection that neither he nor Solange can deny. Their entire romance is a sham... there’s no way these polar opposites could fall in love for real, right?

MY NEW FAVORITE ROMCOM!!! The chemistry between Dean and Solange radiates off the page. It's equal parts funny, heartwarming and you guessed it spicy. I devoured every second. Mia Sosa can do no wrong and I can't wait to get this in the store and recommend it to everyone with a pulse.

I stayed up late last night finishing this book, which I’ll surely regret later today, but I had to know what was going to happen with these two sweeties! This is my second Mia Sosa book, and I continue to be impressed — there were several times through reading it that I was really surprised, which doesn’t happen a lot with romances (for me), and made this such a treat. Dean and Solange had great chemistry and I loved them individually and together!

Solange Pereira is the kind of character that I love! The one that ends up in the wrong place at the wrong time and says something about it. The one that has an important job and adds value to it.

This book was so great! I love fake dating! They both had to be in a fake dating situation, one due to work and the other for out of town family. Seriously why can't you be single in your late 20s/early 30s? I had my aunt's neighbor say oh right you never married, when I was single. I'm thinking I'm 25 jeez am I a spinster?

After Solange ruined Dean's marriage of convenience plans by crashing his wedding this is the least she can do. Lol they get into some fun shenanigans. Ugh but his toxic work environment is so disheartening.  Though there are so many of those for this to be realistic.

I adore when characters are opposites and have so much chemistry. They usually balance eachother out. When these two were in a #onebed situation things got interesting fast.

I loved her family and how connected they were and involved with eachother.

Thank you avon books for the gifted copy for my honest and voluntary review.

I can say that this book was better than the first book. And that says something because I enjoyed reading the first book in the series. But this book grabbed my attention more. And it has a fake dating romance trope which I love to read so much.

I don’t know how, but I love how independent and determined Solange is as a leading female character. She knows what she wants in life. She has high expectations to meet but no one should ever settle for less. She knows her worth, which we all should know as well. She will just get a doozy when she bonds with Dean.

Dean may be anal about his life but he has his reasons for it. You really can’t blame especially when he is honest about what he expects and wants. It may confuse Solange but she has high expectations as well. You can’t really judge, especially when they need each other.

Their fake dating may be inconvenient at first, but their attraction for each other is off the charts. And it makes total sense since they are the total opposite of each other. Opposite does attract each other.

I received an advanced copy of this book in return for an honest review.

I hate that we can’t give half stars because I would def vote 3.5. Overall I really liked the book. It was an enjoyable read, hit the tropes just right, and provided the lovely escapism that one can get with a good book. It wasn’t mind blowing, or genre bending, but honestly that is totally ok.

I can’t really point to anything super wrong with this book, just there was nothing much above and beyond to warrant a higher rating from me. But again, sometimes something simple is just what you need, so I would not brush this book off.

The two main Characters, Solange and Dean I really liked. I enjoyed the juxtaposition of how they were both lost and in a rut in their lives, and going off the rails due to childhood trauma in the complete opposite manner. Dean desperate to have an ordered life, gets caught in being unsure of why he is doing this, and Solange desperate to not be tied down, also ends up unsure of why she is doing this. It was a good in-depth detail that can really show how these two characters could feasibly connect in such a short period, being drawn to each other because they are, deep down, going through the same thing.

The side characters were fun! I want to read the Author’s previous book, which is also in this universe, which I did not know, because I would love to see more.

Another good thing is, I think the length was very well suited. When I got to the end I wasnt disappointed wanting more, and didn't feel relief of it being finally over.

Over all. Will it define the whole genre? Probably not? Can I easily see it being someone’s favorite book? Yes, because it’s overall not bad. It just didn’t knock my socks, but I definitely would encourage others to read it.

Thank you NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyagers for an ARC! This book was so cute! It was a pretty fast read for me and it uses the fake dating trope. The relationship between the two characters were sweet. Overall a great read and I would definitely recommend to others who like this trope and dual pov!

Sosa's newest romance has a steamy pretend dating scheme at its center, and the build-up in the romance is delightful! I just wish the final conflict hadn't been so rushed.

Thanks to Netgalley and Avon Harper Voyager for the ARC of this!

I was so looking forward to this after liking Worst Best Man and it was so fun! I thought the fake dating was really cute, I loved the family and friends. The romance felt paced perfectly. Definitely recommend if you’re in the mood for a light romance with sweet characters.

I can not give enough praise for The Wedding Crasher!! Mia Sosa has done it again with creating engaging, witty, sexy and charming characters. The Wedding Crasher features characters from Sosa's novel, The Worst Best Man. Taking over as main characters in this book is Solange and Dean. Solange was just doing a favor for her cousin and helping her out at a wedding. When sent on an errand, Solange overhears the bride confess her love to a man that is not her husband to be. Not wanting to get involved, she tries to sneak back into the dressing room and mind her own business. But when she runs into the groom, Dean, all bets are off. Speaking up at the ceremony, Solange confesses what she overheard. Now that the wedding is off, Dean and Solange think they are going to go their own way and never see each other again. But fate has a funny way of bringing two people who are meant to be, together. With characters appearing from The Worst Best Man and the introduction to new characters, this wedding crashed, fake dating, romcom is an absolutely a delight and the spice is just right! Thank you so much Netgalley, Avon and Harper Voyager for an advanced copy in an exchange for an honest review.

This follow up to Worst Best Man follows Solange (cousin of Lina from Worst Best Man) and Dean (best friend of Max. After Solange crashes Dean’s wedding, she thinks that will be the last she’ll see of him…but that’s not how things end up - and the two of them end up fake dating after a last minute lie Dean makes at work.

I love fake dating, and I really enjoyed this book and how much it focused on what Solange and Dean wanted out of their lives, careers, and a relationship. The conflict felt realistic based on their different views on relationships, and the book had a few turns I wasn’t expecting. I also enjoyed seeing some small insights on what Lina and Max’s relationship looked like after the events of Worst Best Man!

Both this and Worst Best Man kept making me hungry at all the food descriptions, and I really want to try some of the food described in this book!

Some of the pacing and plot felt a little all over the place and I think the book could have been a bit longer to give every element the development it deserved - one thing I really wanted to see and didn’t get to was Solange’s students going to see Max in court. When that was discussed in the book I was really excited for that scene, and then when it didn’t get mentioned again I was disappointed.

I hope there will be more books in this romance series, because I’ve enjoyed both of them!

A fun romcom that starts with Solange Pereira standing up during the wedding and convincing the bride to rethink things. Y’know when most people forever hold their peace? Well Solange was like hell nah and spoke the hell up. This is her first time really meeting Dean Chapman, and from there things hit off between them. Despite the failure wedding, Dean isn’t too broken up because the wedding was supposed to be more of a modern day marriage of convenience. He‘s a planner and career driven, and wanted someone who would support his goals and vice versa. When one little lie leads to another, Dean and Solange fake a relationship to help Dean out with his job and then Solange with her family. Things get realer the more time goes on and with different perspectives on relationships, they try not to get to emotionally attached.

I really enjoyed the book! It was fun and it has fake dating and one bed, which are tropes that are always fun. I loved the Tias of course. They are so funny but I really love that they stand behind the importance of family and will do anything for each other. The food of course sounded amazing and had my mouth watering at the descriptions. I need to try Brazilian food. I loved Solange’s roommate Brandon (I hope he gets his own book!). And of Doris’s more than anything I loved Dean and Solange’s relationship. I enjoyed how comfortable they were with each other, and had such fun together but also trusted the other enough it to be vulnerable about things too. The ending was amazing and I enjoyed how things came full circle LOL.

Thank you to NetGalley for sending this ARC. All opinions stated here are my own.

Ok, but where so I even start?!

I was a major fan of the first book in this series (duo?), The Worst Best Man. I honestly wasn't sure if Mia could out-do herself, because honestly, Lina and Max were already damn near perfection.

And yet, I couldn't have been more wrong. Dean and Solange were addicting. Like can't put the book down, read the whole thing in one sitting addicting.

The cute scenes were even cuter and the spice even spicier. The character development and growth were beautiful, and the plot never ran into a boring lull.

I will never again doubt Queen Sosa.

I was fortunate to receive an ARC of The Wedding Crasher, which was a highly anticipated read for me after really enjoying The Worst Best Man. I love the fake dating trope, so that was an added bonus for me!

Solange interrupts Dean’s wedding to stop it, which is just the beginning of the comical but sweet romance. There were quite a few times during my reading where I actually laughed out loud at the circumstances in which the characters found themselves. I felt like this was a page turner that made for a quick read, and I really liked both Dean and Solange and the way their relationship evolved. It had some spicy parts as well, which were well-written, and felt perfectly in balance with the rest of the story. I’ recommend giving this one a read if you enjoyed The Worst Beat Man (and even if you didn’t!). The Wedding Crasher will be available on April 5, so pre-order your copy now!

Thank you so much to @avonbooks and #netgalley for the opportunity to read this ARC. This review is voluntary and all opinions are honest and my own.

Solange is about to move away from the city but before she does, she needs to help her wedding planner cousin with a wedding. But after she hears something, she feels that she cannot remain silent and warns Dean, the groom, of his impending marital mistake. Wedding crashed, wedding canceled.

Now Dean needs Solange to pretend to be his significant other for work purposes, but a pretend romance isn’t what this feels like for either…

I don’t know how I could have loved this book more!

Mia Sosa’s sense of humor was spot on for me and she has written some amazing characters here - Solange was an inspiring and admirable MFC. Dean was a fantastic romantic lead and I adored the two together ❤️

Laugh out loud funny in parts and super sweet in others, I luuuuuurved this book; it was such a fun read.

This was my first book by the author; it absolutely will not be my last. I can’t wait to read more of Ms. Sosa’s books.

Thanks to NetGalley and Avon for providing me with this ARC in exchange for an honest review! I'll be posting this to my Instagram account later this week, on April 8.

The Wedding Crasher is a fun romp of a fake dating romance. When Solange’s wedding planner cousin asks for her last-minute help with a wedding, she hadn’t expected catching the bride in an awkward position. And Dean, a lawyer trying to make partner at his firm, hadn’t expected to be left at the altar. When Dean needs a romantic partner for an assignment that will make or break his promotion at the law firm, it’s only fair that Solange, whose intervention dissolved his perfect marriage, step in to help.
This was one of the best books I’ve read so far this year. The plot was engaging, the writing good, and the characters all loveable. I know that fake dating plots at this point are variations on a theme—what sets a good novel apart are other details, and the author delivered on every one of those. The banter? Witty, charming, funny. The chemistry? Fizzling, believable. The side characters? Well-developed, loving, hilarious, integral to the story. This last detail is particularly important to me. I have a lot of thoughts on what the purpose of a romance is (probably can be dissected somewhere else later), but to me it extends beyond the romance relationship itself and is more about relationships in general. The best romances I read have side characters who do more than just exist—they drive the story forward. They ought to feel as real as the protagonists. I loved the Tias, the cousins, and especially Kimberly and Nia. Another things worth noting is how much personal growth both Solange and Dean went through. A pet peeve of mine is when novels perpetuate this weird heteronormative trope of finding meaning through another person that in real life ends up manifesting as co-dependent relationships—Dean and Solange have each other’s support and love, but ultimately they redefine their lives individually. That, to me, is a beautiful, healthy relationship.
I will say that this book was definitely on the steamier side. While I enjoyed it, if you’re someone who really doesn’t like sex scenes in your romances, this might not be the book for you. And if you’re someone who does enjoy some spice, you’re in for a treat! Sex is a difficult thing to write about well, so I’m very impressed with how Ms. Sosa composed these scenes.
Also, as queer person of color, the respect and authenticity with which queer characters and relationships, especially between people of color, were portrayed, was PHENOMENAL. Representation matters, but good representation matters even more!
Overall, this was a fantastic read. I recommend it to readers who enjoy fake dating, well-fleshed-out side characters, character development, and loads and loads of chemistry both in the bedroom and out of it. I’ll be reading The Worst Best Man very soon, and I can’t wait to see what Mia Sosa writes next!

WOW. So I loved "The Worst Best Man" (#1 in this series) BUT this might be that moment where the sequel surpasses the debut in the series. Granted it has been a while since I read TWBM, but I felt more connected to Solange. I mean, she met Dean by ruining his wedding and having his bride leave him at the altar. Talk about a meet-cute (HA)? The story is set in DC (shout out to the DMV) where Dean and Solange begin a fake-dating scheme for the benefit of Dean making partner at his law firm. Of course, they begin to develop feelings on their social dates and events. I thought Sosa showcased the true rom-com feel with the dual POV and hilarious inner dialogue. I loved the time they spent together and individually. Sosa did a great job with their personal growth and character development. Also, the spice in this one is superb (that party though...LOL). Overall, a great addition to the series and if you haven't read either - highly suggest you do!

So Mia, who is the next book about? I am too invested with the cousins and Tia's.
