Ok, but where so I even start?!

I was a major fan of the first book in this series (duo?), The Worst Best Man. I honestly wasn't sure if Mia could out-do herself, because honestly, Lina and Max were already damn near perfection.

And yet, I couldn't have been more wrong. Dean and Solange were addicting. Like can't put the book down, read the whole thing in one sitting addicting.

The cute scenes were even cuter and the spice even spicier. The character development and growth were beautiful, and the plot never ran into a boring lull.

I will never again doubt Queen Sosa.

I was fortunate to receive an ARC of The Wedding Crasher, which was a highly anticipated read for me after really enjoying The Worst Best Man. I love the fake dating trope, so that was an added bonus for me!

Solange interrupts Dean’s wedding to stop it, which is just the beginning of the comical but sweet romance. There were quite a few times during my reading where I actually laughed out loud at the circumstances in which the characters found themselves. I felt like this was a page turner that made for a quick read, and I really liked both Dean and Solange and the way their relationship evolved. It had some spicy parts as well, which were well-written, and felt perfectly in balance with the rest of the story. I’ recommend giving this one a read if you enjoyed The Worst Beat Man (and even if you didn’t!). The Wedding Crasher will be available on April 5, so pre-order your copy now!

Thank you so much to @avonbooks and #netgalley for the opportunity to read this ARC. This review is voluntary and all opinions are honest and my own.

Solange is about to move away from the city but before she does, she needs to help her wedding planner cousin with a wedding. But after she hears something, she feels that she cannot remain silent and warns Dean, the groom, of his impending marital mistake. Wedding crashed, wedding canceled.

Now Dean needs Solange to pretend to be his significant other for work purposes, but a pretend romance isn’t what this feels like for either…

I don’t know how I could have loved this book more!

Mia Sosa’s sense of humor was spot on for me and she has written some amazing characters here - Solange was an inspiring and admirable MFC. Dean was a fantastic romantic lead and I adored the two together ❤️

Laugh out loud funny in parts and super sweet in others, I luuuuuurved this book; it was such a fun read.

This was my first book by the author; it absolutely will not be my last. I can’t wait to read more of Ms. Sosa’s books.

Thanks to NetGalley and Avon for providing me with this ARC in exchange for an honest review! I'll be posting this to my Instagram account later this week, on April 8.

The Wedding Crasher is a fun romp of a fake dating romance. When Solange’s wedding planner cousin asks for her last-minute help with a wedding, she hadn’t expected catching the bride in an awkward position. And Dean, a lawyer trying to make partner at his firm, hadn’t expected to be left at the altar. When Dean needs a romantic partner for an assignment that will make or break his promotion at the law firm, it’s only fair that Solange, whose intervention dissolved his perfect marriage, step in to help.
This was one of the best books I’ve read so far this year. The plot was engaging, the writing good, and the characters all loveable. I know that fake dating plots at this point are variations on a theme—what sets a good novel apart are other details, and the author delivered on every one of those. The banter? Witty, charming, funny. The chemistry? Fizzling, believable. The side characters? Well-developed, loving, hilarious, integral to the story. This last detail is particularly important to me. I have a lot of thoughts on what the purpose of a romance is (probably can be dissected somewhere else later), but to me it extends beyond the romance relationship itself and is more about relationships in general. The best romances I read have side characters who do more than just exist—they drive the story forward. They ought to feel as real as the protagonists. I loved the Tias, the cousins, and especially Kimberly and Nia. Another things worth noting is how much personal growth both Solange and Dean went through. A pet peeve of mine is when novels perpetuate this weird heteronormative trope of finding meaning through another person that in real life ends up manifesting as co-dependent relationships—Dean and Solange have each other’s support and love, but ultimately they redefine their lives individually. That, to me, is a beautiful, healthy relationship.
I will say that this book was definitely on the steamier side. While I enjoyed it, if you’re someone who really doesn’t like sex scenes in your romances, this might not be the book for you. And if you’re someone who does enjoy some spice, you’re in for a treat! Sex is a difficult thing to write about well, so I’m very impressed with how Ms. Sosa composed these scenes.
Also, as queer person of color, the respect and authenticity with which queer characters and relationships, especially between people of color, were portrayed, was PHENOMENAL. Representation matters, but good representation matters even more!
Overall, this was a fantastic read. I recommend it to readers who enjoy fake dating, well-fleshed-out side characters, character development, and loads and loads of chemistry both in the bedroom and out of it. I’ll be reading The Worst Best Man very soon, and I can’t wait to see what Mia Sosa writes next!

WOW. So I loved "The Worst Best Man" (#1 in this series) BUT this might be that moment where the sequel surpasses the debut in the series. Granted it has been a while since I read TWBM, but I felt more connected to Solange. I mean, she met Dean by ruining his wedding and having his bride leave him at the altar. Talk about a meet-cute (HA)? The story is set in DC (shout out to the DMV) where Dean and Solange begin a fake-dating scheme for the benefit of Dean making partner at his law firm. Of course, they begin to develop feelings on their social dates and events. I thought Sosa showcased the true rom-com feel with the dual POV and hilarious inner dialogue. I loved the time they spent together and individually. Sosa did a great job with their personal growth and character development. Also, the spice in this one is superb (that party though...LOL). Overall, a great addition to the series and if you haven't read either - highly suggest you do!

So Mia, who is the next book about? I am too invested with the cousins and Tia's.

Amusing and sexy fake dating romance!

If you enjoyed the first book in the series, The Worst Best Man, you'll enjoy this book too! Though both are considered standalone. I enjoyed this way more than the previous book. A good dose of hilarious shenanigans for both main characters, Solange and Dean, not only in their personal lives but also in their professional lives.

They have fun wit and believable chemistry. I also really like how they communicate when they started their fake relationship and how they were very adult about it despite the ridiculousness of their situation. Dean is a stoic character while Solange is the opposite at first glance, but once they got to know each other, they have more in common than they thought. It works so well and doesn't feel forced. A credit to Mia Sosa's writing! I admire them with regards to their work as well, because they both genuinely want to help other people and not only try to work their way up.

Also, Solange's family is entertaining, and I'm delighted I got to read about them once again!

Thank you, NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager, for the e-ARC.

The Wedding Crasher is a funny, over-the-top rom-com with well-developed characters and an entertaining yet emotional plot. I was immersed in the story from the beginning, and the fun never stops. Family plays an important role, and I loved the descriptions of Brazilian food. I'm looking forward to more from this author!

This romance was so addicting. It was full of just the right amount of humor and romance that mixed together really well. I am a sucker for the fake dating trope, and this book certainly didn't disappoint. I love how the situation of two strangers having to fake date falls into place. Mia Sosa did so well with keeping me wanting more and more as I kept reading. Thank you NetGalley for an arc of this book.

I really enjoyed this book! This friends to lovers story made me laugh, almost cry and also reminded me how important family is. I love that Dean plans everything while Solange is more free spirited. That made them such a great pair. Going into the book I knew it was going to be a spicy rom com, but I ended up super surprised to learn about their kinks. I thought the story wrapped up very well. One thing I didn't like is a spoiler so I won't mention it!! Mia Sosa is a great author. I recommend reading The Worst Best Man as Well.

Sosa knocked it out of the park with The Wedding Crasher.
I couldn’t stop laughing or smiling. There were so many heartwarming moments too. The characters created an interesting dynamic. Opposites certainly attract here. Solange and Dean were as hot as they were sweet.
This was fast paced and well written too. So many great lines!
Definitely for fans of: opposites attract, just one bed, fake dating and modern romcoms.

I absolutely loved The Worst Best Man so I knew I would be in good hands with this book and it did not disappoint! Solange and Dean’s witty banter was equal parts charming and hilarious. There’s such incredible tension and chemistry between these two and I was really excited about the unexpected spice in this book! This story does overlap with some of the characters from The Best Worst Man so there’s plenty of familiar faces that really solidifies the warm family dynamic in the book. This book is one of the many reasons why rom-coms are so fun and I definitely recommend it!

Synopsis: Roped into helping her wedding planner cousin, Solange accidentally ruins a wedding after overhearing the bride confess her love to another man. Hoping to make partner at his law firm, Dean begs Solange to be his pretend girlfriend to make up for crashing his wedding and to impress a new colleague being headhunted by his company. What starts off as fake dating, quickly become something more, yet Solange and Dean must work past their own reservations on love.

Mia Sosa has done it again! The Wedding Crasher was the perfect addition to the wonderful universe where weddings, Brazilian food, and true love bring people together. This new twist on the classic fake-dating trope was funny, endearing, and exceptionally written. Sosa brilliantly portrays the difficult task most adults face, and that is how we balance family, love, and careers while prioritizing ourselves at the same time. The emphasis on explicit consent in this novel was refreshing, sexy, and completely aided us in being able to better understand our couple.

From start to finish, The Wedding Crasher was relatable in a way that I'm not used to seeing in a lot of popular rom-coms.

I had such a great time reading this novel, and look forward to reading every and anything Mia Sosa publishes in the future!

When I say I laughed out loud reading this, I mean it. Belly. Laughs. My kids yelled down from upstairs, asking me what was so funny. Repeatedly.

The Worst Best Man came out right before Covid shut the entire world down, and I adored Lina and Max’s story so much. But Dean and Solange? Next level love for these two.

TL;DR plot summary: After catching the bride in the stairwell with NOT-the-groom, Solange crashes the wedding, throwing Dean’s meticulously planned life into a tailspin. Needing to impress the partners at his firm, Dean lies and says he has fallen in love with the woman who crashed his wedding, only then he has to convince Solange to go along with this crazy scheme in order to help him land a promotion. She owes him, after all. Fake dating leads to real feelings, but can two very different people possibly build a relationship that will last?

In addition to writing a hilarious, super steamy love story, Sosa has created the warmest, most delightful extended family I’ve met in a long time. The tias, the cousins, the drama, the Brazilian food—I wish I could be adopted into their village. And she had my mouth watering for a garlicky, buttery sanduíche.

If you love steamy romances that dip a toe into the taboo (just a teeny tiny bit), this one needs to be on your TBR. (I don’t know what it is with me and unwittingly picking up books with voyeurism in them, but I’ve been on a roll lately.)

“I’m glad I crashed your wedding.”

Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

The Wedding Crasher is a companion book to The Worst Best Man by Mia Sosa that follows Max’s best friend Dean and Lina’s cousin Solange. It can be read on its own, but I always like reading these in order to recognize more of the side characters.
This story starts off which a bang. Dean is in the middle of his own wedding ceremony and Solange stands and objects due to something she just found out about the bride. As you can guess, it’s a bit chaotic 😂

A little time passes by and they both end up in situations that require a fake date. An agreement is made. They already have great chemistry but Dean never wants to fall in love so this relationship cannot go anywhere. Obviously as a romcom that doesn’t work out. Complications to their plan and Solange’s crazy family throw a wrench in plans.

I love how Solange is always honest and says whatever she’s thinking 😂 and Dean is so sweet. All of the side characters were hilarious. I love her Tia’s, such a crazy, funny family.

Definitely enjoyed, and hopefully there will be more books in this world!

Thank you Netgalley and Harper books for this e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I loved this book. From the very first page I was already smiling and wishing Solange was my best friend. That first chapter is so good you can’t put it down once you start.

This is a trope I wasn’t sure I liked before, fake dating. But, the way Mia Sosa has written it I now know how wrong I was for my assessment of the trope.

I loved the interpersonal relationships of Solange and her family. Especially the bond between her and her mom. That this book mixes English and Portuguese throughout their conversations made it feel all the more real. I remember being at my sitters house as a kid and she would start speaking Portuguese to us naturally and in the middle of conversation and sentences. This gave me that memory and I found I could still understand some of it as I read. The language is beautiful.

The banter between Solange and Dean is perfection. Dean is all the right amount of charm and broken past. I’m so refreshed that he’s not a bad boy too. The straight laced buttoned up white lawyer. Who falls for the sarcastic, witty, intelligent, and beautiful Latina. The cast of characters is diverse. My favorite side character being Brandon. I need his book please Mia!

I can’t wait to read Mia Sosa’s entire back list!

4.5 stars for this fantastic read

I’ll start by saying I didn’t read the first book in these series, so I went into this not knowing any of the characters. I ended up liking it a lot. This was refreshingly different and very well written. The character development in this is great, so I was pleasantly surprised with this one!

Solange is looking for unconditional love in a relationship that’s ‘all in’ based on true love, or else it’s just not worth doing for her. Dean is the opposite and is the ‘all out’ type that doesn’t believe in love. He has his life planned out, all the way down to his marriage of convenience that he needs to do to make partner at his law firm. Solange stops that Wedding and messes everything up for him. To make it up to Dean she agrees to pose as his fake girlfriend so that Dean can still be considered for the promotion.

Solange was super fun and I loved her character. She’s a force to be reckoned with. I loved the family dynamics here, all the Tia’s!! The fake dating scenes were definitely my favorite parts. The banter between Solange and Dean was flirty and funny. The electric current thingy 😂 IYKYK very funny stuff! The steam level on this took me a bit by surprise. Put it this way, we all end up at a sex party somehow 😂With these two you never know where your going to end up, lol. The chemistry between them was on fire. I loved them together.

I loved watching Dean’s character develop. I was expecting a fluffy romcom, and got something so much better. The ending was super cute and satisfying as well. This was fun to read. I would definitely check this one out if you can. This releases today April 5th , 2022! Thank you to @netgalley and @avonbooks for this #ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Fake dating and one bed trope??? Count me in! I really enjoyed this book and these characters. Despite the places where I felt like the humor or fake dating was forced, I couldn't help but smile or giggle. Overall, a great lighthearted read!
