Thank you NetGalley and Avon/Harper Voyager for an e-ARC of The Wedding Crasher in exchange for an honest review.
RATING: 5 Stars
Solange Pereira is a free spirit that goes where her heart takes her. She is weeks away from leaving DC but gets roped into helping her wedding planner cousin Lina at the wedding of a random couple. Everything is going smoothly until Solange overhears something that has her convinced the couple should not get married! She has two choices: 1) Keep her mouth shut and mind her business 2) Crash the wedding and make sure the groom doesn’t make the biggest mistake of his life.
Dean Chapman has his whole life planned out and marrying Ella is the next step in his plan. After his marriage of convenience implodes Dean focuses on the next step in his plan which is making partner at the law firm he’s been an associate at for years. In order to land an assignment that could guarantee him a promotion he claims to be in love with the woman who crashed his wedding 😱
My first book by Mia Sosa was The Worst Best Man in 2020 and it was phenomenal! When I found out she was writing a new book about Lina’s cousin, I got very excited 😆
Let me tell you, Mia Sosa does not disappoint! The Wedding Crasher gave what it was supposed to give 👏🏾 This book is hilarious, steamy 🔥 and a gut punch of emotions.
Fake dating is one of my favorite romance tropes and Mia Sosa does it so well. Solange and Dean somehow manage to get themselves involved in two separate fake dating schemes which makes for a bunch of hilarious hijinks.
I fell in love with Solange’s family all over again in this book. The tias (aunties) and primas (cousins) are a force to be reckoned with. Sosa’s inclusion of them along with Solange’s friend Brandon and Dean’s best friend Max, highlights how important familial and platonic relationships are in tandem with romantic ones.
Mia Sosa’s writing has a way of making you laugh out loud and then in the next sentence make you feel all the feelings 😩 Her characters are flawed yet absolutely lovable. Solange and Dean felt wholly human and super relatable.
I really loved this one and look forward to what Mia Sosa comes out with next!

I love this book and I love Mia Sosa! This book took grumpy/sunshine to a place I never knew it could go! I am absolutely in love with these characters and am double IN LOVE with the family aspect of this novel. The uber involved family and inside jokes are the cherry on top of this masterpiece!!

The Wedding Crasher was a fun and enjoyable story. While some characters from The Worst Best Man appear in this novel, each can be read as a standalone. Solange Perreira is filling as a make-up artist assistant at a wedding coordinated by her cousin, Lina (the main character from The Worst Best Man) in Washington DC. The groom, Dean Chapman, is Max’s friend (the other main from the other novel) and has his whole future mapped out. He paid off his student loans, just bought a house, is part of a power couple, wants to make partner at Olney & Henderson LLP before he’s 30 which is coming up soon at the end of the year, and eventually wants a family. He’s excited to be on track, but things are about to not go to plan. When Solange overhears Dean’s fiancé, Ella, saying she’s in love with her friend, Tyler, she is unsure if she should step in to ruin the couple’s wedding. Ella ends up officially calling things off and Solange is upset that her involvement set forth the events that broke up the couple.
After not going through with the wedding, Dean is ready to move on and focus on making partner. When he learns that the ticket to this promotion might need the involvement of a significant other, Dean’s first thought thinks of Solange. As Solange objected to the wedding, Dean finds it the perfect transition to pretend that she only broke up the wedding as the two were in love with each other. The two share an insta-attraction to each other yet neither is in a place to begin a relationship, so it is a perfect fit to pretend to be together. The two begin to spend more time together which creates an interesting opposite attract dynamic. As expected, each of them begins to have some real feelings for each other, but both are afraid to move towards making their fake relationship a reality.
As this story features fake dating, I already went into it with high expectations as it is one of my favorite tropes. I am thrilled that this novel lived up to the hype I built up in my head as it was a joy to read from start to finish. Not only was the main couple, Dean and Solange, sweet, but they also had great chemistry where their attraction was apparent along with the emotional connection they shared. The novel was a great update on Max and Lina while introducing the new couple of Dean and Solange. I love that Solange’s Brazilian culture was explored in the novel. It was well incorporated into the story, and I love Solange’s family was included. The relationship that develops between Dean and Solange is heartwarming as they each learn and grow from each other as well as develop on their own. I do wish that the feelings developed a little slower as I greatly enjoy a slow burn, but I enjoyed their journey to fully saying them out loud to each other. This novel was a very enjoyable read and I hope that Jaslene is able to get her own story soon!
**I give a special thank you to Netgalley and the publisher, Avon and Harper Voyager, for the opportunity to read this enjoyable novel. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.**

Thank you to Harper Collins for sending me an e-ARC to read and review! The Wedding Crasher was an adorable read and I really loved the use of fake dating here. I thought Dean and Solange fit so well together and I enjoyed seeing them figure out how to be with each other. Weddings were the foreground theme of the book and it's always so fun. I also liked all the insight into Brazilian food and culture, and thd family dynamics were so heartwarming. This book was also pretty funny, there were genuinely times I was laughing out loud with the banter and commentary. Don't let the cartoon cover fool you, this book definitely had spicy moments too and those were also a blast. Both characters were vulnerable and their emotions felt so real. Overall this was a cute read!

*** Thank you Netgalley and Avon Books for providing me an advanced reader copy of The Wedding Crasher by Mia Sosa! All thoughts are my own!***
Solange, Lina's cousin, is helping her with wedding day preparations when she comes across the bride in conversations with her long time childhood guy friend who is trying to get her to stop the wedding. The bride wants to go through with the wedding, even though she has feelings for the friend and is only getting married for convenience. The groom, Dean, Max's best friend is ready to marry his bride, Ella to start a life according to his checklist. But when Solange stops the wedding to tell Dean what she has heard, Dean realizes he cannot go through a wedding where his wife would be in love with another man.
After the crashed wedding, Dean gets an opportunity at work to finally move himself up to be a partner to the law firm. In order to do this he claims to be in love to show his bosses he can convince a potential colleague to join the firm. Dean has to try to keep his co-worker off his back for him to believe his relationship is real. The first girl he thinks to help him go along with this is Solange. She also needs to fake date a guy in order to show her extended family that she will not be single forever, but she is focused on leaving DC in just a few weeks once her temporary teaching position is over. She wants to recruit her actor roommate and best friend Brandon to fake date her, but fake dating Dean is easier for them to both get what they want. Turns out they can't deny their attraction and connection, but they think their conflicting personalities will never work.
So The Wedding Crasher takes place almost a year after the end of The Worst Best Man and it was great to see how the characters developed at the end of Natalia and Paulo's wedding, starting with the fact that Natalia is pregnant with their first child. I liked how the book started after how The Worst Best Man ended and how we ended one book with a wedding and started the next with a wedding. The weddings are a great setting that brings most of the characters together. The cast of characters in the sequel were just as charming as in the first book. My only issue with the book is it seemed like the same layout as The Worst Best Man, almost that it felt like reading the same plot points. I liked how Dean and Solange went about their fake relationship and all they did to try to keep it a secret. It didn't surprise me that Solange's family had the hardest time keeping the secret since they are such a big and open family. I'm glad all the ups and downs worked out for them in the end because they are really good for each other, even though they are both stubborn for their own causes. The Wedding Crasher releases on April 5th!

This book has so many tropes, fake dating, one bed, etc, but it just works. I love super involved extended families and there's plenty if this here. Add in a terrible coworker and bingo, we have a winner. Solange and Dean are couple goals and this got very steamy at times. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Pick this up if your looking for a little bit of everything.

I fell in love with Mia Sosa with The Worst Best Man so I jumped at the chance to read The Wedding Crash. This book follows Solange’s path to love in this fake-dating romantic comedy.
Solange didn’t mean to disrupt the wedding but after what she head, what other choice did she have? In an odd turn of events, the jilted groom, Dean, needs her help in wooing a potential hire at his law firm so he persuades her to fake date him for a few outings. Hilarity ensues until they both catch feelings, which is not supposed to part of their plans.
We get to see Max, Lina, and all the tias again, this time giving Solange a hard time. I loved the close-knit family unit and Solange’s relationships with them. There are so many moments that had me laughing but one of my favorites was Dean’s poem he shared 😏. He and Solange had so much chemistry and I thoroughly enjoyed their witty, snarky, and suggestive banter!
Thank you NetGalley and Avon for an advanced copy!

A classic, feel-good fake dating romance! It's like the Spanish Love Deception, but better. I love that this book doesn't take itself too seriously – it was full of true laugh-out-loud moments. The dual POV in this one really worked for me, as Solange and Dean are such different people and had unique voices and journeys throughout this story. This was lots of fun and I'd recommend it to everyone in the mood for a light-hearted romcom.

"Here's the thing about detours, though: Sometimes they become the destination."
This book was a delight! The Wedding Crasher is funny, sexy and highly entertaining.
Free spirit, Solange Pereira finds herself in quite the predicament when she is assisting her cousin Lina with a wedding. She overhears the bride confessing her love to someone, who is very clearly, not the groom. So when the priest asks if there are any objections, this hopeless romantic, has to step in.
Dean Chapman has planned his every move, personal and professional, for the past 10 years. Become a lawyer, check. Buy a home, check. Get married, almost check, until a beautiful stranger crashes his wedding. As a result of the cancelled wedding, Dean finds himself on shaky ground at work and with partnership decisions coming up and he has to fix that. And this is how, Dean finds himself in a fake relationship with his polar opposite and the woman who crashed his wedding.
As Solange and Dean begin to spend more time together, they begin to realize their feelings may not be all that fake. But, Dean can’t promise to love her and Solange can’t accept anything less than butterflies.
Reading this book and watching these two navigate their relationship and build a friendship was so enjoyable. Solange was absolutely hilarious and I enjoyed watching her loosen Dean up. There was witty banter, palpable chemistry and it was a joy to watch these to fall in love over the course of the book.
They both have personal revelations as well; Dean realizes the dream he has been chasing is no longer the goal and repairs the strained relationship with his mom. Solange decides that she can plant roots and take chances even if they end in failure since she has her family to back her up.
The ending was funny and had me smiling from ear to ear. I adore the tias and their meddling ways. And Brandon, I hope he is Jaslene’s love interest or gets his own story because he deserves happiness too.
Overall, such an enjoyable book and the perfect follow up to The Worst Best Man.
4.5 stars, rounding up to 5
Thank you Avon Books and Net Galley for the digital ARC!
*I will share a review on my instagram account closer to pub date and tag Avon Books. Thank you!

Oh my goodness. I kept hearing this book was good, and it lived up to the hype. I thought it was sooo funny and cute, I was literally laughing out loud sometimes. I loved Solange & Dean so much. I love when people are self-aware. They knew what they wanted and were also aware of their own issues and open about them, which I can respect the hell out of. Solange was a bad bitch, who was witty as hell. Dean was a pgom, and their chemistry/steamy scenes were 🔥🔥.
I highly recommend this one!!
I will definitely be ordering a physical copy to have 😊

I liked the Worst Best Man but... this one... is my FAVORITE! This book managed to give me humor, cute & sexy moments. The chemistry that Dean and Solange is just wow!!! I'm not gonna lie though I did have to warm up to Dean because he was a little bland but once he got started... I was team Dean & Solange all the way.
*Thank you to Mia Sosa & Netgalley for providing me with this arc💜 This is my honest opinion*

This was a weird one for me. I enjoyed The Worst Best Man and was excited to see some of our old friends again. And the familial side of this book did not disappoint! Where I did struggle a little bit was the chemistry between Dean and Solange. It was almost a slow burn, but it wasn't written to be a slow burn? In the dual POVs it was clear the characters were feeling things before I could feel them, and it turned into a little bit of telling, not showing sort of relationship. Because I loved seeing Solange's family and a hearty full-circle moment at the end, I still give it a solid three stars. Not ground-breaking, but still perfectly enjoyable.

Fake dating is my favorite trope, so the moment I read the summary for this book I knew I had to request it. And I'm happy I did! This was a great romance, and I would definitely recommend it!
I received an e-ARC from the publisher.

THIS BOOK! I admittedly did not read Worst Best Man, so this was my intro to this universe and BOY AM I HOOKED. The steam! The emotional intimacy! This book has literally everything. I can't wait to read the next in this series (there has to be another one coming, right? RIGHT?!)!

I have had this arc on my NetGalley shelf for a couple of months now and I am so mad at myself for not reading it sooner! It was exactly what I needed to read the week after all my midterms. The Wedding Crasher is so humorous and sweet. It had me laughing out loud and smiling almost throughout the entire book.
I have not previously read The Worst Best Man by this author, and while I don't think you necessarily need to understand the dynamics in this book, I do think it would help! I am sure there were certain intricacies and depth I missed out on in reading this book because I haven't read The Worst Best Man. If I know anything from reading The Wedding Crasher, it is that I am going to have to read The Worst Best Man soon because I adored this book! Can't wait to see more about Lina and Max since they were so much fun to see in The Wedding Crasher.
I think the sections of this book that really shin are any part featuring the Tias or Solange's cousins. The family aspects are what bring the whole story together. Anytime I was reading about the family, I had a huge smile on my face. I also thought that Dean's inclusion into the family and his revelations about his own family life because of it were just phenomenal. The scene where Natalia is having her baby and the whole family shows up to support her and Dean is so in awe of this gathering of people who would do anything for their family is so special to me. I wish I could reread it again for the first time. Get you a man who loves and supports your family just as much as you do!!
I loved Dean and Solange and I thought that their romance and relationship were actually realistic (even though the whole concept of this book is fake dating lol). Most of the time, my biggest issue with the romance genre is that scenarios or relationships feel so unrealistic that it takes you out of the immersion of the story, that was not the case with Dean and Solange. I also thought that their ending was very sweet and felt very full circle.
I genuinely loved this book and I think I will read anything else that Mia Sosa writes from this point on! I can't wait to get my hands on a physical copy of this book in a couple of weeks! Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with this sweet and funny romance.

Solange's wedding planner cousin is in need of help for a wedding and being the nice cousin that she is, Solange shows up to help her. Right before the wedding, she witnesses an exchange that tells her that the bride and groom are making a big mistake. Solange dramatically stops the wedding from happening and is surprised when days later, Dean (the groom) asks to see her. He's desperate for a woman who will pretend to be his girlfriend to help with him getting a promotion and Solange is just the girl that he's looking for. They spend the next several weeks getting to know each other and pretending to be madly in love. The lines begin to blur between pretend and real feelings even though both of them know that their relationship will not last long-term.
I was so sad when I finished this book! I loved it so much and I wanted more of Dean and Solange. I took my time reading this book, savoring it bit by bit and loving every page of it. I didn't think I would love this book as much as I did. I have to admit, I am not a huge fan of the fake dating trope, but Mia Sosa did a brilliant job with this one. She sets up the story in a way where I felt like the reason why they needed to pretend to be together was plausible. I enjoyed their journey together, thinking through their ruse down to little details and it was a fun ride!
Dean and Solange have become one of my favorite couples. Dean is pragmatic, straight-laced, but at the same time he is unexpectedly playful and cheeky at times. Solange is vibrant, caring, and passionate about life and her work. No wonder Dean couldn't help himself around her! The chemistry between the two was electric and the slow building tension as they gallivanted around town together was very yummy. And THAT SCENE! The scene that I was not expecting. The scene that I didn't know I wanted but now I want in every single book from this day forward. IYKYK!
Mia Sosa's writing in this book is *chef's kiss*. She perfectly blends elements to create a story that is witty, fun, flirty, steamy, and at some points laugh-out-loud funny. This one got me in all the feels and I'm going to be screaming from the rooftops about this one for a while.
Steam level: 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Arm’s length romance.

Thank you to @avonbooks and @netgalley for the eARC of The Wedding Crasher by Mia Sosa. I enjoyed The Worst Best Man so I was looking forward to some more trope filled romance from Sosa. This was a cute story and I love the fake dating trope which always brings some fun to the romance table, but I wasn’t head over heels for this couple. Because there was not one, but TWO different fake dating plot lines going on, there seemed to be a lot of plot. A lot. This left less time for relationship/character growth.
•
There was also a lot of the characters thinking through why they SHOULDN’T fall in love with each other, so much though that we didn’t get much of the characters actually BEING in love. I craved more of an emotional connection and some softness that I didn’t get. So by the end of the book I was pleased, but not feeling the love for this couple that I was told they felt for each other.

I really liked how this story started. Getting to know the characters was wonderful. Solange and Dean are so different yet similar. They are funny, deep, complex, and adorable. I got into this book quickly and was excited to see how it all came together. But then it kind of plateaued. The story started to get really far fetched, a bit cheesy, and the open door romance was too much for me. Not to mention the language, not a fan. I think a lot of readers will like this one but overall it just wasn’t for me.
Thank you Avon and Harper Voyager for the ARC.

I love books with tropes like this one has. Any sort of Wedding Crashing chaos is just the right amount of funny and angsty. LOve it!

Super fun but also a little formulaic. The opening scene really draws you into what is happening. I do wish that the characters were more appealing, and kept waiting for more growth in them.
