Boy is getting married.
Girl overhears bride confessing her love for another man.
Girl crashes wedding.
Boy then needs a fake girlfriend to get a work promotion....
Mix all these ingredients together and BAM, we've got ourselves a rom-com that would do wonders on screen! Dean and Solange are interesting from the moment we meet both of them and their banter is excellent. I'm a sucker for a fake-dating trope with good banter and this one was definitely doing its job. Our couple is surrounded by larger than life side characters that were so easy to fall in love with and really kept the plot moving nicely. I especially love the way Solange and her roommate Brandon's platonic friendship was written and it's something I would love to see more of.
While the pacing was very quick in the beginning and end of the story, I did feel that the pace slowed down in the middle. I was pleasantly surprised at a specific twist at the end of the story and loved how fresh the situation felt. All in all, this was a funny and charming story that would make such a perfect movie adaptation (Netflix I'm talking to you!)

I was a huge fan of The Worst Best Man and Sosa’s follow-up did NOT disappoint! But again, why must she make me so hungry while I’m reading, talking about all these mouth-watering Brazilian dishes?? 🤤
Speaking of drooling, can we talk about how lovely and adorable Dean was? Big fan. We stan a starchy cinnamon roll always and five ever around here. And don’t even get me started on how big of a girl crush I have on Solange. They’re both so wonderful and easy to love!
This book started with chaos and it was hilarious and fun the entire way through…from the meddling Aunties to the awkward situations Dean & Solange always seem to find themselves in 😂😬 Can’t wait for the rest of the book community to get their hands on this one come April 5th!
Thanks so much to @netgalley & @avonbooks for the advanced reader copy 💗

Well, that's a new way to meet someone. Solange is the wedding crasher, and Dean is the presumptive groom. When she overhears the bride declaring her love for another guy minutes before the ceremony, what's the right thing to do?
This is such a funny rom-com. There's fake dating and utterly unexpected and hilarious scenes. I laughed throughout the book and couldn't put it down. Solange and Dean were clearly so good for each other, whether or not they could see it.
And I loved seeing more interactions between Solange and her cousins, mom, and aunts. Their family is such a close and supportive one. This books serves as such a celebration of single moms and the work they do in raising their children.
I had already enjoyed The Worst Best Man, Solange's cousin Lina and Dean's best friend Max's story. While it's fabulous to see them both again, this is a standalone, and you don't have to have read the other book first. I enjoyed this even more than The Worst Best Man.
This one's for my readers of spicy romance. I love how aware both Solange and Noah are of consent. And their chemistry is absolutely amazing.
Thank you to Avon and NetGalley for the advanced reader copy. These opinions are my own.

✨the wedding crasher✨
What would you do if you saw a bride confess her love to a man other than the groom right before she walked down the aisle? Well, Solange put a stop to that wedding…

Mia Sosa has done it again with yet another couple that didn't quite make it to the 'I do' part of their wedding! Solange and Dean are thrown into a fake dating situation (that neither of them is super sad about) when they have to play the part for Dean to get a partnership at his law firm.
Does this book have amazing chemistry? Yep, almost from the get go. Does this book have a date including axe throwing and a drunken karaoke night? You betcha! Did I want to spend the entire night reading, but get caught up in being an adult and acting responsibly instead? Sadly, yes. :(
I loved this one with it's witty repetoire, its madcap scheming, and the intense love of an amazing extended family. Mia Sosa hasn't done me wrong yet, and I'm looking forward to seeing what comes next from her!
Thanks to Avon and Harper Voyager for providing me with an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This was the follow up to The Worst Best Man and I loved it so much! Solange is a queen and has witty comebacks for days. Dean seems a bit uptight at first but you soon learn he can give as good as he gets. This was fake dating done so right. Banter and bonding, moments of almost getting caught, and chemistry that can’t help but bubble over. I wish we had a little more Max and Lina in this book. But I loved the new side characters that were introduced and I loved the growth both Solange and Dean experience. Their steamy scenes were so hot and sweet at the same time. I loved The Worst Best Man and I think this one tops it!!

I couldn't get into this book, it was hard for me to finish it. Dean and Solange couldn't grab me as a couple or as characters. There was barely any growth in their relationship and at times it felt like some random scenes were just thrown in the book that have nothing to do with the plot.
Thank you netgalley for providing me with an arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.

When Solange interrupts an intimate moment between a bride and...not the groom, she does the only thing she can think of and crashes the wedding to object to the marriage. The groom, Dean, is the best friend of her cousin's husband. After the wedding is called off, Dean asks Solange to fake date him so that he can get a promotion.
I really loved the relationship between Solange and Dean! I think they both brought out things in each other and the spice was great! Just like in the first book of this series, I loved Solange's family and her relationship with them! This had two of my favorite tropes - fake dating and one bed.
Thank you to Netgalley and Avonfor the Advanced Readers Copy.

Falling in love with your wedding crasher seems impossible right? Well, for straight-laced Dean and free spirit Solange, it seems like it's the last thing that could happen. When Dean needs a real relationship at work, he blurts out that he IS in a relationship (even after his wedding two weeks ago was cancelled) with his best friend that he didn't realize he was in love with until after the failed marriage. He picks Solange as this person, because after what happened, she definitely owes him.
Solange needs a boyfriend of her own, since her family thinks she is in a long term relationship and will be coming for a visit. How hard can it be learning everthing they need to know about eachother in a few short days?
The plot of this book, falling for the wedding crasher, really sounded like it was up my alley. It drew me in and even though I hadn't read the first book, I didn't have an issue figurinig out who people were. I wanted to like it, but in the end I didn't connect with either of the characters at all. Their blossoming (actual) love didn't seem real to me. Dean was stiff and Solange was just.. quirky? I can't describe it in any other way than, I just wasn't invested in these two actually becoming a couple.
There was a lot of hijinx and a lot of fake dating scenarios and I just didn't understand why there were so many open plot lines that I felt never got closed. This book was well written and I could keep up with the story so I am rounding my review up.
Thanks to Avon, Netgalley and Mia Sosa for an early copy.

I was so excited for this book. But just no. Did not enjoy. It was very sloppy and disjointed I didn’t like either of the main characters and felt their chemistry was off.

Ahh! I loved this book. I really enjoyed Sosa's first book in the series, "The Worst Best Man," for its humor and witty conversations. And this one also had that too, coupled with fun adventures and steam. Ho boy, the steam! What I like about Sosa's books I've read so far is that the main characters are strong-willed, determined, and hilarious. I loved the fake dating aspect in this one. I know fake dating is a trope that takes a little more to convince, but I enjoyed it still! I mean, she did crash his wedding, there's a lot to remember about that.
I liked all the adventure of this book, the cute dates, the third act redemption arc, it was all so fun. I want Mia to continue these crazy wedding shenanigans stories because I will eat it all up!

What a fun take on the fake dating trope! I loved Dean and Solange's meet cute, and I loved every piece of their story and watched them fall in love! This book was so good and I just fell so in love with these characters. It's everything I love in a romance, and I am so happy that I got a copy of this book! Such a unique and fun read that I will recommend to everyone!

First, can I just say that it such a relief to read a romance where the cover actually matches the story inside, instead of being a bait and switch. As the cover shows, this book had a fun, lighthearted vibe, while still presenting well-rounded characters facing work and relationship challenges that give a story some heft.
Solange and Dean are like the opposite sides of the same coin. Solange watched her dad dump her mom because he wasn't fully committed to her, causing her to be determined that she would settle for nothing less than a man that was "all-in" in a relationship. Dean meanwhile, watched his mom chase after guys that were also never fully committed to her, but his reaction was to decide that the best way to build a long-lasting relationship was to just not fall in love. Instead, he was looking for a woman who wanted a respectful partnership, but didn't want the bells, whistles, and fireworks of love.
When these two find themselves in a fake dating situation to benefit Dean's quest for partnership at his law firm, they are refreshingly up front and non-judgmental with each other about their relationship goals. However, sparks are flying, causing them both to stray off the path of their good intentions.
Often in a romance, I feel like one partner has more of a journey to get to the HEA than the other partner does, but in this case, both Solange and Dean equally needed to recognize that they needed to change before that HEA was possible or believable. The other thing I loved about this book was that they were both up front with their friends and family about what they were doing with the fake dating scheme, no sneaking around or telling lies to the people important to them. On top of that, the Brazilian food descriptions were pretty yummy. All in all, I loved this romcom and am looking forward to the author's next book.

"The Wedding Crasher" started off strong but I didn't love this book and found myself rolling my eyes a bit mid-way through. I'm sure this is going to be a hit with readers, as Sosa's book "The Best Worst Man" was a great read. With her newest novel, I found it hard to believe the plot would be possible. While I can read just about anything, falling for the person crashing your wedding doesn't give me the warm and fuzzies for a rom-com.

4 ⭐️ A charming rom-com that made me laugh out loud quite a few times
When a groom, who doesn’t believe in love, asks his wedding crasher to becomes his fake girlfriend and then ends up falling in love 💕
This story was such a pleasure to read. The premise is fun, the characters are complicated and experience growth, the romance gives you butterflies, and Solange’s Brazilian family made me feel at home. There was even a twist or two I didn’t see coming. This is a must-read for any rom-com lover!
Thank you to NetGalley, Avon, and Harper Voyager for providing an eARC in exchange for an honest review! As always, all opinions are my own.

Book #2 in this 'world', but can be read as a standalone. Solange crashes Dean's wedding and as payback, he needs her help in a fake dating scheme. Let me tell you that I spit my drink out a few times while reading this. I really enjoyed how witty Solange is 😂. Some of the scenes in this story were over the top and had me saying " What the he...?!" a few times. I just went along for the ride and found them hilarious. Other scenes were downright STEAMY. I loved the relationship between Solange and her family. Solange and her Brazilian American family are close and supportive of each other. Her tias (aunts) and primas (cousins) remind me of my own.

I tend to stay away from wedding themed romances, they usually don't stand out to me and I end up bored. Friends!!! This is the one.

BLURB:
Just weeks away from ditching DC for greener pastures, Solange Pereira is roped into helping her wedding planner cousin on a random couple’s big day. It’s an easy gig... until she stumbles upon a situation that convinces her the pair isn’t meant to be. What’s a true-blue romantic to do? Crash the wedding, of course. And ensure the unsuspecting groom doesn’t make the biggest mistake of his life.
Dean Chapman had his future all mapped out. He was about to check off “start a family” and on track to “make partner” when his modern day marriage of convenience went up in smoke. Then he learns he might not land an assignment that could be his ticket to a promotion unless he has a significant other and, in a moment of panic, Dean claims to be in love with the woman who crashed his wedding. Oops.
Now Dean has a whole new item on his to-do list: beg Solange to be his pretend girlfriend. Solange feels a tiny bit bad about ruining Dean’s wedding, so she agrees to play along. Yet as they fake-date their way around town, what started as a performance for Dean’s colleagues turns into a connection that neither he nor Solange can deny. Their entire romance is a sham... there’s no way these polar opposites could fall in love for real, right?

Book 2- interconnected standalone series
This is the first book by Mia Sosa that I have read, but it definitely won’t be the last! This was So. Good. The banter and flirting is top notch! Enjoyable 🌶 too.
Oh my heck there were so many scenes that had me rolling on the floor laughter! I had to pick up my jaw multiple times (the couple at the bar, Peter’s “party”, Brandon and Solange in Vegas). This is a perfect RomCom. I seriously loved it.

Does reveal the ending of book 1 (one would hope in a RomCom the love interests end up together😜).

7/10 - I was really excited to get my hands on this ARC after I read The Worst Best Man last year! This story was a really similar read - enjoyable and cute, veryyy steamy, but probably not a story that’s going to rock your world (and that’s ok!). I love a good fake dating situation, and the way the MCs vibed with each other was really fun to read, but it felt like they dove into it all so quick. I also love the family aspect w these books, nothing like some meddling aunts to keep things interesting! Now the steam in this book 😳🥵… I’ll leave it at that. I thought it was a fun spicy read, but it wasn’t something I was overly crazy about and also forgot a lot of the details just a couple days later (though this may just be my fault for waiting too long to write this 😬)

A fun, swoony rom com. Fake dating, forced proximity, great banter and chemistry. Familiar tropes, brilliant execution.
