Honestly this was a book that I should've read earlier, especially when I'd enjoyed The Worst Best Man, but for some reason it took me so long to get it😂 I'm so glad I read it though because I was in the right mood for it! It had my fave trope - fake dating with a bit of forced proximity too!

Solange has been pulled into helping her cousin at a wedding when she runs into the bride declaring her feelings to someone who isn't the groom 😂 Talk about awkward. She doesn't want to ruin things but her past has her feeling sorry for the groom and just like you'd expect her to - she crashes the wedding and stops it. Surprisingly the groom - Dean, doesn't seem heartbroken over it. What she doesn't know is that this was something like a marriage of convenience for him and it's another thing on his list to check off along with making partner at the firm he works at.
A particular situation at work has him blurting out a lie that he's dating Solange. So he asks for her help in continuing this charade as the firm asks him to woo a potential hire - Kimberly and her partner and they're forced to take this scheme to the next level as they keep spending time with each other!

Totally loved the development of their relationship from the moment he handed her a dossier with all his info lol😆 Though Dean had a plan for his life, I loved the fact that he wasn't stuffy and was such a softie inside! Solange was amazing with her confidence and honesty! And the steam 🔥🔥🔥 don't get me started on that! Solange's family was so lively and amazing! Loved the bonds between the Tias and the cousins! Also the banter between them and between Dean and Solange was really good! It had all the vibes of a rom com but with lots of steam too! So that definitely worked out well for me!🤣

I loved Mia Sosa's "The Worst Best Man" so I was so excited when I received this arc from netgalley!

I devoured this book in less than a day, but it didn't hit me the same way its predecessor did.

This is a strangers (kinda) to lovers story that is one of the few that I actually enjoyed. This is Dean's book, and I wasn't his biggest fan so that may have been a large part of why this one only got 4 stars.

Solange ruined Dean's wedding, showing that his soon to be bride wasn't all that in love with him at all. Dean didn't show too much emotion here, odd since he was getting married, but turns out he wasn't that into his soon to be wife either! He lies that Solange was an old friend who he had feelings for and they start fake dating!
They go through crazy dates together as polar opposites and eventually the fake parts seem to be a bit more real.

I did enjoy this one and say you should try it out! 4/5 stars

The Wedding Crasher has me laughing out loud throughout the entire story. I read it in one day. It was fast moving and steamy in some parts. I especially love Solange's family who are quick witted and the family dynamic is heartfelt. I hope their is another story in this series so I get to experience this family again.

Named one of the most anticipated books of 2022 by EW, Oprah Daily, Marie Claire, Goodreads and Bookpage!

The USA Today bestselling author of The Worst Best Man is back with a hilarious rom-com about two strangers who get trapped in a lie and have to fake date their way out of it...

Just weeks away from ditching DC for greener pastures, Solange Pereira is roped into helping her wedding planner cousin on a random couple’s big day. It’s an easy gig... until Solange stumbles upon a situation that convinces her the pair isn’t meant to be. What’s a true-blue romantic to do? Crash the wedding, of course. And ensure the unsuspecting groom doesn’t make the biggest mistake of his life.

Dean Chapman had his future all mapped out. He was about to check off “start a family” and on track to “make partner” when his modern day marriage of convenience went up in smoke. Then he learns he might not land an assignment that could be his ticket to a promotion unless he has a significant other and, in a moment of panic, Dean claims to be in love with the woman who crashed his wedding. Oops.

Now Dean has a whole new item on his to-do list: beg Solange to be his pretend girlfriend. Solange feels a tiny bit bad about ruining Dean’s wedding, so she agrees to play along. Yet as they fake-date their way around town, what started as a performance for Dean’s colleagues turns into a connection that neither he nor Solange can deny. Their entire romance is a sham... there’s no way these polar opposites could fall in love for real, right?

4 stars for Solange and Dean! I like Solange since the first chapter.
Thanks Netgalley for the copy!

This was a sweet and saucy rom com and I enjoyed it! The fake romance trope is one of my favorites and add in wedding scandals and I am all in. It was funny and had enough rawness to keep it from being too sappy or cheesy. It also ranks high on the spice o meter - nothing closed door about this one.

I received an ARC courtesy of the publisher and NetGalley. The opinions are mine alone.

very late review but my goodness this book was SOO GOOD AND CUTE. usually i steer away from YA romances but olivie's writing is so elaborate and expansive, it didn't feel like I had to do work to understand the characters at all

So much better than what I expected. This was a very wholesome read. I enjoyed it so much😩😩

The pace of the book was a bit slow for me but it never got boring. The author has written it so well. The plot is very investing, honestly it took me by surprise. I had thought to myself it's robotics how much fun can it get? But IT DID GET FUN!!

Can't wait to read more of her work!!.

The Wedding Crasher is such a fun RomCom! Solange and Dean are complete opposites which makes for some excellent banter and witty dialogue. This fake dating, one bed, opposite’s attract trope is a fun read that kept me guessing exactly how it would end! Can’t wait for Mia Sosa’s next book!

Thank you Netgalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for the ARC!

This one was ok - I got a little bored about halfway through I think. Some pieces of the book kind of dragged for me. And I wasn't convinced that they were a great match for each other but that might've just been my impression. And what a missed opportunity! That scene where they accidentally ended up in the sex club was such a good opportunity to have some really steamy scenes and then all of a sudden we were at the hospital and it wasn't sexy anymore. Overall the book as ok it just wasn't my favorite.

I really enjoyed the alternating perspectives between Solange and Dean. I enjoyed both of their characters and their perspectives throughout this book. I felt that they were a good match and had good chemistry. This was also a very well-done fake-dating romance without feeling like a cliche. The writing was good and the relationship developed well. However, a few plot points did veer into the almost unbelievable for me. Overall, though, a thoroughly entertaining and cute contemporary romance. I will definitely be keeping an eye out for any other books by this author!

I have SO MUCH to say about this book omg! this read was EVERYTHING!
please trust me when i tell you that The Wedding Crasher was absolutely amazing and a delight to read!
The moment you start reading you just already know that Dean & Solange are both so pure that you want to protect them at all costs it's insane.
This book reached all my expectations and much more than that. there were funny moments, cute moments, and moments when i had to put my phone down to scream because of how CUTE Dean & Sola,ge were.
They're so comfortable with each other and it's so heartwarming.
ALSO OMG the seggsual tension??? it was OFF THE CHARTS!!!
one of my favorite scene was the karaoke scene, the stairs scene and basically every scene with the tias & brandon too! (if you want more details you'll have to read the book ;))
Let's talk about Brandon while we're at it! he was so AMAZING! such an beautiful character, he was so genuine and funny!
I looooved reading how whipped Dean was, Solange really had him wrapped around her fingers, he would do anything for her im dying for theeeeeem!

Dean's mantra is "When in doubt, get the fuck out" and i think that's so iconic.
And Mia Sosa really made my heart melt everytime we had Max & Lina crumbs I missed them so so much <3

This book was a true masterpiece and such a delight & funny read, Mia did an amazing job with the plot & characters and basically the whole story as always! She truly is one of my favorite authors ever because i just know that no matter what, her books are such a comfort & i know i will love them.

If you haven't read the first book in the series (you can both read them as a standalone) I really recommend you reading The Worst Best man by Mia Sosa <3

The Wedding Crasher is the companion romance to The Worst Best Man by Mia Sosa. It features Dean, who is the best friend of Max from the previous book; and Solange, who is hired to help with Dean's wedding. Everything thing is all set, ready to go until Solange overheard the bride having a private conversation with her best friend. After hearing the conversation, she can't help but feel that the wedding should not going on .... and finds herself objecting before the couple officially says I do.

The thing Solange doesn't realize is that the wedding is more of a business arrangement than a love connection. So Dean isn't exactly heartbroken about everything falling apart except he finds himself needing a significant other in order to possibly make partner as a law firm. He asks Solange for her help and the two begin a hilarious and sweet faux-relationship scenario.

Dean is afraid of love because he sees it as a sign of weakness if you are vulnerable for someone else. Solange has never been able to fully settle but when she does she wants someone to be one hundred percent in. These varying perspectives cause quiet a few very interesting moments for the pair. They are spicy together; and very much in denial that there really is anything going on between them. This type of dynamic is one of my favorites, and Mia Sosa nails it in this story.

I also enjoyed the dynamic of the familial ties between Solange, her mother, and her aunts. There is positive representation of Brazilian-Americans, single mothers, and having pride in ones culture. The aunts are hilarious and are so not buying into Dean and Solange's denial. I loved how both Dean and Solange defended each other in front of their family and friends. They were a real solid unit together.

The Wedding Crasher is the second book I have read by Misa Sosa and she is quickly earning her spot on my must read shelf. I'm really into books that have strong characterization and that is exactly what you get with her writing style. Her characters feel real and inviting. I'm always rooting for the couple to stay together in the end and for me that is a sign of a good book.

Odd couple Solange Pereira and Dean Chapman have my whole heart. A wonderful opposites-attract romance with fake dating set in Washington DC, another winner from Mia Sosa!

The tension was palpable between these two, and the scene at that party was just, wow lol.

I listened to an early copy from HarperAudio for Library Journal - review of audio to come at LJ.: https://www.libraryjournal.com/review/the-wedding-crasher-2152664

I don’t know why I put of reading this book for so long, but I did. I really enjoyed The Worst Best Man and liked this one equally as well. This book can 100% be read as a standalone but I did enjoy seeing Lina and Max again. When Solange overhears a bride confess her feelings for a groomsman she knows she must stop the wedding and does what she thinks is best. It turns out that both Solange and jilted groom, Dean, need a significant other so they agree to a fake relationship. As they spend time together, real feelings develop between the two.

I really liked both Solange and Dean. Both characters were well developed and I liked that they were equally invested in making their fake relationship look real to those around them. I did find myself growing tired of things that felt thrown in for laughs like the pregnancy pain stimulator and the surprise sex party. I did really like that the book was super steamy and filled with consent check-ins. I appreciated all the side characters and enjoyed seeing Lina and Solange’s Afro-Brazilian family again. I will happily read a third book set in this world should there be one.

Thank you to Avon and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was a cute fake dating trope, and unconventional love story between Solange and Dean. At first I wasn’t sure if I liked Dean since he left his fiancé at the altar and sort of went to getting involved with another woman right away, but he had his reasons. I thoroughly enjoyed reading the ethnic background on Solange, being of a Brazilian descent.

The spicy scenes are decent, but I didn’t find myself absolutely sucked into it as I am with other books. Actually I wasn’t absolutely sucked into any part of the book that I can recall but I had fun reading it.

I have received this ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

The Wedding Crasher was all kinds of cute. Or maybe I was just really in the mood for some fake dating to become real. After a very stressful work week, heck month, I really needed a good romance book to sweep me off my feet. Luckily, this one didn't disappoint me one freaking bit.

In this, you will meet Dean and Solange. Just when he's about to get married, he doesn't. Mostly because of Solange intervening and getting the bride to tell everyone her true feelings. Talk about awkward. Even though I wish I was in this wedding just to see how someone exactly crashes one, I'm glad that I sat on the sidelines and read all about it instead. Still think it would be entertaining though.

Now the one thing I bet she didn't see coming was Dean asking her to fake date him. I mean, of course, it doesn't happen right then and there because that would make things even more awkward and weird. I also feel like he didn't really care about the wedding not happening because it didn't seem like he really loved her either. Or at least that's the vibe I got because you'd think the guy would be mad or sad about it.

After the fake dating began, it was very entertaining to see everything that these two went through. They were hilarious and had great chemistry. It didn't take me long to start wishing for the fakeness of it all to suddenly become real. Mostly because it was obvious that they were developing feelings for one another, and I just need them to acknowledge it all.

In the end, I fell instantly in love with these two. Definitely happy that I got the chance to jump into this and can't wait for the next book Mia writes!

After reading The Worst Best Man, I was SO excited for this book. Mia Sosa nails the sarcasm and witty banter between the MCs without fail! I can honestly picture this story on the big scream (I'm manifesting this to happen so badly!!!) The chemistry between Solange and Dean is off the charts and I already want to go back and reread it (and The Worst Best Man).

Started a bit slow (could have been me having an impatient week, lol) but geez, 25% in and I couldn't put it down.
Solange was a joy to read and Dean was a joy to watch unravel at the seams over having his strict rules of life crack apart one by one.
Pick up if you love fake dating, wrecking-ball heroines, drama, strong family side characters, and opposites attract.
