This book!!!!! Mia Sosa!!!! I binged The Worst Best Man so seeing this book filled me with joy. Dean is getting married! Until he isnt. Solange overhears something she shouldn’t and interrupts Dean’s wedding. Dean is doing shockingly good until something comes up that could prevent him from making partner at work. Dean asks Solange to fake date and their relationship goes from there. This book was sooo good. I honestly cannot recommend it enough. It stands up to The Worst Best Man, if not surpassing it!
Mia does it again! I loved her first book in this series and this one was a joy as well. A perfect rom-com read.
This was a fun book with one of my favorite tropes- fake dating! The characters were lovable and the plot line engaging!
This book is perfect for people who love the fake-dating trope. Personally, I found the book to be a little cheesy and predictable - and usually fake-dating stories are.
I felt that the attraction between Dean and Solange happened too fast, and while it can be believable, I just don't vibe with insta-love. The Dean character in this book seems to be a whole different and unrecognizable one from The Worst Best Man by Mia Sosa, which I guess can be considered book one in this series. There are appearances and mentions of the characters from that book in this one that I'm sure many will enjoy reading about again. However, there is a really disgusting scene that the author tries to make sound romantic, and I was appalled - let's just say this book isn't for the younger crowd. Another thing that I can't say I enjoyed was that everything was so dramatic and over-the-top that even the attempts at humor weren't funny.
This book is going to be released on April 5, 2022. If you love a good love story that starts with fake-dating, then you're in for a treat. Unfortunately, this book didn't live up to the hype for me.
I loved the start of the book, Solange really being brave and putting it out there. But from there, I started to lose interest in the fake dating trope as it unfolded. The rest was so so for me.
Thank you to Avon and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review
CW: parental abandonment (past), cheating (not MCs relationship)
This is the second book in the series but can be read entirely as a standalone
I would recommend if you're looking for (SPOILERS)
-m/f fake dating
-only one bed
-let's get this out of our systems
-accidental visit to a sex party
-opposites attract
-breaking up a wedding
I loved this book so much. The perfect escape, I maybe even enjoyed it more than the first one? I love that this series is set in DC, it was so wonderful to see the familiar setting. I loved Dean and Solange. Both raised by single moms and damaged in their own ways. Solange refusing to accept anything but love and stoic Dean pushing love away.
Everything about this book just pulls you in. The meet cute at his wedding which she breaks up. The fake dating, his Channing Tatum impression, and the accidental visit to a sex party. One can only hope its continued in a deleted scene somewhere we will one day be blessed with. Watching these two deny their feelings and pretend they weren't falling for the other was so delicious. Dean just gone on her, refusing to admit it was love and Solange scared to trust it all. Honestly one of my most favorite executions of the fake dating trope in a long time.
I am ready for more in this series.
Steam: 4
This was a good fake dating story. I wasn't quite feeling the chemistry between these two characters, but the family relationships between the cousins and their mothers/aunts is lovely. Although this wasn't the best contemporary romance I've read lately, it was still solid and enjoyable and I will be recommending it to fans of fake dating tropes and latinx romance.
If you love fake dating, forced proximity, and a cute romance overall then you'll love The Wedding Crasher.
Solange who's supposed to be helping out her wedding planner cousin did not expect to crash the wedding, literally. When Solange overhears a bride confessing love...and it isn't to her intended, she decides to fess up and save the groom from making a mistake. Dean, our unsuspecting groom, is a planner, and getting married was one of them until Solange decided to scrub the task from his list. Realising Solange owes him big time, Dean comes to collect when he needs a partner to land a promotion at his law firm. What starts out as fake dating quickly evolves into a friendship *with benefits* and then into something more.
I absolutely loved Solange's family and we see characters from The Worst Best Man make an appearance in here as well. Although Solange and Dean couldn't be more different than each other, there is one thing they have in common which is trusting someone enough to fall in love. Both of them have seen their mothers raising them alone and get hurt in the name of love. As a result, they both decided that love wasn't in the cards for them and while Solange respected that idea, she also had hope for love. Their journey towards accepting love was beautiful to watch and so were the scenes between them which were steamier than the previous book. Also, I totally did not expect Dean to go 'Magic Mike' on me... err, on Solange!
This was another amazing book from Mia Sosa and I can't wait to read the next one. For fake dating lovers everywhere, please add The Wedding Crasher to your tbr!!
Thanks to the publisher for an eARC in exchange for my honest review.
This book had all the pieces, everything was there…I just can’t say that it really rocked my socks off though. Solange and Dean’s friendship let alone relationship seem to move at breakneck speed. As a side character in the first book in the series, The Worst Best Man, Dean was actually one of the stand-outs in a book almost bloated with friends and family members. His charm seems to dissipate here though in a series of scenes that leave him looking silly rather than swoon-worthy.
The most interesting thing about this book for me was that the characters’ misbelief about love stems from the same place: watching their single mothers suffer at the hands of jerks. Solange sees her mother’s heartbreak at loving someone who didn’t love her back, so she is afraid to make a move in her love life, lest she choose wrongly. Dean sees his mother fall hard for a string of men, upending young Dean’s life at every turn. This leaves him believing that real love and support just isn’t possible. So it’s interesting to see how the two of them navigate these misbeliefs when the root is similar but their interpretation of it is different.
Anyway, it’s definitely worth reading if you are a fan of the first book and there are glimpses galore of what the next installment might shape into. But I think I was expecting more from and for Dean.
*Fake dating
*One-bed
*Friends with benefits
We start off hot with this one, Solange finds herself in a difficult situation -- objecting to a wedding of people she barely knows.
The Wedding Crasher was so much more than a rom-com. It definitely delivers on everything important; laughs, swoon-worthy banter, sexual tension, and spicy scenes. But what I loved the most was the character development. They both struggled to come together in the most perfect way. I also especially loved the Brazilian/Portuguese rep in this storyline. Family was HUGE and all the side characters' love and support created a different feel for the storyline and enriched the romance overall.
This book was so cute! It wasn’t overly mushy and the story was entertaining. Plenty of smut if that’s your thing. I enjoyed it.
Solange Pereira is tasked with helping her wedding planner cousin with her first wedding. Things are going well until she hears a troublesome conversation between the bride Ella and a man who is not her fiancé. When the wedding commences, Solange decides she cannot remain quiet and urges the bride to follow her heart. Ella says she cannot through with the wedding.
Dean Chapman had his life planned out. A check mark against each goal marriage was to be next. With his wedding canceled, he must reevaluate what comes next. Then comes the realization at work that he may not get the promotion he wanted without a significant other. He enlists the help of Solange to pose as his serious girlfriend.
Solange and Dean fake-date their way through various situations until they admit the truth. Have they developed very real feelings for each other?
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this arc in exchange for my honest review.

Man there was a so much about this book that is wonderful. I’m loved both Dean and Solange are both amazing. I loved the wedding crash, Ginuine, the attraction, and the surrounding family and friends.
Dean is dedicated to how his life is supposed to be. When his wedding died T work out the way he expects. He needs some help keeping his work plan on track. Enter the wedding disrupter. Solange didn’t mean to disrupt but here we are.
I adored these two and how the fake relationship started to turn into something more.
So many moments were spectacular. The only thing that keeps me from a full 5 stars was the dark moment. It just seemed a little extreme.
Having not read the previous books I was curious to see how I would enjoy this one. It wound up being a lot of fun and a perfect quick paced romance read. It is full of laughs and in particular one scene in a car. Solange and Dean are both strong willed whose careers are very important to them and after they both need a favor they turn to each other. They have lots of fun together and seeing their relationship evolve was great as they are both had issues to work through. Be aware this book is a spicy one so may not be everyone's preference. The highlight is really the extended friends and family and the rich culture that is included. I love when books are full of exotic food descriptions that make your mouth water and this had plenty. Solange's relationship with her mother especially is heart tugging. Overall a charming romance full of diverse characters.
Thank you to Avon for allowing me to read an ARC of this. All opinions are my own.
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC advance copy of the Wedding Crasher (release date 05/04/2022) in exchange for an honest review.
“F*cking is easy young man, loving is harder”
I really did not think that Mia Sosa would be able to top the Worst Best Man but she did! Solange and Dean’s love story is easily one of my favourites.
Once again Sosa included all the tropes, fake dating, forced proximity, one bed etc.
I would recommend this book to fans of Tessa Bailey, Sally Thorn, Sonali Dev & Talia Hibbert! 5 stars.
The Wedding Crasher by Mia Sosa is the second book in the series after The Worst Best Man. Th book follows the story of Solange who is Lina's cousin. While planning a wedding event, Solange overhears a conversation and has to stop the wedding. The groom is Dean Chapman who has his future mapped out to perfection. When Solange stops the wedding Dean doesn't take too long to overcome the broken relationship. Though he needs Solange's help in convincing his partners that he is over his past and has moved on with Solange. They decide to fake date and end up in a messy web of their own making. Dean and Solange realize their feelings for each other is more than what it seems. But can Dean overcome the walls he has built around himself and let Solange in?
This was a cute read. Loved all the pop culture references in the book. I felt, I connected better with the first book . There were some pacing issues in the middle and some abrupt jumps to situations that felt a bit abrupt in the middle and doesn't really tie in to the plot. Some of the side characters were unwanted and some could have been flashed out a little more. Overall, I was invested in Solange and Dean's story and would rate the book 3.5 stars, rounding to 4 stars.
Another great romance read. 2022 is already killing it for me on the romance front. 😂
My favorite part of this one was Solange, the female main character. She was SO sassy and quick-witted. She was headstrong. She knew exactly what she wanted in a partner and was not taking any less that she felt she deserved. I loved her.
Also, the consent. 100% perfect. This one was pretty spicy, but not in a cringe type way. Everything was so beautifully put out there for both characters.
Weeks before she’s supposed to leave, Solange is roped into helping her cousin with a bride’s wedding makeup. While there, she overhears the bride talking to her longtime best friend about how she is in love with him. Solange can’t keep this information to herself. During the ceremony, she speaks out and objects to the wedding. Dean has his life planned out and was about to check “Start a family” off his list. Solange screws that all up. He learns that he’s about to land a promotion that he’s put on his life plan list, but can’t do that without having a partner. He decides to rope Solange into a fake dating plan since she owes him big time for messing up his life plans. What starts as a fake dating sham for his colleagues, turns into very real feelings and a connection that they both can’t deny.
The Wedding Crasher: 4 ⭐️
I loved the Worst Best Man and appreciated the reappearance of characters from Sosa's hit romance. Assistant wedding planner Solange walks in on a cheating bride and makes it her mission to make sure groom Dean knows, creating a huge drama and ruining the wedding. The payback he demands is that she fake date him to seal his potential promotion at work.
It's no surprise that Dean and Solange actually like each other, and get found out, because that's how these things ALWAYS play out. But Sosa keeps it real and fresh with strong supporting characters and cultural details and career subplots. The close-knit, big, obnoxious family is wonderful, and the writing is laugh-out-loud funny. And OMG their dates, which include a sex party, are of the truth is stranger than fiction variety and so absurd as to be believable.
If you loved The Worst Dressed Man, you'll love this one, too.
I received an advance reader's review copy of #TheWeddingCrasher from #NetGalley.
I was very wary of this whole "I stopped your wedding and now we're going to be together" trope, but it went in several different directions I did not see coming. It was a delight to read this book, I was literally giggling while reading a few scenes. Also, the first spicy scene in Dean's apartment was HOT.
There's some cute banter and character growth within these pages, and I've come to really love that within my reads.
My only issue with the book is that there is A LOT of stuff going on and since I read this in several different sittings (while also listening to a different audiobook) I did randomly forget what was happening. Still a lot of fun, and a great follow-up to The Worst Best Man.
This started out with a BANG.
Going in I knew it was a fake dating situation, and I LOVE fake dating, one of my top 10 tropes. Now imagine fake dating the guy whose wedding you ruined. The energy and connection was there from the beginning and it was so easy to just sit there and devour this book in one sitting. Dean and Solange wren just so much fun to read about and they had that "we're completely opposites" thing that I love where one has everything planned to the t and the other one is just going with th44 flow until they figure it out.
I love how well each character is written and the dynamics throughout the story. This is actually my first Mia Sosa book so I didn't know any of the characters going in and now I love them all! I adored Brandon, he and Solange made me crack up from more than one conversation. She left me wanting more in the best way possible.
I think this is a perfect read for romance lovers and a must add to TBRs.
Thank you so much to Netgalley and the Publisher for granting me an E-ARC in exchange for my honest review.
I loved the book it is super cute, the right amount of spice and banter and humor you could ask for and a happy ending
