Mia Sosa has done it again. Readers of The Worst Best Man will flock to this title and won't be disappointed. Main characters Dean and Solange are equal parts fools in love and set in their ways. Couple this banter with just the right amount of spice and this book will keep you turning the page.
HOLY HELL! this book had it all!
we’re talking: fake dating, friends to lovers, one BED, supporting mothers, scheming best friends !!!!
I could scream in romance happiness :)
solange accidentally overheard a bride confessing her love to DEFINITELY not the groom which led to her dramatically announcing this in front of everyone. except now, the groom has accidentally on purpose told everyone at his law firm that they’re dating post wedding breakup. and surprisingly, solange feels guilty enough to go along with it. this can only end one way people :))
the dialogue and steamy scenes were definitely cringe at times, but I adored the constant banter between solange and dean. it was so pure and authentic that I felt like I was there with them.
but by far my favorite part was solange’s mother and tias. having a best friend in my personal life, whose family is almost identical to solange’s with their loving attitude and latinx heritage, really made this one special for me. I was thinking about my friend and her family the entire time & connecting and reflecting on their traditions. it was beautiful ❤️
thank you to netgalley and avon and harper voyager for sending me an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review. I can’t wait for everyone to read this one!!!

One of my first ever Netgalley approvals and feedback given was for The Worst Best Man. It feels extremely fitting that my 200th review be The Wedding Crasher.
We briefly met the two main characters in this book in the TWBM. However, you could totally read this as a standalone. The first is not necessary.
Solange accidentally overhears some important information and feels it best to crash a wedding to keep the couple from making a brutal mistake.
She tells the groom to reach out if he needs anything. Turns out that he does indeed need something. A fake relationship.
Solange and Dean go on an epic slew of dates that magnify the chemistry they both feel for one another.
You must read this one if you love fake dating turned more, a very interesting turn of events that takes them to a very interesting party, and the best supporting family members. Oh goodness I hope we get more. Hopefully Rey's story!
Thank you Avon and Netgalley for the ARC for my own opinion.
Fun, fast, steamy read centered around a fake dating trope. Solange and Dean find themselves needing one another after she crashes his wedding and breaks it up. The dialogue is realistic, even if some of the situations are not. It is still a fun read.
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for a digital ARC. This review can also be found on my Goodreads page.
I’ve been in the mood to comfort read a bunch of romance novels and I decided to pick this one up based on the great arc reviews I’ve been seeing. Unfortunately, I didn’t like it as much as I wanted to.
Can you imagine your cousin asking you to help out at the wedding she’s planning, only to overhear the bride confess her love to a man who isn’t the groom? Well that is what happens to Solange Pereira and she’s forced to make a decision: Should she be the stranger who stops a wedding or the observer who condemns an unhappy marriage?
Sounds promising right? I was so excited to hop aboard but I was a little shocked at how fast the romance started. One minute the potential lovebirds are strangers and the next they’re dropping innuendos every sentence. Don’t get me wrong, this book is a fun ride on the rom com train but my own preferences got in the way. This just wasn’t my kind of love story.
I’d recommend this for anyone interested in the fake dating trope, Brazilian culture, a large, nosy but caring family, strong female protagonists, spice, and of course the classic I-love-you-but-I-can’t-be-with-you trope.
Thank you, Harper Collins Publishers, NetGalley, and Mia Sosa for an e-arc in exchange for an honest review!
I am trash for fake dating, culture clash, only one bed, meddling families shenanigans and The Wedding Crasher delivers!
Solange and Dean are great together and watching them accidentally fall in love was the highlight of my month!
Thanks so much to Avon and NetGalley for the ARC!
Thank you to NetGalley and Avon/Harper Voyager for providing me an e-book copy of THE WEDDING CRASHER to review. I LOVED The Worst Best Man, by Mia Sosa, so I knew this one was probably going to be just as good.
I loved the chemistry between Solange (the wedding crasher) and Dean (the groom). I thought they were great together and I loved Solange's dedication to her family.
This book had it all: grow-to-love, sizzle, a very awkward and hot party (wink, wink), career ambitions and fake dating.
I will say I thought Dean changed too much, as in he completely rearranged his life for Solange and that was a bit unrealistic. I also thought his marriage of convenience, given that he was a stand-up, good looking guy, seemed a bit odd for today's times. However, I loved the two of them together.
When is Mia's next book coming out because I am there for it!?!
I rate THE WEDDING CRASHER four out of five stars.
Fake dating tropes are one of my favorites to read. I mean who doesn’t love a story where people think they are wrongly matched, only to find out that they are meant for each other. It just gives me all of the warm fuzzy feelings inside.
And this book was no different. Solange saves Dean from marrying the wrong woman, but literally objecting at his wedding. I kind of wish I had been there for that. I’ve never been at a wedding where someone has objected to it happening, but I would love to. Not for the messy fallout of it, but the reactions of all parties involved would be so interesting, but I digress. Dean then finds himself in a situation, where he needs to be attached for work, so he decides to say that he now dating Solange. Hijinks follow, including a sex party (which I wasn’t at all expecting), and after a break up, Dean and Solange figure it out.
One of the little things that I loved about this one was that both Dean and Solange had to experience some character growth before they were able to get a point where they were able to acknowledge that they were in love. That is what made this story even better.
I was glad I was able to read an advanced copy of this book.
I couldn't put this book down, fantastic read!! Solange has some serious balls and I really appreciated her candor and truthfulness throughout the entire book. Dean really needed Solange and of course via one of my favorite tropes of fake relationship to real relationship she helped him feel and face difficult decisions and he helped her as well. The witty banter and meddling family and friends were just the icing on top. This book made me smile and laugh throughout and I had total faith the ending would turn out as it should. This was a perfect holiday weekend read and I will be looking for more Mia Sosa books for sure.
reunited with my kindle 🤍
fighting Sunday scaries by putting up my Christmas tree & reading a rom com arc.
y’all this is a gooooood one. instantly hooked me because hello fake dating trope with a hint of grumpy sunshine. what more do you need ? and if you need me I’ll be in my feels after reading this because I want what Dean & Solange have.

Last year I read and loved The Worst Best Man by Mia Sosa so I was super excited to have a chance to read the next book in the series: The Wedding Crasher! Unfortunately, this one fell flat for me.
The fake dating trope isn’t necessarily my favorite and that definitely factored in to my not loving this one along with not believing in Dean and Solange’s relationship even as friends. I wasn’t getting any chemistry that had me rooting for them to turn from friends to lovers. There were also several scenes that were cringe to me.
What I did enjoy were the cultural references, familial bonds, and an update on characters from The Worst Best Man.
Thank you to Netgalley and Avon for the eARC in exchange for my honest review!
WHat HaPPened to Dean!!!!!
In the worst best man I loved Dean and i was so excited to jump in and read his story but this book completely changed him. He was an unrecognizable character that was very hard to love. Sadly the same thing happened with Solange. While we didn't have the same background as we did with Dean she was just annoying and unrelatable. Even Max lost him charm in the little pages he was in. UGH I really wanted to root for this couple but they were just so bad and annoying and felt very 2 dimensional.......
Imagine going to a wedding and accidentally overhearing the bride confessing her love to someone else? What would you do? Crash the wedding of course!
****
I LOVED The Worst Best Man, and I was so excited to read Deans story and let me tell you, I was NOT disappointed. I Solange and Dean are two of the kindest book characters ever, and are absolute opposites. Solange loves being sporadic, doesn't plant roots but also wants a committed and serious relationship. Dean on the other hand loves to maintain order and keeps strict plans but doesn't want commitment or love. After Deans failed wedding, Dean lies to his boss about seeing someone, he needs a fake date, and who does he ask? the same person who crashed said wedding, our lovely Solange. Solange who helps everyone and anyone gladly agrees to fake date Dean. Mix the fake dating with an ounce of one bed trope, half a cup of incredible family dynamics, cup of humor, and you will have a funny, cute rom com.
The love and respect these characters have for each other is SO AMAZING. I JUST WANT TO HUG THEM.
It was so good to catch up with Max and Lina and to see a bit more of all the characters.
The Wedding Crasher I definitely preferred over it’s predecessor The Worst Best Man. I found it to be more memorable.
Although the romance was quick in how it took off, it didn’t feel forced and it felt believable. The couples chemistry was also really well written, and the opposites attract aspect of the story was enjoyable.
There were moments where I felt the book was moving too slowly or just felt too long, but that’s my only quip. Definitely check this out when it comes out in April.
I was so excited to read the new romantic comedy by Mia Sosa, “The Wedding Crasher.” Just the title gave me so many ideas as to how the wedding would be interrupted. I love Solange’s character with her brilliant mind, quick wit and her joy for helping others. You know you are reading an amazing book when the characters make you laugh and it is only the second chapter! Solange’s interactions with her cousins are hilarious and I love how devoted she is to them. Dean came into her life unexpectedly and when she agreed to be his pretend girlfriend I suspected they wouldn’t be just friends for long. Dean liked everything about Solange and he was thrilled when she agreed to his crazy plan because he definitely wanted to spend more time with her.
Solange saved Dean from a life of heartache when she spoke up at his wedding. Little did he know that Solange would become the most important person in his life as she showed him what a real family was like. Solange was the perfect fake girlfriend because she got along with everyone, seamlessly became one with Dean and was even able to convince his curious coworker that they were in love. Dean’s plan was working perfectly, or was it? As he spent more time with Solange, he realized that she brought out the man he wished he could be. She was perfect in so many ways that Dean was at a loss at what to do. Solange was at a crossroads in her life and falling for Dean was not on her agenda. He was all business, all work and his life was too structured. Could she be with someone who had every day planned down to the last minute, with no time for laughter and love?
This book is so adorable. I love a good book where someone thinks that they aren't capable of love and Dean was just the man to give that to me. Solange and Dean were adorable and I just loved that they figured out the stuff with their life separately so that it showed you how much they really loved each other.
I will say though the sex party really took me by surprise and it was a bit weird that they didn't really talk about it again but also I feel like that's realistic so.
I received an arc through netgalley.
I think I enjoyed this more than The Worst Best Man. This was so fun and sweet. There were some parts that were just totally bonkers, but overall this was an excellent read.
*Special thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing this e-ARC in exchange for an honest review. Pub date: April 5, 2022
What a fast, funny, but semi confusing beginning—a crashed wedding and everyone but the bride and groom are upset about it. It’s just hard to believe anyone left at the altar could be this level headed immediately afterwards!
Solange and Dean go from pretty anti-love to pro-love in a matter of weeks through some truly unexpected and steamy situations—karaoke and secret parties, oh my! That being said, it’s hard not to love both of these characters and I devoured this book in an afternoon. The family aspect of this book is so charming, it had me yearning for a trip home to be around everyone.
Thank you, Harper Collins Publishers, NetGalley, and Mia Sosa for this digital advanced readers copy in exchange for an honest review.
A magnetic, steamy, and entertaining read! I enjoyed The Worst Best Man but I devoured The Wedding Crasher. Solange and Dean are a hilarious and lovable duo. I loved their backstories and the way they each had to learn that their perceived strengths were also their actual weaknesses. This book seemed a lot kinkier than The Worst Best Man. You've been warned!!
I also noticed more Portuguese and food in this book, which I really appreciated because I feel like the Tia's store helped ground the story and connect Solange with her roots. Food and family dynamics are such a great way to connect with characters and learn about other people's lives. I hope that Brazilians and Brazilian-Americans can see themselves in this book and those who are not a part of those groups feel inspired to learn more about their culture. I'm also so happy that the Tias got the attention they deserved! I hope they get their own stories because I feel like Sosa really let us get a peek into their personalities, experiences, and interests in this book.
I recommend The Wedding Crasher to anyone who enjoys a good amount of spice with hilarious scenarios and banter.
Super fun romance with good laughs, fun character and steamy scenes. I appreciated the diversity of characters.
