This was amazing. I enjoyed The Worst Best Man but I thought this was incredible.
Let’s start with Solange and Dean- they could not have been more perfect and I loved them. They complemented each other so well and their growth as a couple was outstanding.
I love a fake dating trope so I was all in. This starts with Solange breaking up Dean’s wedding and definitely evolves as the two navigate work, family and their feelings for each other. They were magical.
I also loved to see Solange’s wild Brazilian family members and also getting to see Lina and Max reappearing as a couple. Such fun inclusions of great characters to support the story.
This was such a fun story that had me laughing out loud and it was perfectly spicy. I can’t wait to read the next from Mia Sosa! Thank you NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for this gem!

Dare I say… 2022 favorite?! 😍
The Wedding Crasher by Mia Sosa was SO GOOD. Cute, sexy and fun, this book was an absolute treat to read! (And that party scene?! 🥵🌶🔥) Don’t just add this one to your tbr… read it NOW… especially if you loved The Worst Best Man! 😊
Thank you to @netgalley and @avonbooks for my digital copy! 📚

This was vaguely connected to the Worst Best Man in that some of the characters from that novel show up here, but I didn’t feel like I needed the first book to really enjoy this one.
Solange and Dean are a fun couple to watch bloom into a relationship. He is sure he wants a pragmatic partnership with no feelings involved and she is all feeling and leaning in emotionally.
The book brings up a very valid discussion about the misconception of employers that a person with a partner is more likely to stay with the company longer, than one who is uncoupled. It should not matter at all who you do or don’t date and yet corporate culture continues to push the “traditional happy family” commentary.
I fell in love with Solange a little myself, she is all vibrancy and light, I would follow her anywhere. It was easy to see how Dean relaxed around her. I loved the set-up of the sex party and the candor with which these two grown adults discussed their needs and desires. It was refreshing to see a real conversation on that front.
Was having another two characters be in the same fake-relationship-turned-real situation a little much? Yes, it was. Could there have been a more delicate way to give Dean the final push towards Solange? There probably was, but I was already screaming: “You idiot!” at the book and was relieved when someone put him out of his misery.
Lastly, this book is funny and full of parental love and found family. It’s a great rom-com to get you out of your daily grind -Sky.

It's been a while since I read "The Worst Best Man" so I can't recall enough to compare. Once again we have a party sticking their nose where technically it doesn't belong, but the contrivance here to keep the main characters going is pretty far fetched. I'm wondering how convincing Dean and Ella's "romance" was if Dean thought it's possible to just bring Solange in as a "roommate/true love."
Dean doesn't believe in love because of all his Mom's failed relationships; Solange believes in it enough to feel no one is ever good enough. Both are wary and alone.
Because Dean's needs to have a relationship in order to get a promotion kicks off this whole thing, Solange's need for a fake relationship--to have her mother save face with their visiting Brazilian relatives--doesn't have quite the punch plot-wise as it could have. If Solange thought of her predicament from the get-go, instead of settling on her roommate, Brandon, it might've tied things together more. There's plenty of steam, but one scene seemed totally unnecessary for moving the plot along (A nemesis of Dean's tricking them into going to a party, leading to information that doesn't really add to the story.)
But if you fell in love with the Pereiras already (and all their wonderful Brazilian food), you'll like them here. There are some laugh-out-loud moments and once again, karaoke comes to the rescue to bump up the book's score--this time Dean pulling a "Magic Mike," with all the thrusting and grinding involved, rather than Max's broken-hearted wailing in "The Worst Best Man."

Did not keep my attention. The start was not interesting to me at all. I was really looking forward to this story.

I had a hard time getting into Mia Sosa's first novel, The Worst Best Man, so I wasn't sure if I'd like this one. The Wedding Crasher is an amazing sequel that features fake dating, fun characters, and realistic challenges. Thanks to NetGalley for the free ARC.

I found the opening to be very intriguing with Solange stopping Dean’s wedding. It instantly hooked me. I did find their sudden reason to be in each other’s world and to fake-date a bit too convenient. I wished it was more nuanced and natural. Overall loved the tension and banter between the two.

Fake relationship to real relationship is probably my favorite trope, but this one just didn’t do it for me. The characters were well written, and there was some good chemistry, but idk, I wasn’t emotionally invested in Solange and Dean. Also, I can’t stand it when the characters take forever to reach the “duh” factor. It was just “we’re not the right fit/ what the other is looking for” over and over and over. It got old fast. I did like that the characters were written realistically in terms of them acting their age and being mature, and I also really liked Solange’s family, how close knit they are and there for each other no matter what. And the last few chapters were great- made me like the book more.

The Wedding Crasher has sweetness, steam, and laughs. There's also some hilarious banter and a bit of drama.
Solange is assisting her wedding planner cousin with a wedding when she witnesses something shocking. It forces her to object the nuptials and begin to fake date the groom so he is able to make partner at his law firm.
Dean is a buttoned up, straight laced hero that we have the pleasure of watching learn how to loosen up. It is pure fun watching Solange enter his life and get thrust out of his comfort zone.
I really enjoy Solange as a female lead character. She's relatable, strong, and sweet- everything you want in a heroine.
Overall this was a cute book with a few little storylines that are a bit unlikely- but if you don't mind your rom-com's bending reality a bit, then you will enjoy this steamy, sweet story. And besides, who doesn't like the fake dating trope?!
Thank you NetGalley, Mia Sosna, and Avon for the advanced e-book

Oh, I loved this one so much!
We are following a character that I really wanted her story in the previous installment. The younger cousin, Solange. She goes to help at a wedding, only to find out the bride is in love with someone else in the wedding party.
After crashing into the groom, Dean, in the hallway, she realizes he deserves better. As well as the bride in love with someone else. (Would love that story if she ever wrote it!)
Right after that, Dean and Solange are both in need of a fake partner. Welcome the plot of this book! Things take on a fairly predictable rhythm for this kind of a story after that, woven with some lovely and unique to this story elements, like the aunties and all of the Brazilian food. (I was salivating, because I know how it tastes!) Also the lovely Brazilian Portuguese woven throughout. It's truly a lovely language. It warms my heart that Sosa puts her roots in these books.

Thank you so much to Avon and Netgalley for letting me read an eARC of The Wedding Crasher! This book has the same set of characters and setting as The Worst Best Man by Mia Sosa, which I read in 2020 and really enjoyed, so this is a follow up of sorts, but can definitely be read as a stand alone if you want.
The Wedding Crasher 4/5 Stars
Summary from Goodreads:
The USA Today bestselling author of The Worst Best Man is back with another hilarious rom-com about two strangers who get trapped in a lie and have to fake date their way out of it...
Just weeks away from ditching DC for greener pastures, Solange Pereira is roped into helping her wedding planner cousin on a random couple’s big day. It’s an easy gig... until she stumbles upon a situation that convinces her the pair isn’t meant to be. What’s a true-blue romantic to do? Crash the wedding, of course. And ensure the unsuspecting groom doesn’t make the biggest mistake of his life.
Dean Chapman had his future all mapped out. He was about to check off “start a family” and on track to “make partner” when his modern day marriage of convenience went up in smoke. Then he learns he might not land an assignment that could be his ticket to a promotion unless he has a significant other and, in a moment of panic, Dean claims to be in love with the woman who crashed his wedding. Oops.<br>Now Dean has a whole new item on his to-do list: beg Solange to be his pretend girlfriend. Solange feels a tiny bit bad about ruining Dean’s wedding, so she agrees to play along. Yet as they fake-date their way around town, what started as a performance for Dean’s colleagues turns into a connection that neither he nor Solange can deny. Their entire romance is a sham... there’s no way these polar opposites could fall in love for real, right?
I really liked The Wedding Crasher! Solange and Dean were such fun characters and I'm always such a sucker for the whole fake dating trope. I loved that they had to start their fake dating for Dean and his job but then they had to keep up the farce for Solange and her extended family. And of course, I love how close Solange and her family are. That was one of my favorite parts of The Worst Best Man as well. Solange and Dean were so different personality wise, but they fit together so well. They had amazing chemistry and banter, which I really enjoyed. The plot and pacing were really great too- never too slow or too fast. All in all, a really solid rom com that y'all should definitely go and check out!

Thank you to Netgalley and to Avon and Harper Voyager for a copy of The Wedding Crasher to review. I honestly really loved this book. It was fun, steamy, tension-filled, and realistic. The premise of the novel, while maybe just a tad bit far-fetched, felt new and fresh. I was a little concerned in the beginning of the novel that Dean, the male protagonist, would be too obnoxious and clueless but I was very happy with the character development he has throughout the story. And as a DC resident I loved all of the Washington DC references, they were specific and very relevant. Overall, I thought it was a really strong novel (with great Latinx representation from a Latinx author) that will make the perfect summer beach read for romance readers.

Since I"m not a huge fan of the fake dating trope, take this with a grain of salt... I did enjoy reading this, but the storyline just wasn't for me. However, the open door steamy scenes were definitely worth the read and pulled this along for those that are not fans of fake dating (which let's be honest, has anyone ever done in real life? Just communicate people!).

Solange is helping at a wedding when she hears the bride in a precarious situation. So, she stops the wedding. When Dan, the groom, needs a fake girlfriend to help him move forward at work, he enlists Solange. Solange finally agrees and of course, craziness and love occurs.
I enjoyed this book, but the storyline was a little out there for me. I enjoyed the romance of it and how it all worked out as it should.
Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

Thank you to the publisher and Net Galley for this review copy!
I absolutely loved this book. I am actually really starting to love this author, Mia Sosa. She comes up with the weirdest scenarios and I am absolutely here for it . Her first book was "has to work together with the fiancé-who-left-me-at-the-altar's brother" and then this one was "has to fake date the woman who objected at my wedding" which honestly, is so unrealistic but I LOVED IT. Like, I believed in this weird trope so hard reading it.
This is a romantic comedy, so there isn't much I want to say about the plot, BUT I do want to say something about the characters. Solange, our female POV, has already given up on finding the one and is trying instead to find her worth in what she puts out in the world and her work. She is trying to figure out if she wants to take a job in a different state or stay put and be more near her family. I love that she always kept that decision away from anything romantic and tried to figure it out for her, and for no one else.
Then we have our male POV, Dean, who is a lawyer trying to make partner. I feel like this is almost every trope when involving lawyers, but alas it works. He was marrying someone who "fit the goals of his life" instead of love, which is just crazy to me. So when that falls apart, he tries to still make partner by fake dating Solange.. and he has to work outside the box he gave himself.
I would highly recommend this author. At least this book and The Worst Best Man. They have both been really heart warming and hilarious!

I LOVED THIS BOOK!
I have never read a title by Mia Sosa so I was going in essentially blind. While I knew this was the second in a related “series” having not read the prior title did not in anyway effect my ability to enjoy it.
Solange and Dean are wonderful together, and the amount of spice (and some kink👀) was a welcome surprise!
I loved the family dynamics, loved the slow development of feelings, and honestly I just couldn’t get enough.
This was fake dating done correctly.
I loved the fact that the fake dating wasn’t one sided, they both needed each other for vastly different reasons and the struggle of everything colliding was just *chefs kiss.*
A more detailed review to come with my full post but I loved this one and can’t wait for more!

4.5 stars! I did not read book 1 but I did love book 2! the spice in this book was pretty good! Not like the forceful type of spice and I absolutely loved the dynamic between each of the characters! I recommend reading this book because I was feeling all sort of emotions and I think you all will too!

“The Wedding Crasher” by Mia Sosa
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Release Date: 4/5/22
Thank you Netgalley for this ARC! I absolutely loved this one. It pulled me in from the beginning and kept my interest the entire time.
Solange is helping her wedding planner cousin and her only job is to keep order. When she hears the bride confess her love for someone else in the stairwell she can’t seem to shake the dread. When the officiant asked if anyone objected Solange found herself raising her hand. The official wedding Crasher. She has to explain the conversation she overhears to the groom Dean. He explained in confidence that he was getting married out of convenience for the next step in his life.
Fast forward the next week when Dean finds himself needing a fake girlfriend to impress his Law Office for an assignment and now he finds himself in a bind. He needs a fake girlfriend for at least a couple weeks. The only person he can think to pull off the ruse is Solange. She does owe him for crashing his wedding. When Solange agrees he finds himself wanting to spend more and more time with her.

I really enjoyed this one! Bought a copy so I could read it again. Really fun drama and great, interesting characters!

So I think I like this more than the first one. This book seals the deal Mia Sosa is now an auto-buy author for me.
Solange crashes a wedding that in all honesty never should have happened, she meets Dean the groom. Dean is a lawyer with set goals that he had meticulously planned out including not actually marrying for love.
Solange is so scared of making a bad decision she never wanted anything long-term. Solange had plans to leave the DC area at the end of summer.
To impress Dean's bosses he needs an S.O. to help sway a potential associate to the law firm and the first person to come to mind is Solange. Solange needs a pretend boyfriend to keep her intrusive cousins from annoying her mother about her life choices. So fake relationship trope, one bed, and a spur of the moment trip to Vegas ( it's not what you think).
I loved this book. If you have read the first one there is a couple of easter eggs that I found so adorable.
