Give me all the Mia Sosa books .. cause I'm here for them. This is part of a series but this one can be read as a standalone just fine. I'm obsessed with the Pereira family and all the aunts and cousins! The thing I love about Mia's writing is that you can guarantee you're going to love the banter between characters. The tension between Dean and Solange is a slow-burn buildup, and when things finally work out, it's smoking hot.
Once I picked up this book I COULD NOT put it down, I am a sucker for Fake Relationships and One Bed, because of course when you lie about dating someone you get forced to share a bed.

Thanks so much to Avon for the opportunity to review this book. This was such a fun romance! I greatly enjoyed it.

This books is so fun, right from the first page! The chemistry between the characters is expertly crafted and I can’t recommend it highly enough!

I received this book as an eARC from Netgalley and I ATE IT UP!
We've got fake-dating, opposites attract, one-bed, slow burn, friends to lovers! The book takes place in Washington, D.C., which is one of my favorite places in the U.S.! I could definitely picture some of the scenes and it was a refreshing place for a romcom!
Solange Pereira offers to help her cousin with her first wedding that she planned, She stumbles upon the bride in. compromising conversation with one of the groomsmen before the wedding and feels conflicted on whether or not to say something. As the wedding progresses, Solange decides she cant stay quiet and stops the wedding. Turns out, the bride and groom were going to enter a marriage of convenience as Dean Chapman, the groom, has a checklist of how his life should pan out.
Dean is a lawyer on his way to partnership and getting married was next on his list to cross off. With the wedding called off, Dean is now in a pickle as the law firm needs him and another colleague to swoon a potential new candidate to join their firm. With partnership within his grasps, he tells them he's actually dating Solange and can handle the task of wining and dining the female big time lawyer and her partner.
Solange, a brilliant American Brazilian, who is in the last few weeks of her fellowship working with adult students to obtain their GED. She has an offer to move to Ohio for a permanent position and is on track to just that. That is, until Dean tells her about his situation and she feels guilty for crashing his wedding!
Soon, the two end up in some situations that not only strengthen their friendship, but show them glimpses of what life could be like if they both dropped their guards and allowed themselves to fall in love with each other.
The banter was top tier, the inside jokes ( When Harry Met Sally) were perfect, and their slow burn romance was perfection. And don't worry, there's a twist, or two at the end to keep you on the edge of your seat wanting more!
Thank you Netgalley and Avon for the chance to read this great book!

After reading The Worst Best Man, I anticipated this would be a fun read. It was and yet I still had no idea what I was getting into. This book had so much going on and as soon as I thought we were in for a chill, low steam read I was quickly proven wrong. Fake dating for work tropes gives me so much nervous energy but my quick obsession with Dean and Solange helped with that. Solange believes in love. Dean does not see love factoring into his life plan. That’s okay though because this is totally just a favor then they will part ways😉
“As I watch Dean leave the karaoke room, I sway to the music, pretending I’m completely unaffected by him even though that couldn’t be further from the truth. From here on out, I should be addressed as Solange of House Perreira, the Worst of Her Name, Queen of the Liars, Breaker of Vows and Mother of Bad Ideas. I’m trying to resist my attraction for him, though. God, I’m really, really trying.”
I swear those two were going to kill me. The chemistry! The denial! The playfulness! The flirting! Both of them trying to protect themselves in different ways, yet structured plans destined to fly right out the window. The surprise gems throughout this book are just chef kiss. Not to be vague but I am trying to avoid spoilers here. Just you wait! A little memorable karaoke anyone? All of this and we get to spend more time with Solange and Lina’s family. Let’s just say this “scheme” is definitely a team effort.
The return of Lina and Max was a highlight as well and I can’t wait to see more of all of these characters. Hopefully in Jaslene’s story. I need Jaslenes book next! “Jaslene may be sweet, but she’s no pushover. Her vibe is a delightfully terrifying blend of “kill’em with kindness” energy and “I’ll cut a bitch” swagger.”

This book has my entire heart! I loved Solange and Dean so so so much. They knew themselves so well and had such an amazing chemistry. I loved hearing from the Tias again and how Sosa incorporated Lina and Max in the story. One of my favorite parts was how Sosa made you feel like you were part of the Solange’s family. You knew all the secrets and the low down but somehow it didn’t take away from the story. Give me all the Portuguese please! I love when books don’t translate for us! It was hilarious, steamy and swoony- what more could you want?!

So, this was cute. I liked Dean and Solange but I was not wowed by the story. However, i think this is definitely a me problem and now a book problem.

This was one of my most anticipated releases in 2022. The first book featuring this cast of characters, The Worst Best Man, cracked me up. Seriously, I was laughing out loud at work and sneak reading between clients. I could not put it down. Inject that kind of romantic comedy straight into my veins.
The Wedding Crasher features Solange Pereira and Dean Chapman, cousin to the FMC and best friend to the MMC in The Worst Best Man. When the book opens Solange is helping out her wedding planner cousin and overhears the bride and one of the groomsmen having an intimate conversation about hidden feelings. Her cousin wants her to stay quiet, but she speaks up during the ceremony and this ultimately means the end of Dean and his soon-to-be wife’s big day.
A short time later Dean is in need of a favor for work, a new lawyer is moving into the area and his firm is desperate to hire her. So single Dean invents a girlfriend that can help him schmooze the client at a few events and dinners. He naturally thinks of Solange and she agrees to help him out.
I will say that I wasn’t sure The Wedding Crasher had the same magic as The Worst Best Man at first. It wasn’t until about 20% or so in when Dean and Solange actually begin to go on their planned outings that I began to really enjoy myself. And smile and laugh out loud. One particular scene where they find themselves at an unexpected party which then leads to another hilarious family event had me chuckling. This author really knows how to combine her awkward and silly moments with fun banter.
Dean and Solange really are made for each other. Both were raised by single mothers, but with different childhoods. Dean’s mother latched on to men and moved from relationship to relationship, and as a result, Dean has no room for love in his life. He would rather have an understanding with his wife of what goals they want to achieve, like being made partner, than find himself vulnerable to emotion. Solange, on the other hand, was raised by a woman who was essentially abandoned by her partner and then focused all her love and time on her daughter. So Solange wants someone who is willing to give her 100%.
Despite all that through their fake dating, this couple slowly gets to know each other, moving first to friendship and then to love. And I 100% enjoyed watching them do it. They were so much fun and the secondary characters lend such wonderful support to them.
This is yet another entertaining, lovely romantic comedy from Mia Sosa. She is one of the few authors I trust when an upcoming release is labeled ‘romantic comedy’. Her books are just so much fun to read. If you are looking for an amusing, yet sexy romance you should give it a try.

First off, I really enjoyed this book!
I loved the dynamic and hilarious conversation between our heroin and hero through the book. I also enjoyed that they brought in our heroins (Solange) Brazilian culture, strong female examples of independence and vulnerability.
The book starts with our heroin, Solange, as she assists her family with a wedding they planned. Through a strange turn of events Solange ends up stopping the wedding and the bride and groom do not get married. From there the story evolves into fake relationships and the love story slowly evolves.
The beginning was a slow start for me, but push through, it is well worth it!

Thank you to NetGalley for providing the arc for my review!

I absolutely love this book. The Wedding Crasher has one of my favorite tropes in it, fake dating. I loved Solange, and the whole story was truly written out very well! Be sure to grab your copy.

I LOVE MIA SOSA’S BOOKS !!! This series specifically. I’m PRAYING AND HOPING AND UNABASHEDLY BEGGING for her to continue this series and give us J’s book!! I loved Dean and Solange. I loved Max and Lina’s pop ups. I loved seeing more of the Tia’s and loved seeing both of the character’s developments!! 4.5 stars mhm !!

Solange is one of my all time favorite heroines. She is true to her self, and almost honest to a fault. Dean is so turned around with where he should be in life finding himself has taken a back seat. Watching Solange and Dean move from running to rat race to finding love and what truly matters was a wonderful read.

I knew I was going to love this book because I loved book 1 in this series. This installment sees Solange, cousin to Lina from The Worst Best Man, crashing a wedding to prevent Dean, the groom, from making what she thinks will be a terrible mistake. What comes next is a flurry of hijinks, each more ridiculous than the last, as Solange and Dean engage in some mutually beneficial fake dating.
The magic of these books is really in the character building. On their face, Solange and Dean seem like polar opposites. She is free spirited and has a hard time putting down roots, while he craves roots so much that he was ready to make a lifetime commitment to someone he didn’t love just to feel secure. They are perfect for each other because although their actions are so different, their motivations come from a very similar place. They have both resolved to be self reliant to avoid the pain of abandonment. The characters’ families are a very important piece of this picture, and they are seamlessly woven into the fabric of the story.
The only issue I had with this book is that some parts of the plot were a bit far-fetched. I expect to suspend disbelief when reading a romance, even a contemporary romance, but sometimes a plot can be so distracting that it takes you out of the story when all you want is to be wrapped up in the universe of the book. Overall, however, I enjoyed the story a lot and will be looking forward to the next one.

we love a fake dating trope! After reading The worst Best Man, i was very excited to read the second book and it did not disappoint. Mia Sosa is fantastic at writing funny moments and this book did not fail at making me laugh out loud a few times. Dean and Solange were total opposites that worked so well! Solange wants a partner that is all in. Dean is a workaholic that sees love as a weakness. Despite it all they find a way and have great moments while doing it. They start fake dating after Solange crashes his wedding and Dean needs to save his job. I loved seeing Lina and Max and the family again. There were some parts that were slow going in terms of pacing and getting through but overall it was an enjoyable read!
Thank you to Netgalley for the ARC

I didn't love this book to be honest. The pacing was strange and I didn't necessarily feel connected to the characters and their story. Usually I'm obsessed with fake dating but I couldn't get into it unfortunately. I have enjoyed Mia Sosa's work in the past, but this book definitely let me down.

This book is the type of romcom that’s absolute catnip to a reader like me: quick, witty, clever, bright, peppy, an often sardonic sense of humor, and a sly dash of snark peppered in at all the right times. I’ve read a few different 5 star romcoms this year already, and this one has more heart and more outright chuckle-worthy moments than them all.
Usually I’d go through the whole spiel about plot arcs and characterizations and setting… But here, with this novel, I just want to talk about the dialogue.
Sosa writes the type of fast and sharp dialogue that reminds me of if Aaron Sorkin wrote romcoms. The kind of humor that’s so witty and clever you need to travel along with it, only pausing when the punchlines and laugh-out-loud moments punch you lightly in the jaw or make your shoulders shake in complete amusement. I found myself sometimes just stopping and basking in the way a joke or line landed just so perfectly.
Shortly: You won’t be let down with any of the spice or tension in this book, either. It’s realistic, hot, and dirtier than I expected. Which is such a good thing.
This isn’t an atmospheric book or a book strong on prose. It’s not exactly a character-driven novel either. It’s a plot-driven romantic comedy that piled a diverse, adorable, and highly amusing cast of characters into a clown car and then drove it merrily down the street while the rest of us are left wishing we were half as brilliant as these people and also being reminded of why we love romantic comedies so much.
So roll around in this book. Soak up its brilliance and savvy. Read it more than once. It’s more than worth it.
Thanks to NetGalley and Avon & Harper Voyager for early access to this title in exchange for a fair and honest review.

I'm a big fan of Mia Sosa and this was such a fun read! What I loved: the title characters, the fake dating trope, the family and delicious food. What I didn't like: A little to many events going on and popping up for my taste.
Thank you to #netgalley for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

OMG OMG OMG!! I loved this book. Mia Sosa is official an auto- buy author for me as I loved her last book. This book had it all great chemistry, humor, banter, and representation. I thought the story was fun and enjoyed it from start to end. I could not put this one down.

Thank you NetGalley, Avon, and Mia Sosa for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review! This was honestly such a fun book and I loved it. It made me laugh out loud and I was invested in the relationship between Solange and Dean.
This book starts with Solange stopping Dean’s wedding after persuading the bride to tell the truth about her feelings. Solange and Dean then start to rely on one another as they start “fake dating” to help one another out. They’re completely different people, but I loved seeing them get to know each other better and start to develop feelings!
This book was super entertaining and included a lot of funny scenes. I was surprised at the funny twists throughout and they kept me on the edge of my seat. The side characters were also amazing and I loved learning more about Solange and Dean’s families. Speaking of, the cultural aspects were also fantastic!
Overall, this is a stunning romantic comedy. I recommend it for fans of the genre because it’s funny, smart, and sweet. 4.5 stars!

Really loved this fake-dating rom com! Solange is helping out at the wedding that her cousin is organizing when she stumbles into information that she thinks that she should let the groom know. She halts the wedding to tell him that he shouldn't get married. Dean is all ready for a marriage of convenience and isn't too upset to find out that his wedding isn't necessarily going to work out. Back at work, he finds out that he needs a girlfriend to improve his chances for a promotion and someone how the wedding crasher comes to mind. Some reviewers have remarked that they didn't feel the chemistry between the main characters-I didn't have that issue. There are lots of steamy scenes. I also like that while both characters had some personal growth to do, they were able to have functional conversations about their feelings while doing so. The best part of this story was Solange's extended family-their Brazilian heritage and strong family bonds provided for a lot of fun (and also intriguing cuisine!). I didn't realize that this book was the second for this author-so the reader need not have read the preceding book. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC in return for my honest review.
