ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed how this story started off and the different woman’s perspectives you get throughout the book. Each of them are dealing with their own problems and past trauma and it seems easier to divert the attention to others than to look within yourself. The writing style kept me engaged the entire time, I only gave it 4 stars because the ending felt predictable to me and I was hoping it would be a little more complex. Definitely a nice little distraction if you’re into mysteries that revolve around multiple female leads.

Little rumours is an exceptionally good storyline. It’s a slow starter until Mia disappears. All family members have a different tale to tell. A page turner to the end

After the girl on the platform being one of my favourite thrillers last week I knew I needed this, and it didn’t disappoint. It started quite slow with me wondering what was going on, but suddenly little Mia disappeared. This book leaves you guess who has her and what has happened until the very end

Really well written with a plot that keeps tension throughout as the intrigue and jeopardy build and secrets are revealed. Great characters and a great story - I really enjoyed it and would read more from this author.

Thanks Netgalley for the ARC.

Chloe Davis is a child psychologist in Baton Rouge. But Chloe Davis is also the daughter of a serial killer who murdered six young girls, whose bodies were never found, when she was twelve. Jailed for life and the lives of her mother and brother also destroyed Chloe has managed to find love and is due to be married but can she ever escape her fathers crimes.

When two girls go missing, one of them Chloe's patient, on the 20th anniversary of the killings is it just Chloe's drug fueled paranoia at work or something more sinister? As the past catches up with the present can Chloe find out what happened to connect the two sets of murders?

A real page turner. I couldn't put it down. Highly recommended.

I was impressed, this is my first Bryony Pearce novel, and I couldn’t have enjoyed it more.

I was absorbed, I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. I look forward to reading more of Pearce’s work.

Thank you so much to Netgalley and the publisher for kindly gifting me this book, I am stoked to have found another author to enjoy.

Set in a West country village and told from three mothers' viewpoints. The women aren't friends, but their children are, and when one of the children goes missing, they become the focus of the community and media. The three women are unreliable protagonists, so whilst the reader gets to know their thoughts, it is not clear whether their perceptions are accurate.

Gently paced, poignant and suspenseful, this character-driven story explores contemporary issues through its believably flawed characters and relatable events.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher.

One of the best books I’ve read in a long time. This book got me out of my reading slump and I was reading until the early hours. If only we didn’t need sleep I’d have finished it in one day. Highly recommended.

A small Devon village may appear an odd setting for a contemporary crime thriller. But as this fictional account of three women who live in the village proves, iniquity exists even in the most peaceful of places. In this thriller, we encounter fictional lone parent Kelly and her son Joe, career woman Aleema, who shares her life with husband Noah and their daughter Mia, and Naomi, mother to Leon, who compensates for her husband’s Martin’s frequent absences by throwing herself into village life. Joe, Leon and Mia are the best of friends, so when teenager fails to come home from school, their mothers are forced to engage with each other, a development that will have devastating consequences.

I enjoyed this thriller because all of the characters were relatable and were written with real depth. The plot almost became secondary to me as I tried to understand fictitious Kelly, Aleema and Naomi’s motives better, but it is a well-designed plot. If you have not read any of Bryony Pearce’s books before, I would recommend you give this a try as you will not be disappointed.

Thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this fantastic book. Very well written, with good characters and told from multiple points of view. It was gripping from the start with tension building as the book went on. Hooked me from start to finish and I highly recommend it!

This book was better than I expected, I thought it was going to be fun but it was really good. At the beginning the story was a little confusing due to the multiple points of view and it took me a little longer than expected to really understand what was going on. When I thought I knew what was happening next boommmm the story went took another direction.

A slow build but really good!

A bit of a slow burn so I was disappointed by the pace. A good storyline overall, and the pace does start to pick up towards the middle. Lots of twists and suspense. A good book and clever writing.

Well... what a read! It was brilliantly written and I needed to know what had happened from just reading the first chapter. I liked how we got to find out what happened - in both the past and present. It did keep me guessing though in places as I too had felt like it was all falling into place with the 'evidence' we had been given!

This is by far the best book I have read for a long time. Such a gripping story that keeps you guessing the plot till near the end. Three mother's whose children are best friends are all hiding secrets and when one of their children disappears apparently into thin air the rumours start to circulate and past lives become exposed, whipping up a frenzy of speculation and hatred. Such an excellent psychological thriller that will keep you reading into the early hours

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, the author writes extremely well and her characters really come to life, the plotline too is really absorbing and leaves you guessing right to the end.
I liked that the children weren't secondary characters, sensitive intuitive and loyal Leon, the pain and suffering yet empathy of Joe, and the glittering butterfly of Mia.
I really felt the horror and pain of Aleema, she was such an interesting character and I found reading about her Muslim faith both interesting and educational. The author apologises at the end if anyone feels that in writing her character she is guilty of cultural appropriation, but I honestly feel that in writing Aleema as she did she has done so sensitively and thoughtfully and I enjoyed learning a little about her life and her faith, we shouldn't be afraid of that I feel..
A really great book, highly recommend.

Thank you to Avon Books, UK for letting me read and eARC of Little Rumours!

This was my first thriller of the year and it did not disappoint! I'm normally not a fan of different viewpoints in a story but Bryony Pearce did an excellent job of differentiating between Naomi, Aleema, and Kelly. From the start I wasn't too big a fan of Naomi or Kelly, and I honestly felt really bad for Aleema. Just because she comes from a different background than everyone else in the town, doesn't mean that she should be "shunned" in a way from being friends with anyone. As the story went on and we were seeing how everyone pulled together to try and find Aleema's daughter kind of made up for them being so rude to her, but it still didn't make it ok. I have to say though, who I thought took her the entire time and who it ended up being definitely shocked me! I was not expecting that at all. I can't wait to see what Bryony comes out with next!
