This is absolutely my favourite Emily Henry book to date. While all of them are hard to put down this one was nearly impossible. I'm sold pretty easily on an good enemies to lovers storyline, but the chemistry Henry created between Nora and Charlie was something else. I also loved the dynamic between Nora and Libby and the way she wrote that relationship to exist as the real heart and soul of the book. I've recommended this to all my friends and can't wait to for her next book.

Book Lovers by Emily Henry charms and delights readers with witty banter, interesting and complicated characters, and so many swoon-worthy moments. Like all of Henry’s novels, Book Lovers gives readers everything they could possibly want from a romance novel—heart and soul. Once a reader starts Nora and Charlie’s story—it is almost impossible to put down.

EMILY HENRY HAS DONE IT AGAIN. vibes = immaculate! I think this book would've been my favorite if it was not for the annoying sister. She drove me crazy. The romance itself though? SO good! I love a good Southern lumberjack reference, and this book had SO many. Overall just a phenomenal concept in a gorgeous and unique setting.

Book Lovers is such a refreshing read, to me. I was absorbed from the beginning; I love the acknowledgment of ridiculous romance tropes (but that we all still love) and I especially love that this book didn't follow any of the traditional tropes. The chemistry, bantering, and emotional vulnerability of the characters in the books really keep you involved in the outcome of the story. I also love that even though the perspective of the novel is only from Nora's POV, you still feel that emotional vulnerability from the other characters. In short, I loved it.

A book about book people! If you loved Emily Henry’s first two books then you will LOVE this one! Great mix of romance and characters you really care about. Will definitely be recommending this one!

Great twist on a well-tread/known plot! Loved the characters in this and couldn't stop picturing the plot playing out in my head. Loved the sister storyline.

Vey fun for romance fans and book enthusiasts! Good characters and excellent descriptions of the town.

I loved this booked so, so much. I especially loved the winky romance tropes, but I also appreciated the sisterly relationship and the mature discussion of love vs. following a dream career. More please, Emily Henry :-)
My review on Goodreads:
4 stars rated as a rom-com. 3 if being super critical and lit snobby 😊. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, even when the romance took a back seat to the sisters. Thank you Netgalley for the ARC. I will suggest this to anyone looking for a book that will make them smile, feel the butterflies of a budding romance, and make time move breezily like at the beach, on a plane, etc.

Not Emily Henry's very best, but she's still an automatic read author for me. The characters are warm, relatable (though they of course think themselves weirdos), and funny. The idea of trying to live out a small town romance novel plot is winning if familiar. I'd recommend Beach Read or People We Meet on Vacation over this to anyone who hasn't read her yet, but still a top-drawer contemporary romance!

Emily Henry's latest book is a must-read! I was hooked from the first page, and I never wanted the book to end.
5 stars! You won’t want to miss this one!

Emily Henry does it again, while there were some formatting issues I did not enjoy such as lack of quotations for speech, the story itself was phenomenal and you can’t help but to root for this couple!

From the first paragraph, I knew this book would be a good one. I immersed myself into the book from the first chapter and I cannot say enough good things about this book! Honestly amazing! The writing is incredible and the plot is just one to die for. I am absolutely obsessed with this book. My favorite part would have to be the character development throughout the book. Character development is something I look forward to and this book did not disappoint.

This may be my favorite Emily Henry book to date. The banter, lighthearted nature and perfection of the romance presented thoroughly absorbed and entertained me with every page. Perhaps my love for this story comes in the love I have in my heart for all things books, reading and literary in nature. However, I believe my allure with this book goes beyond this and lies in the fact of the superb nature in which it is written. I don't want to give away too much because I think going into this story without any expectation of specifics is the best way to experience the beauty of it. All I can say is that I cannot think of anyone who would not enjoy this reading experience. That speaks literal literary volumes. Read it....buy a copy for a friend....you won't be disappointed. I cannot recommend it enough!

I had heard of Henry's last two books, but have never been a fan of the "meet cute" genre so haven't read them. When I was generously given a review copy of this book I figured I'd at least check it out and wow I'm so glad that I did! Henry had me at the intro when Nora explains that she too has never been a fan of the meet cute and it just got better from there. I loved Henry's writing style with a heavy dose of snark mixed with a cute that isn't too cutesy. I laughed out loud throughout the book at the dialogue and situations that the Nora and Libby or Nora and Charlie get into. A giant thank you to Berkley/Random House and to NetGalley for expanding my reading to include this book.

Another winner from Emily Henry, prickly literary agent Nora and scowling editor Charlie clash upon first meeting. Meanwhile, Nora's beloved sister Libby is feeling distant, so Nora agrees to go on a month long trip to a small town in North Carolina which just happens to be the setting of Libby's favorite rom-com book. Who turns up there, running the bookstore? Charlie. LIfe is more complicated than a set of romantic tropes, and Nora and Charlie's exploration of their relationship leads to a satisfying conclusion. Sharp, witty dialogue, comedic and well-rounded supporting characters and slow process of learning to trust make this title a winner.

I really loved Nora and Charlie. They're a great couple and I really really really loved the ending. They had great banter and the spice was *chefs kiss*
However.
I never fully got into it. I was able to put it down after an hour/hour and a half of reading and not think about it any further. It was violently just ok. I know this book is going to grab someone and not let go, but that someone is not me. I also loved the references to January, the leading lady of Beach Read.
This was good. The characters were great, and there were a lot of elements I really liked and even loved. I just don't think this is for me (which is usually how I feel about a lot of romance books!)

I think I may have loved this more than Beach Read. Book Lovers takes so many of my favorite tropes and turns them on their head. There's a sense of whimsy there, but beneath the whimsy is some real truthful seeming revelations. I really loved Charlie and Nora and I can't wait for it to be available for everyone else to read too. Give to fans of Kate Clayborn and Lucy Parker's Battle Royal.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book!!!
Nora (after Nora Ephron) feels like she is a living embodiment of a romance novel trope — except that she never gets the guy.
This novel is the fun romance that we have come to know from Emily Henry. The plot has enough gentle twists and turns to avoid predictability and the characters are deep, drawing from their childhood experiences and traumas. The witty banter is fun and playful without feeling forced.
Thank you Berkley and Netgalley for this ARC!

Thanks Netgalley for allowing me to read this book! The title and this beautiful cover drew me in and i was excited to read this book! I will be recommending this book to others for readers advisory.

Holy guacamole. I loved this book.
This rom-com had me laughing out loud, crying, then laughing again. It also makes fun of every single romance trope, and it 👏🏻 was 👏🏻 awesome 👏🏻
I’m usually pretty hesitant for hyped books, but this one deserves all of the hype. I am definitely buying a physical copy to reread this!!!
It also talks about the characters in Beach Read, which I thought was really neat!
The main characters were so perfect, relatable and lovable. And the love interest wasn’t controlling (thank you!!) and didn’t expect her to change, which was so refreshing! The relationship between her and Libby was done so well. I felt like I grew up with them, watched them grieve and become who they are today. I also appreciated that it didn’t focus on the characters in the town, just those critical to the story. It didn’t take away the small town (flannel and Daisy dukes!) feel, but made the story flow better.
5⭐️ for this incredible book! Thanks Berkley Publishing and NetGalley for my early copy!
