It wasn’t my favorite read by Emily Henry but I loved the setting and the ending! It made me think back to my own trip to Asheville, NC. I liked the trip the sisters took together and how the characters developed.
Sweet, heartwarming, tender, & sometimes hilarious, and steamy, Book Lovers was a delight. I tore through it, and had a hard time putting it down. Honestly? It was almost the perfect rom com, and I had so much FUN reading it. Nora, Charlie, and Libby were such compelling characters, and so really loved getting to know them!
This was a really fun book for any reader, but especially book lovers, and book industry people - featuring a tender and heartfelt story, and a romance that filled my stomach with butterflies. Loved it, and can’t wait for other people to love it too.
There were a few passages i loved so much I screenshotted them to re-read them. This was delightful!
I absolutely loved this book along with Emily Henry's other books. Especially that this one was an enemies-to-lovers situation, that is one of my favorites! Nora is a completely relatable character, having to deal with so much in her life and feeling like she cannot have any fun. I loved her relationship with her sister, and how she fell in love with Charlie over the time she spent in Sunshine Falls. This was just an overall great comfort read, and I am for sure going to purchase it and read it again.
When I think romance, Emily Henry is the author that comes to mind! Her books keep getting better and Book Lovers is no exception!
The chemistry between the characters, Nora and Charlie steams off the page. This enemies to lovers trope felt fresh. I couldn’t stop laughing at their dialogue. The witty banter kept the plot moving. I could read their emails all day. Having Nora let her guard down with Charlie was beyond sweet. Lastly, Emily nails the dynamics of being an older sibling as well as finding what you want to do and leaning into that.
Books Lovers is a 5 star read! I can’t wait to get my hands a hard copy to reread!
I really don't know where to start. It was perfect. I laughed, I cried, I gasped. I couldn't put it down but I didn't want it to end, so I forced myself to put it down, but I really couldn't put it down.
Nora and Charlie are wonderfully written and developed characters, and their interactions are, just, perfect. Libby, Nora's younger sister, is one of the best supporting characters I've read in a while, and I was fully invested in her story too, though nothing else going on ever felt distracting from the romance, or vice versa. It all fits together. Honestly, besides being a fan of books, I don’t really have much in common with any of the characters, but that literally did not matter in how much I cared about them or how much I was affected by what happened to them.
It's all together one grand story about love, about being there for each other, about learning what others need, learning what you need, learning to let yourself have it. It's a "I'm realizing you’re not who I thought you were, they’re not who I thought they were, I’m not who I thought I am,” and figuring out what to do with that. It’s never the right time, until it is, it’s never the right person, until it is, it’s never the right ending, until it is, it’s never the right way to fix things, until it is. Emily Henry has masterfully crafted a story that picks you up and spins you around and then in the end, completely settles you.
I really enjoyed this! This was the first Emily Henry romance I’d picked up and I can’t wait to go back and read her others! This book was well written and heartfelt. I loved the relationships that were shown, not just the romance but familial ones as well. Henry uses some beloved romance tropes but let’s us in on it. Nora and Charlie felt so real and we rooted for them the whole time. Not to mention the other romance of a world of books and people who love books like we do. I can’t wait to recommend this!
So this book will live in my heart for a long time. I adored our main characters, family members, and the townspeople of Sunshine Falls. This book is full of wit, charm, banter and characters that you just want to hang out with forever. A Literary Agent and an editor who have hated each other is just the perfect enemies to lovers for book fans! I honestly can’t properly put into words how happy this book made me.
I loved everything about this book! Emily Henry’s books are sweet, funny, and steamy! I look forward to reading more books by her!
Sweet and spicy. Lovable, well rounded characters. Great chemistry between the main characters. Fleshed out, likeable side characters. All the makings of a great contemporary rom com. The relationship between the sisters was especially sweet.
HEADLINE: I loved this book.
This is my 4th Emily Henry book and I can safely say that I'm a big fan. BIG. Thanks to @netgalley and @berkleypub for the early copy. (PUB 05.03)
I read this a couple weeks ago and I've already returned to revisit my favorite passages. It was that good.

* From the structure to word choice, Henry builds the story with snappy dialogue, intention and keen observation.
* The two main characters- Nora and Charlie work in publishing. Editors, authors, agents- a book featuring books is always a good idea.
* A beautiful look at sisterhood
* Big city (NYC) and small town (Sunshine Falls) vibes
* Characters were well-developed, genuine and easy to root for.
*The wit and humor paired with heartwarming, realistic elements of navigating relationships- both new and established.
* 🍆🍆+ Slow burn with oh-so-good tension
* A pitch perfect ending AND an epilogue.
* Nearly every.little.thing

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
3.5 stars
This book had some really great moment and others moments that were more 'meh'. I think the biggest miss for me was believing that Nora was a "shark" like she and supposedly others describe her. It's not giving anything of the storyline away to say that she is dedicated to her work and that work is a big part of who she is, but since the story is told in her perspective, the shark factor doesn't come across. If this part of her personality was portrayed differently, I think the romance and the storyline would have had more impact.
Still, I liked the banter between Nora and Charlie. I liked the relationship between Nora and her sister, Libby. I liked that there was something happening with Libby, but we weren't allowed to know exactly what. I liked the small town and how it didn't live up to its hype. There were enough side characters introduced that I can see this becoming a series. Let's see if I'm right.
This was my first Emily Henry book and it was a big turn off. I made it 8% into Book Lovers when there was a quote that I could not push past "Birth is kind of like death.. death of the self." I thought this was in very poor taste especially since it seems Ms. Henry is not a mother herself so is not coming from a place where she should have such a strong opinion. As a mother myself I feel this was offensive and attempted to keep reading but could not considering it was integral to pushing the plot along.
Emily Henry does it again with another bookish romance! Nora isn't known for having a personal life and that's okay by her, as long as she takes care of her sister, Libby. Besides, who needs love when every relationship you've had is cursed?
Henry always creates great settings for her stories to take place in and this book is no exception. Sunshine Falls is the small town Nora should hate, but its shops are all hilariously named, and it is full of a diverse cast of characters. The relationship between Nora and Libby was also done extremely well and was one of my favorite aspects of the book.
The romance in this was amazing to watch unfold and it is definitely a slow burn semi-enemies to lovers. Nora and Charlie are complex and deeply written, making it all the more satisfying to watch their love bloom. I wasn't sure Emily Henry could top "The People We Meet on Vacation" but this is definitely my new favorite book of hers!
Thank you to the publisher for approving this arc for me!
Enjoyed this upcoming novel by Emily Henry. Had some surprises in the storyline. Recommend it. Thanks NetGalley for the advanced copy. #NetGalley # BookLovers
THANK YOU to Berkley and NetGalley for giving me an ARC of this in exchange for a review!
I saw that this was on NetGalley and was SO excited when the publisher approved my request to read it. I love People We Meet on Vacation and absolutely *adore* Beach Read so I couldn't wait to get my hands on Book Lovers.
I'll admit that I started this book like a month ago and never made it through the initial exposition --I always have to force myself to get through the first part of romance books before the suspense and adorableness kicks in so I did fall victim to that. But I wouldn't say that's the books fault lol, when I picked it back up it took approximately 10 more pages before I was hooked!
I really love Nora and Charlie. They're interesting and complex characters, which is one thing I love about Emily Henry because her books are more or less realistic. I related to both of them a lot; Nora's control-oriented like I frequently am, and Charlie is so introverted that he sometimes seems hard to approach, which is definitely true of me too. Getting to learn more about both of them and what informed their actions was so lovely.
I'm not going to spoil anything BUT I will say that I cried for like 15 minutes reading the last bit. Don't worry, it ends really well! I would say the crying is a good indicator of how much I loved this book and the characters. (The only other tiny spoiler I'll give is that there were a couple of Beach Read references that I was probably too excited about finding.)
I cannot wait until May so everyone reads this and I have tons of people to talk about it with ahhh!
It could just be the librarian longing for a jet set life of books as a publisher, and it could be the librarian yearning for a book store that no one comes to for quiet, but I loved this book. I know - neither of those things was the point and yet I loved it.
This is a sweet and raspy love story, an enemies to lovers set in a hallmark movie. I loved the characters and the family and the parties. It was a joy!
Thanks to NetGalley for the early look.
Thank you NetGallery for the ARC of "Book Lovers". Emily Henry has done it again. "Book Lovers' is a rom-com romance. It's a quick fast paced read. The story is filled with witty exchanges that had me laughing aloud. I loved the banter between Nora and Charlie. Also, I enjoyed the relationship between Nora and her sister Libby. I would recommend "Book Lovers". "Book Lovers" would make the perfect beach read.
This is my favorite Emily Henry book. The characters, plot and setting all come together to make a really fun and interesting read. Nora is a literary agent who is a bit burned out. Her pregnant sister Libby talks her into a month away in a small southern town that was the setting for Libby's favorite book, hoping Nora can meet "the love of her life". Instead of a small town hunk, she keeps running into Charlie, a book editor she has butted heads with many times in her job. He lives in the small town and is there to help his family. Libby has a bucket list for Nora to fulfill while they are there and while checking off boxes, Nora and Charlie develop a romance. This story is a mix of serious and fun, family drama and romance. I really enjoyed the story and the twist at the end. If you haven't been a huge fan of Emily Henry before, I think this book may change your mind. It's a good one..
I love Emily Henry! Fans of Beach Read and People We Meet on Vacation will not be disappointed in Book Lovers! Don't expect a run of the mill "romance" novel from Emily Henry, she brings so much to the genre!
I loved this book! As someone who is familiar with the Hallmark movie formula, I was a fan of the tropes in the book. Emily Henry has done it again!
