I personally love a good book about people who love books, and this story delivered all that a good read should. Emily Henry created absolute magic here. She seems to be getting better and better with each new release and this one more or less owns me.
Book Lovers was so heartfelt and vulnerable. She crafts and cracks these characters wide open and she brings forth all of their insecurities, their quirks, their flaws and shows you who they are. You can't help but fall for Nora and Charlie, you can't help but root for them. I honestly could not put this book down! It was all so beautifully done and I was truly sad when the story came to an end.

Favorite Emily Henry novel so far, hands down. I didn't think it would be possible after loving Beach Read so much, but Book Lovers added in a laugh out loud quality that Beach Read didn't have. I cackled throughout this book at the banter between Nora and Charlie in this dislike to love romance. This book doesn't follow the stereotypical format of a true romance (even though there is a HEA) so I'm more inclined to call it women's lit/women's fiction with a romance element to it than pure romance - but don't let that deter you.
Book Lovers also brings in romance in the context of the publishing world, Nora is a literary agent and Charlie is an editor so they are thrown together to work on a big project for a huge author in the company. I love reading books about books, it's so very meta and the publishing world is a dream of mine to be in.
I didn't personally love the aspect of Libby, Nora's sister, and her plot line. I won't say much because it would be spoiler-y but there is a decent amount of manipulation involved and I'm never a fan of those plot lines, no matter how well intentioned. Still, I give this 5 stars due to the grumpy/grumpy love story with a healthy helping of real life getting in the way.

GAHH!!!!! I loved this book so much! Honestly, I had my doubts at first after People We Meet on Vacation, but that was quickly dissipated when I could relate so much to the older sibling syndrome and putting your own needs before your siblings. I loved the BANTER. THE WIT!! I'm a sucker for that. *chef's kiss*

Oh I just adored this book tremendously! I loved the bookish vibes, the banter, the fact that the leads were not hiding things from each other--in fact they made a point to be open with each other and I really appreciated it.

Book Lovers is an enjoyable romance that tests the boundaries of family. Nora is a driven shark who always gets what she wants and fights to make sure her family is taken care of, but at what cost? A vacation with her sister to a small town forces her to look at the life she's living and ask whether or not she's really living the life she wants. There's great banter in the novel and amazing chemistry with a man she thought she disliked and the perfect amount of heat. While this novel tries to poke fun at small town romance novel clichés, it's a delightful ride to see Nora become the woman she's meant to be.

BRILLIANT!!!!
I haven’t read a book in a while that had kept my attention and made me ache to continue reading every spare moment I had.
Top Book of all time of witty banter, it was perfectly adorable and organized ;)
Easily earned a spot in my top 5 best of all time books. LOVED IT!
thank you Berkeley Romance for access to an early ebook copy

Henry's novels are delightful reads, with fantastic settings and intriguing characters and relationships. The perfect book for a vacation or lazy afternoon, because you're not going to want to put it down!

Another stunning novel by Emily Henry. As the story progressed, I was beginning to think there wouldn’t be a happy ending, I shed tears, laughed, and shouted at the characters as the story progressed. I love a happy ending with characters that are considered “damaged” in their own eyes, I can’t wait to see what Emily writes next!

LOVED. Charlie is a perfect love interest and I absolutely loved their love story! The small North Carolina town was a great setting as well. Emily Henry always creates the most charming settings for her stories, and this town absolutely leapt off the page. I really liked the premise of the 'evil' city woman that gets left for the charming small town girl. It was super original and a great way to start the story. Emily Henry is one of my absolute favorite authors and I can't wait to keep reading her books.

Emily Henry has not let me down yet, and I will read everything that she writes. This book was a delight, made me smile so hard, and in Emily Henry fashion, also made me cry. It was a perfect combination of romance, sisterly and motherly love, and a love letter to small towns and New York City all wrapped into one.

Emily Henry did it again! Book Lovers is a true delight that flips tropes on their heads. I loved Nora and her strong-will and the ability that Henry has to let her characters, who might seem flawed, be themselves. The dialogue, true to Henry's style, was so conversational and funny. She is truly at the top of her game and I'd highly recommend this book!

Oh, my goodness! I loved the book titled Book Lovers by Emily Henry. I had not read anything from this author before, but this will not be my last! In Book Lovers our female lead, Nora, is a literary agent, who wants all the best for her clients. She is then forced to work with our leading man, Charlie, who is prim and proper, and from what I read his wardrobe costs more than my Jeep. The two start sparing over a book they are about to promote and is set in a real small town in South Carolina. Charlie keeps telling Nora there is no way the author had ever been there before, and later we find out how he knows. Nora's sister Libby is about to have her third baby and wants to take a trip to the town from the book for several weeks as the author is her favorite. Once they arrive, Libby sets out with a list of things for them to do while there. Oh, and I have to add that throughout the book Charlie and Nora are reading and editing a new book by an author and we see their excitement over it, and I loved that part.
This book had it all. Humor, romance (and I am not a huge romance fan), heart, and you really care about the characters. I am looking forward to more books by this author.
Thank you to the author, publisher, and Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I like that the book tried to poke fun at all those Hallmarkey tropes while simultaneously using them. Unfortunately I think was a case of people building this book up so much it just didn't quite live up to the hype.

is Nora really a "shark" or does she just know how to answer her phone? is Charlie really a well-written LI, over does he just have eyebrows and respect women? is Libby really a character or is she just a problem for Nora to solve (or learn to try not to solve ig)? is the setting really quaint, or does is just have a pun problem? no offense Emily Henry but this did next to nothing for me...except make me wish I'd taken a page out of Nora's book, read the end, and decided to skip the whole thing.

For some reason, I felt this book waaaay to long. It wasn't bad, in fact I loved it, but some how it was like a never-ending book.
But anyway... a rivals-to-lovers romance, spice with some comedy and a GREAT character development.

Nora is a book authors agent, Charlie its a book editor; their first encounter was a mess, they didn't like each other. A year later, in a small town that inspired a best selles book, they run to each other: Charlie was born and race there, Nora is on a vacation trip with her pregnant sister.
I LOVE the importance that is given to the familiar relationships and the way the main character's lifes shapes according to those choices they made for them.
Nora lost her mother and since then she became her sister's caregiver, she's so over protective and has a real trauma with the fear of loosing control of anything in their lifes.
Charlie never felt he was enought. Not good son enought, not good student enoght, not carismatic enought...
They both have serious traumas and is encouraging, beautifil, the way they face their fears, show their pasts and slowly became a important support to each other.
All the characters inspire empathy, because they're so human, with so relatable problems.
I think my only problem was the narration itself; sometimes was a little over the top on the methafors or the way some scenes were described. I felt a little discconected.
Other than that, Nora's and Charlie's romance is a slow burn that I loved. So much tension, so much fear and so much growth from both of them.
The plot about Libby (Nora's sister) and its ending was good. Sometimes it felt like Libby was just an ornament, but at the end, her life and her choices were esencial for Nora's evolution.
It's a recommendes romance.
I think is fair to say that is a 4 stars to me, not only because of the romance plot (that was a 3 maybe), but because it has so many messages about family, about work life, about resilience and emotional growth. It's beautiful all combined.

It was AMAZING! The perfect book to read this summer, Emily Henry never just never miss! The characters were so endearing and I was rooting for the relationship the whole time. Would highly recommend!

My thanks to NetGalley, libro.fm and Berkley for an eARC and audio ARC of this book to read/listen to and review.
Ok, this book started out SO STRONG. I loved the MC H and MC h. She was snarky, but not mean. It's a fine line, but she was written perfectly. I LOVED the premise of her being the "powerhouse city woman the men left when they found love in a small town". I love how the script was flipped.
What I didn't love? Everything else. WARNING SPOILERS FOLLOW
The MC H and MC h were COMPLETE doormats for their family members and didn't have a backbone for themselves. I HATED Libby, the MC h's sister and how when the MC H FINALLY stood up for herself, Libby conveniently had a health issue and had to be rushed to the hospital so the MC h wasn't able to fully stand up for herself AND she felt guilty due to her preggers sister fainting, so she rolled over and forgave her sister FOR LYING TO HER and MAKING THE MC h FEEL LIKE SH*T.
I hated how the MC H wasn't able to break free from Mummy Dearest and just explain to his parents the situation with the book store they owned and honestly couldn't manage to safe their lively-hoods. So he was going to give up the life he loved to live somewhere he hated, just so his parents could keep the store afloat for a few more months, which if they had cared about at all, they would have managed better.
THEN the MC h refused to stay with the MC H after they shared a very intimate moment and I was DONE.
DNF at 83%. I don't care how it ends or how it gets there from here. I think I'm just a tad touchy, so this is not one I would warn others away from, the writing was good and I liked the MC h's attitude, other than when it came to her younger sister, but it is just not for me.
2, it jumped the shark for me YMMV, stars.

I didn't adore this one as much as Emily's other two adult titles, but it was still a fun read, with a lot of emotional depth! I will still continue to read anything she writes because she is a queen lol.

OKAY I THOUGHT I ALREADY REVIEWED THIS. This. Book. Is. Fire.
I was still on a PWMOV high (yes, several months later) when I got this ARC. However, Henry did not disappoint. She never does.
There’s so much about Nora and Charlie that I loved. My favorite thing, however, was turning the regular tropes on their head. I absolutely loved that Nora wasn’t the typical Hallmark heroine (even though I love those women just as much). I loved that Charlie wasn’t the typical Hallmark hero (once again, I love them). The chemistry. The sexual tension. The FUCKING WIT. I’m obsessed.
I wish I could say more. Other than Libby and Nora were the best sister duo I’ve read in a while.
