It’s great to be back in Lake Summers. It’s a wonder village where some sad things have happened, but a lot of people also found happiness there too. They often went away or were advised to go away in order to find a better life, a better future. A lot of them come back for a visit and decide to stay, because it’s their home after all and they were not really happy in their so called better life.
What would you do when you receive a phone call for help from a loved one? Would you drop everything even if it turns your own schedule upside down? Of course you would, because you want to be there for them even if you are confused and don’t completely understand what is going on.
At first you are even more confused on arrival, but little by little you start to see what is going on. A few people around you seem don’t seem to value telling the truth. Honestly, that kind of people you don’t want to interact with, do you?
When everything is explained to you, you can see their point of view too and you can see why they acted like they did.
Are you curious to find out what the secrets where and how Laurel’s life changed, please pick up a copy of this gorgeous story. 5 stars
Thank you
The Cranberry Inn is Laurel's story of love and loss.
It starts in New York where she is a struggling interior designer, who has not been given a break in the company in literally years since starting there.
She is attempting to do this while being a lone parent to her 8 year old son, Simon.
She gets a phone call that might change her life forever. Her dad phoned inviting her back to the home she grew up in, The Cranberry Inn. Which used to be a thriving business, now not so much.
Laurel's sisters are Tracy the oldest, and Deb's the youngest both have high power jobs. So we are told don't have time to consider The Cranberry Inn.
While back in Lake Summer's Laurel catches up with the old gang from school who were in the schools drama department plays. Of course there is a couple of love interests to keep Laurel on her toes!
This is a great cozy read, which you don't necessarily need to be read at Christmas! I loved all the characters all in equal measures. It kept you guessing till the very end.
I like how there are a whole series of books set around 'Lake Summer's and I would definitely read another one.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for giving me a digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
The Cranberry Inn by Barbara Josselsohn is a wonderful novel.
I read The Bluebell Girls and loved it!
So I jumped all over this one.
Laurel and her son are heading back home to Cranberry Inn located in the beautiful Adirondack Mountains.
She is happy to be getting out of New York for awhile and help her dad run the family business... And make so many memories with with her son.
When she arrives to the in she is stunned when she see the Inn in such disorder, and A note saying her dad will be gone until Christmas Eve!
No one in town knows where her father is at either.
She can't let the inn go belly up, and there isn't anything going to get in the way of them having a perfect Christmas for her kid.
Seeing the inn in bad shape she hires her childhood friend and local carpenter Joel.
During renovation she can't help but worry about her father and having Joel there is a good distraction.
After he admits she was his very first crush she can't help but notice their is something growing between the two!
Soon she is going through some things and discovers a card in her fathers belongings and learns the true reason he has disappeared.
Worse of all she thinks Joel has known the truth this entire time!
Josselsohn has written a memorable, heartwarming, enjoyable and thought-provoking novel.
She vividly describes the interaction and storytelling of the characters and it shows!
A great story constructed with a mixture of heartbreaking but beautiful events as well as heartwarming ones.
Overall, it’s a nice and satisfying book for those looking for something warm and cozy without too much drama.
I enjoyed the heck outta this story!

I will post this to my platforms closer to the pub date!
This took about the halfway point to get going for me, but I am pleased I stuck with it.
Festive fun and drama packed.
The cover was festive so was looking forward to reading this one!
This is one of my favorite reading seasons because there is absolutely nothing better than curling up under a fuzzy blanket with a good book A wonderful magical Christmas book. Reminds me of holiday movies but in print. Such a cute story for this time of year. A lovely light-hearted read. Warms my heart. Beautifully written characters.
I love this cover and the book too! Laurel and her son Simon head to her family’s inn after a frantic sounding call from her Dad. They spend the month of December at the inn. Along the way old friends are reunited and an upcoming actor hides out at the inn.
It was a quick book with a good story and sweet romance.
It sounded like the perfect place to visit.
I enjoyed the story. Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the early copy
When Laurel's father calls her and ask her to come home and help with the inn for a few weeks, she decides to that she and her son will go home. They hadn't been for a while, but when they got there, her father wasn't home and no one knows where he is.
Joel is home because his mother just passed away, and he was taking care of her affairs. Laurel and he knew each other in high school, and he had agreed to help her father do some work at the inn while there were no guests. He was as surprised as Laurel that her father wasn't there. Being back home for the both of them started reminding them of the memories they had living there, they finally found out what happened to Laurel's father, and started looking at the life they had and what they really wanted for their lives now.
This book wasn't predictable, the people we meet, each have their own story, but they begin to see how things can blend together. It is a heartwarming story that will keep your attention.
I received an ARC from Bookouture through NetGalley.
