Q.O.T.D: If the travel genie came to grant you one wish for a dream vacation, where would you go?
A.O.T.D: 100% IRELAND!!! 🇮🇪
Description:
It only takes one night to fall in love…
Within days of wishing she could change her life, Fran Cooper is acting assistant to a celebrity, on a yacht in the Mediterranean, and en route to a tiny Italian island and the glittering Crystal Ball, along with the world’s rich and famous.
When she – quite literally – bumps into a handsome American called Evan, a man able to keep his cool in the face of chaos, the magic really begins.
Evan makes her a promise: no last names, no life stories, just one unforgettable night. Yet Evan belongs at the Crystal Ball and Fran is a gatecrasher. They may be soulmates, but their homes are an ocean apart, and their lives a world apart. They’ll never meet again – unless, on a night like this, everything can change forever…
Have you read this book? What are your thoughts?

This was a fun, new age Cinderella read. It’s a funny must read book in my opinion!
While there is a romcom element to the book, I didn't love it. It was cute, but it felt like it was just there as an element of the story and not a showstopper.
However, the relationship between Francesca and celebrity singer Juliette is just fabulous. It starts out with Francesca signing on as a personal assistant for a high profile celebrity; but soon she realizes that the celebrity everyone complains about is nothing like the monster they all described. I feel like this should be marketed more about the friendship and healing between the two women - I adored their dynamic and banter.
I was given a copy of this story to read; but thoughts and opinions are all my own. Thank you to Netgalley and Harper 360 for the chance to read this book!
Who doesn't love a Cinderella retelling?! This was such a cute book that gives you the warm fuzzies through every turn of the page. We get to witness Fran find herself while also finding romance. Highly recommend!!
This book has been praised by some authors whose books I truly enjoy. See below:
“The kind of book you can’t put down, but also want to last forever”—EMILY HENRY
“I fell head over heels in love”—BETH O’LEARY
“The literary equivalent of opening a glass of wine with your best friend”—MHAIRI MCFARLANE
On a Night Like This is a story that offers a perfect summer escape. Protagonist with a newly glamorous job-check. Good location for the story-check Guy who just might be the right one-check. Looking for a fun read, check (again) this one out.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Harper 360 for this title. All opinions are my own.
Such a fun and entertaining book that kept me laughing out loud the entire time. I really enjoy Lindsey Kelk’s witty writing and sweet romances.
This is a great retelling of Cinderella and I really enjoyed the character and world building. I will be reading more of Kelk in the future!
I really really liked this! It took a while to get to the romance but the beginning where you get to know Juliette and Fran without the romance was also really good! It’s was part Insta-love but delivered in a much more realistic way. I’d say it was more insta-crush and the characters recognized that. I laughed out loud several times. I just really loved it. Fluff but quality.
After receiving a copy of Lindsey Kelks “In Case You Missed It” back in 2020, I couldn’t wait to get my eyes on her next story! On a Night Like This did not disappoint and I can never turn down a rom-com Cinderella like story!!
This was a fun g-rated romance chick lit book. It was well written and made you want to continue reading it. It made the character think, which in turn made the reader think.
Such a sweet Cinderella retelling. Absolutely loved it. Thank you so much NetGalley for a copy of this! Out now!
Thank you Netgalley and the Publisher for my ARC in exchange for my honest review. This was an enjoyable book.
This book was so cute! I love a good fairy tale that leaves me feeling warm and fuzzy. If you want something light and fluffy, to bring you sunshine on a cloudy day this is the book.
I wanted more! Every time it got good I feel like it ended too quickly... I really loved the MC but unfortunately it fell flat for me
I LOVE retellings and this modern retelling of Cinderella is no different. Fran is quirky and interesting and I really liked Evan; rags-to-riches is always fun to read, but I do feel like this one was stagnant at times, though mostly charming. I could very easily see this being turned into a Netflix movie and I'd totally watch it. While this isn't something I'd necessarily consider adding to my Retellings Unit in class, this is definitely something I'd recommend to my seniors as something fun to read on their own time.
This book was such a gem and thankfully pulled me out of my reading slump. I haven’t seen much about this book, but I would definitely recommend you add to your TBR.
This was such a cute and fun story with some depth to it as well. The settings were gorgeous and I felt like I was watching a movie in my head. The parts on the yacht definitely gave me Below Deck vibes. 😍
I’m a sucker for a cute romance, and this did not disappoint.
Typical beautiful story by Lindsey Kelk. One night to get to know each other, one night of no last names. Beautiful and funny this night of mystery as Fran and Evan get to know the beat of each other while trying so hard not to fall. I’d read this over and over because it makes you feel good. Definitely recommend!
such a great love story! I really enjoyed Lindsey Kelk's writing and would certainly pick up another novel by her!
It was cute and Kelk is a good writer but there were SO many incredibly far fetched plot lines. I felt like the first half (her & Juliette) was much stronger and closer to 4 stars, then the second half (the ball & her time with Evan) I found to be weaker and closer to 2 stars. I'm starting to feel like maybe I've outgrown Kelk as I think I would have enjoyed this book a little more a decade & a hundred chick lit books ago.
A very fun sweet Cinderella retelling in modern day. No last names, no backgrounds - just living and loving in the moment. It of course backfires but it's a sweet story.
