I thoroughly enjoyed Griff and Kinsey’s story. They are both extremely smart scientists that work for competing companies, and Kinsey just so happens to be best friends (and roommates) with Griff’s sister. Both struggle with their own insecurities and being judged by others based on outward presentations. They complement each other so well, their chemistry is dynamite, and their families are (mostly) lovely and fun, too. This was my first Avery Flynn novel, and I want to go and read her entire backlist now.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫/5 stars for this fun, engaging read!

Loved this book, the second in this series.

Griff can't even talk to Kinsey, but is falling in love with her anyway. Will they have a chance together or will her work at a rival lab mean they need to stay apart?

Usually I'm one to stay away from insta-love, but this one was different. Griff was knocked on his ass from the first moment he meets Kinsey. It had me grinning like a fool.
Flynn does an excellent job of portraying Griff as the man-of-few-words and Kinsey as the woman who talks a mile a minute.
The secondary characters were awesome - Nash and Dixon are knuckleheads, but knuckleheads that you'll like. And I loved how Morgan was the voice of reason!
Although the plot was quite predictable, it was an enjoyable read.
This was one steamy read.

This is my first book from this author and I was so eager to read a book from them!!

Quick disclaimer that I haven't read the first book, but this one can be read as a standalone just fine! I wasn't confused or anything since it was well explained in this book.

I loved the female protagonist, Kinsey in this book! She is a powerhouse, a boss, and super empowering. She hasn't been treated fairly throughout her career and she stands tall and strong above those who think she's just a "dumb blonde" and I love that about her! That's something Griff loves about her too! I like how the author represented the stereotypes around women in a male-dominated workplace and how they are taken advantage of and blamed for no reasons, I'm glad it's something that's talked about in this book thoroughly and acknowledged.

Can't wait for Nash's story! And to see what the mystery present is!

Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled publishing for the earc in return for an honest review.

Griff may be in the Last Single Man Standing competition with his cousins, but five minutes around Kinsey was all it took to take himself out. She’s his sister’s best friend but somehow she agrees to go on six fake dates to help him win his bet.

This book is funny. Lots of helpful family members, funny dialogue, outrageous characters in impossibly hilarious situations. I love the funny banter and the main character's chemistry. A terrific book that makes you LOL. :)

Thanks to the publisher for providing an arc.

Neanderthal, the second book in Avery Flynn’s series about the bet three cousins make to claim the very last Christmas present left by their deceased but always beloved Grandma Betty, is absolutely delicious. Griff always has had trouble expressing himself with words. He has a mind that juggles multiple ideas at a time and to his utter amazement meets someone whose very voice calms his mind and stirs his lust. The fact that she is his sister’s new roommate and works for a competing cosmetics company are just minor obstacles…right? This book has it all: nosy family, interesting situations and a lot of lusting. I loved it and eagerly await the next installment. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book from NetGalley. Most highly recommend.

Such an entertaining read! I read it the whole day! What I love the most about this book is the neanderthal Griff! He's THAT book boyfriend. The grunting and all is so endearing that you cant help but fall in love with him! It also doesn't hurt that this trio of cousins have such a wonderful relationship. They're also funny with their shenanigans too.

This book is the second installment of Avery Flynn's Last Man Standing. It can also be read as a standalone or if you want to read Dixon's story, you should start with Mama's Boy. The premise of this book starts with Griff, the second in the race to win the The Last Man Standing bet against Nash, meets and falls in love at first sig-voice (yeah, our boy fell in love and immediately planned the wedding) with Kinsey! It's finally grunting neanderthal Griff turn to get his shot of happiness and the road there wasn't easy for him.

The book is a sweet, hilarious light read. Complete with hilarious family shenanigans, hot and steamy sex scenes, and of course characters that you will fall in love with.

This book is the second stand-alone in the Last Man Standing Series, a series of interconnected stand-alones by A. Flynn, published by Entangled Publishing.
Griff, Dixon and Nash made a Last Man Standing bet. After Dixon failed spectacularily in Mama's Boy, now its Griff's story.
Griff Beckett is a problem solver. He's successful in the family business, loves his single life and is sure he's winning nana's christmas present.
Kinsey Dalton puts her PhD to good use and starts working at a cosmetics company.
So let the games begin. And begin they do. From the first meet cute to the wonderful hea, this book had me from page one, gave me all the feels. A witty and one of the most funny reads in 21 so far, 5 stars.
