This small sample of 100 Great American Parks has beautiful photographs and interesting information on the featured parks. The sample didn't show it, but I hope there is more detailed information provided elsewher ein the book on in-park accommodations (where available).

This book will take you to the 63 national parks , state and recreational parks around America and it will not disappoint readers. This is a beautifully crafted photo book that is a must have for your coffee table or a gift to the outdoor traveler. The pictures in this book are amazing with excellent descriptions of the parks, places and things. This was so fun to read through.
I was disappointed this was not the entire book. It barely has 5 parks mentioned in the teaser preview. I feel this is a disservice to reviewers, either offer the entire book or don’t offer it at all. I’m sure it’s a wonderful book, but little was offered in the ARC.
This seems like a beautiful book, but what I received what just a sample of a few pages so I can't really provide an accurate review.
I like that the parks aren't just national parks, but parks from all over the US. The pictures and descriptions that I saw were interesting and I would have liked to see more.
Thank you for an arc of this book in exchange for an honest review! This is a sample of the whole book and it's full of beautiful photography and lots of information. It's an excellent coffee-table book and would be great for people who love traveling, learning about new places, and National Parks. I recommend it.
A beautiful book. Though my review copy only contained a handful of pages it was a treat for the eyes, the photography is fantastic. A perfect coffee table book. It will surely inspire wanderlust and exploration.
While the photographs in this book are gorgeous (as would be expected of Nat Geo) the design could be improved. There are large blocks of texts which could be broken up in order to improve the reading experience, The layout and general design aesthetic feels caught between a traditional copy of Nat Geo Magazine and a coffee table book. If the latter is what you’re seeking, then this may not be the book for you. On the bright side, the text is informative and easy to read. It would probably be a good gift for a family that is interested in going on a road trip to visit the National Parks—especially the lesser known ones!
This review is of only a small portion of the book 100 Great American Parks that was provided by the publisher. Information about each park includes the size, a brief history, and the offered accommodations as well as an expected National Geographic quality image of the parks' beauty. Of the examples in the mini-peek, about half appear to be well-known parks but some are lesser-known and potentially less crowded, as the NPS has seen an unprecedented number of visitors in the past couple of years. This would be a great addition to a reference collection, travel collection, and photography subject area.
I’ve only visited a few national parks but this book totally makes me want to do a national park road trip. I felt like this book was very informative and I enjoyed it.
First off, the pictures are spectacular, and the facts surrounding these natural beauties are astounding.
It was a great way to visit the parks. This book was enlightening and educational.
Very informative with stunning pictures. Introduces to not just national parks but also other major parks.
*I received an ebook copy of this book in exchange for an honest opinion via Netgalley.com. The review is lower due to the nature of it being only a sample of the book.
This is another beautiful sample from National Geographic. I was excited to see and read this book as our country is filled with beautiful places, many of which only locals are aware of. This was a good glimpse into what promises to be a fun book. It would be a great book to have in the classroom when studying the various states and the different landscapes of the country. The pictures are gorgeous and the information is interesting.
The book - which would be better as a book - has great potential. Great pictures, the text was interesting, and introductions to places I didn't know. Will be a fantastic resource, gift. Definitely to be recommended.
With thanks to National Geographic and NetGalley for an ARC.
This book features beautiful photography and information about parks in the United States. While I was provided a sample of the book for review purposes, it appeared to be a wealth of information. It would be a very valuable tool to learn about parks in the US and plan your next vacation.
I am a traveler park curious kind of traveler, so this book has a little more information about many of the most famous parks in United States, which give Us a look of what We can discover there. Awesome.
~~~ I received a sample copy (not book in its entirety) of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review ~~~
What a lovely book! This book is exactly what you'd expect from a National Geographic published work. America is full of beautiful public spaces, including the National Parks of course, but there are a plethora of amazing parks across the nation that are state, county, and city parks as well. This book features a unique combination of the beauty found in the various types of parks and public spaces found across America. Beautiful photographs, fun facts, and informational essays detail each park space. 100 Great American Parks is organized into 5 regions for the reader's convenience. It is the perfect coffee table book (great gift book) or perhaps for a waiting room. Based on what the sample of this book that was provided to me, I would definitely recommend it!
I read a 10 page sampler of this book and already I can tell im going to love this book. This pictures in this sample was stunning. The style of writing in this book is out of this world. I loved the fact its wrote in a informative fun style which connects with the reader. It makes you feel good and want to visit these areas. This book is brilliant if like me you are stuck in your houseand don't have the money to travel to America but love the beauty and nature found there. You could travel to these places through the book just one book could take you all over America. The beauty, nature, photographs, the challenges and the facts all combined to make it feel as you are already there. Sat learning and experiencing from the comfort of your chair. I have everything crossed that I am able to read the complete book to review and would love to be involved in the blog tour.
So much praise for this obviously talented author and publishing team. I just can't wait to read this book and take a journey of a lifetime right from the comfort of my home.
I love the interesting details it gives of every park. Most of the things I have never heard of before and found myself googling more about them. Great read if you like to travel and plan your trips out for camping.
Note: this review is based on a sample of the book, consisting of only 18 pages.
Honestly, I'm not sure what I love more: travelling or gaining inspiration from the gorgeous pictures provided in National Geographic books. The work ''100 Great American Parks'' is the newest addition to the NG book emporium.
The work is divided in five parts or ''regions'': 1) the west and pacific, 2) the mainland, 3) the east and midatlantic, 4) the south, and 5) the midwest and plains. The book contains absolutely stunning pictures and the stories provided with each destination seem to be written with sufficient historical background information. However, the book seems to be lacking details on the actual destinations mentioned and therefore would be best suitable just for being a coffee table book with stunning pictures.
Note: This review is based on an ARC sample of the book, and not the entire book. Had I been able to view the whole book, my rating could easily have become 5 stars.
This book has all the earmarks of quality that have come to be the norm for National Geographic. Stunning pictures accompanied by interesting information make this an enjoyable read. All of the 63 National Parks are featured, and the book is rounded out by 37 state or city parks, recreational areas, and green spaces.
If you're planning a trip, the book has information on park size, lodging options, and highlights to include in your visit which would prove helpful. Even if you're just enjoying the view from your armchair, this is a book that will stir you with the beauty to be found within our borders.
A great gift idea for yourself or others who enjoy art/photography/travel coffee-table books.
My thanks to National Geographic for allowing me to peruse an ARC sample of the book via NetGalley. The book is scheduled to be published on 5/10/22. All opinions expressed in this review are my own and are given freely.
