Once again, I fall in love with a Melanie Summers story. This book has it all the emotions wrapped up for you to experience, happy, sadness, and laughter. Great diverse set of characters.
I loved the title and I loved the book even more. something about the beach aspect while I was on vacation did it for me. I can't recommend enough. it was funny and cute.
I love a great comeback romcom where you get knocked down and you have to build yourself up again. I really loved that Hadley took time for herself because that is exactly what every woman needs to do.
Thank you Netgalley and the Publisher for my ARC in exchange for my honest review. This book was very entertaining.
I absolutely loved this book! Hadley, Heath, and Minerva are my favorite book characters yet!
This book has everything you want and then some! The story line was perfect and it all went perfectly together. This is definitely the perfect anytime read!
I would say this is a definite must read! It is hilarious and it will have you laughing out loud!
I was so glad to see a new book in the Paradise Bay series I couldn't refrain to pick it up.
Resting Beach Face was an entertaining, lovely and fast paced story.
Hadley is a dance teacher for the island resort patrons. Heath left New York to go back on the island to help his mother to recover from an accident. They were friends since they were kids but they haven't been in touch anymore, so they are shocked to see each other again after ten years. Will them rekindle their friendship? Or their relationship is only for the time by they are in the same place at the same time?
I liked Hadley growth, from a girl who complies to everything her mother says to a woman who claims her independence. Heath is really too sweet, but sometimes I've hoped he could be braver expressing his feelings.
I've enjoyed to be on this beautiful caribbean island again and to follow Hadley and Heath journey under the warm sun while here was a freezing winter day.
I have mixed feelings with this book. On the one hand this was a light and fun romance set in a beautiful location. On the other hand, the romance was lacking and the ending through me for a loop.
Resting Beach Face.
OK, I have a love and hate relationship with this one. This was a steamy enemies to lovers. Tremendous growth from the main character and swoon-worthy love interest. This gave me "rich girl" vibes. The writing was a bit immature for my liking, but all and all would recommend to a friend.
The story takes place on Paradise Bay, same as the other 3. But this time we follow hadley who is the resort’s dance and yoga instructor. We see her in high school and then again 10 years later with some pretty crappy results. But in true Melanie Summer’s fashion, the relationships in this book prevail!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Resting Beach Face is the fourth book in the Paradise Bay series by Melanie Summers. This is the first one I have read and am pleased that each of the books can be read as a standalone. Yoga and dance instructor, Hadley Jones, has been dating Chase Williams for twelve years. There has not been a proposal yet, but Hadley is sure it will be soon. The last few months they haven't seen much of each other as Chase is working out of town. Hadley is giving dance lessons to a woman who wants to surprise her groom with a sexy dance at their upcoming wedding. Imagine Hadley's surprise when she finds out that the groom is Chase. Meanwhile, her BFF growing up and brother from another mother, Heath, has returned to Paradise Cove after his mother has a serious accident. He left after high school with plans to never return, not wanting to face Hadley, who he has loved forever, with Chase. As Hadley and Heath spend time together, he knows he still loves her, but it might take Hadley a bit longer to figure it out.
Resting Beach Face is a fun romantic comedy, that is just a nice enjoyable story. I enjoyed getting to know Hadley and Heath as well as their families. Heath's mother is a hoot, eccentric, fun and caring. Hadley's parents are not so easy to like. Her mother is demanding and has Hadley's life planned out for her, even if it is not what she wants. Hadley wants to open her own dance studio, and I enjoyed how Heath supported and encouraged her and helped her get her business plans together. As Hadley and Heath spent more time together, I enjoyed their fun banter and activities. All does not go smoothly, but things eventually work out. This is a fun second chance romance, friends to lovers and rom-com. I definitely enjoyed it.
so sad i was not able to finish this :( i was really excited but i couldnt get into the writing.
thank you netgalley for providing me early access for an honest review.
I want to thank Netgalley & Melanie Summers for my copy of Resting Beach Face. This is book #4 in The Paradise Bay series. I didn’t realize at first this was a series and that was ok. It read like a stand alone and was entertaining.. This is chick Lit at its finest. Hadley Jones has been in love with Chase Williams, forever. They started dating in HS and now 15 years later they are still dating and Hadley is starting to wonder when they will get married. She wouldn’t care so much but everyone, family and friends won’t stop asking. She had a good job at a beautiful resort and an apartment. She believes they are waiting for Chase to get to the next level of his career. He travels all over the world and leaves Hadley a lot. Now Heath Robinson left Santa Valentina the minute he could. Once best friends Hadley and Heath lost touch when he moved to NY. He is back now taking care of his mother.. She had a terrible act and needs help from her son. Heath comes to help but hopes to get back to NY a quick and not lose a moment of work. He is trying to complete the biggest merger his company has ever handled.
While home Heath sees Hadley and they start to reconnect.. They were always best friends and they aren’t having any trouble friends again. This renewed friendship becomes so comfortable and peaceful. It brings them solace. It makes them think about their current relationships and really starting to wonder about life and where they are in it. Are their current situations going to make them happy. Whose hiding what? How can you live in from secrets? This is such a cute story of loves lost and found. I thought the characters were all great, they were human. They had flaws and hang ups but they were honest. I thought this was well written and clever. It was a quick read because I had to see how things were going to play out.. I wasn’t disappointed with the ending. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
This is a good book. The two main characters are Hadley and Heath. They have known each other all their lives. Hadley is a dance instructor and Heath is an accountant. Heath’s mother has an accident and lands up in the hospital, Heath flies in from New York to take care of her. Hadley finds out her boyfriend is engaged to another woman and Hadley breaks up with him. They each have issues but together they work them out. They find out they love one another.
Super quick fun read - with an amazing title!!!
Yoga instructor, Hadley Jones, has loved Chase Williams since high school. Fifteen years later, she still does. And while he hasn't popped the question yet, she knows it's only a matter of time. Little does Hadley know Chase has been busy making wedding plans-just not with her.
Heath Robinson left the Santa Valentina Islands the first chance he got. He's about to pull together the biggest aeronautical merger in history when he gets a call that has him boarding a plane home. Now, instead of sipping whiskey sours with the big boys, he'll be watching his bed-ridden mother sip from a juice box. His plan is to help her recover from her moped accident as quickly as possible so he can get back to his real life-hopefully before he runs into the girl who crushed his heart, Hadley Jones.
Will Hadley realize that Heath is the real man of her dreams? Will Heath forgive Hadley? Will his mum ever ride a moped again?
Predictable for the most part - but still a fabulous way to spend a few hours. EVERYONE needs a mom like Heath's - it sure would make life interesting lol Thanks to Netgalley for providing a digital copy of this amazing book in exchange for an honest review.
Unfortunately I could not finish this book, and believe me, I really tried to. The writing was a mess (the use of hyphens were insane and it drove me crazy) and I couldn't resonate with any of the characters. I also hated the way the author made the MC talk about herself.
I really do enjoy Melanie Summers' books. They are funny and easy to read and just the kind of thing that you want when you want to relax. Resting Beach Face tells the story of Hadley and Heath. They grew up together and were best friends, but have lost touch over the last ten years. Heath has always loved Hadley, but she has been in a long term relationship with another man.
This was a fun read and although there was nothing completely unexpected or shocking in the story line, it was just the kind of thing that I was in the mood for.
There were quite a few errors in the copy I had, but I don't know if that was because it was an uncorrected proof. I don't normally note these, but I thought that it had already been released, so I wasn't expecting them.
Overall this is a fun read and one that I really enjoyed. Recommended for anyone who wants a bit of escapism on a Caribbean island with a side order of romance and comedy.
I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own and given voluntarily.
Santa Valentina resident, Hadley Jones, has followed the path she set for herself since high school. Fifteen years later, her world is sent awry when her high school sweetheart proposes....to another woman. In a crazy coincidence, Hadley's former best friend Heath returns from New York to take care of his mom and they fall back into an easy rhythm of friendship, until new truths are revealed and feelings shift.
***
As a loyal follower of the Paradise Bay books, I went into this one with high expectations. I love how this one continued the quick pace and predictable projection of the plot. However, Resting Beach Face did falter in comparison due to what I consider a weak relationship between the main characters. My interpretation was: they were friends in high school, Heath went away to avoid his feelings for Hadley, Heath is back and we're told they are friends again (out of the blue), now they're in love. I didn't feel the shift in their relationship which is a big part of romances for me.
I was lucky to receive an advance copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review and opinion. The minute I saw this available on NetGalley (with the awesome cover) I knew I had to read it and I'm so glad I did! This was such a fun book to read in the midst of all of the crazy stuff going on in the world today. Lighthearted and fun! I can't wait to read more by this author! Thank you for the fun escape!
This book is messy, I wanted to finish it but I just couldn’t, too many cliches and awkward moments totally unnecessary and definitely not funny, the characters are poorly written and difficult to empathise with.
