A great read! Although a quick read, it will definitely keep you on your toes - and by that I mean it will keep you blushing! A fast read and totally what I would consider a pallet cleanser if ever needed when reading.
This book hits all the right spots with the bestfriends little sister trope too !
*I received this as an Advanced Reader Copy thanks to Netgalley and the Authors Publisher; all thoughts an opinions are my own* This is NOT a spoiler-free review - continue reading at your own risk
I have nothing but good things to say about this book. Similar to Christian, I was in a (reading) slump and I needed something to help me refocus on something I loved, and man oh man did this book deliver and act as my own slumpbuster. I blew through this book in a matter of hours, and will be returning to it the next time I get into a reading slump.
This is a quick easy read but is throughly enjoyable. I wish there was more to their story and that the fight that a occurred spanned a little longer to truly get the depth of the characters. Loved the dual POV and it really enhanced the story.
Scoring Position is textbook Tara Wyatt: a fun, sexy, super-fast read that's perfect for a night when you just want to relax. And if you love the brother's-best-friend/friends-to-lovers tropes (two of my faves), you'll be especially ecstatic.
Christian is a pro-baseball player who was recently traded to the Longhorns (whole series here). He'd been the Rookie of the Year in his previous club, but a scandal ultimately led to his transfer. His best friend of about a decade, Jordan, is also on the team. Christian is staying with Jordan for now until he finds a suitable place to rent. Also staying with Jordan is Jordan's sister Hannah, a recent college graduate who needs a place to stay the summer before she starts grad school in library science. Hannah and Christian had met before, off page, and had developed secret crushes on each other. As luck would have it, present-day Christian is looking for a way to take some pressure off of what is shaping up to be a bad season, and Hannah is looking for someone to take her virginity before she starts grad school in the fall. A match made in heaven.
So they start a secret affair, and it's really cute. There's sex and a lot of it, and it's fairly graphically described, as is the author's trademark. But it's also a sweet relationship. The two share confidences and cuddles, and they spend as much time enjoying each other's company outside of bed as they do inside it. Their plan is to keep it simple: They will spend this time with each other for the summer, and then they will go their separate ways. Like THAT ever works in a Romancelandia!
I think the story could have benefitted with a little more info about each of them to round their characters out a bit more. We know that Hannah had a difficult time as a kid and in high school, but we really only hear about one incident that caused emotional scars.(And I'm pretty sure I saw the exact same scene in at least two separate movies.) I also struggled a little bit with Hannah's age. She's only 22. I suppose my own advanced years color my perspective somewhat. Christian too could have been a stronger character if we'd had a little bit more background information. We know that relationships in his family never really panned out, but it didn't seem like any of them were bad enough to make him shy away from relationships in general.
Overall though, this book is a fun one, and it hit me at exactly the right time. Tara Wyatt always delivers.
I received an ARC of this book from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for my honest opinion. Thanks!
This was AMAZING!!
I was lucky enough to get an ARC of this book and it did NOT disappoint!
Scoring Position is the 6th book in the Dallas Longhorns series. I actually have not read any of the other ones and I was able to easily keep up with all of these characters, however, I definitely plan on reading the other 5 books now that I have fallen in love with these boys!!!
This book follows Jordan Miller's little sister, Hannah, and his best friend, Christan Hale. I think Christian is a PERFECT book boyfriend. He is soo sweet but SOO sexy! I love how protective he is of Hannah, like umm yess! Sign me up!!
There are soo many of my favorite tropes like best friends little sister, forbidden love, and friends with benefits to lovers!!! Not to mention this is a sports romance which is one of my FAVORITES!!! This is such an easy but amazing read! I finished it in around two hours.
The steam in this book.. WOWW!!! He teaches her EVERYTHING and this 100% gave me butterflies!
Tara, you did amazing with this one!
This is a great quick read. Christian and Hannah are both extremely likeable characters and I found myself rooting for them immediately. The story is a little predictable but that doesn't make it less entertaining. I loved reading the progression of their relationship and was definitely drawn into their story. I was sad to finish this one and am already looking into more books by this author!
The forbidden younger sister trope is right up my ally. I like that each book in this series can work as a stand alone and you don't need to know what happen in the prior books to enjoy the current. Hannah is on a mission to lose her virginity and who else than sexy confident and long time crush Christian who also happens to be staying with her brother. A mutually beneficial agreement is struck which leads to some steamy scenes and some deep real talks and connections between the two. I read this in one sitting and it has me wanted to finish the series.
This novel blew me away. I absolutely loved it. I am a sucker for the trope of brother's best friend, and they are living in the same house! The chemistry between Hannah and Christian was so hot it could burn a house down.
What starts off as a proposition to help her loose her virginity slips into a secret summer fling and then turns into so much more. The way they feel about each other isn't just some one off kind of attraction, and it dives deeper than just surface level.
All the elements in this story had me never wanting to put it down. I couldn't get enough of these characters and the story. Thank you so much NetGalley for the advanced readers copy in exchange for a honest review.
Cute and very sexy - an enticing mix! A good romp through the getting together and relationship building of a pro athlete and his best friends sister. Of course it is a cliche, but that doesn’t mean the reading through of the taming and ultimate falling of our hero isn’t a great read.
This is the first book I have read in the Dallas Longhorns series and it was very easy to follow along since this book was about a new couple with just cameos by those from previous books. I really enjoy Tara Wyatt's reading style because she has great story lines, lots of chemistry and always brings the heat.
Christian Hale just got traded to the Longhorns after a scandal and is trying to put the past behind him. His friend, Jacob, decides to help him out by letting Christian stay at his house until he gets his life in order. But Jacob forgot to mention that his little sister Hannah is also staying with them for the summer. Hannah Miller just finished college in Boston and is moving to California for grad school in the fall so he decides to meet in the middle and stay with her brother in Dallas for 3 months until school starts in the fall.
Hannah has big plans this summer and the main thing she wants to do is lose her virginity. When she learns that Christian will be staying with her and her brother for the summer she sees this as the perfect opportunity since Hannah has been crushing on Christian for years. She definitely wants Christian to be her first and to teach her everything about being good in bed. As these practice sessions progress, so do their feelings for one another.

I enjoyed this book by Tara Wyatt. It felt like a novella in that it was a short, quick read. This works because the main characters, Hannah and Christian, already know each other through her brother Jordan. While I bought into her falling in love with Christian (I mean, she was already mostly there before the book starts), I did not buy into Jordan falling for her rather quickly. That being said, a lot of books that I read where the guy's feelings don't feel genuine, I do feel that Jordan's for Hannah are only going to grow, which made me believe in their love story and their HEA. It is a solid 4 star read.
Thanks NetGalley for an advanced copy for this honest review.
This is a fun, quick read that I loved!
A sports romance with best friends little sister trope that ticks all the boxes.
It’s fast paced and with enough steam to make you blush. Everything you want in a romance book.
Well written, and although short, I enjoyed the characters and their stories.
Highly recommend this series!
Since this book was short and sweet (more of a novella than a full-fledged book, really), that's how my review shall be, too.
It was fine. The writing was good, the characters quite generic. It was hot, but also extremely predictable. In all honesty, I've read better guy-in-love-with-BFFs-little-sister.
My least favorite part was the last conflict in the end. The book was doing well until that came about (I couldn't help but roll my eyes and sigh with disappointment). Hannah already knew about Christian's previous womanizing ways and pre-game ritual. So her reaction seemed way out of proportion about the whole slumpbuster thing.
But I enjoyed how the intimacy and sex aspects were tackled.
All in all, if you have a few hours to kill and feel like adding a little steam and spice to your day, this book is a good choice.

HOLY SHIT. This book was so good and I had read 84% of this book in an hour and had to put it down since I did not want to finish it. Hannah’s and Christian story is my dreams. I really relate to Hannah in every single way. Christian was shown as a player but he is actually a cinnamon roll. I 100% recommend this book and ps: it is a best friends sister romance;)
All the Dallas Longhorns! This is book 6 in the series and I think I’ve missed a couple but they are well worth the read. The characters are usually robust, the storyline’s are good, and there’s usually plenty of steam.
I’m book 6 we see Christian (the Manwhore) Hale, recently sacked by Toronto for off-field discretions and dalliances and traded to Dallas, where he’s staying with his college room-mate Jordan, now a fixture at Dallas. Christian is unable to get his head in the game and is failing to impress at his new club. When Jordan’s sister Hannah comes to stay, there is an instant attraction, the pair having known each other for some time. Hannah’s got a proposition for Christian that he can’t refuse, as it’s going to help him with his ore-game (ummm) ritual. But Jordan can’t find out.
This is a best friends’ sister, friends to lovers, jock and the nerd romance. Christian is a largely likeable rogue who finds a more sensitive side when he’s with Hannah and he talks about being motivated to be the man she needs him to be. Hannah’s a quiet girl and very naive, my only wish for her was to be fleshed out with some friendships so she is not so reliant on Christian for everything.
Another great instalment in the Longhorns. I always devour these books.
Thanks to Tara Wyatt and Netgalley for this eARC.
For what it is, it's very good. It is pretty much just sex scenes strung together with a bit of story. And yet, it still made me really care about these characters and the story. A super quick read.
Scoring position by tara wyatt.
Hannah Miller only wants one thing this summer: to lose her virginity before she heads off to grad school. But without any prospects, she assumes her goal will go unfulfilled. But then she goes to stay with her brother Jordan, a first baseman for the Dallas Longhorns, only to find that his best friend Christian is staying with him. Christian, who is sexy and confident and who’s been the subject of Hannah’s fantasies for years. One look at Christian, and Hannah knows she wants him to be her first. To teach her how to be good in bed.
A very enjoyable read with good characters. Hannah and Christian were my favourite. I loved the cover. Looking forward to reading more from this series. 5*.
A really nice, easygoing, mostly angst free romance with lovable characters.
If you hadn’t read the prior books in the series (I hadn’t) then don’t fear, this is absolutely readable as a stand-alone and the worst that will happen is that you will enjoy the story and authors style so much you want to catch up on the back catalogue.
A stereotypical best friends little sister trope this is a little cookie cutter in its approach but yet still feels different in how the author has written it. Christian is definitely lovable despite the reasons for his transfer, and how he looks after Hannah throughout the story is #goals
Hannah, despite being fundamentally a shy nerd type takes an opportunity to ask for what she wants and Christian delivers in a most perfectly written way.
A delightful (if slightly short) read
Short and sweet book!
I was surprised to find out that this book was only 10 chapters, but I liked how it was a bit shorter with all the hot and spice in it! It's your "teach me about sex" trope with some baseball action and it's definitely a hot book! This is my first book by this author and the only book I've read in this series, but if you read the rest of the series first, I'm sure you'll enjoy this more since you'll know the characters better by then.
Thank you to NetGalley and Tara Wyatt for the earc in return for an honest review.
