I was so enticed by this premiss, and though the book was different than I expected, I was hooked throughout. As a Jane Austen fan and a big fan of retellings of classic stories, I really enjoyed this different take on the Darcy family story. I also appreciated the Darcy's talking about their own privilege and acknowledging the opportunities that gives them.

Something I always love about Pride and Prejudice is the sibling love and relationships. This book captures the spirit of that flawlessly.

This book is a super fun contemporary take on what went wrong for Georgiana "Georgie" Darcy. I liked the way that the author updated the Wickham situation from attempt to marry a young woman for her money and status to using her privileges to sell drugs out of her dorm room and the change in what Wickham and Lydia's relationship had going on (that I won't say because I don't want to spoil it). I appreciated watching Georgie learn lessons throughout and come to understand how her unacknowledgement of her privileges has affected the way people view her. She is a flawed character that not everyone will like, but she felt like a teen. Watching Georgie learn how to connect to other people and not just assume things about them was really nice. Technically, the Darcy/Elizabeth romance is happening in the background of this story and we get to see little snippets of it, but it is not a major focus. This isn't really a retelling of Pride and Prejudice, but an updated extension of a side plot that we don't really see much of in the original.
My only issue with this book is how dismissive Georgie continues to be about her roommate Sydney. At one point, I thought she would try to make friendly overtures to Sydney, but we never really got that. I think it would have been really nice to see Georgie work to make that relationship more friendly. They are pretty indifferent to each other in general, but it would have been even more character development for Georgie to reach out to her.
Overall, Accomplished is a fun contemporary look at trying to rebuild your reputation, self-confidence, and relationships that I think teens will be able to connect with and have fun reading.

Great re-telling of a classic - the modern, YA spin really made it fun to read. Wickham was just an easy character to dislike, and Georgie and her brother were quite the pair - I loved watching their relationship mend as they both grew.

I'll be honest, I ended up DNF this book. I was really excited picking up because of Mr. Darcy and Pride and Prejudice. But, I wasn't caring for the characters that I was encountering throughout the story.

I think I liked the idea of this more than the actual execution. I love a modern take on things, and Charles Bingley as a frat boy is super true, but I felt like Georgie was pretty unlikeable for most of the book and her plans were...ridiculous. To me, any problem that can be solved by just telling someone what's happening isn't a great problem?

So I definitely think there are plus and minuses to reading spinoffs from a story that I adore so much. So for me part of this was good, but I think that was overshadowed by Georgianna and her attitude towards literally everything. I mean I understood her POV to a certain extent but I do think that it felt like at times Eeyore was her ghostwriter. I think for me this is middle of the road. Not the worst spinoff for me, but also not my favorite.

I had been really hopeful for this book because I love Pride and Prejudice and Austen's other works, so I'm always down for a good retelling or twist with those characters. However, this book just kind of missed the mark for me, maybe it was just too juvenile for my age and no longer appeals to me. Overall, it had a certain charm to it but wasn't my cup of tea.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I love this cover, and I really enjoyed a Pride & Prejudice fanfic that involves marching band. I will say that the reader has to have some understanding of Pride and Prejudice characters before they can enjoy this book, and I just don't know how many teens have that unless they're assigned to read Pride & Prejudice in school.

Pride and Prejudice retelling, sign me up!!!

This was a super fun read and I know it will introduct PandP to a whole new group of readers. The die hard Jane Austen fans will love it and new fans will come onboard!

A brilliant Pride and Prejudice YA retelling. I haven't been reading much YA lately as they have felt lack-luster but this one definitely did not feel like that! Good plot and likeable characters!

An amazing take on Jane Austen. An a great YA way of continuing on the story of Pride and Prejudice. Thank you to Wednesday for the gifted ARC my honest review.

I actually really enjoyed this. I'm always a sucker for a jane austen remake and this one struck all the right chords with a YA setting for this. I love seeing the characters in different lights and this was a really enjoyable fun pleasant read.

Georgie is a character in Pride and Prejudice that I would have loved to get more info on so this is a fun retelling.

Set in college and Wickham is still a waste of space trying to ruin her reputation but in a more current day way.

Love that Georgie is trying to rebuild her reputation by gaining the trust of her marching band and getting back in their good graces.

Georgie is in Darcy's shadow, the perfect older brother. And it addresses their relationship and emotional state after losing their parents. Cause I don't think was a focus on the original.

Also, love that she writes fanfic for a historical romance show that is really popular bringing it full circle.

Thank you stmartinspress and netgalley for the e-ARC for my honest and voluntary review.

[ARC REVIEW]
⭐️⭐️⭐️

Pride and Prejudice but make it modern, and from Georgiana's POV.

I've never read Pride and Prejudice, tbh.
This was a very dramatic teenage love story, IMO
Lots of drama!
Real talk tho?! I hated Wickham.

Thank you to @netgalley and @stmartinspress for allowing me to read this story in exchange for an honest review.

A modern day retelling of Pride & Prejudice with a young adult audience in mind. Not terrible but not high on my list to recommend to others either.

I'm not the biggest fan of Pride and Prejudice, so maybe it wasn't a good decision to read a retelling but I honestly don't think it would have made a difference. I didn't care about the main character and the plot wad mediocre.

I was excited about this one, but unfortunately, it just wasn't for me. The story wasn't as compelling as I'd hoped, and I just found the plot to be lacking. It felt too unrealistic for me and the main character complained way too much. It was becoming difficult to read. The idea was great, but the execution wasn't the best in my opinion.

This book was fine. It was very much high levels of teenage drama with a heap of social anxiety and a smidge of romance and friendship growth.

I honestly could have stopped reading this at any point and been okay with the decision. There wasn't really anything that made me want to stick around to find out how things were going to go because it was pretty clear from the beginning exactly how everything was going to happen.

Overall a good YA book about finding out who you are and your place in the word.

Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to review this book.

Synopsis: This book is a YA re-telling of Pride and Prejudice. Protagonist Georgiana Darcy is back for her junior year at Pemberley Academy boarding school where she has been socially exiled after an incident last year. During her sophomore year, Georgiana got in trouble at school due to her association with fellow student Wickham Foster, a known drug dealer at the school. Now that she’s back, she has to show her brother, her peers, and the school that she has changed. Can she turn things around and start over on the right foot?

My Thoughts: I really enjoyed this fun Pride and Prejudice retelling! My favorite part of this book was watching Georgiana grow and mature as a person. I really liked seeing her character arc of transitioning from a more entitled, self-centered person into a mature, kind, inclusive person who tries to be a friend to all.

For Fans of: Pride and Prejudice, Retellings, Young Adult books, books set at boarding schools, Gossip Girl (books and tv series).

I’m always down for a prep school setting, YA novel but overall this Pride and Prejudice retelling just did not do it for me. Fitz was bizarrely protective over Georgie initially, protecting her like property. That toxic masculinity and patriarchal control is not my vibe. However the story did redeem itself with Georgie and Fitz growing a lot over the course of the story. I appreciated the journey.

Sincere thanks to NetGalley, St Martins Press, and Wednesday Books for an advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.
