BIG LITTLE LIES meets HUNTING WIVES. author is a master of character development, pacing, and plotting. brief synopsis: Bryce the politician divorced Shannon to marry a younger woman Crystal. both women move in the same circles of the wealthy town of Buckhead. the social scene is strikingly affluent, and the book never shies away from unrestrained opulence and drama. most characters are usually unlikable, and many scenes take place in the women’s favorite salon, Jenny’s. I didn’t predict the ending.

Unfortunately, this book wasn't for me.

WHAT I LIKED
- This could be a great, bingable beach read! I did want to keep reading throughout, just to find out what happened.

WHAT DIDN'T WORK FOR ME
- The writing: I felt like it read as a first draft. There was no nuance to the text.
- The characters: They were supposed to be unlikeable, I know, but they were also one-dimensional. The dialogue was quite basic.
- The plot: chapters of shallow drama were followed by a horrific reveal that didn't fit the tone of the book, and then everything ended rather abruptly.

Again, you may love this book, but it wasn't for me!

This book started off with a super interesting cast of characters and then fizzled into boring conversations and baits that didn't really pan out. Unfortunately I could not bring myself to finish this.

Okay, color me OBSESSED! This book was everything! There is betrayal, there is drama, there is murder, and there is the inside scoop of the “elite” members of suburbia. I devoured this book and honestly loved every single second of it. The way that we get to see so many different perspectives of the ladies who live in Buckhead was so intriguing. The way that Jenny was kind of the tie for each and every one of the women (due to their relationship with her salon Glow) was so neat and added a really cool dynamic to the police interrogation that we see throughout the story. You definitely love to hate the ladies in this book and you definitely love to hate the husbands even more! The story does keep you guessing, but you will have a pretty good idea as to WHO is the one who dies, but overall, it's a really well-done guessing game story! If you’re looking for a book where karma is key, this could be the book for you! I repeat - I am OBSESSED!

The women of Buckhead seemingly have it all, successful handsome husbands, huge expensive houses, a tight-knit group of close friends; and not to mention a ton of secrets. Shannon: once the fearless leader of the group is now shunned since her husband has left her for a younger woman, Crystal: a young small town girl trying to find her place amongst the women of Buckhead, Olivia: Finally her time has come to be at the top and she will do whatever it takes to stay there, Karen: Has everything she could ever dream of and yet something is missing from her life that she can’t seem to figure out, and Jenny: The owner of Glow, the exclusive salon exclusively for the women of Buckhead. They all have secrets, and all have reasons to keep them hidden, even if that means that someone ends up dead.

This was a fast-paced whodunit that was PACKED with drama. From the first page the reader is immersed into the world of the women of Buckhead; a world filled of manipulation deceit and scandal. The story flips back and forth from the police interview in the present, and the past events that led up to the current situation. There is one woman in particular who takes the cake for queen villain, a character you will LOVE to hate. There was so much build up to the end where I always get nervous because the ending will always either make it or break it and I am happy to say that this ending was very satisfying and unraveled in an easy-to-follow way. I love a good Mystery/Thriller with some rich people drama and this one sure delivered! I want to thank NetGalley and Blackstone Publishing for an eARC of this novel in exchange for an honest review. This title will be available to purchase on April 25th, 2022.

Lifestyles of the rich and dramatic with a twist of murder. Doesn’t sound half bad right?!

It took me a little bit to adjust to the amount of drama but then I was sucked in. The characters are all very easy to hate but you still want to figure out who dies and who is the murderer. This book takes dirty little secrets to the next level of wickedly deceiving.

I’m not one for reality tv but I did watch Selling Sunset and during this whole book I pictured Olivia (the queen b) as Christine from the show and I could not stop.

The late twist was pretty good. The ending felt a touch rushed but everything was wrapped up with a bow. Probably a designer bow.

Thank you to @netgalley and @blackstonepub for this arc in exchange for an honest review. This will be published on my Instagram shortly.

This book was such a fun filled DRAMA-FEST! 4.5 Stars (rounded up for Goodreads).

Jeneva Rose took a group of wealthy women, a bustling spa/salon, a new younger wife from out of town, sprinkled in a power-struggle, added a bunch of POS men and tossed in some crime for good measure....she put them all together and delivered One of Us Is Dead...a quick, infuriating...yet hilarious read about a group of frenemies. The people of Buckhead are people that you'd probably want to avoid at all costs.

Don't even get me started on Olivia, the b!tch we love to hate. She considers herself sort of an unofficial Mayor of Buckhead and if you don't fall in line...she will destroy you.

Trust me when I say, with these women you do not want to be on their bad side. You've gotta be ALL IN or you're OUT OUT OUT...OUT COLD...STIFF...dead.

You're definitely going to want to read this one. I highly recommend it and I also think it would make a fantastic mini-series.

Once again Jeneva weaves a tale with tons of characters, all of them different and totally distinguishable from one another, all fantastic in their own way and totally relatable to the reader. I love when authors do this well.

Thanks to NetGalley, Blackstone Publishing and Jeneva Rose for the opportunity to read & review this one before it is released. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Thank you to Blackstone Publishing for the advance reading and listening copies of One Of Us Is Dead. Unfortunately, this one was a miss for me. Perhaps I’ve read/watched too many similar stories but I found myself bored by this one. And by the time the big reveals came at the end - I didn’t much care. Too many over the top awful characters doing awful things and I just didn’t care about any of them by the end.

4.5 Stars for One of Us is Dead by Geneva Rose
One of Us is Dead is addictive and just down right fun. I couldn't get enough of the drama and meanness of some of these ladies. These women were truly vicious in their intent to stay relevant, at the top, and to show others who's the queen bee of the rich in the town. I loved the setting of Jenny's exclusive salon where things really go from bad to worse. The escalation was fantastic throughout the whole book, you could feel all the tension and resentment building. I really couldn't put it down. The ending was great and went out with a real bang! I really enjoyed seeing them after all these events and h0w they held up, I'm sure till then next thing happens! These is my second book by Jeneva Rose and she is now an auto buy author for me!

Thank you to Black Stone Publishing and Netgalley for my Review copy.

JENEVA ROSE...I legit love your books. All four books have been truly incredible to read!

Desperate housewives' comes to Buckhead. Caddy Wives. Their Questionable Husbands. One Murder. Who did it? Getting to know each character throughout the book was great - sometimes too many point of views is too much for me to handle but with this book, I really knew each character well. When I thought the book was done, I was so sad because the ending seemed so vanilla and then BOOM. Jeneva drops a bombshell.

I truly love all things Jeneva writes and this book did not disappoint.

One Of Us Is Dead is a sexy fast paced thriller. There’s this whole Mean Girls meets Desperate Housewives vibe that makes this juicy scandalous book completely bingeable. In the upscale neighborhood of Buckhead the women are vicious, catty and downright bitchy. There’s so much plotting and scheming, lies, and scandals that it gets pretty crazy. I’m here for it all. 😂 Some of the characters are so horrible that you can’t help but wish for their demise. Which as it turns out being a part of this group does indeed turn out to be very dangerous as it’s not long before something sinister happens. This popcorn thriller was so much fun and I’m glad I got a chance to read it. Thanks to Netgalley for the arc kindle copy of this book.

“Buckhead wasn’t a place you lived. It was a place you survived.”
Oh. My. Goodness. This book had me hooked from the very beginning. It is told seamlessly through multiple points of view, and is fast-paced. There was never a dull moment and it kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. It is full of drama in the best way. Each character is so well developed. Some were loveable and others just downright despicable. I truly felt like I knew them. I devoured this book in two nights, and I didn’t want it to end.
This is the perfect read for someone who is a fan of the Housewives franchise, or simply a juicy thriller. Jeneva Rose just became one of my favorite authors!

Oh this was rock solid and evil in the best ways! I feel like If Desperate Housewives and the Real Housewives had a baby, it would be this! And I am here for it!!
The women of Buckhead, in Atlanta are ultra wealthy, super plastic and vain and all around horrible to each other. Their group is run by Olivia, at least in her mind anyway and now that Shannon has been cast aside by her politician husband, Bryce, for the younger model Crystal, who was a poor waitress from Texas and is now way out of her league with these women, Olivia sees it as her chance to actual be the leader. Olivia has had enough playing second fiddle and will do whatever it takes to take the number one spot. Anything
Karen is the only one of the group with a child, and she just wants life to be simple for her little family, despite her dissatisfaction with her marriage. And Jenny owns Glow, the salon and spa that is the hot spot in Buckhead to be seen at and as such, Jenny has access to many of their secrets, even when they don’t know that she knows.
When all these big personalities combine, the result is explosive and bingeable and there were so many juicy secrets that there ended up with a murder. There’s loads of snippy comments and fancy labels and characters that you love and characters that you hate. This is going to be the boom of the summer and I can’t wait! Of this isn’t a Netflix series asap, I will revolt!
Thanks to the publisher, NetGalley and the author for this eArc in exchange for my review.

I was lucky enough to receive both the ebook and audiobook of this amazing book. I listened to 90% of the audiobook but my family went to sleep and I NEEDED to finish this so I read the last 10%. This book is the ONLY guilty pleasure book that you need to read this year. It has everything! A deep mystery, sex, affairs, money, politicians, murder and lots and lots of catty angsty women. This book was like a breath of fresh air to read. I have been a fan of Jeneva Rose's writing since her first book and I can honesty say that I think she is at her best in this novel.
The audiobook of this was great, there were multiple women playing the multiple women in the book and I love when a publisher is able to provide that to the reader. It really gives you a sense of a change of the characters when listening to the story. I really think this made the book flow and I didn't get lost when there was a new character speaking. I highly recommend the audiobook.
But no matter what format you decide to get, read this book! Put it on your TBR now. Just be warned, get cozy, get a snack and sit down for a marathon read of this. You won't want to put it down!

Wow! The wives, the husbands, the secrets, the drama, the murder... just wow! Mix money with drama and you're bound to have a explosion of an ending. This book was just that too! I was sure that I had this book all figured out but of course, I was completely wrong. There were so many twists in this book, which is one of the reasons I love Jeneva's writing, and each twist made it that much better. The friend group that is "the wives" is so incompatible it literally makes no sense, which is why there is so much drama... obviously. And the husbands, I mean from the beginning you just know that all isn't what it seems. So happy I read this book and I hope others enjoy it as much as I did!

⭐⭐⭐/5

• rich b!tch juicy drama
• multiple POV
• wanted more thrill

I went back and forth between digital and audio on this one. I really enjoyed the audio because it helped me keep all the different POVs straight. These women were just so catty and unlikeable. The ending didn't do it for me. But it was a quick read that definitely held my attention! If you're a fan of any of the Housewives shows, give this one a try.

🗣️Thank you to @netgalley and @blackstonepublishing for the opportunity to read and review this book both via eARC and audiobook! All opinions are honest and my own.

This book blew me away, it had big little liar/desperate housewives vibes and I am here for it. So much fun reading the dramatics unfold, all ties into a murder mystery. There is a secret gay affair, sex trafficking, too much plastic surgery, new money, old money and lots of marital drama and catty women. I loved every word!! Loved the salon being the “club house” for the women. Perfect fun read.

Thank you to Blackstone Publishing for an ALC in exchange for an honest review.

One Of Us Is Dead has big Big Little Lies energy, and proudly so. The setup is very similar: rich town, catty housewives, and, as the title declares, one of them is dead. The POV alternates between all the women, in the past before the accident, as well as Jenny’s POV in present-day, being interviewed by the police.

I am a huge fan of rich-person drama, so I was sold right from the description. Centered around the gossip of a hair salon? What a great setting.

This is the third book I’ve read by Jeneva Rose, and I fell in love with her writing with the very first, The Perfect Marriage. She has a way of spinning very fun stories and drawing you right in. I loved how she had me changing my allegiances constantly throughout the story, and in the end I liked characters that I never thought I would.

The drama and cattiness of these women was so fun to read, and I couldn’t wait to find out who was dead and why. This book comes out on April 26, 2022, and I certainly recommend adding it to your TBR shelf before then.

Soooooo pleasantly surprised with this one! I flew through it, I was even reading it on my phone at one point because I kept picking it up [literally] whenever I had a free second!

Meet the women of BUCKHEAD — a place of expensive cars, huge houses, and competitive friendships 😏

SHANNON — the former queen bee of Buckhead who has been very recently dumped by her politician husband for a much younger new wife.

CRYSTAL — the younger new wife. Enough said.

OLIVIA — wickedly mean and sweet known for her infamous “kinsults” aka “kind insults” and wants nothing more than to be the shiny new queen bee (spoiler alert: she’s a huuuuuuge bitch)

JENNY — constant peacemaker and owner of the best salon in Buckhead who knows way more secrets about these women than she cares to know

…. Not to mention a few other women you meet along the way 😜😉😏

This book was funny, ridiculous, and deliciously vicious! Manicures, mimosas, and murder! 💅🏻🥂🔪 It’s literally Big Little Lies meets Real Housewives. OBSESSED 👏🏻👏🏻 I had so much fun reading this book, and would totally recommend it. The ending was a tad anticlimactic, but it didn’t even matter to me. The book was super satisfying and I really, really enjoyed it!

Thank you @netgalley and @blackstonepublishing for this super entertaining and wonderful ARC! Out April 26! Put this one on your radar!

What do we call it when a book is laid out to be a movie? Whatever it is, that's this book. Our characters have large personalities, which correlates to the large lives they live. Our villain is real and beyond cruel which makes the events of the book absolutely wild. The ending is worth the read, but there comes a point where you just want some action because the majority of the climax takes place in the last 90%. If you enjoy upper-class murder drama then you'd definitely love this book.
