Ugh..I think I have to give this a 2.5. I Started reading this on kindle after receiving this as an eARC and almost DNF. I Got an email about audio ability and decided to try the audio instead. It got better only because I was dying laughing at the ridiculous accents they were giving the southern women and also the men 😂 I was 63% through the book and they’d only mentioned the murder maybe 3 times? And it wasn’t even for full chapters. It was too much house wives vibes and not enough thriller, mystery, suspense, crime fiction. These women were supposed to be in their mid thirties and were acting like they were 13-15 years old. That’s just not the vibe for me. The synopsis made me excited and they were also mentioning cities I lived close to, but then once I started reading I almost instantly regretted my decision. I am absolutely grateful to be given an eARC by #blsckstonepublishing for #oneofusisdead I’m just disappointed I didn’t enjoy it. As always, I’ll l always give an honest review! #netgalley

A great story, that gives you details piece by piece. I could not know who the victim was and who the murderer was till the end. It was a mix of Real Housewives and Big Little lies. Just with bigger secrets, more intense, I think. I keept guessing all the time who was the real bad one but it become clear that reaching the end. It was quite a feminist book. I missed a real man here but ok, a nice change. The end was quite a surprise, those actions I have never seen coming.

While reading the arc I received also the alc and was really nice done. I loved the voices, perfect. Thank you Blackstone Publishing and Netgalley for this great possibility.

After a months long binge into romance and going down some crazy rabbit holes (more on that later), I needed a palate cleanser and One Of Us Is Dead was the perfect choice.

“I always belived there was another option on the table- forgive, forget or ****** never let it go.”

The ladies of Buckhead are absolutely ruthless, and they’re in the middle of a power struggle. As someone who can quote Mean Girls on cue, this books is basically Mean Girls meets Desperate Housewives. And I absolutely devoured it. This was a one day binge read for me.

While this book would be considered a thriller, it was wickedly funny and sassy and keeping me on the edge of my seat while laughing at all the snark.

Join the ladies, grab a glass of bubbly and dive in, I assure you, you won’t be disappointed.

Thank you to the author @, @netgalley and @ for the advanced copy of both the ebook and audiobook!

Pros: Overall, I liked the story, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who likes books about horrible rich women and their drama. I read this book in two days, and that's with a toddler and a full-time job. So it did a great job of sucking me in and keeping my attention.

Cons: Olivia was over-the-top awful, and it was hard to believe she was in any position of power/influence considering everyone disliked her. And they disliked her very openly, even to her face. Also, I hope this gets a good edit before it's released, because the misuse of "you and I" when it should have been "you and me" throughout was so bad that it distracted me from the plot at times.

Review⁣
Get your popcorn ready, because this was fun binge-worthy thriller. Told from five different POV’s and moving from past and present, this slow burn thriller had me guessing until the very end. While reading, it reminded me of The Real Housewives and Big Little Lies. Many of the women in the book were unlikeable, which worked extremely well. I guess that just goes to show, some characters we just love to hate.

This book took me a little while to get into, but wow, once I did? I was totally hooked.

It’s like the best episode of “Real Housewives” mixed with “How to Get Away With Murder”, with all the cattiness, backstabbing and well… murder. As I got more into it, about 20% or so, it started to feel like a car crash you can’t look away from, in the best possible way. I honestly didn’t think I’d like it quite as much as I did.

Thank you to NetGalley, Blackstone Publishing and Jeneva Rose for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review. One of Us is Dead is set to be published in April 26th, 2022.

Desperate Housewives vibes for sure! Loved this twisty psychological thriller and would recommend it to people who love gossipy, suburban drama/crime. Think Big Little Lies?

Rich ladies behaving badly + someone is dead + multiple viewpoints.

I tried, but I couldn’t get into this story. The women characters all read like caricatures of a Real Housewives cast. They were all awful, but not in a fun way. A lot of people have enjoyed this book, but I couldn’t get through it.

I received this as an ARC. I was hesitant to agree to reading this book since the last few I’ve read have been fantasy. I was also in a bit of a reading slump, but I did enjoy this and am glad I had a chance to read it.

One of Us is Dead is told from multiple POV’s from the women of Buckhead. I would get confused and have to flip back a few pages to the beginning of the chapters to remember who’s POV it was. Some of the characters sound the same, but isn’t that also true for small town “it” clubs? I absolutely despised one of the characters, Olivia. Rose did a great job of really making you dislike her especially the first time for her POV. Olivia also just happened to be the “it” girl in charge. It starts with an interrogation from Jenny’s point of few as she recalls the events before one of their deaths. I do love how the timeline is warped with sprinkles of the present intertwined with the past and the way the story unfolded. You don’t even know which of the characters is really dead until the end. The story is character driven, with a complicated set of characters. I was definitely enthralled with this thriller.

Holy SMOKES. New favorite reads of 2022!!!! Thank you @NetGalley and @Blackstone Publishing for the e-ARC of One of Us is Dead.

I normally don’t really enjoy these type of rich bitch drama, I don’t even watch any reality shows but every once a while I secretly enjoy reading rich bitch drama and this one nailed the spot!

“Buckhead wasn’t a place you lived. It was a place you survived”

One of Us is Dead is a thrilling popcorn thriller. Rich mean girls drama wrapped in sex, scandal and secrets— I was hooked from the very first page and I binged in less 24 hours! The ending was so twisty and clever, I never saw it coming though I had a suspect or two of my own.

I will be definitely buying a hard copy of this book

4.5 ⭐️

I thought this book was so fun and very well done! I loved how it was real housewives meets a thriller world. I thought the cast of characters was fantastic and really enjoyed how it swapped perspectives between each person throughout the chapters. The twists and turns that the book had throughout really kept me wanting to find out what truly happened until the end

This was a binge that I didn’t want to put down and would definitely recommend!!

The Town of Buckhead - more riches than people know what to do with. Plastic isn't just their credit cards. It's all about status and holding the power in this town. Jenny, the owner of the most well known salon "Glow" who is the key to everyone's secrets and darkest desires. So when former queen of the town Shannah Madison gets "dethroned" by her cheating, politician husband Bryce, for a Texan girl named Crystal, all bets are off. Shannon sets out to seek revenge. But as Crystal steps into Shannon's shoes as Bryce's new wife, she is quick to realize that maybe marrying him was a mistake. As if Shannon hasn't dealt with enough, insert Olivia, the towns gossip mean girl "Regina George" who despises Shannon and will do anything to be in control. Who will survive Buckhead - and who will end up dead? Does Jenny hold the secret?

"Get in loser, we're going drinking!" Jeneva has written another clever "housewife" thriller that you won't want to put down. A real housewives meets pretty little liars remake. I messaged Jeneva a few chapters in, telling her that I hated Olivia. She laughed and said "perfect!" and that continued throughout the whole book! I wanted to throat punch Olivia so many times. You really get the Regina George vibe from her. She is egotistical, full of herself, and MEAN. I loved the past and present - and even though it's hard for me to grasp multiple POV's (5 total in this book). It was easy enough to navigate and understand since each woman easily had their own mini stories on top of the plot that someone is dead. It is a slow build but the ending is so well worth the wait!

Though I got a bit confused at times because there were so many main characters in the book to try to keep straight, I really enjoyed this book. It definitely checks all the boxes to have diverse characters and hot topics of society of late, many that go against my own personal beliefs. However, thankfully that didn't take up too much of the story. I did like the mystery and the twist at the end. Intriguing plot and fast-paced writing.

Jeneva Rose's One of Us is Dead is brilliant, witty, and impossible to put down. Set in an affluent town in Georgia, the story follows 5 women--3 rich housewives, 1 divorcée, and 1 salon owner through drama, betrayal, and secrets. Readers have to weave their way through Shannon's theatrics, Olivia's meddling, Crystal's past, Karen's self-discovery, and Jenny's peacekeeping to figure out which one of them is dead. Yes! One of them really is dead, and Rose doesn't tell you who until you've certainly figured it out on your own. Rose's writing is compelling and inviting, making readers feel like they're in on the gossip. Even if you hate every single one of the characters, you can't help but love the story.

What an crazy book.
Let me start by saying--this is most certainly a popcorn thriller. No substance, bat shit crazy plot and absolutely no character development. I think you have to be in the mood to read this type of book.
I was in a blah reading mood so picked this one up and it was perfect because it got me crazing something I could sink my teeth into.
Also this was set in Buckhead, which was fun since I used to live there. But there was no location references or even description of the city. Just crazy housewives acting as they do.

The entire book was a joke and just so poorly developed. But it does it's job as a pallet cleanser sometimes. I cannot say this book was good (hence my rating) but I think you have to judge by what you want out of it.
When I think about this title I just giggle to myself.

Fans of reality shows like the Housewives or Selling Sunset will have a fun time with ONE OF US IS DEAD by Jeneva Rose. This thriller uses multiple POVs among the ladies of Buckhead to push the plot along and give insight to each character which made for a refreshing read thanks to the different personalities. Maybe it's because I don't gravitate toward those kind of shows that I wasn't fully in love with this story but it was a fun read overall! The author did a great job of having you sympathizing with characters one moment and then completely rooting against them by the next chapter. The ending felt a bit rushed and I wasn't the biggest fan of what the secret career choice one of the husbands had. THE PERFECT MARRIAGE by Jeneva had such a shocking ending that I felt this one was missing, but I'm still a fan of the author and can't wait to see what she has in store next.

If you’re a fan of The Real HouseWives then you’ll most likely enjoy this book! We are Introduced to Jenny, Crystal, Shannon, Karen and Olivia. All who are fashionable, beautiful, love to gossip, and are extremely wealthy. The chapters are very short and the POV switches between the 5 women. The author did an amazing job at making some of the women and all of the husbands unlikeable. All the twists and turns had my second guessing who I thought would end up dead. The last 50 pages or so are page turners because that’s when the real action starts and it’s finally revealed who the victim is.

Personal Review: 4.5 Stars

Jeneva, girl, you found your genre: thriller, with a side of mystery. After "The Perfect Marriage" I hopped at the opportunity on NetGalley to get an Advanced Copy of your book, and did the happiest dance when I was approved to review. For fans of Desperate Housewives, Selling Sunset, and Mean Girls - this is your next thriller. This book could have been a disaster with the multiple point of views - there are FIVE, but she so flawlessly weaved a tale of wealth, malice, murder, and manipulation from this over privileged clique of women. This book was as addictive as Mean Girls in high school, and Olivia threw all the Regina George vibes. A Mean Girls for grown ups with a side of mystery murder! Olivia was the absolute perfect antagonist, so complex, yet superficial. I was cheering the whole time for Jenny and Keisha and the salon Glow - the perfect protagonists. Shannon and Crystal's relationship development throughout the novel was so very lovely to see. The husbands - were terrible, which is Jeneva's prime trademark. (Funny because her own husband is her biggest champion) The setting of Buckhead is one this Southern Belle bookworm absolutely fell for! Just as I devoured The Perfect Marriage, One of Us is Dead, was no exception - absolutely unputdownable!

I can't thank NetGalley, Blackstone Publishing, and Jeneva Rose for this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

This was a super fast read full of rich people behaving badly! I really enjoyed the different dynamics between the characters. I did have a hard time keeping them all straight throughout the entire story but I think I got the hang of it towards the end. I loved how the ending tied everything up! I do think it was very quick and I wanted more of the “after” part of the story.

This is my second book to read by this author and I am SO impressed! The plot pulls you in from the beginning and continues to develop in a way that keeps you hooked. I was NOT expecting basically anything that happened the last few chapters but the twists made this book *chefs kiss.*

The only criticism I would give is that I didn’t feel like I was able to see the different characters really develop or truly get to know them since the narration changed to a different character (5 of them total) every chapter.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this e-ARC in exchange for my honest review!!!!
