It was okay-ish. Definitely not one of my favorites. To be honest I didn't feel the chemistry between the FMC and the MMC. There were lots of opportunities to explore with the secondary characters but it wasn't. There are so many plot holes and rushed narratives that I was fed up at the end of the story. Just wanted to be done with it. At the end of the book, I felt like I wasted my time. Even the epilogue couldn't fix it for me. I love P. Dangelico's books and have read almost all of them but this one was disappointing. Atleast in my opinion.

Out of the Blue is another strong entry by P. Dangelico. There's definitely a lot to unpack in this book. The main character, Blue Baldwin was raised by her father since her mother wasn't a traditional mother and wasn't "around." Also, Blue has been through a painful life experience recently and had very little emotional support afterwards from her fiancé. She was unable to continue her job as a paramedic and needed a place to feel safe and like she could contribute again. This led her to a ranch in a small town that serves as an animal rescue. She lives on site and has become close with the owner. It provides her the privacy and quiet that she craves.

Then one day, Blue's peaceful existence is stripped away when a well known actor is sent to the ranch to serve out his community service sentence. Before she knows it, the ranch is invaded by Aiden and his grumpy brother, Shane. They are both easy on the eye, but their dynamics are frustrating and stressful for Blue. Of course, it doesn't help that she's attracted to the grumpy brother who treats her as if she's a child.

I enjoyed this book greatly. It's one of my favorite tropes - - the grumpy, uninterested man. P. Dangelico has a way of writing that makes me care about the characters and what happens to them. I find that before I know it, I'm invested in the outcome. Out of the Blue definitely was an enjoyable read,

I read and finished this book, but honestly I just didn't feel it. I missed any connection with the characters, feelings, or explanation. I just don't buy into instant feelings. It was okay, left me in my book slump unfortunately.

I love P Dangelico, but this one didn't quite hit the mark for me. It was very much a slow burn, but I found it to be too slow in some places. I couldn't really connect with the hero and was rooting for the other brother to be the main love interest, but alas, it wasn't to be.
It was still had many of the things that i love from Paola; her writing is beautiful and she always draws me in with her world-building. I just didn't love it as much as I've loved her previous work.

Headlines:
Animals were the stars
Misunderstandings
Fun vibes

If you're the kind of reader like me that is enchanted by animals in the background of a book, then Out of the Blue delivers with an endearing set of rescued animals. The main character, Blue is a bit of a rescue case herself but she's dedicated her life to this sanctuary, off the beaten track. Side entrance, a community service Hollywood star and his entourage. Now this plot wasn't as obvious as it seemed at first glance.

I really liked Blue but I feel like I didn't really get to know her as well as I'd hoped. Shane and Blue were a good potential pairing but they didn't connect outside of the chemistry for me; I wanted a bit more.

Out of the Blue was a perfectly pleasant read and a bit of escapism but it didn't grip me or give me the feels. It's a story that starts with some meat and depth to the story but I felt that the depth I saw initally, petered away. I knew these characters on the surface but I didn't really know them, nor did I connect with them.

All this said, this is the kind of book that I crave for low concentration and it was easy to read and turn the pages.

Thank you to netgalley for the early review copy.

I had not read anything by this author, but the summary was so unique, I decided to try it. I am so glad that I did as this book was both funny and heart breaking. Blue Baldwin didn’t feel as if she was important to anyone, well except for the animals. She loves the animals that she takes care of at the Mother Goose Rescue…animals that have been abused are now loved and cared for. Into her life arrives Aidan and Shane Hughes. Aidan, an actor and celebrity, has been assigned community service hours at the rescue. Shane, his brother, is trying to keep Aidan under control until his time is served. Aidan is fun loving with an irreverent attitude, while Shane is former military and is always serious. As Shane helps her with the animals, they grow closer and she falls in love with him. When Shane’s feelings for Blue become too much for him, he pulls away. Will he realize, in time, that without Blue, his life will be empty? I have been a fan of Ms. Dangelico since reading You Can Have Manhattan and I've been hooked ever since! I love a slow burn, emotional read and Out of the Blue clicks all the boxes for me. I read this book in a day because I couldn't put it down. I simply adore Blue's character -- she's everything I look for in female leads -- she's smart, sassy and brave and there wasn't a thing about her that I didn't like. We would be fast and forever friends if we ever met! And the Hughes brothers certainly know how to create fireworks. I loved how this author slowly peeled back all the layers of Shane--it made him all the more intriguing and mysterious! Aiden is a hoot! And all the secondary characters, especially Mona and Darby, add so much substance to the story line and that overall feeling of being connected to these people. This is a inspirational and uplifting story that touched my heart in so many ways. I laughed, I cried and I loved the animal rescue aspect of this read.! I'd give Out of the Blue 5+ stars "morning, noon & night." I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC for NetGalley.

4.5 stars!

I received this book from Net Galley (but happily keeping my pre order as PD deserves every cent she earns for her amazing writing!)

When Paola writes a book, I’m guaranteed to read it. And once again she did not let me down when it came to Out of the Blue. I read in it one sitting, ignoring my family and loving every page!
Believe me when I say it takes a lot to take me away from 4 children!

This book has the perfect balance of humour, slow burn and the right amount of heat when it comes to a romance. Blue…absolutely loved her! The love interest/brother!! (Mmm…which one??) Wow!! The side characters… loved them just as much and I’m hoping we get another book in this world.

Once again reading a PD book gives me all the feel good vibes, and look forward to her next book!

I'm a huge P. Dangelico fan first off!!   Out Of The Blue, is a very slow burn.  Its a sweet story, I loved where it takes place, on a farm for rescued animals.  I loved Blues sense of humor, her conversations with herself. I wish we could of gotten more from the men in thier own POV's I think that's what I was missing.

I found the story too slow,  I found it very hard to connect to the characters at all. I just wasn't invested like I usually am when I read this author.  To me it just didn't feel like a P. Dangelico story, but I always say you can't love them all.

I will still  look forward to the next release from this author.

I am a HUGE fan of author P. Dangelico. Her writing is fun, sexy, sweet, and often times, just what I am in the mood to read.

Blue works for an animal rescue and is not amused when her best friend from LA arranges for a well-known actor to do his mandated community service on the farm. Who needs a brooding, difficult man like Aiden - even when he is handsome - and then he also brings his older brother Shane who immediately takes over the guest house Blue normally occupies.

Out of the Blue is a a touching, funny, and uplifting story. I loved the slow burn between the main characters.

I can't wait to read more from this author.

4.5 Stars
Smut level: 3.5/5

This was my second book by P Dangelico and I am over the moon to have loved it just as much as the first, if not more. I cannot wait to binge through more of her back catalogue!

If you are after a romance with humour, sexy times, a few serious themes and a bundle of adorable animals, then this is for you!
The characters in this book were just perfect. Our lead female Blue is such an interesting character. She has dealt with trauma after being the victim of physical assault and is healing whilst working at an animal rescue farm. She is strong yet vulnerable, romantic yet reserved and most of all has a heart of gold. I loved her straight away and wanted only the best for her.
The lead male is Shane, a mysterious and quiet man who is a joy to get to know. Plus, he is SO hot. I could easily picture his character and loved him more as his barriers fell.
The storyline is pretty simple but done really well and with tons of cute scenes and brilliant side characters that added loads to the story.
The writing is great and it all came together into a cute yet sexy story that I could not put down. So much so I read it in a day. I wish it had been slightly longer as the ending felt a little rushed but that is the only fault in my opinion!

I highly recommend this book to all adult romance lovers and cannot wait to read more of this author's books!

Please note that I was gifted this ebook in exchange for an honest review.

Out of the Blue
By: P. Dangelico

📚💕⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💕📚

Stubborn with heart!

In yet another good book from P. Dangelico we meet a group of opposites. This book is the definition of slow burn with a bit of hard to get to know you. Written in single POV which for me is not my favorite but the author does a good job keeping you invested but misses a huge opportunity by not giving only one person’s thoughts.

To keep her rescue project going she reluctantly agrees to have a spoiled Hollywood A listener who is in trouble with the law and his brother stay at the farm. Eventually we see some sparks between Shane (the brother) and Blue and it was fun to watch the fall.

Authors blurb: Blue Baldwin takes no horse crap from anybody. Well, actually, that’s not entirely true. She does take horse crap. Piles of it. The real kind that is not the metaphorical one. It kind of goes with the job description when you run a large animal rescue. What she does not take, however, is crap from an entitled movie star who needs to reform his rotten image.

Unfortunately, the farm she manages is in trouble and if she doesn’t raise the cash to save it she’ll be homeless along with the precious animals who depend on her. So she’ll grin and bear the King of Hollywood Screw Ups, and the assistant, and the overprotective brother he brings along. I mean, she takes care of large animals for a living. Isn’t that basically the same thing?

The believable way the characters interact is perfect. Run, Hop, Jump or use your (1 click) finger to do whatever you have to do and get this amazing book. It'll break your heart, you'll want to scream with frustration and it'll let you discover that love just might conquer all. The chemistry is steamy and sweet and oh so romantic.

Thanks Netgally for letting me read and review.📚💕

Current status: positively obsessed with every single thing about this book.

Positively. Obsessed.

You guys. Out of the Blue was the kind of book that you draw out for as long as you can, because even though you can't put it down, you also don't want it to end. The kind of book where you love the characters like they're real people and you are invested in their love story. And so you feel every butterfly in your belly and every bump and bruise on your heart, and when it inevitably ends you feel a little lost because, like, how do you just move on from something like this?

What I'm trying to say is - this is a five star, shout from the rooftops, MUST READ book.

Out of the Blue was the perfect grump/sunshine meets forced proximity story that I didn't even know my heart was thirsting for. I felt Blue - like - in my bones. I loved her so much. And between the sparky chemistry, the witty banter, and the heartfelt romantic moments that literally took my breath away - there is no moving on. I want to live in between these pages, y'all. That's how much I loved this story.

Also, can we talk about the secondary characters for a moment? Lord almighty - between the scene stealing and the heart stealing, it's amazing nobody wound up in prison. The secondary character game here is so strong and it added this delightfully rich added depth to the story for me.

I'm sorry. I know my flaily fangirl is showing. But that's okay because the only thing you need to know is that you need to read this book. If you are a lover of strong hearted heroines and surly heroes hiding hearts of gold, if you are a lover of collies and bears and deliciously decadent (with a small side of quirky) romance - P. Dangelico has you covered and this book is for you! ~ 5 "Morning, Noon, and Night" stars.

If I could ask for anything in the world, it would be just a little bit more from this book.
Dangelico writes some of my favorite in the slower burn category, and this was no exception as far as that goes.
The storyline was beautiful, our heroine was a beautiful soul on a journey, and our hero was the epitome of gruff and grumpy, something we all know I love.
While I don’t mind single POV, and sometimes even prefer them, I think if I had just a snippet from our hero, or just a bit more of something that let me know what was going on in his mind, I’d feel more at ease with this one. The ending snuck up on me, and I really wanted something a bit more drawn out.
I never say no to a book from this author, and that definitely won’t be changing any time soon.

Blue Baldwin, 29, a former paramedic, is living and working on an animal rescue ranch. She cares for many animals that survived a lot of cruelty and she is perfectly content living alone with her boss and friend Mona. But the ranch is struggling financially, so they accept a new ranch resident, a bad-boy Hollywood movie star for a three-month stint on the ranch. He is there to do what the court ordered and recover his image. Everything would be just fine if he didn't bring his brother with him. Shane Hughes, 36 is a former military. All broody and quiet. Definitely a Blue's opposite.

loved:
everything I kid you not
- writing
- characters
- tropes
- atmosphere
- humor
- animals

I loved to see these two seemingly opposite people fall in love. However, I was mesmerized by all other non-romance parts of this book too. Gasp, I know. But trust me, it is worth it. The way Blue's journey goes..a path of healing and hope and recognizing her worth and what she deserves. Letting go of the past, toxicity, and embracing possibilities of the future. The amazing support system of found family and friendship is one of the strongest parts of this story. There is so much healing P. Dangelico gave to her characters.
I ADORE IT.

When I wish for a warm hug of a book, I think about a book like this one. It has all the ingredients of a feel-good read. This book brought me so much joy, hope, and comfort.

A great read

Blue has been hiding out, working on a animal rescue ranch since an incident caused her to quit her job as a paramedic. She is used to a quiet life, but all that changes when a movie star an his entourage arrive in a bid to improve his image. She is not prepared for Share, brother of the movie star. They get off to a shaky start, but things change and what will happen when it is time for them to leave the ranch?

ARC received for review

Meh. It was slow going for a long while. Then they were hot and heavy. Shane was a jerk and brother Aiden wasn't much better.

Now will there be another book with her bestie, Jess after that little bomb dropped in the epilogue.

Out Of The Blue is a great way to spend some time relaxing and getting lost into a charming story.
I loved Blue. I found myself laughing at her thoughts and conversations with her bff Jess.
I wish we had more of Shane on page. We only get very few glimpses of him in the first half of the story.
The cast of secondary characters is strong, and only add more color to the story.
This was low-drama and low-angst. Just what I needed.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

Out of the Blue is a story about trusting your heart. D'Angelico takes emotions on a bumpy trek through life, love and fear of the unknown. Blue and Shane take a stroll through the uncertainty and pain that shadows them and learn from the heartache that touches them. D'Angelico delivers an inspiring story in a soulful voice that speaks the language of the heart.

Blue was an EMT in LA until 'the incident', then she left her job and broke up with her boyfriend. Now she works for a large animal rescue farm. Her BFF works for an agent and when the latest Hollywood megastar goes off the rails she arranges for him to do his community service at the farm - cash for Blue and her boss Mona and lots of photo-ops with cute animals. The only trouble is that said movie star hasn't exited his airstream for days and his surly, overly-protective brother is giving off serious bad boy, don't mess with me vibes.

Can a run-down farm and its animals work their magic on a jaded film star and heal the rift with his brother?

There is some angst, hey it's Paola Dangelico after all, but it has been dialed back, and okay we don't find out what 'the incident' is until quite a way through the book, but it isn't the elephant in the room so I could live with it. Blue was just charming, sweet, unapologetic, and cute. Aidan and Shane are super sexy but also believable.

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.
