I did enjoy this book, but something about it just didn’t quite stick out. There was nothing wrong, but the characters weren’t overly captivating. All in all, while this wasn’t my cup of tea, I’d still read more from this author!
While the premise is commendable for wanting to explore darker issues about sexual shaming and suicide, the writing is choppy and disjointed.
Requested and downloaded this book back in 2013 with every intention of reading it but then it expired on my device before I had the chance. Have felt bad about that and as a result haven't wanted to leave a review but with more and more publishers relying on Feedback ratings I need to clear out some of these older titles in my queue.
Thank You for the opportunity to review this book. Sorry, I attempted to read this book. However, I couldn't get in to it. So, I was unable to finish reading and reviewing it.
I thought the message of the book was going to go in a completely different direction. With a bold title like that, I thought the author was going to tackle bullying and how harmful it is but this was more of a revenge story.
I really really loved this title and it is one I frequently find myself recommending to others! This book touched me in ways I didn't expect and it's one I will continue to recommend.
I feel that, "The S-Word" is a needed book for young readers. It has flaws and is a bit too juvenile for me, but I would recommend it.
