This was an engaging, entertaining book. I found it hard to put down and was always eager to pick it back up. I liked the characters, I liked the story, and will definitely read the next book in the series.

I always know that a book by Lynette Eason will be one that is entertaining from the first page to the last. Life Flight is certainly no exception, from the beginning with Life Flight helicopter pilot Penny Carlton has to set her bird down on Mount Mitchell in the mountains of North Carolina in inclement weather to the last page. With a severely injured climber on board and no cell service, she sets out to find a landline or satellite phone, not knowing an escaped prisoner is out and about. FBI Special Agent Holt Satterfield is also on the mountain looking for the convict. He and Penny are friends and have even gone out a few times, having met when he was injured and a patient on her flight. This is the beginning of a wild time with some crazy people who do bad things with a weird sense of what they believe as the escaped man is one step ahead of them, but he has some help. Twists, turns, action keep this story moving with great, likable characters that you will pull for. This looks to be another winner and beginning to a great new series in typical Lynette Eason page turning style. It kept me up late reading.

From the opening pages, Life Flight by Lynette Eason drew me in and kept my interest (and my heart racing) with an emergency helicopter landing—complete with injured passenger on board and a serial killer on the loose.

Eason is a favorite among romantic suspense authors, and this book proves why. Readers are introduced to several people in this book, and time is dedicated to giving us pieces of their backstories without taking away from the pace or plot of Penny and Holt’s story.

I liked that the main characters had some history so the romance developed and progressed naturally. I also appreciated Penny’s intelligence and ability to keep up with FBI Agent Holt Satterfield. As the two of them share deeper pieces of their lives, the readers are let into their hurts and struggles, making them easy to cheer for.

Strap in and hold on because Life Flight is a book you won’t want to put down. And when you reach that final page, you’ll be ready for the next adventure with Eason.

I wanted to love this book. The plot seems amazing. However I just couldn’t get there. The plot line as just a bit to fanciful. Also it looks like this is the first in the series but the backstories are so developed I thought I was reading book 4 or 5. The author has great writing ability. It just wasn’t the book for me. I think maybe if I had read the backstory books I could have gotten to 5 stars. As it is I have to leave this one at 3. The plot was somewhat weak, and we were just dropped into a story.

Right parts thriller and romance - a delightful read that kept me on the edge of my seat (and up until 2 am to finish)!

Penny Carlton is a Life Flight helicopter pilot, living and working in the Asheville, NC area. She is told by her boss to fly into an oncoming storm and despite her better judgement, she does. Things start to go wrong with the crashing of the helicopter atop a mountain; however, unbeknownst to Penny and her co-workers (and friends), a serial killer, Dennis Rabor, has just escaped the hospital and is on the run on the same mountain.

FBI Agent Holt Satterfield put Dennis away once before and has been called in to capture him again. Penny and Holt have had run-ins before, but with them living in different cities, they have never given a relationship a real shot at working out. In Life Flight, they work together again, trying to look out for one another whilst hunting the serial killer before he gets to them first.

Really enjoyed this book and cannot wait for more from the Extreme Measures series. Plus, Lynette Eason is a fellow Gamecock and with the story set in areas where I grew up, I will make sure to keep the series on my list.

i had never read a book of this kind of genre but i requested it because the summary was very interesting and i have this say this was a very engaging read! i really liked it. the characters and their backgrounds were well developed, the plot kept me reading so this was almost a perfect read. i'm going to keep an eye out for more books from this author!

Life Flight is the first book in Eason's new series, Extreme Measures. EMS helicopter pilot Penny Carlton is used to high stress situations, but being forced to land on a mountain in a raging storm with a critical patient--and a serial killer on the loose--tests her skills and her nerve to the limit. She survives with FBI Special Agent Holt Satterfield's help. But she's not out of the woods yet. The story has some really good plot twists and keeps reading to find out what happens next. I enjoyed the story and the romance is just budding but maybe we will see a little bit more of these two characters in the next books.

Lynette Eason has created another suspense-filled, faith-based thriller. Beginning with an helicopter crash in the mountains outside Asheville NC and ending with the successful apprehension of two (or is it three) serial killers, the reader is kept on the edge of their seat throughout the story.

Penny Carlson is the Life Flight helicopter pilot that day as they are bringing the young hiker who had fallen down the side of the mountain to the hospital. But the storm had gotten worse and she had lost control of the copter. Though the tail was damaged, she was otherwise able to set the plane down safely. Penny had no way of knowing that there was an escaped serial killer on that same mountain - she not only was responsible for the life of the on-board patient along with the two medical members of her team, she also had to protect them from the murderer who had discovered their presence.

Penny and FBI Special Agent Holt Satterfield would have their hands full as they both tried to evade and apprehend the men who roamed the mountain that day. My only disappointment with the book was the level of violence seen throughout the book. I felt I was watching a Hallmark Mystery churned together with a violence filled episode of Criminal Minds (CBS) - it did not quite work. I can only give the book 4-stars.

Life Flight – Lynette Eason

Holt and Penny started out as friends, nothing more. They had occasional phone calls, a few casual get-togethers, but nothing more. But then there’s a serial killer…who happens to be loose on the same mountain where Penny Carlton and her crew are stuck due to their downed helicopter. The FBI assigned Holt to the case years ago…but now there seems to be more to the original story. Penny and Holt must work together to solve the mysteries, before anyone else gets hurt—or worse, killed. Because Penny’s his next target.

With classic Eason flare, Life Flight is a whirlwind from beginning to end. High stakes and questions around every corner. Murders, gunshots, kidnappings—you name it, it’s probably in this book. What makes the novel something special, though, is that it’s believable. Yes, the characters face…a lot, needless to say, but could you expect anything different when hunting a serial killer? Granted, I’m not an expert, though I do enjoy true crime. Good serial killers are not easy to catch, because they are just that—good at what they do, and they know how to conceal their identities.

Life Flight by Lynette Eason features an enthralling plotline with characters you cannot help but root for. And the antagonist? Complicated and intense, with many facets, and a history all his own. I mentioned in my review for Sunrise by Susan May Warren that I read Warren’s novel and Life Flight back to back. Eason and Warren are wonderful storytellers, but more than that, they dream up characters like few other authors I know. So many writers only focus on the protagonists and forget that the stories also depend on the bad guy—or bad guys. Eason developed an antagonist with layers in Life Flight. He was not just a name on a page; I developed feelings for (and against) him.

That exemplifies a good author—you make me feel things. Good and bad. Anger and joy. Breathlessness and thrill. Life Flight by Lynette Eason has it all. It’s a wonderful start to a new romantic suspense series, and Lynette Eason does not disappoint. When does the next novel come out? Because I want to jump back into Eason’s imagination as soon as I possibly can! Write faster, please!

Jumps straight into action!

I enjoyed this book immensely. From start to finish, the action kept getting better and better. As a reader, I love being surprised by plot twists, and Life Flight was filled with them! The characters already knew each other, giving us no meet-cute, but giving us a more realistic explanation for why Holt and Penny work so well together. The characters were well developed and had fully fleshed out backstories, making them so much fun to adventure with.

Life Flight by Lynette Eason may be her best written book yet. Penny was one of the best written female characters. Authors seem to struggle with creating a strong female character that will not do stupid things. Eason did not struggle with this one bit. Penny was intelligent and courageous. Eason put her in some crazy tough situations and Penny handled them like a champ.

Penny flys helicopters for a hospital. She saved Holt’s life over a year ago and they had been keeping in touch ever since. Eason balanced the tremendous action with some serious conversations. And a glimpse at a couple who had been seeing each other for over a year but never shared anything meaningful. (How many of us do this in real life).

Holt is with the FBI and is chasing a furtive that shot him and killed his partner. The villain was very smart while also being crazy.

Eason also did a great job of introducing the series without it getting bogged down with the introduction of all the characters. Truly this book was a work of art.

Life Flight piqued my interest because we have a friend who flies a Sikorsky 76 D helicopter for a local hospital. The hospital's helipad only has space for two aircraft so occasionally he'll park Angel One at the airport where we keep our plane. I had him and his large medical helicopter in mind as Penny was making an emergency landing on a mountain in a snowstorm while transporting a critical patient in the opening scene. What a way to begin! 

Like an action movie, Eason's characters face one peril after another. From stand-off to stalking, drive-by shooting to hijacking, Penny and Special Agent Holton Satterfield are put through the wringer while they hunt serial killer Darius Rabor. If you can suspend disbelief at the way Rabor is able to be everywhere and manipulate situations to suit his devious purposes, you'll enjoy this fast-paced thriller. 

There are a good number of characters and the author devotes ample time to sharing their backstories. Penny and Holt knew each other before being thrust together in the Rabor case so their growing intimacy made sense and felt natural. Penny (pilot), Julianna (negotiator), and Holly (nurse) all met when they were guests of the same juvenile delinquent center. By the grace of God, each woman has turned her life around and I look forward to learning more about them as the series progresses.

A fast-paced, heart pounding thriller! Life Flight is the perfect start to the series with high suspense and danger with romance mixed in. I was riveted from the opening pages until the last word of the book. It is full of twists and turns that I was not expecting and soared beyond my expectations.

Penny and Holt are great characters with depth and mystery that you find yourself rooting for. Penny is surrounded with a great group of friends from her youth who all have very intriguing stories that is hinted at and hopefully explored in future books.

Strong and diverse characters, interesting plot, a satisfying ending with a twist - Life Flight easily checks all the boxes and puts this one on my favorites shelf in 2021. Highly recommended! 5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

“Life Flight” by Lynette Eason was a fantastic romantic suspense read! This book had non-stop action all throughout, and there was a twist that I didn’t see coming! The characters were so likeable and the bad ones are not so likeable! I don’t know how Lynette Eason does it, but she makes you feel like you are actually living the life in her novels. I always feel like I’m one of the characters or that I am at least friends with one or more of them! I highly recommend this book and all of Lynette Eason’s novels. All of her books are good, clean mysteries that keep you guessing until the very end!

Penny a med helicopter pilot and Holt the FBI agent are thrown together again when the threat of a serial killer enters their work lives again. Penny wonders if her and Holt can pursue something more than just a friendship. As they start to try and find out many obstacles and danger keeps them on the defense.
Holt is also keeping something about his personal life secret from Penny. When she finds out she is unsure of Holts intent if he can’t be honest with her.
This book is definitely high level intensity with lots of twists and turns. Definitely 5 stars.

Ah yes. Lynette Eason has done it again. Life Flight—Book 1 in the Extreme Measures series, is a page-turning suspense tale, with a bit of romance. Enough romance that is organically integrated into the story, not the usual formulaic noise.

EMS helicopter pilot Penny Carlton is forced to land on a mountain in a raging storm with a critical patient. She learns that a killer is on the loose and is in the same vicinity as the crash.

FBI Special Agent Holt Satterfield learns that the serial killer he put away has escaped. He joins the manhunt on a mountain with rough terrain and weather. Penny and Holt must work together and independently because it will take everything they have to survive and catch the serial killer—before he catches one of them.

Eason’s ability to create strong female protagonists, along with a community of strong women is a hallmark of her storytelling. Penny’s bravery comes through, even when she takes seemingly unnecessary risks to protect her charges.

Looking forward to the rest of the series.

I really wanted to like this but I am just bso tired of people being hateful bto others because it gets them further in life.

Wow!!! That was a page-turner, for sure! It was honestly a little creepy yet still so sweet, loveable, and appropriate! The characters were more than easy to fall in love with (yep, even the bad guy!) and the plot was just enough to keep you going but not so much that you don't ever feel any resolution in the small things.

All-in-all, it was the perfect balance of everything I look for in a great novel and I've had a hard time finding that lately.
This was my first Lynette Eason book but I will *definitely* be going back and reading her previous works!

This was a very exciting Christian thriller and I look forward to reading more of this author’s work. As a paramedic, books about EMS and police usually make me roll my eyes but this book only had minor errors in medical scenarios (for instance, we haven’t used paddles to shock someone in the field for nearly two decades). However, from a layperson point of view, I felt like I was reading an exciting episode of “Criminal Minds”! At first, I was slightly confused because the book opened with a thrill-seeking, adrenaline rush but the adventure just kept going throughout the entire book! I did feel that this probably should have been the second book in the series though because they referred to a lot of “back story” that I kept having to try to keep track of and piece together in my brain.

Overall, this was a good book that held my attention and I was pleased with the outcome. I look forward to the next book in the series!
