Sunrise is a brand new thrilling, adventure series about the Kingston brothers and their ranch, Sky King.
It was filled with action and has a beautiful background set in Alaska.
Sunrise is the first explosive volume in a new nail-biting series from USA Today bestselling author Susan May Warren and it has all the hallmarks of her action-packed, natural environment, romantic adventures, with a fantastic sense of Alaskan wilderness and the demands it places on the first responders - the helicopter pilots and fire and medical staff - called out to dangerous emergencies.
She sets up a great new series - three brothers, estranged by an unhappy love affair, so they haven't been in touch for years. Pilot Dodge Kingston has always been the heir to Sky King Ranch., but he's been away as a decade before he returns to the destiny that awaits him.
That destiny includes his childhood best friend and former flame, Echo Yazzie, is a true Alaskan–a homesteader, dogsledder, and research guide for the DNR. Most of all, she’s living a life Dodge knows could get her killed. One of these days she’s going to get lost in the woods again, and his worst fear is that he won’t be there to find her.
Phil is a strong, handsome hero with Warren's usual military background, and Warren delivers her fast-paced action filled with danger, family drama, and a swoony romance with her usual flair and energy. A great read, with marvellous details about life in the Alaskan emergency services..

I could not down load and read this novel. The netgalley page showed that I down loaded this book at the end of January. I went to read this book last week and could not find it on my kindle.
I can not review a book I haven't read. I'm not sure what happened.
I went to try to down load it again but it wasn't available.
I'm not sure what happened.
I love this authors book and I'm disappointed. If we can fix this that would be wonderful! I'd love to read it.
Thank you!
Reading a Susan May Warren book is like getting a hug each time you flip the page. Her writing is so captivating, and you wouldn’t think it could get better and then she releases another book. Sunrise is no different. We are thrown into the wilds of Alaska and Sky King Ranch and meet Dodge, Echo, and an entertaining supporting cast. The characters are wounded and lovable. The problems are real and difficult for the characters to solve. This novel had the right amount of suspense and romance to keep me up late! Pick up your copy today.
I very much enjoyed this book! As usual Ms.Warren has done a fabulous job weaving a story that draws us in and brings us on a journey with the characters. The characters are relatable and the dialog is great and the storyline is engaging.
A great story set in a unique and fascinating landscape. It had a nice amount of suspense and action. I really loved Dodge and Echo, especially seeing the growth in their characters and faith. Also some perfectly romantic kisses and one beautiful proposal!
I adore unique fiction, and this is such an interesting premise. I recommend because of the story itself, writing style, and its ability to transport you into a different world.
Another wonderful book by Susan. Her books have intrigue and romance at the right speed. Can't wait for the next one.
The setting for this story is Alaska. While it's never been a place I'd like to visit (I prefer the beach), Susan May Warren makes the reader feel as though they are there.
Dodge Kingston left the family home/ranch years ago following a huge family fallout. He is one in a set of three triplets-all boys. He has been estranged from his brothers and their father since he left. But, now, his dad is in the hospital and cannot operate Sky King Ranch. Dodge is back to help out while his dad recuperates.
Echo Yazzie is still there. Just could never leave. She is a dog sledder, and former love of Dodge. They haven't spoken in the years that he has been gone. She was a big part of his leaving.
This is a great story of faith, forgiveness and reconciliation. I love how the author writes that makes it truly Christian fiction. Many authors just add a teeny sprinkling of Christianity in their books. Not so, with this one. How wonderfully refreshing!
I was given an advanced ecopy by the publisher, Revell and Netgalley. I was under no obligation to leave a positive review.
My thoughts: this book by Susan May Warren was everything that you come to expect from a Susan May Warren book. Adventure. Drama. Romance. Love lost and found. Extreme conditions. Danger. And ever so much more. I had to laugh at the names of the sled dogs.. it was just like she ran out of inspiration and decided to name them after top gun characters. Ànd the names of the triplet boys? Ha. I enjoyed this book greatly and couldn't put it down. I was a verified buyer and no review was required.
I loved this story that has action and romance. There is lots of emotions that Echo and Dodge have had to work through since they last saw each other ten years before. I loved the action and the characters and I am looking forward to getting to know Dodges brothers. There were laughs and some tears. I received a copy of this book from Revell for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.
Susan May Warren always provides a rollercoaster of an adventure and this book was no different!
I loved the setting of Alaska, and felt like the author did a great job of portraying the beauty and danger of the state.
I love how SMW keeps connecting her series so the fact that Dodge is the little brother of a heroine from another series was really fun! I liked Dodge and the way he was a man of honor who tried to do the right thing even when it was hard. And the way that he loved Echo even through their years apart was so sweet. Echo was a tough cookie and she definitely had a lot of resentment from her past but she still had a good heart and was willing to take risks if it meant saving someone else. Both Echo and Dodge had some growing to do but I enjoyed seeing them find their way back to each other!
There wasn’t really a mystery in this book but there were several high suspense scenes to keep you on the edge of your seat!
This book was definitely an adventure and I already can’t wait for the next two books about the other triplets!
Highly recommended! Well thought out and very well executed.Thank you for the opportunity to review this story.
Sunrise by Susan May Warren is not a book for the faint hearted. The story is packed with adventure that can only take place in the frozen North. I had to read the book while wrapped in a warm fuzzy blanket. Of course while I was reading Sunrise the outdoor temperature hovered in the teens here in the Blue Ridge mountains and it was snowing. But Warren's description of Alaskan weather necessitated the blanket. This is first in a series involving Sky King Ranch, a company that does air rescue in remote Alaska. Dodge Kingston and Echo Yazzie are the main focus of the first book in the series. Dodge and Echo have a turbulent history that they would both rather forget. After all, they have both grown up and settled into their new life's. But Fate has other plans. These two seem to have the worst luck! My nails were bitten to the quick by the time I read the last page. The story is exhilarating, the descriptions of the Alaskan wilderness is breathtaking and Warren certainly knows how to make her readers feel like they are right in the middle of the story. My only reason for four stars instead of five is the number of characters and backstories. I had to check to make sure this was the first book in the series. I thought maybe I had missed something. But, after you get past the many introductions and explanations of the characters, the story finally takes off. And it's a wild ride!
I voluntarily received a copy of this book from Netgalley.
I've enjoyed Warren's books in the past, and and love was again renewed last year when I discovered her Global Guardians trilogy! So I was excited to read her latest, and once again she doesn't disappoint! I loved meeting these characters and can't wait for more of this series!
I've always been fascinated by Alaska's cruel beauty, that few ever experience and fewer still can survive! So I loved that Sunrise is set there, complete with sled dogs, survival, and suspense in this majestic land! I've read a few other romantic suspense books set in Alaska, and I absolutely loved getting to see Susan May Warren's take and writing style used here!
She really is a master at romantic suspense, and I adored her latest characters and can easily say I loved this adventure! I'm so excited about this latest series! This one kept me up well into the night reading, and it may just be my favorite one yet!
Having wanted to visit Alaska for quite a while this book just made my desire to go there even stronger. The descriptions in Sunrise are absolutely scrumptious, from the extreme cold and deep snow to the danger and protecting yourself from the elements. The wildlife would be amazing to see providing you don't put yourself in any danger doing so. It's a harsh unforgiving area, you can not have a misstep.
So much intrigued me about this book as I was reading. There is lots of adventure, holding your breath wondering what's going to happen next times.
This is Christian fiction that has captivated me and I can't wait to see what's next because we are left with a bit of a cliffhanger here.Wonderful plot and well thought out characters.

It's been ages since I've read a novel by Susan May Warren. So I wanted to give this new series a try as I have always loved her books in the past. I had a bit of trouble getting into the story - to keep my mind on who is who. But after not too long I started to enjoy the book; the storyline and characters. I'm glad I picked up this book!
Sunrise, by Susan May Warren, shines a light on extreme living in the Alaskan wilderness. This romantic suspense/romantic adventure book lends itself to getting lost in the beauty of untamed wilderness, leaving the reader the ability to escape into the story world.
Dodge Kingston returns back to Alaska after serving in Afghanistan, complete with emotional scars. He confronts the rift with his father, the woman who damaged his heart ten years ago, and the demons of his experiences overseas.
Echo Yazzie lives the quintessential Alaskan life: mushing dogs, caring for her father at their remote homestead, and surviving for days on end in extreme winter conditions. Her regret at how she handled her relationship with Dodge years ago haunts her, and she hopes his return will allow a second changes.
When animals are poached and her friend disappears, Echo risks the wilderness to find her friend. Dodge assists Echo, proving his enduring feelings.
As always, Warren’s writing is beautiful—the scenery, images, and emotions are conveyed well. This seems to be more of a “romantic adventure” than romantic suspense, as the suspense lingers throughout the book, but much is not present on every page. The second-chance romance shows the folly of youth but enduring true love. There is a dangling thread of a Jane Doe that keeps the reader wanting to read the next in the series, as well as the hope of restoration amongst the Kingston triplets.
It has been a while since I have read anything by Susan May Warren and I had forgotten how much I enjoy her books. Sunrise is the first novel in her new series, Sky King Ranch. I was drawn in by her descriptions of Alaska and the intriguing life of people who choose to live in the bush. Susan paints beautiful word pictures of the landscape but also does a marvelous job showcasing people's lives. Sunrise features Dodge Kingston and Echo Yazzie as the main characters. They have a past filled with adventure and hurt. I really enjoyed their story of coming to terms with the past. Sunrise is a suspenseful adventure set in the shadow of Denali. Living in International Falls MN I can really appreciate the descriptions of cold living! So grab a comfy blanky, a mug of tea, and curl up in front of a roaring fireplace while you enjoy Sunrise!
I was given a copy of this book by the publisher with no expectations. All thoughts are my own.
Susan May Warren keeps adventure high in her suspense books. In Sunrise, she takes the reader back to Alaksa, my home state.
The fun of a reading a book in your home state is recognizing the town where the story is set and trying to remember that it is a fiction story! Overall, I did enjoy the story of Dodge returning home to help his estranged father flying business after he is hurt in a crash. His high school girlfriend that broke his heart is still in town and carrying her own baggage and trying to help her dad and run a dog mushing team. Together they have to survive all that Alaska gives them in weather and wilderness lifestyles.
The reader will not be disappointed in this page turner and I look forward to seeing what happens in the next books about Dodge's brothers. I love that forgiveness in different types of relationships is woven through the book.
I received a complimentary copy of the book through NetGalley, but all opinions are my own.
