A fun book about a dinosaur who loves to dance. Looking for others to dance with him, the author introduces many different types of dances while the young dinosaur learns not to judge a person based on looks and/or age.
This was a cute, quick read. My son giggled and danced the whole time. I absolutely loved the story and how the whole family was engaged in the fun! My son loved the illustration and now wants to learn how to do the Macarena lol Thanks for this adorable book!
An adorable children’s story about Darwin, a dinosaur who loves to dance! As he starts to groove, he gets his family involved. They dance a bunch of moves together and then eventually it’s time for bed. This is a really cute story! I love that it goes through a lot of real dance moves, new and old. A great story for all children but especially those who like to dance!
Thank you to the Owlkids and NetGalley for the advanced electronic review copy of this book. This fun story is about a young dinosaur who loves to dance. During the course of the story, he discovers that his parents and grandma have some awesome moves of their own. Great read-aloud that I’m looking forward to sharing with my students.
Five star read. This book is so much fun. Darwin is a dinosaur he loves to dance. He tries to get his friends to join in but the attention he really grabs is his parents. The parents can’t dance it’s just not possible until his parents bust a move and makes the possible probable. Then grandma Joe swings in and the fun is just there! The old-school dances they go through from the jive to the Kid ‘N Play, it’s spot on, it’s perfectly illustrated and when the parents do the dirty dancing lift you’re busting out a smile and laughing. The book rhymes quite well but it does have a few cadence issues but not enough to dim this star. This is a five star read you need to check it out I want to see what this author does next.
This is adorable! Darwin the dinosaur loves to dance, but finds it more fun with company. Looking for some dancing partners, he dismisses his parents as way too old until they show him a thing or two about how they danced back in the day!
There are lots of winks and nods for younger Gen X/older Millennial parents, and even Grandma gets in on the action. The book is full of clever rhymes and expressive words to help build vocabulary. This would be such a fun family read before getting a dance party started. Being of the target age group, it was impossible not to smile at the idea of busting out a sprinkler or Kid N Play for the kids. This could be start of some great intergenerational memories!
Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review!
I received an electronic ARC from Owlkids Books through NetGalley.
Foss captures the fun and joy of a young dancer who explores music others may not. Readers meet Darwin on page one and see how talented he is. They will also connect to his opinion about his parents and grandmother as dancers. Adults will appreciate the older generation's style and energy and may cheer when the grandmother joins the dancing.
This is a trip down memory lane for dances from different eras. The illustrations capture the movement and energy well. Hope families put on music and create their own dance crews after reading about Darwin's family team.
This is a story about a young dinosaur who loves to dance. He thinks his family is out of touch and just can't hang with his dancing moves. But then, his parents bust out some of their old school moves and completely impress him! Then even Granny joins in with dances from her youth. It was an absolutely adorable romp, the illustrations were darling, and the dances mentioned are sure to appeal to the parents reading this to their little ones. It might even lead to them demonstrating a few choice moves! This book is adorable and has a great rhyme and flow. I would recommend this to anyone and everyone, but especially those who love to dance!
