Ninja Kitties Save the Castle - Activity Storybook Mia Never Gives Up by Kayomi Harai - 4/5
There is a lot to unpack with this activity book! These adorable kittens have superpowers, and they use that for the good of the town. The story line was fun to read, and my kids loved the bright colors and how the kitties had a little about them section. The back of the book has an activity section, and my kids love those!
With all characters it was a bit confusing at first for my 4- and 7-year-old. I did feel like the illustrations could have been a little more, they felt "copy & pasted" but the kids didn't notice, and it didn't take away from the experience of reading the story.
Thank you NetGalley and Publisher for the ARC.
My daughter and I loved this great activity book for children. It is full of bright, colourful graphics, which are really beautiful. The writing is beside each set of graphics, laid out like a graphic novel. The story is fun and magical, and my daughter really enjoyed it. Mia has to work hard to retrain her water superpower, so Grandma Tabby helps her, so that she can give the sheep a drink and put out a big fire. At the end of the book, there are activities and stickers, which all children will love. Highly recommended!
Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I mean this with full offense. All of these books are terrible. The illustrator is NOT getting paid enough because everything looks like terrible photoshop, and they keep reusing the model of the wolf and just flipping him so he seems to be in the right direction. This is a book you give to a child so you can have twenty minutes to yourself (no judgment, I have done this and I would do it again. Sorry Peppa Pig). I was not impressed by the writing or the illustrations, The best thing about these books is that the grandmother cat is autistic because she wears the autism symbol (a rainbow infinity sign) on her head (this is presumably unintentional but I like it). If this book was $1 at the dollar store it would be a good buy. Or if my child loved them, I would get them from the library. But I would not intentionally expose a child to these ninja kitties, in order to never have to look at them again. One star.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!
Ninja Kitties Save the Castle Activity Storybook by Kayomi Harai is an absolutely adorable children's book and activity book. The book tells us about the exploits of a group of ninja kitties - adorable kitties that also have superpowers. According to the description, "It’s been hot in Kitlandia for weeks and Mia is having a hard time learning and controlling her special water power." Will she give up being a ninja kitty?
Overall, this book is a colorful and engaging children's picture book that also teaches children good lessons about teamwork and working together. One highlight of this book is the artwork. The ninja kitties are drawn in an adorable way, and the artwork is top-notch. Another highlight of this book is the activity pages in the back, which include word puzzles and mazes. If you're intrigued by the description, I highly recommend that you check out this book when it comes out in June!
This book is a good book. But, I could only residual of it because some of the story got chopped and couldn't read it. I loved the gist of the story. It's very precious and it's so cute. I loved that there is activities for children to do during the story.. I want to give this a 5 star but I don't think I can because half the story was cut off. I am not sure if it's the download itself or if it's my kindle.
I received a free copy of book and is voluntarily writing a review
Ninja Kitties Farmer Fluffs Sheep and the Sparkly Boots.
Bee-Bee and Sora have a few lessons to learn & in this little book they learn sharing & putting other people's needs above their own.
Another Kitlandia tale with adventure, the Fang Gang, princess/princes, ninjas, & of course a lesson from Grandma Tabby. Such cute books by Rob Hudnut, Kayomi Harai, & Happy Fox Books. I can't wait to add them to my childrens books shelves on June 1, 2022!
