The war in Chechnya. A surgeon who returns from London to be with her sister. A sister who gets lost in the attempt to become a refugee. A daughter who is left parent less when the special forces show up in the middle of the night. A husband and doctor who graduated at the bottom ten Percent of his class finds work at a hospital. A wife who has been an invalid for years. A father and author who hasn't spoken to his son in two years. A son and best friend who finds a place in the black market. All of their stories connect as they go day to day looking for and finding one another.

One of the most beautifully written story I've read in a long time.
I couldn't persist with this. I found the characters' dialogue precious and unbelievable, too ostentatiously literary.
