This is an excellent book! No other words needed! I really enjoyed this book! Thank you for a great book!
A lovely story of stepping away from the fast track and gaining strength in independence and appreciation. A small town welcomes and accepts this mystery woman who is looking for a change and space to find herself again. While a hometown boy has his eyes and heart set on the rodeo and adventure, their paths cross and a friendship is kindled over the things they both might not realize they need. Each other!
My friends and I interviewed Nancy Naigle about this title on StoryChats podcast here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qs_5LR2t-3A
There’s nothing Nancy Naigle writes that I don’t just adore. Literally all of her books are perfect for #Hallmark movies & she literally has several of her books that are.
#WhatRemainsTrue is no exception.
So many thank yous, Nancy Naigle, Water Brooke & Netgalley for my copy! All opinions are my own.
Merry Anna is recently divorced, and an Executive workaholic in her family’s business, where she has been working since she was a teenager. Her ex is complaining about the amount of money he gets in alimony, so they cut a deal and she agrees to live on that amount for 3 months. She settles in Antler Creek where life is slower and she is able to live more simply, and at a slower pace. Adam is a rodeo star, who finds his life turned upside down when an old flame shows up at his door with a 5 year old daughter Adam didn’t know he had.
I really liked both characters and seeing how they both need changes in their life, and are reaching for just about the opposite things, but are able to connect. This was a cute story and I really enjoyed seeing how the story unfolded.
It’s not that this isn’t a good book but it gets to be a little too preachy at times and I’m not really a churchy kind of person. I didn’t realize this going in so just wanted others to be aware.
I absolutely love Nancy’s books and I would recommend her books over and over again just not necessarily this one.
What Remains True is a heartwarming story of second chances. The romance was sweet, the faith theme was well done, and I found it to be a great read.
I received a complimentary copy of this book and was not required to write a favorable review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Newly divorced Merry Anna Foster moves to Antler Creek with something to prove and for a slower pace of life. It was fun watching her find herself again, try new things, and finds a new friend in the handsome bull rider who is her neighbor.
A heartwarming romance of second chances and new beginnings. An enjoyable read, with a sweet romance, and themes of faith and new starts. Both the character have a lot going on in their lives, with big changes that have them questioning their futures. I liked that Merry Anna was already a Christian and how she is there for Adam when his life is turned on its end.
Overall, an entertaining small town read, with a second chance romance, great characters, and a beautiful setting. I especially loved how Merry Anna bonded with Zan as she helped her feel at home, and Adam's cute Corgi.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Merry Anna stops on a whim in a small town by the name of Antler Creek, for a meal and decides that this will be her new landing spot after her divorce. Looking for a new start, she has never been so happy in her entire life. Her new job at Hardy House Fine Linens and Gifts, and new home has her in an emotional blissful state. Which is a welcome change after her recent divorce from Kevin. Totally immersed in the local town events, Merry Anna never knew life could be so good. And it gets even better for her when she meets the local rodeo star, Adam Locklear. The local dreamboat of a man, and owner of the local Locklear Feed and Seed is very intriguing and can even cook. Learning about the domesticated side of him, with a pie baking lesson, was a very pleasant learning experience and a talent that Merry Anna was not expecting of him. But a twist of events brings even more love into Merry Anne’s life from the unexpected surprise in Adam’s life. The author warms the heart of the reader with a great storyline of love and happiness. Highly recommend the book!
Nancy has done it again! I loved this small-town romance. With Merry Anna determined to prove her ex wrong, and with sparks flying with Adam Antler Creek was the perfect spot for finding herself again. Then when Adam finds out about a secret daughter, it turns his life upside down. But my favorite character is Tara, Merry Anna's feisty neighbor. We need a story all about her!
Such a sweet and lovely story! I adore Nancy Nagle books. You can never go wrong with her books. 5 stars

What Remains True by Nancy Naigle is a lovely book about second chances. A woman starts a new life in a small community and finds a life she never dreamed of. I loved everything about this book— the realistic characters, the romance, and the unexpected situations. The small community setting of the book might just be my favorite part of the book. I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher. These opinions are entirely my own.
There are so many reasons to like this book. Characters that are imperfect but oh, so likable. Who doesn't love a cowboy, and who wouldn't sympathize with a woman who's been betrayed by a cheating husband? Add some special friends and throw in an adorable little girl who's a complete surprise to the man who fathered her. Mix in some twists and turns, stir in a lot of misunderstandings and place them among beautiful barn quilts in a small town in the North Carolina mountains. The result is a contemporary romance that will have you turning the pages!
Author Nancy Naigle has written a story that leaves readers yearning for a happy ending and hoping for a Hallmark movie! If you enjoy the 'friends-to-more' trope, you definitely want to read What Remains True.
I received a digital ARC of this book from the author and publisher. There was no obligation for a positive review. These are my own thoughts.
BEAUTIFUL, HEARTWARMING ROMANCE!
Nancy Naigle’s What Remains True is a beautiful, heartwarming romance. She has chosen the setting of small town Antler Creek, a place where people still know each other by name and care for one another like family. What I like best about What Remains True is that Naigle has written a story where her characters are realistic, they face real-world problems, they think through several different scenarios before making a decision, and there is a love story woven throughout even if it goes around and through and over and under many hurdles to get there!
I was provided a complimentary copy of this book by Water Brook & NetGalley. The opinions expressed here are completely my own and without influence.
Such a charming and heartwarming romance! It was a great escape read.
Many thanks to Waterbrook and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.
This book had me laughing with delight one minute and swooning the next. I was attached from the very start. I loved the storyline, very intriguing. The main characters were very relatable and
My only thoughts and reasonings for not giving a solid 5 stars…..
The ending felt very rushed.
SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
All of the sudden a flood comes and the strong, strapping Adam can’t wrangle his own distressed horses? I mean, he’s a livestock owner and like he’s nowhere to be found during a torrential downpour? So Merry Anna takes it upon herself to boat over to them and get her elderly neighbor caught up in the mess instead of just going in the bunkhouse and waiting it out? I want the horses to be rescued, don’t get me wrong but it’s pretty unbelievable that Adam didn’t take care of that, on his property, himself. Then, boom, Adam forgives her for lying. All is forgotten, everybody is fine as a frog hair and it’s rainbows and sunshine. Her parents see the light all of the sudden regarding her Ex. Oh Adam I love you. Oh Merry Anna I love you. I’ve got a barn quilt to make,
THE END.
Sighhhhhhhhh………..what in the name of all that is holy regarding book endings?
So, so close to 5 stars! A little more effort into that ending and it would have been 5+ !!!
This was my first Nancy Naigle book and I promise, it will not be my last because the 95% of the book that didn’t involve the odd ending, WAS SPECTACULAR!
I was given an eARC from NetGalley and the book’s publisher in exchange for my honest review.
What a wonderful story of two people who both fight a attraction. They both are convinced that they can't get involved because they are not ready at this time in there life. Just loved how it moved along so fast.
Naigle has written a heartwarming novel in What Remains True. A small town setting with very friendly people. A rodeo rider who has always dreamed of winning the finals. A wealthy divorcee who is tired of it all and means to prove to her ex that she can live on the small alimony she is paying him. When Adam and Merry Anna meet there is an instant attraction but neither is looking for a relationship, just want to be friends. Then there is the fatherless child that arrives on Adam's doorstep and her mother leaves her there with a startling announcement. These main characters Adam, Merry Anna and the unconditional love of a child help this book to be a very interesting read filled with lots of twists. Can each put their dreams and desires aside to find the happiness and love they so richly deserve? Thanks to the author and publisher for an e-copy and I am happy to leave a review.
What Remains True
Captivating read! The book was fiction but could have been (partly) based on truth. A Christian read, but not in your face.
