Going to be upfront here; I've been waiting for Elias's story for it seems like forever and in my opinion it was well worth the wait! There is a blend of nerve stretching tension and fun woven throughout this book and that kept me firmly engaged and fiercely invested. The chemistry and sparks light up this book and I found it very east to connect with the characters. Danger and desire skillfully share the same playground with lots of emotions, drama, twists, glimmers of humor, tension and heart. I loved it. It was super enjoyable and it hit me with some very satisfying feels and swoon.
I have never read any Mary Hughes' books and I am not a fan of vampire books but this sounded really good. I am so glad that I did because this is a fantastic story. Now I need to go back and read the others.
Paranormal action-adventure with sweet and passionate romance
This is the third book in the series and I’m not sure if reading the first two would have made a difference but I get the feeling that there are characters I might have known if I had read the first two who have been introduced in this book. “Night’s Bliss” seemed to bring an end to a story arc that may have started earlier in this series. Doesn’t appear to have made a matter in the plot but for interest’s sake, might be something to consider. Otherwise, I loved this story.
Rey has gone undercover as Relia in the Vampire Umbra’s stronghold to get the antidote for Greyson for whom she has strong feelings. Her past has led her to hate vampires, but what she doesn’t know is that Greyson is the “human” side of Kai Elias, the Ancient One, the longest living vampire. Their exploits and the love they share make this a page-turner. Well-written, fast-paced paranormal romance with several surprises near the end. There was unexpected humor while spooky and cleverly done. Great characters. I’m so glad they got their HEA. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book through Entangled/NetGalley.
I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This was a DNF for me. I think a lot of readers will appreciate the abundance of attitude, this text has a really distinctive writing style that just doesn't work for me.
This is a vampire story that's unlike any others I've read. It's an interesting new spin on a classic "character." The story is a little slow at times, but I was definitely hooked enough to power through and I enjoyed the story overall. The love story is full of anticipation. It's a good read!
