Imagine being a beautiful super model, and one thing happens and turns your world upside down? This book was so good and not like her others, this book makes you think about whats important over the physical looks! She definitely portrayed a wonderful message in this book and I hope everyone that reads it gets the same meaning from it! Another amazing book by Danielle Steel!

This was a very different book from this author. Usually, the main female character is not complete without a man on her side. This book portrays a young woman in her early 20’s who finds herself alone in the world and demonstrates the strength and courage to succeed. Now, it does help that she has a few million dollars to accomplish that.
Veronique Vincent is at the top of her game, modeling worldwide and in high demand. There is an explosion at Brussel’s airport with her boyfriend and mother, and Veronique is the only survivor from her group. After facing psychological and physical challenges, she finds meaning in her life.
Was this a life-changing novel? No. Was it a little repetitive? Yes. But it kept me entertained, and as I said before, it is a different book from this author and, in my opinion, one of her better books.

⭐⭐⭐.6 Rounded up
I have been a big Danielle Steel big fan for many years and could not wait until her next novel was release. I drifted away from her Romance/Chick-Lit as the story seemed too simplistic and move to psychological thrillers. Have to admit that I have read over forty novels in the past 45 years ~ so yes, there is a loyalty magnet that has a hold on me as I still have soft spot for Ms. Steel’s novels; so every once in a while I check her latest.
When I read " Invisible" back in October I was surprised that the story was so emotional.

When I read the promo for this story, it got my attention.

Veronique is a beautiful top model~ however she and her mother are injured in a terrorist bombing in Brussels. Her mother and boyfriend Cyril are killed immediately ~ two people she loved the most and although she survives, her body and half her face is severally scarred.
She has lost all that is important to her ~
o Her mother
o Her boyfriend
o Her beauty and
o Her career
This story covers Veronique dealing with the trauma of healing physically as well as emotional from the terrible terrorist attack.

I always love to read the Author’s Note and/or Acknowledgements ~ they typically give us the inside scoop on the author’s motivation for writing the story.

As mentioned I have read many Danielle Steel novels, I am always curious her motivation ~ where she got her inspiration but her novels usually never include this information..

Want to thank NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group ~ Ballantine for this eGalley. This file has been made available to me before publication in an early form for an honest professional review.
Publishing Release Date scheduled for April 19, 2022.

Fashion model Veronique's life changes in a matter of seconds when she's part of a brutal terrorist bombing in Belgium. Not only does she lose her mother and friend in the bombing, but she suffers disfiguring scars on half her face and the rest of her body. Suddenly, her very identity is ripped away from her. Veronique becomes a recluse because she doesn't know how to face the world now that her physical form is damaged beyond repair.

But this would not be a Danielle Steel novel if Veronique's life didn't have a glimmer of hope. During her journey back to mental wellness, Veronique encounters many people who help her to realize that her identity is not based on her looks alone. She becomes part of a documentary about other bombing victims who have suffered like she has, and she she finds some philanthropic opportunities to help others in need.

This is a life-affirming story about one woman who lost everything and rebuilt her life out of the shambles, even stronger than before. It's a quick read with likable characters you can care about.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me an advanced reader's copy in exchange for my honest opinions.

This is an uplifting story that shows that beauty is only skin deep. Veronique is on top of the world with her modeling career until tragedy strikes and she is forced to see herself in a completely different light. How Veronique picks up the pieces of her devastated life is truly inspirational. Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the chance to read an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I would like to thank Random House Ballentine and NetGalley for allowing me to read this book. I have been reading Danielle Steel since I was a teenager. Her books in the 80/90s were known for ending and you wanting more. I have read the last dozen books and while I enjoyed most of them, I was ok when it was over. I turned the last page and was so sad this one was over. Veronique was a model who had the unfortunate luck of being at the same place as a terrorist attack. After losing two people close to her, she had a fight on her hands to live. I beyond loved this book. There were parts that were pure Danielle (the most people, the luckiest, the wealthiest) but it was beyond amazing.

Danielle Steel novel about a beautiful model who is caught in a terrorist attack and her face become disfigured. I liked that it didn't involve a romance. It was about Veronique finding herself again.

Danielle Steel knocked it out of the park (again!) with her newest novel, Beautiful Veronique Vincent is someone I imagine seeing in the magazines. She's one of the most iconic fashion models of her time and seems as kind as she is talented. She keeps her head above water in the high fashion world and her relationship with her mother is one to admire.

Life changes in an instant when she's on ground zero during a horrendous terror attack. Her recovery turns into a story of triumph, medical marvels, and the benefits of keeping a positive attitude. Steel hits on the theme of beauty and the standards in the industry and how beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to review this book.

The basic synopsis is this: supermodel Veronique Vincent Is heavily injured during a terrorist attack in Brussels and loses her mom and boyfriend. She has to learn to live with losing her mom, her career, and her beauty. This book was a phone it in, barely-there plot if I have ever read one. Nothing of note or interest even happens until 85% through the book. and even then it's rushed. This book felt more like an outline of an actual story than anything substantial. I don't know anything about the main character except she's beautiful...or was until half her face was scarred. The majority of the book is just about her face and her not being conventionally beautiful anymore. The number of times the title is used on the page is ridiculous. Please don't do this as a drinking game, you won't make it.

What annoys me most about this book is not only the repetition but the fact that it' takes a very serious, heartbreaking subject and turns it into inane, vapid fodder. I should have felt such empathy for this character, but I felt nothing. I know Steel can make you feel things for characters, she's written some lovely stories that will rip your heart out. This isn't one of them. Instead, it is a girl feeling sorry for herself because she can't be a model anymore. There are some lame, half-formed platitudes about beauty being subjective or internal, but let's be real...she' feels her life sucks because her face is damaged. She's ashamed of her scars because they make her feel less perfect. Sure, there are subplots in there, but they do nothing to flesh out the story. I didn't feel any of the trauma or depression she would have felt in this situation.

Another good story from Danielle Steel. I’ve read all of her books and this one is quite good. A little bit of a stray from her ordinary. I really felt for the heroine, she had spunk and tenacity and was never what one would expect from a supermodel. Kept me invested and I only put it down when I had to go to work…fans of DS will love this one!!

This is a beautifully written book. The characters are real and I felt the pain that Veronique felt during her terrible journey. In today's society I feel the theme is ever present and this book covered so many aspects of being "beautiful." There is a wonderful, heartfelt lesson in the story, one that many reading could relate to. Danielle Steel covered this issue quiet nicely. From beginning to end, the story is told in a gripping way.

A ruthless terrorist attack at the airport in Brussels has the entire world on edge. Veronique the most sought after model in fashion industry. She has been on the covers of magazines and walking the fashion runway many times. . She is in the hospital and alone when she is told the blast has killed both of the people she loved most. Danielle Steel presents a story of one woman’s breathtaking perseverance in moving beyond tragedy to a life more meaningful than she could ever have imagined.

This book was a really good easy read, I such a sad start to the story and everything Veronique had to go thru was just startling. There were so many different ways this story could have went but it was just a story about a young woman alone and finding herself because she didn’t have a choice not to. So sad in parts but such an easy story to get caught up in. Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the ARC!!

Such a different but great book dealing with Bombs and how it changes those left behind.

A model is in the wrong place at the wrong time and this is her story. Very well done.

I just wish we had another chapter to two, I didn’t get the closure that I was hoping.

Loved this book. Seeing how terrorists destroyed so many lives and how one person who had a brilliant career now has to deal with everything that happened to her. She no longer has the career she once had and how she has the courage to move forward.

Loved this book! Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC, read it in one sitting. Danielle Steel is on fire, this book reminded me of years ago Danielle Steel books with very strong female characters.

Just WOW! Danielle Steel pulls your heartstrings as well as lifts your spirits with this moving story. Veronique is a model who seems to lose everything, through a senseless act of violence, in the blink of an eye. As you follow her on her recovery journey, you find that her beauty shines from within. I will definitely be recommending this beautifully poignant story.
