Amazing book. I'm not one to purchase actual books anymore as I use Kindle a lot. However, this book is ravishing with information. While there are plenty of recipes, some are as simple as Ricotta scrambled eggs, there are some more complexed. The Broccoli Cheddar Tart was Devine. The take away for me was the "Knowing Your Eggs". I learned a lot and now but my eggs from a local farm. She was right, there definitely is a difference in fresh eggs.

I am so excited that I got to help celebrate Steele's awesome cookbook on pub day! I learned so much from reading this cookbook - from information about ways to make eggs to learning how to buy the freshest eggs (seriously a GAME CHANGER!) - and it's on rotation in our house right now!

So far, my favorite recipe has been the Fried Egg on Buttered Avocado Toast - and it was delicious! The recipes here range from the basics of serving easy scrambled or fried eggs to the more difficult egg making techniques, as well as ways to take eggs out of just breakfast and incorporate them into more meals in the day! I haven't made it yet, but the Pulla Bread and Broccoli Cheddar Tart are high on my list of "MAKE THESE SOON!" recipes in my notes app. I am also looking forward to making my own pasta with her recipes over my break from work next week!

I am so thankful to @NetGalley and @HarperHorizon for the advanced e-copy of this cookbook in exchange for my honest review.

Who would have thought you need a whole cookbook about eggs? Well you do. This has so much variety and everything we have tried is amazing. One must try is the lemon fried eggs, these cause you to question why didn't I think of that. The cheesy baked cream eggs are buttery and delicious. We have also made the trifold french omelette and that was excellent as well. I will continue cooking through this book and will definitely repeat the recipes.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for an ARC of "The Fresh Eggs Daily Cookbook." I just started a diet which is egg-heavy and needed some inspiration for how to prepare them beyond scrambled and hard-boiled, so this came along at a perfect time. The cookbook is beautifully done with the layout of the recipes and the photographs. I enjoyed the introduction and learning all about eggs. The recipes opened my eyes to more creative ways to prepare eggs and I am very grateful for that. I will definitely be buying a hardcover version of this cookbook for my personal collection.

The Fresh Eggs Daily Cookbook by Lisa Steele is an amazing, delectable cookbook that focuses on one ingredient: eggs. The recipes include various types of dishes involving eggs.. According to this description, the book contains "go-to recipes for everything from breakfast staples, like eggs Benedict and a classic French trifold “omelette,” to breads, sandwiches, beverages, snacks, soups, salads, pasta, cakes, pies, and condiments."

Overall, The Fresh Eggs Daily Cookbook is a delicious cookbook that will appeal to home cooks everywhere. One highlight of this book is the amazing full-color photos. I was drooling over the photos as I read this book. Another highlight are the step-by-step directions to create the meals. The book was very inspiring to me, and after reading it, I can't wait to try some of these recipes on my own. If you're intrigued by the description, or if you're a fan of cookbooks in general, I highly recommend that you check out this book, which is available now!

Whether you could consume eggs 3 meals a day plus snacks or limit your consumption to a single meal, this cookbook provides a myriad of permutations and suggestions for diverse presentations. Lisa Steele begins with a lyrical tale of her transformation from a Wall Street clone to Maine chicken farmer, blogger, multimedia presence, and cookbook author. Her advice is practical while destroying a number of false beliefs on the cooking of eggs. She covers a broad array of eggy dishes from deviled to omelets to muffins and cakes and various kinds of marshmallow. Along the way she has special cookery sections for the home cook’s normal conundrums. What to do with all those yolks or whites left over? She has yolk or white recipes all gathered together to easily choose among. You have how many eggs you’d like to use up? She has an index showing recipes classified by the number of eggs each uses. This is an essential cookbook which should have pride of place on every home cook’s shelf.

TITLE: Worthwhile egg book--even for the experienced

Chickens are near and dear to my heart—having raised several dozens of them for many years when we lived out in a rural area that allowed such luxuries. And, yes, I call raising chickens a “luxury”, even though they are a lot of work. They brought peace to our yard and to our lives, also a sense of well-being that is irreplaceable. Truly, not replaceable, as I can confirm now, a decade later. I miss them: Miss Ellie, Lucy, Buffy, Hilga, and all the rest. Oh! And I surely do miss their eggs, too! So, for me, reading this book brought a lot of that back.

Being experienced with chickens and eggs, you might think that this book would be dull for me. But, quite the contrary, I loved it. I learned many recipes that were not part of my repertoire. And the very personable writing style of the author brought back lovely memories and happy days.

Recipes are well-detailed and thorough. Ingredient lists are not long, and ingredients not hard to find. Instructions are not complicated, and are easy to grasp, to understand. There are a good amount of photos of the setting and of ingredients and finished dishes. (But there is not a picture for each recipe.)

The book begins with the chickens, then info on eggs. You will find tips on how to buy and handle eggs. Then techniques for cooking them. There are the expected basic egg recipe, but maybe with unexpected ingredients: Quiches, scrambles, frittatas, oven baked, skillet-made, for a crowd in the kitchen or a meal for one. How about a lemon-fried egg? The chapters drift from breakfast, to brunch/lunch, to snacks, and dinner, desserts, condiments and sauces, too. There is an unusual (extra) index of “Recipes by Number of Eggs Needed”.

There are several recipes for baked eggs and eggs in pots that are totally new to me, and I’m thrilled to have them! I love the “Cream-Fried Eggs and the eggs baked in winter squash rings, too. And a kind of Dutch Baby from Finland called Pannukakku. There are pancakes, muffins and popovers, bread pudding, egg sandwiches and deviled eggs. There is a variation of one of my all-time favorites: Gruyere Gougeres. And a recipe to go with your eggs: Brown Sugar Maple Bacon. There are drink recipes that incorporate eggs. Home-made egg pasta, pasta dishes and baked casseroles. Quite extraordinary, I think, is the Egg Yolk Ravioli.

I’m not much of a baker, but there are loads of cakes, pies and cookies. There is cheesecake, pudding, ice creams, meringue desserts and more. Plenty to keep everyone happy.

There is a very worthwhile chapter that brings the book to completion: Ways to use up egg yolks (mayonnaises, sauces, creams and more puddings), and ways to use up egg whites (meringues, marshmallows, frostings).

So, I think this is a totally worthwhile egg book—even for the experienced.

This is a great book for anyone who loves eggs, or just wants some interesting w recipes. Lisa covers the basics, such as scrambled and poached eggs, and she includes lots of recipes for every meal, which look delicious, and most of them seem to be relatively easy. Just looking at the beautiful pictures is enough to make you hungry, especially the ones for pancakes, some of which I hope to try on Shrove Tuesday!

I received this free ebook from NetGalley in return for an honest review.

Things I expected when I picked up The Fresh Eggs Daily Cookbook by Lisa Steele were, of course, recipes. What I got was that and a whole lot more. Not only do I now know what to look for when buying eggs, but I also have new techniques on cooking eggs. Okay, so some of the history and background the author provided really wasn’t my cuppa, but it at least gave me an indication that she really did know what she was talking about. Now, on to the recipes!

Who knew you could bake eggs? Or freeze them for that matter! So many yummy ideas to choose from, I may never scramble an egg again. I could literally eat eggs all day. The presentation pictures are great and not too over the top. I’ve tried out several recipes on my family, including the non-egg eater, to a rousing success. This book is now a firm staple in my kitchen. I highly recommend it.

A nice comprehensive book for those who have an interest in raising chickens and the recipes to use those eggs. As an owner of a bed and breakfast and I am always interested in new egg recipes and this book does not disappoint. There are the standard simple egg recipes, scrambled, shirred, fried etc but I was interested in the unconventional recipes. There are french toasts, pulla bread, and eggs in filo dough, Finnish oven pancakes. The illustrations are superb. I would definitely want to keep this among my go to cookbooks. Thanks for the opportunity to review this book.

This wonderful book gives not only a multitude of wonderful, and mostly simple, recipes to make your fresh eggs even more delicious, but it also gives all sorts of helpful tips about gathering, storing, and testing fresh eggs yourself.
