This was a pleasant surprise of a book. I've read a few cookbooks that like to focus on one major ingredient such as tomato or rice and each time I am surprised by the number of recipes they use that can showcase their star ingredient. this was an exceptionally well written cookbook where in every recipe the egg was the star. Of course we have the usual scrambled eggs and omelettes, but the author does have some unique pairings, such as goat cheese, to liven up these standard recipes. The best part for me during this section that some may find boring because its recipes they have heard before I actually enjoyed. I learned some new ways of cooking eggs that others may already know (Cream-Fried Eggs).
This cookbook doesn't just cover breakfast. It goes into dinner, cocktails, and desserts. The cocktail section was my favorite of the three. I am determined to try to make a Sunny-Sideup Sidecar, a delicious orange juice concentrate drink with foamy egg whites on top. But the section I think will be the star of this cookbook is the Sauce section. It has the most versatility for your eggs with the potential to use them everyday. From the simple Mayonnaise recipe to the more challenging Caesar dressing recipe they are recipes bound to be used often. the book also ends beautifully with a section deemed Egg Yolks Only and Egg Whites Only. I've hated having to throw out egg whites in the past when my recipe calls for only the yolks. It seemed like such a waste and I didn't know any other use for it than making a meringue. Luckily, these sections cover more recipes you can use that only use one part of the egg and the freezing instructions to preserve the egg parts for later. I've never thought about freezing my egg whites before, but I'm certain to do it now. This is a cookbook that deserves a space on your shelf.

I got this book as an eARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

So many tasty recipes! I'm not going to lie, I picked this up mainly for the pastry and dessert recipes. I can't wait to try some of the beauties!

I admit to seriously having an obsession with fresh chicken eggs and really just eggs in general. My sister has acquired her own brood about maybe 4 years ago, and I am seriously jealous. If I had the space and lacked the HOA restrictions, and maybe had the mental fortitude or whatever, might also do the same.

The Fresh Eggs Daily Cookbook includes a mini bio on Lisa and how she became a chicken egg connoisseur. She lays out some egg basics, storage tips, how to start your egg cooking basics and then launches into a pretty extensive and seriously drool-worthy set of recipes that I am super excited to make. There is a huge section for pastries/desserts/sweets in general that I am just here for.

I could always use more pictures, because I am totally easily visually influenced (especially my stomach). The pictures were provided for about 1/2 to 1/3 of the recipes but were beautifull done.

I would definitely recommend this cookbook for anyone looking to up their egg cooking game!

Having my own hens who at times go into overproduction and we sit with heaps of eggs, I was really excited to get into this book. And I was not disappointed at all. Heaps of recipes plus awesome photos. All the other information regarding eggs was really useful - like storage after washing and weights etc.
A book all folk with their own hens should get.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for allowing me to read this book.

This cookbook is not only filled with delicious ways to use up eggs, but is also filled with handy advice about cooking eggs in general. The author’s passion and experience with chickens and eggs make this book even more enjoyable and useful. I found myself thinking of all the different things I could make with eggs that I didn’t before. I really enjoyed testing the tiramisu recipe and the ricotta scrambled eggs. My family enjoyed both recipes and were very happy with the results. I would highly recommend this cookbook to anyone.

As someone who doesn't eat meat, eggs are major source of protein for me, and I'm always interested in learning new recipes that make them the star. I also adore narrative cookbooks, and Lisa Steele's storytelling is delightful. Her knowledge of all things eggs and love for chickens really shines through - and makes me want to raise my own to have the same access to Fresh Eggs Daily.

When a cookbook teaches something beyond the basics of a recipe, it's a winner, and I learned a lot here - not the least of which is how to recognize when store-bought eggs were packaged. I only buy organic pasture-raised eggs because of the cruelty of factory farming, and Steele's desire to educate readers around this issue was both refreshing and appreciated. Her instruction on basic egg-cooking techniques is thorough and her hints about things like the use of butter vs. oil and salt are helpful.

The photos in this book are beautiful, and the recipes are varied and innovative yet simple. Some favorites here are Chimichurri Scrambled Eggs (hello, champagne vinegar!), Cheesy Baked Cream Eggs, Fluffy Vanilla Pancakes, Caprese Quiche, Baked Eggs Marinara, Lemon Curd, Chocolate Pots de Creme, and the entire chapter on Condiments, Sauces, Fillings & Toppings.

I received a digital pre-publication copy of this book in exchange for an honest review, and I'll be including it in an upcoming book blog post on upcoming releases for foodies. I will also be adding a hardcover edition to my permanent collection when it publishes in February. This one's a keeper!

I am always on the lookout for new cooking ideas, especially meatless options. I saw the FRESH EGGS DAILY COOKBOOK on NetGalley and immediately requested it. Thank you NetGalley and Harper Horizon books for the advance e-ARC. This book releases on February 15, 2022.

THOUGHTS: I loved this! I was not familiar with the author and her blog, but I am totally intrigued now. I already want chickens and this book made me want them even more. She gives so many great ideas on raising chickens along with the recipes. There are some recipes I want to try right away, like RICOTTA SCRAMBLED EGGS and FIG FRENCH TOAST SANDWICH. She has ideas for all times of day, and includes cocktails and desserts. When this publishes, I will be gifting a copy to a good friend who does have chickens.

As someone who raises their own laying hens, I needed ideas for all these eggs (I can only handle so many scrambled, over easy, and deviled eggs in my life, ok?). This book is the trick and I am excited to eggs-periment...I'm not sorry.
The most unique offerings in this book kind of blew my mind - salt cured eggs? lemon fried eggs? egg salad made with butter instead of mayo? And even boozy recipes like a sunny side up side car? Wow
Highly recommend for any homesteaders who need ideas. Much appreciated!

As a hobby cook. I'm always intrigued by other cooks and certain foods. The versatility of eggs is something I enjoyed trying. The Fresh Eggs Daily had some great information about eggs I didn't know and the different ways to cook them. If you're a person who lives for brunch every Sunday, this will offer up some new ideas and extra knowledge about eggs that you may not know. I'm not one for runny or poached eggs but have the poached a try in different timing for the cooking and it was a success for my family that enjoyed them.

Beautiful looking and a pleasure to read. Anything and everything you wanted to know about eggs. Food blogger Lisa Steele knows her way around the chicken coop and the kitchen. Her recipes have easy to follow instructions and the stories that go along with them will keep you entertained. I failed to find that new and unusual egg recipe but I did find recipes for any occasion. Only disappointed to find no metic conversions in this release which I felt was a bit shortsighted. Highly recommend.

I rather enjoyed The Fresh Eggs Daily Cookbook. Although I typically just skim the narrative part(s) of cookbooks, I found Lisa Steele's backstory to be charming and interesting. While I may have no interest in raising my own chickens, it was nice to hear Steele's changing relationship with chickens over the course of her life. The photographs are lovely as well, though there. could've been a few more of them in the recipes. .

The recipes offered are quite nice and I really like the secondary index in the back which groups the recipes by the number of eggs needed - this is more helpful than I could've imagined! There are, of course, some of the more standard egg recipes, but there are definitely some unique recipes contained within. I'm rather intrigued by the grilled eggs, the egg hand pie, and using cream to fry eggs.

A wonderful book to give any chicken owner or egg lover. It's well written, very biographical and interesting to read, as well as having great recipes. I've already made the egg lemon soup (avgolemono) - wonderful on a cold winter day. Everyone in the family loved it, it's so unique with a rich creaminess that comes from the eggs while needing no cream or dairy products at all, while also having a nice zing from the lemon juice. I've also already made the cream fried eggs (so delicious and easy!) and can't wait to try the ricotta gnocchi and toad-in-the-hole. Directions are simple and clear, great from beginniners to advanced levels. Look forward to getting a hardcopy in February!

I actually learnt a thing or two from this book. It’s full of great information about eggs I’d never even thought of. The recipes are amazing. Scrambled eggs with dill is one of my favourite. Thanks

Really hard to read as an ebook, not my preferred method of reading for cookbooks. However, I think the recipes are well done and the writing was enjoyable. As someone who cooks a lot most of these weren't surprising recipes but would make a great gift to a more amateur chef.

Who doesn't like eggs? The hard-boiled ones we had when we were young? I had them from times to times, and I like it. But how does one get a good one? This is the book. Explained on how the farm hens eggs are the best ones, how to keep them, also how to weigh them, what to do if you have surplus of eggs. Some facts are well known (like salmonella, for example), but most are new to me.

This is a great cookbook if you're seeking breakfast, snacks, and baking recipes, and who doesn't want more of those? There's a chapter on the different types of eggs and one of the different cooking methods (fried, scrambled, poached, etc..) Then, it's all recipes and some gorgeous photos. The breakfast chapter is really strong with scrambles, eggs benedict, omelettes, and more. A brunch chapter has all the pancakes and muffins, and sandwiches. There's also homemade pasta recipes and savory dinner tarts. This book finishes strong with baked treats like cakes and cream pies. Definitely a keeper if you love making brunches and baking cakes, pies, and other treats!!

Thanks to Net Galley for the ARC.

Fresh eggs daily is a social blog but generally outlines good egg behaviors with some fun recipes to help you utilize all those eggs. This was a fun read with some very nice recipes.

What did I like? A wealth of information about chickens and eggs from a respected guru. I’ve read most of the authors backyard chicken books and am always amazed at how great her chickens look. Fantastic photographs, fun facts about chickens, and some great looking recipes. I can’t wait to retire and look after my own mini coop.

Would I recommend or buy? I would LOVE a copy of this book! I’m also following author on her Facebook page and sad I just missed her 12 days of giveaways. She knowledgeable and knows her chickens! Five stars!

I received a complimentary e-copy to look over and voluntarily left a review!

This book made me hungry! Like the author, I LOVE eggs! Also like the author, eggs are my default dinner when I don’t have a plan, nothing more simple or satisfying than scrambled eggs and toast or a fried egg sandwich with melts cheese. And I always have a bowl of hard boiled eggs in the fridge for a quick snack. This cookbook starts out with the author explaining most of what she’s learned raising her own chickens. She explains how to identify fresh and old eggs, how to store them, and I never knew that eggs should be stored pointy end down to keep the yolk centered in the white, great tip! The recipes are plentiful, delicious and original including elevating scrambled eggs with ricotta, scrambled egg hand pies, cardamom loaf cake, maple chai cream puffs, brown butter vanilla cream pudding and so much more, yum! I highly recommend this cookbook to anyone who loves eggs!

Thank you Netgalley, Harper Horizon and the author for this eARC in exchange for my honest review.

It's an ok cookbook. I am not sure what I expected but the recipes are either: a simple egg with a variation of sides or recipes that contain eggs but you wouldn't think of them as egg recipes.
That said, some of the recipes are lovely though I wish there were more pictures to illustrate the recipes - and inspire you to start cooking.
Overall, I didn't try that many recipes because too many were just variations of each other.
