As the saying goes, Sharon Sala “Saved the best for last!”
The Best of Me had me crying from the the very beginning and I don’t think I stopped until I was finished. I have never went through so many tissues while reading a book!
When the story begins, Carlie and her mother have just arrived in Blessings. They make it as far as the police station before Carlie’s mama takes her last breath. *grab your tissues* Carlie’s mom knew she was dying and has given guardianship to Ruby and Peanut Butterman. If you’ve read the series, you’ll know Ruby from every book in the series, including her own when she was granted her HEA in The Color of Love. Ruby and Peanut never thought they’d have a child, but with Carlie coming into their lives, they will finally get the joy of having a child to love and care for.
We also have a wonderful Second Chance Romance between Deborah and Ladd. They were teenage sweethearts, but when Ladd went off to College, he decided not to return. Deborah broken hearted also left and didn't return until her mother needed her. Now, they have been reunited and neither one wants to let this chance pass them by.
Melvin Lee stole each scene he was in. That kid!
The Blessings, Georgia series is by far one of my favorite series of books. Each time a new story comes out, it feels like coming home after being gone on vacation. I’m sad that this will be the last book in the series, but excited to see what the author will give us next.
If you haven't read this series, I highly recommend that you do. You will not be disappointed.

What a great ending to the Blessings, GA series by Sharon Sala. Long ago, Ruby had a young girl working in her beauty shop. When her family moved away, Ruby had no idea of the profound impact she made on Shirley.
Flash ahead many years and Shirley and Carlie, her daughter arrive in Blessings GA on a Greyhound bus. Shirley is I'll and dying so the trip was planned to introduce Carlie to her new guardian. Ruby had no idea she was made the guardian of Shirley's child. You will cheer, laugh and cry right along with Ruby and Peanut as they navigate the trials of parenthood.
Parallel story is a second chance love story between neighbors, Ladd and Deborah. Separated after high school, now a Vet and an architect both of whom return home to stay with aging parents. Theirs is a live story through the ages, and a second chance to get it right after a series of disasters.
All in all a great ending to the series.
I received a Free ARC eBook from Net Galley and the publisher in exchange for my honest opinions.

The Best of Me by Sharon Sala is such a wonderful series I can see why it is called Blessings. Blessings is such an amazing town filled with wonderful people. Is the type of town that people want to return to and start their families. Will be hard to give up this beautiful family of people. So sad it is the last story in the series.

I absolutely loved this book! I fell in love with the characters and the storyline was sweet and compelling. I’m looking forward to adding a physical copy to my collection soon!

Reading this book was just what I needed today. Reading this series has been a blessing. I’ve enjoyed each visit immensely. The send off book was perfection. I loved the three story lines. Deb was Wonder Woman. Carli needed a family and The Buttermans fit the bill.
The scenes I loved the best and sent me into paroxysm of laughter were the ones that occurred in the elementary school. I wanted to grab adorable Mervin Lee and squeeze him. Where was he when I was a kid?
Sometimes it’s necessary to read wholesome stories where doing the right thing wins the day.
“I don’t take no guff” is my new mantra.

Blessings, Georgia is where I'd love to live! Ruby and Peanut are two of my favorite people and everyone needs a Melvin Lee in their lives. This book is like coming home to old friends….starting from page one I couldn’t stop reading till I found out how it would end!

There is something so comforting in returning to Sharon Sala’s fictional town of Blessings, Georgia where neighbors drop everything to help each other and breakfast starts with scrumptious homemade biscuits. I’ve really enjoyed the series and the only thing I regret about this book is that the author states that it is her last novel about Blessings.
In this story, we see life through the eyes of a little girl whose mother dies right in front of her after having traveled from Arkansas to Georgia to deliver her daughter to the nicest woman she ever knew, Ruby Dye, owner of the Curl and Dye hair salon. Ruby and her wonderful husband Peanut Butterman open their hearts and home right away to the sad little girl. You’ll tear up through the first part of the book as poor Carlie who is wise beyond her years learns about her new home and family and comes to love them just as they love her. As always, the main tale is surrounded by a couple of other plotlines and interesting characters. The good people find happy endings and everyone gets to eat tasty, comfort meals of fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and biscuits with ice cream for dessert.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.

I loved reading this sweet romance story. This is not my first book this author but it is my favorite. She is an author that I never hesitate to pick up as I know what kind of ride I am in for. This is a well written story about second chances. A second chance at having a family, love and at life. The characters Ruby, Peanut and Carlie are great and made the story easy to read. They are connectable and pulled me into the story from the start. I also enjoyed how supportive they were to each other. They are my favorite of the story for sure. I enjoyed the growth of the plot as well as the characters had me coming back for more. This is a well rounded story that is hard to put down. It pulled at my heart strings in place. I really enjoyed reading this book and I highly recommend it.

I cried from beginning to the end of this book. It is a very sad, heart warming book throughout. It took me a little longer to read because of that. I did enjoy reading, The Best of Me.

I have some memory issues and it's not often that I can open the next book in a series and remember almost all of the characters from previous books, but the Blessings, Georgia people stayed with me. That's a testament to how good this series is.
The Best of Me was jam packed with emotions. There are also lots of triggers to go along with those emotions: death, bullying, adoption, severe allergic reaction, car wrecks and physical attacks. One of the main storylines is that of a young girl who watches her mother die in front of her. The other main storyline, however, is a second chance story that is pretty happy from the get-go. The book really takes you on an up and down journey, but of course the ups win out!
This book has to include my very favorite character name of all time--Peanut Butterman. How awesome is that! This book is the last of the series (I'm so sad to see it go). I'm just hoping Sharon Sala's next series is as good!
I waf gifted a copy of this book by Sourcebooks Casablanca and NetGalley. All thoughts are my own.

Loved this book so much. I am sad to see that it is the last book in the Blessings series. Sharon Sala never fails to disappoint in delivering a wonderful story from the heart. This story will tug at your heartstrings as sweet little Carlie faces so much heartache and pain for an eight year old, but things have a way of working themselves out. So happy for little Carlie, Miss Ruby, and "Mr. Ruby" at the end of the story.
Deborah and Ladd's second chance love story was a surprise to me. I wasn't expecting another story line, but I so enjoyed it with Deborah always being the Hero! Go Deborah!! Both stories in this book giving meaning to "life is short" and love the ones you are blessed with while they are still here.
I have only read two books from the "Blessings" series, but plan to start from the beginning and read them all the way through.

So sad this is the last in the series set in Blessings. Each story is different but all are filled with wonderful characters and heartwarming moments. Thank you Sharon Sala for Blessings and all the people in it.

Honestly, this is the first book that I have read in the Blessings series, which I NOW realize is a 30 book series. However, I absolutely loved it. It takes a very talented author to create a stand-alone book in a THIRTY BOOK SERIES. Let that sink in for a moment. This was just the cutest breath of fresh air of a book and I adored it. We follow about three separate feel-good story arcs. one of a found family, one of romance, and one of broken hearts. The three stories are interwoven in such a way that the whole book moves along swiftly and I found myself just wrapped up in Blessing, Georgia. I am now seriously contemplating reading the other 29 books in the series. This was perfection. If you liked Virgin River, then you will similarly adore this series. Pick it up now, especially if you love Robyn Carr.

This book is beautiful! I am so thankful to #netgalley for the ARC. This is a story of an orphaned girl searching for family, a couple who are happy to open their heart and home to create a family and a community of friends ready to rally around them all. This is a perfect book to read under the Spring/Summer sun and I hope so many others pick this gem of a book up as well!

Have a box of tissues nearby because you’ll need them right off the bat! This is a beautiful story about Carlie, an orphaned little girl wanting desperately to have a family of her own while starting her young life over in a new town. She worries about being given away and not having friends. She shouldn’t worry, though, because she’s landed in the small town of Blessings, GA, where Ruby and Peanut Butterman have become her legal guardians and where people help one another. They welcome her with open arms. A story about loss, grief, healing, new friendships, new beginnings, second chances, and more.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Thank you to Katie Stutz at Sourcebooks, the publisher Sourcebooks, and the author Sharon Sala for sending me this book to read and review.
TW+CW: car accident (causes human and animal injury,) injury due to an animal, multiple deaths of parents, children bullying, child allergic reaction,
THE BEST OF ME by SHARON SALA is the final installment to the BLESSINGS, GEORGIA series following Carlie that has arrived in Blessings with her sick mother. All she knows is exactly what her mother told her: they are here to find Ruby to be Carlie's guardian when her mother dies. The news is a shock to everyone especially Ruby who was not expecting this. She went from living a happy life with her husband, Peanut, running the only salon in town to suddenly, having a child to take care of... which is something she'd never thought she'd be able to do due to her pregnancy issues. Throughout the story, you're following Carlie as she's learning to grieve her mother as well as adjusting to this new potential family and town. You're also following Ruby and Peanut as they grow to love Carlie, learn how to be parents, and make room for one more in their household.
This book was a beautiful ending to the series. It felt like a lot in Blessings was finished and everyone (that I can think of) are in a place of happiness, got something they wanted. All of the elements of Blessings were included: the drama and gossip, people volunteering to help, love, a tragic event or two, and southern-charm. I do feel that the description of this book is a little misleading due to the story not entirely following Carlie coming under Ruby and Peanut Butterman's care. This book does follow other character's storylines. However, if you're familiar with this series or other books from Sharon Sala, then this may not be news to you. Of all the storylines, I enjoyed reading about Ladd and Deborah's reconnection more than Carlie's story and would have preferred that they were separate books.
I am rating this 3.75 stars because it is not my favorite of the series and I found myself more interested in the side storylines than the main one.

You'll enjoy meeting the folks of Blessing. A little girl wins everyone's heart. Then there's a couple that reunite. You'll enjoy seeing how everything works out.

I hadn't read any of the previous ones in this series (I did not know it was a part of a series while requesting)
Oh my I can't stop crying....
Maybe someday I will be fine to write a detailed review. For now I would just say this was an awesome read and am super happy for Carlie and Mr & Miss Ruby 😁

It takes a village, doesn't it? Carlie, who is almost 8 years old, has had the weight of the world on her shoulders and how her mom has died just as they arrive in Blessings. Ruby, who was designated as Carlie's guardian, and her husband Peanut, have always wanted a child and they pull Carlie into loving arms. But it's not always easy especially for a little girl who lost her mom. Luckily, Ruby and Peanut make her a home. Oh,, and fans of the series which is sadly ending, will be pleased with the second chance romance between Deborah and Ladd. Sala has a nice storytelling style which works perfectly with this small town tale. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. A good read.

Thanks Netgalley for allowing me to read this book. This book is the last in the blessings series and did not disappoint. Ruby and her husband go to the police station where they meet a young girl who has paperwork appointing Ruby as her guardian. I enjoyed getting to know the people of blessings and once I started reading this book I could not put it down.
