Welcome back to Blessings Georgia. Conceived and embellished by the one and only Sharon Sala. THE BEST OF ME is the final book in the Blessings series which quickly became a favorite to me and many other readers. This series has captured the mind and heart of many people. Sharon Sala fans probably have favorite characters from Blessings. I know I do. In fact all I have to read is the name Peanut Butterman and I am smiling, truly ready for a joyous reading experience. And THE BEST OF ME is a truly fabulous addition to a heartwarming series of tales about a place that is too good to imagine. And yet this prolific author created this place that has entertained us for so many years.

Peanut and his wife Ruby’s life is going to undergo a totally unexpected but truly welcome change. One they absolutely never saw happening. They married late in life after spending so many years ignoring the attraction between them. Fans watched their union finally take place and joined in the celebration.

THE BEST OF ME centers around an eight year old girls arrival in Blessings with her very ill mother. This poor women barely made it to her necessary destination to hand her daughter to the woman she trusted with her most loved and valuable item, Carlie. The town takes on the job of assuring that her wishes are met. Lots of tears to go around as you realize how this little girls life has just been shattered. You might think, beyond repair. But you haven’t met Ruby and Peanut Butterman and the wondrous folks of Blessings. If this is your introduction to Blessings you just may want to read the series and catch up.

THE BEST IF ME includes another tale of folks getting a second chance. This time it’s about Ladd and Deborah. Each had left Blessings to follow careers. Each returned to take care of family responsibilities. Each trying to decide if they are meant to stay in their hometown. And most importantly, if there is a future for them.

And of course there is an amazing supporting cast, my favorite Melvin Lee. You can’t help but be captivated by this endearing young man and his devotion to his grandma, mother and siblings. When Melvin Lee decides he loves you, you are well loved and protected. A joy and another wondrous character created by Sharon Sala that will stay in your memories for a long time. As has her Peanut Butterman.

Sharon Sala creates flawed unique folk with her pen and paper. Each story in this series of thirteen books is filled with love and humor country style. I have had the joy and honor to read them all and review several. THE BEST OF ME just may be the best of the bunch and is a terrific conclusion to this series.

The Best of Me is Peanut and Ruby Butterman’s story. This is the last book of this series. This book can be read as a stand alone but do yourself a favor and read the other stories. I will miss the characters from Blessings, Georgia. Ruby and Peanut are made guardians of Carlie Duroy. Her mother used to work for Ruby. There are also a few side other storylines. Thank you Sharon Sala for this wonderful series. Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks for the E-ARC.

Sharon Sala has published well over 100 books, but this was my first experience with her fiction. The Best of Me is also the last in a series of stories set in the fictional small town of Blessings, Georgia, but it works fine as a stand-alone for similarly uninitiated readers. There is an enthusiastic blurb from Debbie Macomber at the top of Ms. Sala's website, and I heartily concur that readers who love Debbie Macomber, Robyn Carr, and similar authors will feel right at home in Ms. Sala's books. This volume weaves the subplots of several different characters together sweetly and seamlessly: a little girl orphaned and left with a couple she barely knows, and a young woman brought back to town by her father's illness forced to confront the man who stole her heart when they were young, among others. Blessings, Georgia is not a utopia; there is crime, illness, death, and plenty of petty jealousy, but somehow a little common sense and a refreshing glass of lemonade provide the counterbalance to life's hardships. Readers looking for their own counterbalance to life's ugliness will find peaceful respite in The Best of Me.

Whew - this story was heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. Carlie and her mother arrive in Blessings, Ga hopefully to talk to Ruby and Peanut about being Carllie's guardians. Before that happens, Carlies mother dies. It was sooooo sad. Lon (the Police chief) calls Peanut and tells him to get Ruby and come down to the station asap. It is a huge adjustment for all three of them, but Ruby has so much love to give and Peanut falls in love with the little girl right away. They form a bond that will not be broken. Carlie meets Melvin Lee at the playground and he immediately adopts her as his best friend. it's sort of comical how protective of her he is. When a girl in her class bullies her, she handles it just find and Ruby and Peanut are proud of her.
This story had alot of life lessons in it. Some were happy, some were sad.
Ther other story in the book were about Ladd and Deborah. They had been sweethearts but time and distance drew them apart. When a bull stomps all over Ladd, Deborah saves him and they realize they were meant for each other.

I got this book from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review

Sharon Sale is a master storyteller. I felt tears welling in my eyes from almost the start of the first chapter, tears of sadness, grief, separation, love, and hope. A mother's love. A daughter's love for her mother. No matter what the age, no one gets over losing their mother. Just as we were once part of her, she is a part of our heart. Fortunately for the now orphaned Carlie, her mother's chosen caretakers for her, Ruby and Peanut, have huge hearts.

The focus of the story is how they learn, with the help of not just Carlie but the community of Blessings, to be worthy of the trust of Carlie's mother. Yes, there are bumps along the way but, well, if I could choose an imaginary town to live in, it would be Blessings. Life may have its ups and downs, as evidenced by another couple coming back together and learning to trust and love each other again, and more. I won't detail the story. You can find a synopsis easily. Instead, I'll just say that while you may shed a few tears reading "The Blessings,Georgia, series, I treasure the time my mind has spend there.

Thank you #SharonSala, #NetGalley and #SourcebooksCasablanca for the chance to make this one, last trip to Blessings. It was a heartfelt visit.

Blessings, Georgia. If you are a Sharon Sala fan, no more needs to be said. This is the final book of the Blessings series, which makes my heart sad. As the series has added more and more stories, the people of Blessings have become family. Sharon Sala does not disappoint in this final book and gives you everything you've come to expect from a visit to Blessings. You'll sigh, you'll cry, and you'll laugh, sometimes at the same time. No matter what, you are promised another heartwarming, heart breaking, and heartfelt story that you can immerse yourself in and come away looking to make your next getaway to Blessings, if only Ms. Sala would be so kind as to put it on a Rand McNally map! Ms. Sala is truly able to say this is The Best of Me with this one!

Over the past several years, I have read all of the Blessings, Georgia books by Sharon Sala and enjoyed them tremendously. They are a great escape, contain likeable characters making the best of bad situations and coming out stronger after the strife. I have loved the characters and fallen in love with the town. This is the 13th (and final) book in the series, and it is a fitting farewell.

Ruby and Peanut Butterman are not able to have children of their own, but become guardians of a little girl who has lost her mother way too early. Ladd and Deborah grew up as neighbors on adjacent farms, fell in love as teenagers, and fell out of touch after going on to college. Both of them are back to wrap up family affairs, and are thrust together when Deborah rushes him to the hospital after an accident.

This book (and the series) are a true pleasure to read, and this final tale in Blessings is a nice way to wrap it all up. You don’t need to have read the other stories in this series, but to truly appreciate this one, I suggest starting at the beginning and reading them all!

I received a copy of this book through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I would like to thank NetGalley and SourceBooks for allowing me to review this book. This book is bittersweet for me. I found this series and became instantly obsessed. I read the first few out of order and then quickly absorbed the series. Last year, in a post on Sharon's facebook page, she said she had just turned in her last Blessings book and I won't lie.. I teared up. This series is beyond amazing. This book features Ruby. Ruby deserved a second book as she frequently is the center of everything in town. A former employee of Ruby's Shirley came back to Blessings with her daughter Carli. Shirley barely makes it into the police station and passes away. She gives custody of her daughter to Ruby. Ruby, who could never have children on her own, is shocked, as is Peanut (the cutest thing is Carli's nickname for Peanut!) This book shows how Ruby, Peanut, and Carli settle into life and the struggles that they face. There is a second story in the book which in true Blessings nature is an easy fall back in love story. I am sad this is my last book and hope one day we can get another!

Sharon Sala piqued my curiosity with the fabulous cover art and then took me to Blessings, Georgia, a small town where an orphaned 8 year old little girl needs a new home. It’s here that I met the Buttermans, a couple unable to have a family of their own, yet, despite the sudden change in their couple status, are really looking forward to her arrival. When Carlie arrives, she has difficulty settling in partly because everything and everyone is new but mainly because of the stress she’s endured at such a young age. Despite their excitement, the Buttermans, chosen guardians, are ill prepared for parenting. It takes Carlie being bullied at school for the family to unite and help each other. Blessings is the perfect place for community support.

The secondary timeline follows Ladd and Deborah as they reconnect and are offered the opportunity of a second chance. Ladd knows Deborah from his past, has already put his life in Deborah’s hands, but can he put his heart there, too?

A closed door, charming romance, set in a sweet small Southern town with delightful, authentic characters, this is definitely one you’ll want to put on your reading list.

Three things you might want to know before diving in: 1) Be prepared, this one deals with the loss of a parent. 2) Sharon Sala knows how to write to our emotions and this one is a tear jerker. Have tissues handy. 3) It’s book 13 and the final book in the Blessings, Georgia series. I enjoyed it as a standalone.

I was gifted this advance copy by Sharon Sala, Sourcebooks Casablanca, and NetGalley and was under no obligation to provide a review.

Enjoyed this quick lighthearted read. A few story lines about various Blessing residents. I just wish the few story lines connected and interacted with each other. Blessings seems like a wonderful place to live! Looking forward to Sharon’s next book set in blessings.

This was a bittersweet book for me. I love the town Blessings, Georgia and all it's inhabitants. I am sorry to see this series coming to an end, but Ms. Sala left us in a good place.
Ruby and Peanut Butterman have always been a fixture of this series and I am excited they received their dream of becoming a family with the adoption of orphan Carlie.
Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for a copy of this book for review.

Sharon Sala's characters are written so well that the reader is drawn into the story immediately. This is the latest book in the Blessings, Georgia series and it focuses primarily on two major story lines. The first is one in which an orphan girl finds the perfect parents in childless couple Ruby and Peanut Butterman. In the second story line, high school lovers, Ladd and Deborah are reconnecting after years apart. Their second chance at love story begins with Ladd being trampled by a bull. Luckily, Deborah was nearby and ended up saving his life. I really enjoyed this story and highly recommend it.

When I started this book, I was not aware that it was part of a series. It can be read as a stand alone, as I did, but I recommend reading the other books first.
The characters in The Best of Me came to life for me! I really enjoyed this book. I love the sweetness of it all. Blessings is a town I would love to live in.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for and ARC of this book. All opinions are my own.

This is the last book in the Blessings series. It basically has 2 story lines, Carlie and her new family and a couple who reunite after years apart. It is a sweet story but it was a bit slow moving. Lots of interesting characters in the town of Blessings. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.
