Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing this book in exchange for an honest review.
Sexual abuse is unfortunately a pretty common thing but to have your whole family turn their backs to you when you speak up about the abuse is incredibly sad. Chantel blames herself for not protecting her younger brother but she was just a child herself with a child of her own to worry about. Being let down by her parents and child protective services is so frustrating and devastating to me.
The writing did get repetitious in areas and probably could've used some editing to flow better but I really it was a decent book. It definitely shows how the victims are changed by the abuse but often the perpetrator doesn't get punished.
