The Becoming is a wonderful addition to the series! The story is magical and the world building is immersive! My favorite part? Is most definitely the audio! The Irish dialects was luscious music to my ears since the story takes place in Ireland. Nora Roberts has always been able to transport me to another place and time, and this time it was Talamh where you will find magic, fey, romance, and evil trying to rule the world!
I will be waiting patiently for The Choice! Patiently...waiting...
Thank you to St. Martin's Press and Netgalley for the ALC in exchange for an honest review!
This audiobook was AMAZING! I love that I don't have to google pronunciations as I read the paper version. I love love love this series and the narrator is excellent.
I loved this book ! I had already read book 1 this summer snd this book starts off exactly where book 1 left off. Keegan brings Breena in through the portal and Marco her best friend follows. It opens back into Ireland.
In this book you get more in-depth about the characters and who really is good and who has an evil heart. The relationship between breena and Keegan is a slow burn as they find themselves with each other more and more. Breena is developing her magic and it’s growing with her. There are losses and happiness and everything comes with a price.
Marco finds loves as well and two friends make a commitment of love. What you never thought could be is reality comes true and betrayal strikes with a thirst for vengeance.
Wow. I was surprised and pleased with how much I loved this book. I was unaware it was the second of a trilogy. I did not feel left behind as I hadn’t read the first (which I am about to remedy). The descriptions were so vivid I was able to see them. The characters were full of dimension. Highly recommend.
The Becoming is the second book in Nora Roberts' Dragon Heart Legacy and it does not disappoint! The story line is great, but not so much a mystery ,as I had thought , but more paranormal women's fiction. It is a great escape into a well written magical world with wonderful characters, humor, family, romance and sweet moments--- who would NOT want to ride a dragon?! I loved the audiobook -- it brought the story line to life in a big way. Though I have not read the first book in this trilogy, I found it easy to follow the plot. Nora Roberts has always been my go-to when I want a good solid read. If you enjoy fantasy reads, do not miss this!
The narrator, Barrie Kreinik, is perfect for this fantasy/paranormal---she voices the characters with varying accents and cadences so that it is easy to identify each one.
Thank you to #NetGalley #TheBecoming and #MacmillanAudio #StMartin'sPress for the audio ARC , which I requested. It was a pleasure to listen to in exchange for an honest review.
The Becoming by Nora Roberts
The character building was exceptional; the world building was exceptional; great follow on to the first novel “The Awakening”. I really liked that the secondary characters, especially Marco, were given good supporting, fleshed out stories. The story catches your attention from beginning to end and definitely leaves you wanting more. I’m on pins and needles waiting for the third installment. Ms. Roberts has yet to disappoint.
The prologue did an excellent job reminding readers of the story of The Awakening without giving away too much of the details. That means The Becoming can be read alone, but I highly recommend the series be read in order to fully understand and appreciate the fantasy world.
The Becoming picks up exactly where The Awakening ended. Without giving spoilers for the first story, I will say that this story continues on beautifully. There is adventure and magic, but there is equally an exploration of family, loyalty, and love. I adore all of Breen's friends and family, as she comes into her own. And there's a complete story arc of intrigue that adds to the overall narrative of the trilogy. I am so excited for the final story.
I loved listening to the audiobook. It helped me to not be distracted by trying to correctly pronounce the words of the Talamh. The narrator, Barrie Kreinik, is amazing. She matched her tone and pacing to the emotion of the story so well. And she did a wide variety of clearly distinguishable voices.
Thank you to Macmillan Audio and NetGalley for the advanced copy of the book. These opinions are my own.

I can’t think of enough words to describe this action packed fantasy series. Yes you must read or listen in order. Nora has woven real life with another world filled with witches, faeries, werewolves and other magical being. Breen discovers she has blood of all thru her deceased father. Finds her grandmother is a good witch and her grandfather a evil god that wants her blood to gather more power. The training continues as Breen discovers what is in her and explores her new world with her BFF Marco. Love the character Marco, he great and with give you a few good laughs. The battle has begun to escalate, evil demons and being are slipping thru the portals. The good are in search of the breaches and with magic sealing the breaches, but will they find them all?
The only bad thing I can say is that I hate having to wait for the next book. Write fast Nora!
Thank you NetGalley for this ARC. I am voluntarily posting an honest review after reading an Advance Reader Copy of this story. #NetGalley #TheBecoming #NoraRoberts
I really enjoyed the first book in this series so I was really excited that I was given the chance to review an early edition audiobook from NetGalley.
First of all, can I get my own Marco? What an amazing friend to have. Secondly, can I get a man like Brian? So romantic and straightforward in their relationship. They both make me so happy.
In this book, there’s very little activity in our modern world, which I didn’t mind. What I enjoyed most is the friendship of Breen and Marco and how they learn to adapt to their new world. The whole book revolves around Breen coming into her powers and continuing her training. She eventually makes her way to the capital and faces a bitter love rival and this is where the action really starts… about the last 3rd of the book. The overall plot moves slowly until this part and is a great set up for book # 3, which I’m predicting where ALL the action will be.
I cried a bit towards the end with what happened to one of the side characters. A love so forgiving (and still betrayed) my inner heart just didn’t know how to handle that.
I had the opportunity to listen to the audio version of this second book of “The Dragon Heart Legacy” series that begins where the first book, The Awakening (2020), left off, with Breen and her best friend, Marco, jumping through a portal from Philadelphia back to the magical world of Talamh. We get a lot more character development, more of the magical world of Talamh, dragons, a great dog and lots of family and a few battles along the way.
I truly enjoyed the beautiful world Nora Roberts built with all the wonderful characters that are easy to love. It was definitely an emotional ride throughout the whole book. The romance between Breen and Keegan is slow burning, angsty and wonderful. This book is full of love, magic, and adventure and I highly recommend if your looking for a relaxing read to escape.
I am not usually a fan of fantasy, but I am loving this series. It's the right mix of the realistic with the fantasy. It has a bit of romance, and a badass heroine that you want to root for. This is worth a read, for sure. I will be recommending this to anyone I know who loves romance, fantasy and action,
After reading The Awakening, I must say that I was more disappointed in this installment. At times, it felt cheesy and was a bit awkward to read. The storyline was good, but for me, this book wasn't as good as the first.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced readers copy in exchange for an honest review.

The Becoming is the second book in The Dragon Heart Legacy series. Breen is coming into her powers and learning more about the land of Talamh.
While the narration for the audiobook was excellent, the book barely kept my attention.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 I just finished the audiobooks The Awakening and The Becoming by Nora Roberts. If you love Ireland, magic and Outlander, these books are for you! Great characters, exploration of relationships and of course romance and action! (I received a preview audiobook of The Becoming through NetGalley.)
The Becoming was a fantastic sequel to The Awakening. The only problem is that we now have to wait until next year to finish the story of Breen, Marco, Keegan, and the rest of the Fae. Nora Roberts continues to create a magical world full of intrigue and action. I sunk into the story and didn't want to have to put the book down, The narrator of the audiobook performs phenomenally. She has the perfect accent and portrays all of the emotions needed.
I have to say I really loved this book! It was filled with friendship, love, family, magic and dragons all set in a realistic and beautiful fantasy world. I did not read the first installment but I vhave to say I am so glad Nora Roberts has delved into fantasy. She writes it brilliantly.
I could hardly stop listening to this book and I will definitely continue the series.
Friendship, love, family, fairies, witches, Ireland, and dragons all living in a fantasy world created by Nora Roberts, need I say more? I may be a little bias, ( I really love Nora Roberts books) but I found this book very hard to put down. The only bad thing I can say is, after reading the first and second book in this series in less than 2 weeks, I am very sad I will have to wait to get my hands on the third book.
Thank you so much NetGalley and MacMillian Audio for the audioARC. #Netgalley #NoraRoberts #MacMillianAudio #TheBecoming
It had its moments, but in general it suffered from a middle book in a series. I think there was a ton of lull in this book. Lot of thing going on but nothing that really moved the story except the final chapters. Pretty common. Lots of character building and relationship building. I didn’t have the book just not a love. I was more excited for the end to get done than to see what happened. But I did enjoy the final chapters. Excited to see how things continue in the next book. Hoping a little more action and story.
Thanks to NetGalley, Nora Roberts, and Mcmillan Audio.
What an amazing second book in this series. The world building and character development was exactly what I craved. The family dynamics is interesting and complicated.
The audiobook was amazing. Barrie Kreinik is an amazing voice actor.
Cannot wait for the next installment!
The second book of Nora Roberts The Dragon Heart Legacy is just as enchanting as the first. All be it in every chapter at least one character mentions wine and there's several more sex scenes. Could do without so much of both since it really doesn't add to what is otherwise a great story. The epilogue feels out of place as an epilogue considering that this isn't the last book planned. Why not just make it the last chapter. An epilogue makes a book series feel as if this is the final book in the series not a middle of the series book. So, save epilogues for final books. Very exited for the third book now and wishing it would come out sooner.
