Not for me as I found the writing annoying and couldn't get past it. DNF @ 25%. I tried to come back to it a couple times in hopes that I was just in a certain mood, but unfortunately I couldn't continue.
I did not like this book, which was quite the disappointment, because the cover art on it was gorgeous. Hopefully one day, I'll be able to get into it.
Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an arc of this book in exchange for an honest review. "Speaking in Midnight Tongues and Other Symptoms of neon Fever: Poetry & Essays" is a very personal book, which covers a lot of topics. i truly enjoyed the pieces about writing and how it feels to write poetry or call yourself a poet nowadays. The approach of the author is very intimate, however it tends to also get rather repetitive. Many of the poems felt rushed and I found it hard to connect with the content or relate.

What a pleasant surprise.
If I’m being completely honest, the synopsis threw me off a little, and I truly don’t think it fits the collection, but I’m so glad I gave it a chance. This collection was honest, fascinating and, most importantly, wonderful.
Full disclosure : the author of this review is staring at the ceiling taking in the book she just read wondering how she’s meant to go on when her alarm goes off. It’s 2am.
This was wonderful and beautiful and lovely and a collection I suggest reading in a mood lit room at a late hour fro the full experience.
