A utterly charming short story mystery reminiscent of The Wind in the Willows, or The Adventures of Mr. Fox. A wonderful introduction to a series of books coming out in the Spring of 2022, and this one perfect for the upcoming Winter Solstice.

This was a very charming and festive short story that introduces the world of Shady Hollow, a new series that is coming in January 2022. I really liked this and am very intrigued to read the first full length novel when it comes out. Lovely holiday imagery and a unique cast of characters, I look forward to reading more by Juneau Black.
