The Sweetheart Deal is such a sweet romance about two people entering into a relationship to save their family businesses and unexpectedly falling in love along the way. All the characters were lovable and relatable, especially Tessa. A lot of us give up dreams or pass up opportunities at times in order to support our families, so I found myself rooting for her to find true love and success in making her patisserie dreams a reality. This is one of those books that’s easy to read in a sitting and has you searching what other gems the author may have written. Thank you to Entangled Publishing and NetGalley for an E-ARC of this book. All opinions are my own.

Such a cute and innocent read. Made me feel all warm & fuzzy inside!!

This is something I have never read before but I still really enjoyed it! Miranda is such a good storyteller that even with the low angst and older couple, I still found myself not being able to put it down! It was a cute fluffy story with a strong main character, Tessa was AMAZINGG! I loved her! She is the main reason I kept with the book! This book was a twist on a Romeo & Juliet story so if you enjoyed that, you will certainly enjoy this! The ending was sweet but I did feel like this book dragged on quite a bit...

When I really love a movie, I always rewind to watch the (satisfying) ending twice. The same is true for a good novel. The Sweetheart Deal, the first book in Miranda Liasson's new series, was one of those stories. Juliet (Tessa Montgomery) meets Romeo (Leo Castorini), and a marriage of convenience follows to help save their sparring families' respective businesses. Filled with Liasson's customary wit and emotion, these two enemies fake it until they make it. Tessa is a baker and Leo cooks some amazing Italian dishes so be prepared to satisfy your appetite. You'll want to read that ending twice.

Oh what a lovely read!

The Sweetheart Deal by author Miranda Liasson was such a great feel-good read. The "fake marriage" trope is always a "they-will-most-likely-fall-in-love" in my opinion...and this one didn't disappoint!

I really enjoyed this storyline and the characters. Tessa was such a wonderful heroine, it was hard not to love her and hope it all worked out for her. Leo was a great hero, and one you hoped Tessa would end up with.

This romance is kind of a Montagues and Catapults/Romeo and Juliet type storyline, without the death of the characters (spoiler alert! LOL).

The Sweetheart Deal is the first book in the Blossom Glen series by this author and I am looking forward to the next book to release!

Tessa Montgomery wants to study pastries. She is stuck in Blossom Glen in the family bread only bakery. Her old nemesis Leo Castorinis has returned to town. His family and her family are arch enemies. He has been in NY and has returned home to the family restaurant which is next to the bakery.
Both businesses are in trouble Leo thinks if they marry the families can work together to get the business back financially stable.
The marriage is for only six months; but of course, living together causes other problems.
I can't wait to read the other books set in Blossom Glen.

The Sweetheart Deal is a sweet and fun enemy to lovers read. It has vibes of Romeo and Juliet, in that there is a long running feud between two families and these young lovers are determined to end it to save both their family businesses. It is also a second chance rom com, but either way, I loved it.

Due to a misunderstanding in high school between Tessa and Leo there is just a bit of underlying tension that works to keep the story moving along. As with any enemy to lover book our story needs to move quickly. I would say going from barely speaking since high school to married within 2 weeks fits the bill!
Family and friends are skeptical, and it is up to Tessa and Leo to convince everyone that The Sweetheart Deal is a sure thing. I loved how hard Leo worked to show Tessa what he was willing to do to make this deal believable to family and friends.
Thank you very much to Net Galley and Entangled Publishing for sharing this Arc with me.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I thought that this book might be a cliched trope but I was terribly wrong, and delighted to be so. There were unexpected plot points and the additions of the crazy characters in each family make me hungry for the next book. The subplot involving Tessa's cat tore at my heart strings. I followed Miranda on goodreads and found out that there is to be another book in this series and I am eagerly awaiting which character it might involve. Maybe Juliet and the mayor?

This is warm, emotionally rich book about the importance of following our dreams and the power of second chances to change our lives. Family is also a central theme, with food and traditions showcasing the cultures of the Italian hero and French heroine. I loved how they were able to blend their families together by incorporating these together to make their business a success. Tessa had made a lot of sacrifices for her family and I have to say, I got a little teary eyed when finally she got her much deserved happily ever after. This book so uplifting and an absolute joy to read!

Tessa and Leo's families have been in a feud for over a hundred years. As these conflicts go, each family has a different origin story explaining why they never speak to each other. Tessa and Leo have participated in their own version of the feud since high school, competing to be valedictorian.

Fourteen years later, their families have faltering businesses right next door to each other. Tessa and Leo both have plans to revive their family businesses, but they need to work together to do so. Can they manage to collaborate? And can they bring their families on board? Maybe a fake marriage/marriage of convenience will help!

This was such a fun romance. I literally carried it around the house while getting ready for the day, simultaneously reading and walking into walls. Both families are wonderful, and they have great friends. I really want to eat all the Italian food and pastries from the book.

I am really looking forward to more books set in Blossom Glen, Indiana. This is the first of a new series.

I absolutely loved this book and tore through it to find out what would happen next. The chemistry between Tessa and Leo was incendiary. I was fascinated by the long standing feud between their two families and by the reluctance to try something new by the older generations. So glad to find out there is a sequel and am wondering who it will feature.

I love Miranda Liasson's style of romance. She builds fantastic worlds set in small towns full of characters you feel like you know from the start. Leo and Tessa are such fun characters. I loved the way they changed from enemies to a real couple. Leo completely made my heart melt and was so perfect for what Tessa needed. I laughed out loud at some of the scenes and really can say that I loved all the characters in the books. The book is such a heartwarming story. The ending left me feeling all warm and fuzzy, I loved it! I'm so hoping for more books set in Blossom Glen. I received an advance copy and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I really enjoyed Leo and Tessa's story. I love marriage of convenience books, and this has a unique spin on that trope. In order to save their families' businesses, they decide to get married and force their parents to move toward the future. Their plan works spectacularly except that they start to fall in love. That is a problem for several reasons, so both of them try to ignore it. And guess how well that works? Along the way, there are lots of funny scenes and several touching moments as family members reconnect with each other. Mistakes are made but for goodhearted reasons because everyone in this story is a good person, so I was smiling all through the lovely ending. This is my first read from this author, and I was pleased to find it low on heavy drama and light on swearing. I loved all of the characters, and I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

The Sweetheart Deal starts a new series for Miranda Liasson. We all know how much I enjoy a new series. Add small-town romance and I'm hooked. Throw in family members that can't mind their own business and I've lost my mind with happiness.

The First in the Blossom Glen series starts off with what I think is a second chance romance. Not that these two ever really were together in a relationship but they were together in spirit. It took these two a while to realize that they are better together than apart.

I really enjoyed Tessa. She worked hard for her family and put her own dreams on the back burner to do so. Something not all of us would have done. I did feel that at times she used that to make herself feel more put upon. I think a little part of her felt like she needed to be needed.

This is why I think it's great that Leo came back into her life. He made her realize that she needed to live for herself and not only those around her. He gave her a way to see what her true dreams are.

I love Leo too. He spent his time away working hard and decided it was time to come home and help with the family business. He has great ideas to show his family what their restaurant could be and needs Tessa to help him.

Together these two show both their families what could be while faking a marriage and falling in love for real.

I so enjoyed their story and how they found their happy-ever-after. The road wasn't always easy but for the most part, I smiled through it. They did run into some issues and I think that Leo was unfairly treated by Tessa and her family. I'm glad their problems were smoothed over quickly and that you got to see a bit after their HEA.

Not only will you like Tessa and Leo you'll enjoy their families. I really can't wait to see what's coming up next in Blossom Glen.

Wholesome, sweet beginning to a new series by Miranda Liasson. Playing into a Romeo/Juliette theme (no deaths), the Montgomery's and Castorinis's have been feuding for generations. Tess Mongomery works in her family bakery. She had hopes and dreams of leaving the small town of Blossom Glen but after her father's death her family needed her. Leo Castorinis left town using the scholarship that could have been hers and never looked back. Now after getting his MBA and working in NYC for ten years he returns home wanting to revitalize the family restaurant. But his family won't consider any changes. He proposes a plan where he and Tess marry to end the feud and allow both of them to make changes that will allow both failing businesses to turn around.

This is a quick read, cute, Hallmark type of story. Their families are surprised and hesitantly supportive. Of course there will be a little angst but the kind that will be easily fixed. I liked that we got the POV of both characters although I didn't feel I knew Leo as well as Tess. I also had to roll my eyes a little that they didn't seem to have an exit plan or discuss realities of what was who's. For example he builds a kitchen island from something very important to her family. Not sure how you divide that in a divorce. Some time is taken up with side characters who I assume will be the leads in future books. Clean, with closed door intimacy. (3.5 stars)

One of my absolute favorite tropes is marriage of convenience - so when I saw this book I knew I had to read it. This was my first book by Liaison and I really enjoyed it.

I always love watching the marriage of convenience turn into a real marriage and a happily ever after and this one added a bigger element by also being a Romeo and Juliet dynamic between two families. Unfortunately the Romeo and Juliet parts weren't my favorite and felt almost rushed at times.

I adored Leo and Tessa. Their competitive nature from high school was so fun to read backstory on and I loved how even though they could be total opposites they had a lot in common too. I love how important family was to them both.

The romance heated up perfectly in this book as it tends to with forced proximity. I love how natural it was because as they grew closer they actually started to learn to grow in other ways too.

This was such a good book and I will definitely read more from this author.

I received an advanced copy of this book through NetGalley. This is my honest review.

I don't think I am a fan of the whole fake marriage thing for something to work out trope. It doesn't seem quite realistic to me.

I know this is a romance plot and they aren't always meant to be realistic but I just don't think it was my cup of tea. I liked the beginning how they tried to get along but then the fix came a bit sudden.

This book ended up being a two star rating because it was just ok. I lost interest early on. Thank you Netgalley and publishers for allowing chance to read and review.

Welcome to Blossom Glen where there has been a family feud going on for a long time between the Montgomery's and the Castorini's. Tessa has been working in the family bakery that makes only bread. She has the desire to be a pastry chef, open her own shop and make wonderful pastries. Leo Castorini has come home to help save the family restaurant. Neither parents are talking to each other and it is up to them to try and save them. There solution is a fake marriage. It was just supposed to be a service at city hall. Somehow both families show up. Leo and Tessa buy a house together, a sign of settling down. Falling in love was not on the menu but they are. A favor that was asked of Leo broke the spell. Now Mr Castorini has given his son some advice. Tell her you love her and use your fancy degree to win her back. The ending was perfect.

What a great way to start a new small town romance series. Tessa Montgomery and Leo Castorini were constantly competing in high school. There was a spark between them, but because their families had been feuding for the better part of a century, nothing ever happened between them. While Leo left town and became a successful financier, Tessa stayed behind to help her family run their boulangerie. It is fourteen years later, and Leo has returned to help his families struggling restaurant. Tessa’s family boulangerie is also struggling. Leo has an idea to include Tessa’s breads and desserts on his revamped menu, but his father won’t do it due to the feud. He concocts a plan the he and Tessa will get married long enough to convince their parents to modernize their operations. I loved both of these families and the other residents of Blossom Glen. If you want a less tragic, more mature version of Romeo and Juliet, this is a great read. I received an advanced reader copy of this book from NetGalley for my honest review.

Thank to net galley for an ARC in return for an honest review.
This was super sweet!
Con: it seems that they didn't explore their options for resolving the problem much.
Pros: Even though the plot seems a little rushed I was sucked in. The writing style, banter and characters kept me interested and engaged the whole way!
