This is a new author to me, and I will certainly be looking out for her work in the future. Liz had plans to kill her husband’s mistress when she turns up dead, and Liz is convicted for the crime. When in prison she has an unexpected visitor Evelyn, who claims to be her husband’s fiancée, and is desperate for Liz to sign the divorce papers. After chatting for awhile Liz realizes that Evelyn may be the one to help her prove her innocence, but would she betray the man she loves to help? This is a well written story which is intriguing, thrilling, and with drama, twists, suspense, mystery, emotions, secrets, revenge, and friendships, which all leads to a riveting page turner. I look forward to reading move from this talented author, and I recommend her work.

A fairly quick read with an interesting and original plot. I did guess the outcome fairly early on but it was enjoyable anyway mainly because of the clever writing style.

This is a fantastic thriller. It’s my first book by this author and I loved it. I started it last night and had planned to read a few chapters but found that I had to keep reading until I finished it.
The story drew me in quickly and I was desperate to get to the end to find out what happened.
I’d definitely recommend this one.

Wow! This was my first book by Wendy and won’t be my last.

Liz’s story will definitely take you on a journey of who done it. You get a glimpse of everything that led up to her being put in prison. This story will keep you pulled in until the very end. The plot twist will definitely leave your mind blown!

I started this feeling like it wasn't going to be a book I enjoyed. I had the assumption that it'd be more drama and less mystery suspense but omg was I wrong!! I devoured thie book in one sitting and am devastated It's finished now. It is so engaging and really does have you wondering about even the things that you thought you knew. You will be completely sucked in from the oust and it will keep you enthralled until that very last page. An amazing read

This was such a fun fast read! Liz is in prison for killing her husbands lover, the death which she might have plotted but which she suspects her husband committed. While we realize who the killer is, it’s a great read to figure out why and how it was done. The ending seemed rushed, setting it up for a possible sequel, which of course, I would love to read.

This is my first read by this author and it was quite the page turner. I was able to read this in one sitting, it is a short book at just 207 pages on my tablet but I was enthralled from start to finish. I felt invested in this story right away and immediately felt bad for Liz. She lost a baby, found out her husband is having an affair, planned to kill his pregnant mistress (claims she didn't) and when the mistress ends up dead she ends up paying the price for it. Then along comes her husband's fiance, Evelyn. (yes you read that right) he's already engaged and divorce proceedings haven't even started yet. Evelyn decides to take matters into her own hands and visits Liz in jail with the divorce papers! That's when things get really interesting as Liz has a plan, Make Evelyn listen to her story and maybe she'll realize how dangerous Nathan really is and earn her freedom at the same time.

This book was so fast paced it made my head spin...in a good way! It is told from the first person point of view of Liz herself and it is also part epistolary novel as there are letters back and forth. (I loved that) I did figure it out before the halfway mark but it didn't ruin my enjoyment one bit. I loved all the internal dialogue as it made me feel like I was right inside the characters head. The ending was a "wait...what just happened!?" kind of moment but I am hoping there is a book two, and I don't like books that are in a series so it goes to show how much I liked this one. Highly recommend.

A quick read with a cliffhanger ending. I guessed the big twist and even have a good guess what the next book will reveal.

I didn’t care a whit for any of the characters in this book, ok, except maybe Samantha snd she was only a bit player.
Lizzy, from whose point of view the story unfolds, was as conniving and devious as any of them and as for Nathan - ugh!!! They deserved each other!
The story was very well put together in fairness and the ending whilst not definitive was a good twist.

This one was quite suspenseful. Seeing someone get accused of something they can do is quite prevalent and unfortunately in today’s society and that’s our protagonists predicament in this novel. I was very curious to see how it played out and who set her up or did she play any part in anything. Great page turner,

WOW ! The obsession is real in this novel! Murder, mystery, psychological thriller! You name it, this book has it!

Wendy Owen's did an incredible job narrating My Husband's Fiancee. The character development was on point, each chapter lead fluidly into the next. I was able to finish this book from start to finish in one day. I absolutely loved it !

My Husband's Fiancee, follows the story of Liz. Liz is accused of murdering her husband's mistress. This book starts out a year after Liz is convicted of Allison's murder. Liz gets an unexpected visitor from her husbands NEW fiancee, Dr Evelyn Powell. Dr Powell, has come to visit Liz in prison to get her to sign the divorce papers. Liz begs Dr Powell to just hear her out, she wants to explain her side of the story.

Liz needs to have Dr Powell understand that she did not kill Allison but Nathan did and if Dr Powell isnt careful she could be next.

How far would you go for your freedom?

Excellent read, highly recommend!

Thank you so much for my ARC!
I have featured the book on my Instagram blog @thrillers_and_unicorns on October 30, and I will also post my review there on November 9.

My review:

Summary:
After her Husband's mistress was killed, Liz got imprisoned for it. But she says she didn't do it - yes, she planned to kill her, but she didn't go through with it. Her husband, though... He knew about her plans, so he could've easily done it and framed her. When his new fiancée starts visiting Liz in prison - willing to listen to her story in exchange for signed divorce papers - it's an opportunity for Liz to get out of prison - or is she not so innocent after all?

My opinion:
My Husband's Fiancée is a fast-paced thriller with a strong main character I definitely felt for. Imagine the hopelessness of being imprisoned for something you're certain you didn't do?! I loved how some parts of the story were told via letters, and I was intrigued by the past as well as the present events. The ending was shocking and emotional - but beware, it's kind of a cliffhanger. I love the author's style of writing, I only wish she had driven the unreliable narrator-trope a little further.

This was my first book by Wendy Owens, and it won't be my last! 😍

Parts of this book reminded me of:
- The Serial Killer's Wife by Alice Hunter
- Clear My Name by Paula Daly

I’m not a huge fan of these types of books. I probably would watch it if it were a movie. But for some reason it just looked interesting and I decided to give it a try.

Description
When my husband’s mistress was found brutally murdered, I was the one imprisoned for the crime.

I was willing to do whatever it took to prove my innocence. When Dr. Evelyn Powell showed up on visiting day, I was shocked to learn she was my husband’s new fiancé. I befriended her in hopes of finding answers to my questions.

Was my husband behind the brutal slaying? If I wanted to regain my freedom, I had to figure out a way to convince Evelyn to betray the man she loved and search for the evidence that would prove my innocence. After all, if I was right about my husband, she could be his next victim.

A psychological thriller with a twist you’ll have to read to believe.

This was definitely a keep you on the edge your seat page turner! I kept thinking I would take a break after one chapter to only find myself flying through it to see how it ended! This would def make a good film. I highly fruit if you love this genre or know someone who does. Also if it isn’t really your thing but are looking to try something new this would be a great choice

We have all had those immediate click, intense attraction, obsessive thoughts and must constantly touch relationships. Do they tank? Sometimes. Are we blind? For sure.
Mel is having a tough time. She has just been bumped from the coveted breakfastt radio show to the late show - it's most active hour, True Confessions.
Meeting her coworkers out for a drink - Simon shares his wife pregnancy, after a miscarriage; Simon his usual drunk self is determined to set Mel up - she hasn't dated since her divorce.
Then she sees him talking to Chris - Malik. Instant physical attraction.
After a night together, someone slaches Mel's tire. Strange sounds in the dark radio station corridor.
And Natalie's distrurbing true confession.
Lots of suspense, drama, friendship complications. Great read.

I couldn't put it down...not for anything yesterday! I finished it in a day and was so happy to be reading it. Even the World Series and my hubby telling me to "watch this play" or "that wasn't a strike" couldn't get me to look up from this book. This is my first book from Wendy Owens and I am beyond thrilled at her level of writing and how engaged I was with the characters and the entire story line. I felt like I was Liz...and for an author to be able to transform the reader into the main character is exceptional! I highly & enthusiastically recommend this thriller to everyone I know and can't wait for the next book so I can find out what happens! 😉⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️📖👍🏼
