In To Treasure an Heiress, readers get to enjoy this beautiful, historic region of England from Beth’s perspective. I"ve never heard of Scilly Island until I started reading this series.

Beth has been missing for a while and she intentionally hid herself. There's treasure afoot and she knows the key... or something like that.
She clashes with Lord Sheridan, a guest of her brother, over the relics and treasures found on their island. In an antagonists to lovers arc, Beth and Sheridan bond over their love for history. Turns out they were more the same than they were different.

Netgalley and Bethany House Publishers provided me with a copy of Treasure an Heiress for review.

The year is 1906:

Beth Tremayne has been drawn to adventure for as long as she can remember. As a child, she explored every inch of the Isles of Scilly. The hunt for pirate treasure has become more adventurous than she could have imagined after she stumbled upon an old collection of letters and a map buried on her family's property. However, she must search alongside Lord Sheridan, a man she finds insufferable, in order to find the clues.

Throughout his life, Sheridan has pursued whatever archaeological interests piqued his curiosity. Upon discovering Beth's search is connected to one of his far-removed pirate ancestors, he can't resist getting involved. Despite the fact that she insists he stole her prized possession, he finds her irresistible.

Following clues and drawing closer to danger, they begin to piece together a story of tragic love and piratical adventure. Is it the treasure they find in each other or the one just out of reach that will bring the greatest surprise?

I give To Treasure an Heiress five out of five stars!

Happy Reading!

I've never read a book by Roseanna M. White that I didn't enjoy. To Treasure an Heiress is no exception.

This book was a fun continuation of the Secret of the Isles series! The pirate story Beth has been chasing is definitely intriguing and provides a great adventure for the reader. The interaction between Beth and Sheridan is really quite humorous and adds a comedic flare to the story. In addition to the comedy, there are some historical elements added to this story as well. It's always fun to find historical gems explored in fictional stories, and I love that the author includes an Author's Note section at the end of the book to let the reader know which parts are actual history and which are fiction. I thought that the book was enjoyable as it kept my interest and brought a smile to my face in several places. I would definitely recommend picking up this series.

Due to the reasons I did not finish The Nature of a Lady I will not be continuing this series though it saddens me.

This book is so good! I highly recommend reading the series in order, to fully appreciate the characters and on going treasure hunt, though each story is wrapped up somewhat. I love Beth and Telford. The hero is hilarious, with the way he handles being smitten with Beth. I loved looking at how courtship and dating had changed in the early 1900's. The historical aspect and Isles of Scilly were also enjoyable. I highly recommend this story and the series!

One of my favorite things about Roseanna M. White's books is how unique the settings and plots always are, and this book was no exception! This book was super unique: we were introduced to life on the Sicilian Isles, but this book delves deeper into that setting.

This book follows Beth, who has been looking for pirate treasure that has been rumored to exist around the island for years. It becomes more and more obvious that people are looking for this treasure and that she is on the right track, but no one is sure if the treasure even exists at all! At the same time, Sheridan is also invested in finding this treasure, but he is just pursuing it because of his own interest. Beth doesn't trust Sheridan, but their research interests are so similar that they end up working together very closely, and they eventually fall in love.

My main gripe with this book is that it is utterly unmemorable: I distinctly remember enjoying the story while I was reading it, but I have truly no memory of what my favorite parts of it were, nor do I remember most of the plot points. I really liked the setting, and the background characters were really lovely: Mamm-wynn and Emily and Ainsley.

Beth was a really nice character and had a really nice personality, as well as a character arc that was interesting to follow. I really liked the enemies-to-lovers relationship she had with Sheridan, and their banter was very witty and very fun. I really liked Sheridan as a character: he had some struggles with his faith, but he stated the reasons why he doubted clearly and honestly. He never stopped pursuing his faith, and--my favorite part--called out Christians for making Christianity uninteresting and unappealing. His insistent pursuit of Beth left a bit of a nasty taste in my mouth, but aside from that, I really liked his character.

The secondary character arc, regarding Senara and her being taken advantage of by a man, was much heavier and I appreciated the discussion. I think there could have been a bit more nuanced discussion, but it was overall handled tactfully and Biblically.

Overall, I enjoyed this book! There weren't any parts that particularly stuck out to me, but it was a pleasant read.

"How strange were regrets. So many things she hated, yet without them, things she loved would never have been."

If you enjoy intriguing historical fiction, this is the book for you. Set in the British Isles of Scilly, it includes hunting pirate treasure and searching for connections to a long-ago prince. The story reels the reader in and won’t let go as the bait keeps dangling and makes readers desire more adventure with these wonderful characters along with the budding romance. I had disliked Lord Sheridan but he definitely redeemed himself and went way beyond to endear himself. But the intrepid searchers must race to find the treasure before their unscrupulous competition reaches it. I loved the novel, but once in a while a phrase sounded too modern and snapped me out of the fictional world. (But that may be because I’m a word nerd and notice words.) Here is one favorite passage: “Mud does not make a pearl less valuable. If it did, then why would Jesus have deemed us worthy of the sacrifice of His life? But He loves us. . . . And the blood of Christ, when it washes us clean, fully restores us to what He created us to be. A pearl cannot be stained. . . . Wash it in a bit of water and it’s gleaming again.” I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

"To Treasure an Heiress” is a delightful Christian historical mystery/romance by Roseanna M White.

I thoroughly enjoyed this second book in The Secrets of the Isles series. Set in the early 1900s, it follows Beth T while she continues to search for pirate treasure. But the pesky Lord Sheridan is also searching, and while she blames him for all of the danger they faced previously, the real enemy hasn’t given up the hunt.

What could be more fun than a hunt for pirate treasure? This one takes place on the Isles of Scilly, located off the coast the British Isles, and the real stories of pirates visiting those Isles inspired this series.

I loved the characters most. Lord Sheridan, in particular, was a favorite. He spent the entire book trying to win Beth over, but she was dead-set against being even friends. In his mind, he kept calculating how long it would take before he could propose—up to 10 years! He and the other characters were a little over-the-top in their personalities, but it added color and fun to an otherwise tense tale.

A theme in the story is forgiveness and redemption. Beth had to learn to forgive Sheridan and to see that she was misunderstanding his part in the danger they had faced. Meanwhile, in a secondary love story among Beth and Sheridan’s friends, the sweet woman was learning that she was still lovable, forgivable, and redeemable in spite of an awful choice she had made. Her part of the story was my favorite because it reminded me that no mistake or sin is too big for God.

I highly recommend this fun tale to those who enjoyed “Wings of the Morning” by Lori Wick.

I received a complementary copy of this book from NetGalley, I received no compensation, and my review is entirely honest.

I tried, but I just couldn’t finish this one. Which is a shame, because I absolutely loved the last book that I read from this author.
I couldn’t keep the characters straight, and even after reading 1/3rd of the book, I felt like I was missing some vital information about the entire plot. I had to keep rereading passages so I could kind of figure out what was happening.

A sweet and funny historical (and fictional) romance. This one is a big more interesting to me than the first book in this series. I do like Beth a lot! I love to learn new things about history from historical fiction.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ebook advance copy. The opinions expressed are entirely my own.

Surprises, clues, a story of tragic love and pirate ancestors! This story was interesting from start to finish. A couple who would work together but vowed not to become a couple. The ending was so good!

Another amazing book by Roseanna M. White!! This is the second book in her Secrets of the Isles series and I was so happy to return to Scilly and the pirate treasure mystery/hunt.

Beth Tremayne was missing in most of book 1- trying to track down a mystery while keeping her family safe. Now she is front and center in book two- searching for clues and trying to stay ahead of those trying to take the treasure by any means. I love how she uses folklore from the islands to decipher truth!

In on the search is Lord Sheridan- who turns out to be hilarious! I had many laugh out loud moments reading this book and enjoying Beth and Lord Sheridan's interactions. Their ever evolving relationship was the highlight of the book for me!

White makes the islands if Scilly come alive with her descriptive writing. Her characters are fun with depth and determination and I love that I can learn some history and geography mixed with the mystery in this book! Who doesn't love a pirate story? I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys historical fiction, romance or just a good story!

I received a complementary copy of this book from the author and publisher. I was not obligated to write a review. All thoughts are my own.

Book two in “The Secret of the Isles” series…..here in the Isles of Scilly, we meet up again with Beth Tremayne. She may still be feeling a bit guilty about her family’s concern for her (in book one) but as she has yet to solve the mystery, she cannot relent. Not yet. The treasure is out there somewhere!

Initially Beth’s adversary (at least that is what she believes), Lord Sheridan is a delight - and the perfect foil for Beth. His wit and unending cheerfulness is a pleasure to read. Thankfully it doesn’t take terribly long for Beth and Sheridan to figure out just how much they understand each other, and that their goals are actually quite complimentary.

This book was so much fun! It has been wonderful to learn about another time and way of life; I also enjoyed the author’s explanation of the location’s history.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Bethany House Publishers and NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

I’ve contemplated a few times which of Roseanna M. White’s books might be my favorite and it always comes to whichever one I’m either currently reading or have finished most recently. This one is certainly no exception to that standard! I loved the first book in the series, “The Nature of a Lady” and have been eagerly awaiting this one, especially after learning it would be Beth and Sheridan’s story. Though I met them only briefly in the previous story, I knew their tale would be an interesting one!
As always, I loved the characters Ms. White has created! Sheridan’s thoughts and wanderings often had me smiling or laughing as he came up with an odd story or another. And Beth soon became a dear friend as I was reading, though one I wanted to shake some sense into on occasion. Their romance was sweet, if seeming a little swift. But the story is also fast paced and I appreciated that even the characters were aware of how quickly their emotions changed.
I also greatly enjoyed the new characters in Senara and Ainsley. I always really enjoy how well Ms. White draws in new personalities and dual storylines, with a perceived ease that is probably a lot more work than this reader realizes. Then there’s the hunt for pirate treasure that kept me wondering if they would ever actually find something or if it would all be for naught.
Overall, I greatly enjoyed this story and am anxiously awaiting the announcement for the third book (I’ve a guess who’s it will be, but I’m not sure)!

*My thanks to the author and publisher for my copy of this book! I was not required to write a review, positive or otherwise, and have not been compensated for it in any way. All opinions expressed are my own.

I loved the second instalment in Roseanna White's new series set on the Isles of Scilly. I cannot overstate how much I love this series, actually.

First of all, Lord Sheridan. Forget Beth, I want to marry that man. He's a nerd and a hobby archaeologist. I want to go on digs with him. This would be a dream. Just -- yes I will excavate a Viking burial mound with you, and study and obscure ancient language. Nothing can make me happier.

Everything else about him is just wonderful and I love him. The innocence, the appealing nerdiness, the sense of humour, and he's eccentric to boot.
Beth is amazing too. I love her very much. Honestly, every character in this book is so well written, unique and realistic in their own way. One thing that I love about Roseanna White's work is that she avoids the pitfalls of some Inspy authors who basically make characters perfect and passive and seem afraid of giving them any real flaws.

That's one the case here. Although the characters may come over as quaint and funny (and they are, Sheridan's repartee with his friends is hilarious) they seem like real people, with real flaws and struggles. They don't overcome these easily (if at all) and have to work through things.
The faith messages were woven seamlessly into a story about a long- lost pirate treasure, the people who want to find it and life on some unique Cornish islands.

Ahhh, what a lovely book. It just tickled all my fancies, warmed my soul, and filled my heart. Sheridan, oh Sheridan, is definitely the best part. His adorable quirkiness, his curiosity and love of history, his adoring devotion, and his unusual but firm faith, all make for an incredible hero.
Beth is oh-so-relatable with her live of adventure and family. Her growth is beautiful.
The location! Ah! Take me to the Scilly Islands please!
Suspense. Beautiful, intense, perfect suspense as the story builds and more questions and danger arise.
Over all? Definitely recommend. And you can officially count me a fan of Roseanna M. White.

This has got to be one of my new favorite books! I normally love books by Roseanna M. White. But this one was especially great in my opinion. The plot was great, the mystery was intriguing, and the characters were a fun group. But my favorite part? That would probably have to be Sheridan. His sense of hummer, the way he would think/talk, his personality, it was all just priceless. And when you add Beth into the mix it gets even better. I wish there was a whole series about him and Beth during future archaeological adventurers.
But for now back to the book at hand. To Treasure an Heiress has been a wonderful adventure, and I highly recommend it. And I look forward to seeing what Roseanna M. White comes out with next!

While still full of depth this book contained more humor than the other books that I have read by Roseanna White. I found it delightful.

This is the second book in the series and you will need to read The Nature of a Lady first. I loved how the first book in the series was all about finding your place by settling in and this book was about finding your place by letting your roots give you wings. Both books reflect on the power of community, connection and how we are not meant to live a self-sufficent life.

I kept turning the pages and throughly enjoyed Beth and Sheridan’s story. I recommend this book to you and am looking forward to the next book in the series. (But you’ll be glad to know that this book doesn’t end in a cliff-hanger).

I received a free digital galley of this book to read in exchange for my honest opinion.
