Give me all the Roseanna books! I love this one so so good! Original, fun, engaging, soooo good. I loved the MC and the plot just got better and better as the story progreses. It was magical.
To Treasure and Heiress was such a fun read. The plot was full of exciting adventure, and the characters were all wonderfully developed.
I’ve read many books where side characters are basically props without any personality or where both the side and main characters seem to behave, speak and think alike. This was not the case with White’s characters. If felt like every single person in White’s book was a true individual with their own personality. They were each unique and relevant to the plot.
However, I must confess Sheridan’s was my favourite character. I actually found myself laughing at some of the things he thought and spoke. This was by far the most humorous book of White’s that I’ve read, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
To Treasure an Heiress is unabashedly Christian Fiction. Some with differing life-views may find the book preachy. I, however, felt it did a good job of accurately showing people living their lives and using their beliefs to help overcome their personal struggles.
Thank you NetGalley and Bethany House for a digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Searching for treasure on the Scillies islands. 1906 Christian Historical. Beth has been searching for the treasure that was part of her family's heritage, at first alone then joined by others. It's a pleasure getting to know so many characters from the previous book that carried over to this book and learn more about them. And their legends. Beth and Sheridan both have a need for adventure and seeking things buried. They, and others in the group, need to learn things about themselves, and to anchor themselves in faith and wisdom. These relationships, all kinds, are what make the stories so interesting. At first, I had trouble getting into the story, but about halfway through it started picking up pace and was difficult to put down all through the rest. Lots to think about. A pirate Prince and Island ladies romance has a telling.

This series by Roseanna M White, set in the lovely Scilly Isles, is my favorite of hers. I love the setting, the storyline, and especially the people.
These books are filled with characters that are real. They are people I feel like I know, and would like to be friends with. These characters have a depth to them that is a bit uncommon for historical fiction like these.
This book, To Treasure an Heiress, is the second book in the series, and it is such a beautiful continuation from the first book. (If you haven't read that one yet, you will definitely want to read it first!)
This is Beth and Sheridan's story, and it is delightful to read.
Beth hates Sheridan when the story opens. Reasons abound from the first book. Sheridan, however, is smitten with her almost immediately. This definitely adds some humorous moments to the story.
Add in the fact that they are searching for hidden pirate treasure....this book is action packed and full of twists and turns.
I highly recommend this series to all who enjoy reading historical fiction.
I am eager to read Emily's story in the next book.

I wasn’t fully sure what to expect going into this book after the last couple from this author weren’t my favorites. But thankfully this one seemed to be more in the direction of her previous works!
We met Beth and Sheridan in the last book but didn’t really get to know them all that well so I didn’t have a lot of preconceived notions about them.
Sheridan was a delight-he had a bit of boyish enthusiasm and charm to him but could also be serious when the situation called for it. The way he was utterly enchanted with Beth from the start was so entertaining and sweet. He was unashamed in his affection and unwavering as well and it could have slipped into obnoxious but he rode the line perfectly and I found it endearing.
Beth was slower to come around to Sheridan but she made her way there and they were adorable together. They both had a similar passion for adventure and discovery and just fit together so perfectly.
This book had a secondary story like the first one did (which was one of my least favorite parts about that one) but it was a lot less in your face so I didn’t mind it as much.
The continued search for pirate treasure didn’t capture me as much as it probably will other readers but it was entertaining at times (occasionally the research bits got a little dry) and overall enjoyable.
The cast of side characters continued over and they’ve slowly won me over to their charming island ways.
All in all this book was a great read and I’m curious about book three!

To Treasure an Heiress (The Secrets of the Isles, #2) by Roseanna M. White is a delightful read! I really enjoyed Beth and Sheridan as they searched the clues in the search for pirate treasure. Beth is an adventurer who lives on the Island and Sheridan interests are in archaeology. When they get together there witty dialog, humor, and great adventure along the way, also romance. Bonus: There is even a map in the book!
This is the second installment in this series and my favorite so far. Catching up with characters from the previous book is always good. Looking forward to the next book. Ms. White's books are always interesting, exciting and inspirational. You should check out book series out. Highly recommended.
I received this book from the author and Bethany House Publishers and all opinions are my own.
This was one of my favorite books by this author, the humor, the setting and as usual her characters. The story of Beth and Sheridan was truly enjoyable and one I won’t soon forget. Sheridan was comical which added to my overall enjoyment.
Who doesn’t like a little mystery and a treasure hunt? I confess it’s not something I normally enjoy, but I certainly did in To Treasure an Heiress

To Treasure An Heiress #2 The Secrets of the Isles by Roseanna M. White
We return to the Isles of Scilly 1906… Beth Tremayne is searching for a pirates treasure she believes is buried somewhere on one of the Isles of Scilly. She attempts to locate the treasure on her own in order to keep her family safe, however; her family and friends soon become part of the search, helping her to puzzle out the clues and discover the treasure before those who want it for themselves find it. Those who will use any means to find the treasure first.
Lord Theodore Sheridan is an avid archaeologist and must involve himself in Beth’s search...it involves his favorite pirate, after all. Beth doesn’t want any parts of him but he doesn’t take no for an answer. His thought process is interesting and I love how he speaks out his internal thoughts without meaning to at odd times. He has a unique way of expressing things and his humor had me laughing out loud at times. The interaction between Theo and his trusty valet, Ainsley, is fun to watch. Ainsley often gives Theo advice and offers godly wisdom in his own unique style. Ainsley is a gem. I love the interaction between Beth and Theo and how, as they puzzle out the clues, they find more than buried treasure...treasure of the heart. I love Mamm-wynn!
I especially enjoyed the spiritual elements woven within the story-line and characters lives. This story is filled with intrigue and mystery, pirates and buried treasure, danger and suspense, forgiveness, love and enduring faith. I like that a map of the Isles is included in the front of the book; I referred to it many times as I read the story. I enjoyed the author’s notes and the way she weaves historical facts within the fictional story-line. To Treasure An Heiress is on my favorites for 2022.
~I received a copy of this book from the author/publisher; also an e-book copy from the author/publisher via NetGalley (no monetary gain were exchanged), this is my honest review~
To Treasure an Heiress is the second book in the Secrets of the Isles series, and we follow the “original” Beth, not her accidental doppelganger lol, as she continues to search for pirate treasure. I recommend reading The Nature of A Lady first, you’re gonna feel very lost in this book as it features a lot of characters from book 1. I’m very thankful for the recap that’s woven seamlesly into this book and it might actually work if you’re a new reader, but still, please read book 1, it will make your experience all the better.
It’s been a while since I read a book that was so much fun! I laughed out loud a lot, lord Sheridan’s inner voice is just THE BEST. I kinda want to marry him now. He is very funny, in an endearing way and he doesn’t really care when he looks silly, and is quick to forgive. I have to say, I really didn’t like him in the first book, as Libby doesn’t like him, but I have to say she totally misread this guy. He’s awesome. And Beth needs to find out that he’s awesome, but it’s kinda hard when he’s kind of the reason she got in trouble and he still has her jewelry box that was stolen from her and sold to him. But there seems to be no other choice than to include him into the search for more pirate treasure, as it’s far from over and they need to keep it out of enemy hands, and working together might prove how Sheridan is not who she thought he was.
There might be more romance brewing, or not, when another island girl returns home, and I’m here for a secondary romance line! Especially one that has much spiritual meaning and depth about redemption and starting over. Yeah, this book is both funny and in depth, and I dig that combination! In fact, there is some literal digging too. Mamm-wyn is still the best, and even though the house is kinda bursting at the seams, she takes all the newcomers in and loves them in her own unique way, with loads of wisdom and quirkiness.
The only thing that was a bit hard, was to keep everyone apart, as some people have both titles, and are referred mostly as their titles, but also first names and last names that are different from their title name. It was a bit confusing at times and it took me half the book to remember who was who, but that’s really the only downside to this book.
The story itself was very engaging, the treasure hunt is fun, the villains are really evil (yet complicated too), and the many spiritual gold nuggets in between make this book epic. I have to say, I liked it a lot better than book 1, but of course that’s mainly because of Sheridan. Did I mention he’s the best?
I received a free e-arc but it hasn’t influenced my opinions.
A most beautiful cover for this book in the series The Secrets of the Isles. As always White has written a book with very strong and believable characters. You will love her characters, the history, the locations and the circumstances she writes about. In this second book we visit the same place with most of the same characters from book one. A bit of suspense and mystery along with romance makes it an interesting read…..I reviewed a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.
Roseanna White is an auto-buy author for me, and once again she proves why. She provides vivid settings, wonderfully written characters, intriguing plot lines, and makes me never want to leave the pages of her books. The Secret of the Isles series has been fantastic to read, and I love how the characters have intermingled between these first two installments.
My favorite character is still Mamm-Wynn. She always says the right thing at the right time, and boy she can be spunky. I love her quirky sayings, and how she just kind of inserts herself everywhere. But if I had to pick a favorite main character, well honestly I have to go Sheridan here. He's got this kind of bad, arrogant vibe to him. But then White let's you hear some of his thoughts, and they were so surprising. Not ones I would expect from someone like him, and it really just melted my heart at times.
Along with great characters, a beautiful setting, and some chuckle moments, White added a layer of mystery here with the treasure hunt. It was so fun, and a great way to bring our leading people together. I wouldn't quite call it enemies to lovers, but it sure was close. And the way White wrote their slow burning romance was spot on! Historical fans will love all the deep layers of history in the novel, and romance fans will love seeing Beth and Sheridan come together. I highly recommend the latest from Roseanna White!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. I was not required to write a favorable review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This is the first by this author and I love the Christian content. It was not overbearing, just there giving the book a clean wholesome feel. Although this is the second in the series I found it easy enough to work out the past and enjoy the story. The characters were well written and the setting was described beautifully. I will be looking for more by this author. I received this as an ARC and freely give my review,.
To Treasure an Heiress by Roseanna M. White continues her endearing and intriguing saga centered around the mysterious treasures found in the enchanting Isles of Scilly. The Secrets of the Isles series by Ms. White has been an interesting departure from what I have grown accustomed to as her typical context of the world wars. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would highly recommend it, not that I am surprised in the slightest. 😉 I have to be honest and say that Roseanna M. White is one of my favorite authors and I have thoroughly enjoyed every book I have read by Ms.White. Her attention to detail, whether in the historic context, descriptive language, or her characters and plots makes her writing superb. I also enjoy how Ms. White weaves in romance, adventure, and humor together without cheapening the romance or lessening the excitement of the plot.
book, I can confidently say that the reader will appreciate To Treasure an Heiress merely for the intricate mysterious plot, the developed characters, the sweet romance, the adorable humor, as well as the triumph of faith, family, and love. I enjoyed the mystery and adventure of the plot as well as the hilarious comedic relief that Ms. White so adeptly included throughout the work. The main and supporting characters were well developed and full of uniqueness and relatability that endeared them to the readers. I also appreciated how Ms. White portrayed the struggles the main characters had with their faith. She allowed the characters to display faults as well as show growth and learning. Overall, I greatly enjoyed To Treasure an Heiress and would highly recommend it!
Beth Tremayne loves adventure and has never been one to back down from a challenge. After uncovering a treasure map and a possible pirate treasure, Beth discovers that the plot runs deep and may even involve some of her own family's history. Although she wants to keep this particular adventure to herself, (Due to some of the events in the first book of this series, read The Nature of a Lady) Beth now has a most irritating companion, Lord Sheridan.
Lord Sheridan is a wealthy young man who has enjoyed the discovering of ancient mysteries, particularly those found by digging ancient things up: archaeology. Sheridan learns of the same treasure that Beth has been searching for due to finding that he has a distant relative tied to the infamous pirate and cannot help but get involved. Somehow Sheridan has gotten on Beth's bad graces, by acquiring a small piece tied to the pirate lore. What Lord Sheridan doesn't realize is that Beth cherished this small trinket because it was the last gift given to Beth by her mother before she died. Beth resents Sheridan and reminds him of it constantly; however, Sheridan can't help falling for her as he discovers her character and passion for adventure. Both work together to follow the cryptic clues while facing ever increasing dangers and threats. Can Beth and Sheridan find the treasure despite the dangers? Will they be able to find the treasure before their enemies? Will they discover the true treasures in life of faith, family, and love? Read To Treasure an Heiress to find out.

White does it again -- an interesting storyline, lots of historical details without overwhelming the reader, strong character development, and descriptive narrative, and faith elements that aren't preachy.
To Treasure an Heiress is another fantastic romp through the Isles of Scilly written by Roseanna M. White. In this story, we learn what happens next in Elizabeth Tremayne’s hunt for treasure left behind by 17th century pirates. Not only does she strive to find it before a ruthless rival treasure-hunter does, but she learns some life lessons along the way, and even falls in love.
I really loved this story! As usual with Roseanna’s books, I felt there was a great blend of romance, mystery, and history. Lord Sheridan has become one of my favorite heroes; I laughed out loud multiple times as I read the parts of the story told from his point of view. He’s such a likable character, and it is wonderful when Beth finally realizes this. Their romance is sweet. I also really enjoyed the lovely descriptions of the islands; this is a great read for when you want to travel somewhere but can’t. The mystery and suspense of the treasure hunt kept me guessing. I also enjoyed the secondary storyline of Senara and Ainsley, and the lessons Senara learned. This book is definitely on my list of favorites for the year, and I can’t wait for book 3!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publishers. I was not required to provide a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine alone.
DNF. Unfortunately the switching back and forth of nicknames and two people who are so similar, and new characters and old characters...oh my goodness I could not keep up with who was who. If this was a classic, I might want to put in the effort to decipher what was going on. But as this is just contemporary Christian romance, I really have to beg off and say that the author needs to write for the genre and make her plot and characters easier to follow. I was excited to continue with this series but unfortunately it's a no for me.
What new can I say about Roseanna White's writing? It's always wonderful to read her descriptions of smart and fun characters. The things they get into and how they find romance. Yes, I'm a life long fan! :)
Roseanna M. White excels in creating characters that I'd like to know, placing them in exciting adventures that I'll never have, and then, making me believe that it's all possible. I was sure, after reading The Nature of a Lady, that White couldn't possibly write another book that I would enjoy more. Wrong! I was so very wrong, because this second book in the Secrets of the Isles series is filled with mystery, danger, and adventure, and I absolutely loved it! I also adored the romance between Beth Tremaine and Lord Sheridan. She's full of spirit and wants nothing to do with him, but he finds her irresistible, and he's willing to admit it. He is funny and charming, and this unlikely pair soon realizes a special connection that is stronger and deeper than just searching for a lost pirate treasure.
To Treasure an Heiress is wonderful historical fiction with breathtaking romance, great supporting characters, a beautiful setting, and an inspiring faith message of forgiveness and redemption. It's a delightful read and I can't wait to learn more about Emily and Bram, two intriguing characters who deserve their own story.
I received a copy of this book from the author and publisher. There was no obligation for a favorable review. These are my own thoughts.
Beth Tremayne wants two things—to find lost pirate treasure, and to never see Lord Sheridan again. She's spent months tracking down clues to find the loot, and now who does this man think he is, trying to sweep in at the last moment and steal her prize?
Theo Howe, marquess of Sheridan, has always loved puzzles and unearthing beauty from centuries gone by. He might even be a distant relation of Prince Rupert of the Rhine, a prince who turned pirate. Tracking Rupert's treasure sounds like a lot of fun, especially with pretty Beth Tremayne driving him crazy along the way.
But Beth and Sheridan aren't the only ones looking for the treasure. And the more nefarious treasure seekers will stop at nothing to get their hands on Prince Rupert's lost bounty.
This novel is full of twists and turns. Fans who enjoy a good dose of suspense alongside their historical romance will find this story irresistible. For me, there were a few too many things to keep track of, though I still liked being along for the journey. Sheridan in particular makes an intriguing hero. He's far from the dashing paradigm for Edwardian leading men, but he's all the more lovable for it.
I hope you'll plan a literary trip to the Isles of Scilly to search for pirate treasure yourself. Like our characters, you might uncover some of life's real treasures along the way.
I received my copy of the book from the author. All thoughts in this review are my own.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It had adventure, pirates, hidden treasure, sacrifice and more. The characters are great. I love the family dynamics and how they support each other. I like the island location and hearing the island stories and legends. There are several poignant scenes where wise people are speaking grace and wisdom and mercy into another's life. It is beautiful.
But my favorite part of the book was Lord Sheridan. At the start Beth is furious with "Lord Arrogance Personified Sheridan" for "stealing" her trinket box. He, however, is dazzled by her and is always speaking to himself in his head about how long it will take for him to convince her to marry him or for her to convince him to marry her. "I'm going to hold out for at least a year after that stunt of hers. Maybe two. All right, six months. She'll have to work hard, though, to win me back" (location 2105). It was hysterical...especially since once in a while he said some of those things out loud in front of her. He had a great sense of humor and despite his high status treated everyone well. I hope to see him back in the next book.
Thank you to Bethany House for providing me with a free e-copy of this book. I'd highly recommend it. All opinions are my own.
