To Treasure an Heiress by Roseanna M. White is the second book in her Secret of the Isles series. Beth Tremayne loves a good adventure. After finding a map and some old letters she is sure that she is on the trail of her greatest adventure – pirate treasure! When danger comes calling, she must grudgingly accept the help of Lord Sheridan; a man she can’t abide. The story starts out with Beth being a brat. She eventually settles down to someone you can tolerate. Lord Sheridan on the other hand was awesome. I loved his sense of humor! There were some great side characters too. After a very slow start the story gained momentum about a hundred pages in and turned out be an interesting read.

I received this book from the author for my honest review.

"I treasured To Treasure an Heiress! Beth's hunt for a pirate's booty was fraught with danger and mystery. And a romance she didn't expect or desire.

Sheridan was one of my favorite heroes of all time. He was witty and charming. His sudden and strong attraction to Beth was so fun, especially how he was constantly calculating how many decades it would take to reverse her poor opinion of him - and how long he should wait to propose. And taking the slightest encouragement as proclamations of love. Oh, and the list he made for his sisters to prove to them why a ""mere island girl"" would be a good match for a marquess.

Not everything was fun and games, however. A lapse in judgment caused Senara guilt, shame, and the loss of her position. I loved how the author took this situation and turned it into an opportunity to share the grace and mercy found only in Christ. Roseanna M. White presents spiritual truths in illustrations that are beautiful and insightful.

Delightful characters, exciting mystery, and a breathtaking setting combine to produce this lovely historical romance that will delight its readers.

I love this amazing historical romance novel!

There is an incredible cast of characters in this book. They are so well developed, and have a very wide variety of personalities, that I was captivated getting to know them. My absolute favorite character is Mamm-wynn. She is wonderful. I enjoyed seeing how Beth and Sheridan interacted with each other. Their verbal sparing was very entertaining.

The treasure hunt kept my interest throughout the story. I had so much fun learning the style of research each person had. I loved finding out how all of the differences came together to answer the questions about Rupert, the pirate prince.

There is a lot of heart searching and discussion about God in this book. Many of the characters went through a period where their faith grew and matured. Each journey was as different as their personalities.

What an adventure in this book! Pirates treasure waiting to be found. We met Beth in book one of the series, and this book picks up where it left off. Lord Sheridan is back, along with the whole gang we met in book 1. The banter between Beth and Sheridan was fantastic! They learn they’ve got to work together if they have any chance finding the treasure. There are others who want it found too, adding a bit of mystery, danger and urgency! To Treasure an Heiress by Roseanna M. White is the second book in The Secrets of the Isles series and a definite must read if you love inspirational, historical romances with suspense and treasure hunting.
Beth is an adventure seeker so looking for a long lost treasure using old maps and letters she and her family have found on their property makes perfect sense however in doing so she finds herself searching alongside Lord Sheridan who she finds absolutely insufferable.
They soon come to find out that they are not only connected by their love for adventure, but also by long lost ancestors. However the greatest treasure they find is their feelings for one another.
I really enjoyed this story and look forward to reading more books in this series in the future.

I was given an ARC from the author/publisher. All conclusions are mine and mine alone.

I don't think I have ever been disappointed with a Roseanna M. White book. But this series is rapidly becoming one of my favorites with its treasure hunt, its setting, and its characters.

Sheridan and Beth are brilliant on the page. They have chemistry, sometimes the kind that causes an explosion, but they can't help but be drawn together. Well, Sheridan can't, even if Beth takes a little more convincing. The reader can see they are made for each other from early on in the novel, but Sheridan proves it over and over through his actions. He may have displaced Barclay as my favorite hero by this author. I'll have to reread both books to be sure.

This novel seemed to have a stronger spiritual thread, or maybe I was just paying closer attention throughout this story. The pearl analogy nearly moved me to tears and was an excellent reminder that God can heal any mistake, washing us just as white as a pearl with no remaining stain. I will carry that picture with me for a long time.

Sometimes the second novel in a series has a hard act to follow, certainly the case for The Secrets of the Isles, but White really exceeded my expectations for this book. I highly recommend it for those who enjoy historical romance with a dash of adventure, some mystery, and a fantastic plot that links it all together.

To Treasure an Heiress is an Inspirational romance with a lot of sweetness and humour. I loved the Isles of Scilly setting, and I liked the tenderness of the two central romantic relationships in this story, as well as the families at the centre of the book. I am also thoroughly enjoying the ongoing archeology / hunt for pirate treasure plot.
It seems a little unfair to complain about an Inspie being too preachy, but I do want to note that there was a lot more God-talk in this story than in The Nature of a Lady, and for me, it was rather too much. I also had a lot of opinions about the theology which probably don't belong in a review, but which definitely influenced my enjoyment of the book, sometimes for the better, sometimes not.
If you like Inspies with themes of kindness and forgiveness and adventurous plots, I think you will enjoy this. But read The Nature of a Lady first!

To Treasure an Heiress, by Roseanna M. White, is the second book in The Secrets of the Isles series. From beginning to end, this novel is captivating historical fiction! Strengthened by compelling characters, thoughtful insight, and meaningful themes, this novel offers a thrilling combination of history, mystery, suspense, danger, romance, and faith. These elements blend together beautifully to create a very special and touching story.

Throughout this novel, Ms. White uses her superb writing skills to craft a story that is altogether engaging and endearing. A varied cast of characters and a truly stunning plot make this book difficult to put down. Set on a chain of islands off the southwest coast of England more than a hundred years ago, this novel is filled with adventure, secrets, and legends that flow from a centuries old mystery waiting to be solved. The characters are unforgettable as they work together to decipher clues and determine friend from foe. They are genuinely interesting as they grapple with deep issues of faith, doubt, trust, truth, purpose, and forgiveness. As difficult decisions are made, loyalties are tested, and motivations are scrutinized, the characters themselves are inspiring and the story becomes more meaningful and moving.

Ms. White’s cleverly detailed and descriptive writing is beautifully displayed on every page of To Treasure an Heiress. It is an intriguing novel that is uplifting as well as entertaining. A worthy novel that deserves much praise, it was a true pleasure to read. I recommend it wholeheartedly.

I enjoyed Roseanna White's second jaunt to the Isles of Scilly with to Treasure an Heiress even more than the first book! We had a brief glimpse of Beth Tremayne and Sheridan in the Nature of a Lady, and they are the focus of this new story. Beth is determined to find a pirate treasure rumored to be buried in the islands, and archaeologist Sheridan (who falls for her immediately), is more than happy to help her search. First of all, Sheridan may be my favorite hero from all of White’s books (which is saying something.) His thoughts rapidly jump from one thing to the next, White’s descriptions projecting humor and wit. (“You should marry me, Beth, so our compasses can be friends,” is one of many internal thoughts that made me laugh.) Every single character in this book has a richly drawn story, and the way White writes their interactions is a treat. White’s books are practically in their own genre; I have never read anything set in the Scillies about archaeologists searching for a pirate prince’s treasure and family line! I can’t wait for the next book to see what happens with this delightful cast of characters.

*I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this book provided to me by the publisher. Any opinions expressed above are my own honest views.

The search for the treasure and history of Rupert & Briallen continues…

I truly enjoyed the sparks flying between Sheridan and Beth. Mix in the mystery, dangerous Scofield family and more of Mamm-Wynn! You won’t be able to put this down. I cannot wait to get my hands on the next book in the series!

I received a complimentary ARC of this book from NetGalley on behalf of the Publisher and was under no obligation to post a favorable review.

"Sheridan had never had a rival. It would keep life interesting. Perhaps he should invest in one sometime, just for the experience. Maybe he could convince Telford to act the part, though he had no idea what they'd be competing for."

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is a prime example of why this book is amazing. Sheridan, one of the three main characters, was hysterical. This man plotted to win his crush (of about a week when the story begins) by wooing her along the lines of what worked for Mr. Darcy. This quickly falls short, though, because while Beth and Elizabeth are remarkably similar in personality, Sheridan and Darcy are not (also Beth was completely unimpressed by his family home). Subsequently, he kept a running estimate of how long it would take for him to convince Beth to marry him (or for her to convince him - long story). For example, it started at ten years since she highly disliked him at the start, but didn't immediately tell him to leave her presence. Then, when she looked at him as though he was, "more than a . . . dunderhead," he immediately reduced it to eight years, and so on and so fort. Plus he composed the most ridiculous proposals and I was completely there for it. He is such a flirt in the most innocent, subconscious, and oblivious way possible.

Anyways, between all of the characters, I laughed harder than I have in a while. They were all beautifully well crafted, I kinda want a Mamm-wynn and/or Millicent and Abbie, and the adventure of searching for pirate treasure was great. Also I loved learning about the Isles of Scilly, which I definitely did not know existed prior to this book. They have such a fascinating history and culture, and I loved how much that came out through this story.

I have read countless pieces of Christian historical fiction over the years, and yet Roseanna's books always stand out in my memory and are always an absolute delight to read.

A sweet tale of islands and the sea, pirates and buried treasure. It was a pleasant surprise to have the dashing (or was that dastardly?!) hero be the source of comic relief. The heroine was, of course, headstrong and impulsive, with a penchant for sailing and adventure. But throughout the daring (and sometimes dangerous) escapades, there was a refreshing theme of commitment to family and friendship.

I look forward to going back and reading Libby and Oliver's story, now that I realized I read the second book first!

This book was amazing, to say the least!
Sigh! Oh gosh, I’m in love with Sheridan! I definitely wouldn’t think I would say that when I read the first installment of “The Secrets of the Isles” Series. But getting to know him in this book totally changed my mind about him. And I loved the enemies to lover´s trope. I always love how a person can change the opinion of another in like 180 degrees just by spending time and getting to know him/her, and by having one goal in common!

This is 1906 and the book continues where the first one left. Even if you can read it as a standalone, there is so much you will miss if you don’t read the first one, I think. Especially in the character development part. There are many wonderful side characters to love!
Elizabeth -Beth- Tremayne has an adventurous spirit. So different from her older brother Ollie, the vicar in the Isles of Scilly. On the first book, she discovers an old collection of letters from a Pirate Prince, and a map buried on her grandfather’s property. She contacts a person that betrays her and puts her life and that of her family in danger.
Marquess Lord Theodore Sheridan, commonly going by just “Sheridan” is an antique collector and lover. He has a vast estate in mainland (I love how they express like that of Great Britain). And he definitely loves adventures too -that’s one thing in common with Beth- so he initially travels to the Isles of Scilly with the Earl of Telford, his best friend, to visit Telford’s sister, Libby, who happens to be his own fiancée, or so he thinks, who is vacationing in the Isles, where her brother suspects something is strangely afoot. There, he not only discovers he is no longer, or never was, engaged to Libby, but also that Beth Tremayne was the original owner of his latest antique acquisition -paid for-, a small trunk with Pirate Prince Rupert’s crest on it, and he just happens to be a long-distance descendant of the said Pirate Prince. He wants to discover everything about this ancestor of his. But for Beth, he’s nothing but a thief, because she never meant to sell it, she was betrayed by her friend’s family. But circumstances -we may as well say Providence-, and maybe a strong interest in finding clues to the Pirate’s lost treasure, throws them together in this dangerous search, and the sparks that fly are not one sided for sure. Adventure awaits them, but is the treasure worth everything, even risking the strong love that’s surging in their hearts?
The plot was amazing, it kept my interest from page one until the end, with such twists and turns, the unsolved mystery, the danger… The best of all were definitely the characters, main and secondary, but I’ll concentrate on the main. Sheridan was so much fun and naïve, a bit clumsy with words, but he was so endearing, I fell fast for him. Beth is quick witted and strong minded, and I loved their verbal spars. They made me smile. The romance was clean, enemies to lovers (well enemies only on Beth’s side), and I loved how Sheridan’s big heart won Beth over and melted her defenses as they got to really know each other as they are. The historical part was so detailed and masterfully narrated, it felt so real. The different expressions of the islanders. My best endearment word is now “dearovim”, I love that! And also, the faith inspired message of a Loving God who cares about you and your destiny, including your miseries, mistakes and all, and to learn to trust Him, even when things become almost impossible. The need to forgive and being forgiven. The value of true love against anything else, especially wordly treasures. So many things!
It was a fantastic book I can’t recommend highly enough! It made me feel as if I was inside the story, loving each character and suffering with their struggles and trials. I’m in love with this series! Can’t wait for the next book! Senara’s story? Hopefully…

Okay, so this is only my second Roseanna M. White book and I’m quite simply wondering why?!?! Her writing is immersive, sumptuous and gripping! The world she creates springs to life before your eyes and keeps you completely engaged - even when not a lot is happening. Not that there are many slow moments! And the characters are phenomenal!

This is the second book in The Secrets of the Isles series and as much as I loved the first, this one blows it out of the park!!! Sheridan is such a great character! And I loved the dynamic between him and Beth. And his sisters…! 😂😂😂

I love it when a sequel takes your preconceptions of a character and turns them on their head, and Roseanna does that so well in this book! Cannot recommend it enough! Aside from the brilliant characters, there’s a vibrant historical setting, and a suspenseful hunt for - what else? - pirate treasure!

This book truly combines the best of all of my favourite genres! All of the love for this one!

Thanks @bethanyhousefiction and @netgalley for the ARC, I was only required to provide an honest review in return.

Pirate gold, ancient ruins, mysterious folklore, dastardly villains, an adoring hero, and a treasure hunt are all combined into one enchanting book that I absolutely adored. The treasure hunt continues in To Treasure an Heiress, which is the second installment in The Secrets of the Isles series by Roseanna M. White. I thought the first book was excellent and I loved it, but I think I enjoyed this second book even more! Lord Sheridan is the hero of the tale and is intellectual yet hilarious with a wonderfully entertaining personality. Oh, how I laughed out loud while reading because of Lord Sheridan’s sense of humor! Better yet, he adores the heroine Beth Tremayne and is so protective of her that it makes you want to swoon! The book’s plot is action-packed with plenty of rescues and mysteries to keep the reader riveted until the very end. I wholeheartedly give this amazing book five stars, and I cannot wait for the next installment in the series!
I received a copy of this book from the publisher for promotion purposes. My review is honest and reflects my own thoughts. I really did love it!

I haven't met a Roseanna M. White story I haven't loved. So far, though, Phillip Camden has been my favorite leading man of hers. That is until now. Now, Sheridan, aka Nefarious Marquess of SheriDoom, aka Lord Arrogance Personified Sheridan, and the list goes on. Oh my gosh, I'm not sure I've ever laughed in one of her stories so much! The way the author wrote what was going on inside his head was hysterical and seriously MADE the story. Sheridan is hands down, one of my favorite male leads!

Ok, that being said, I thoroughly enjoyed To Treasure an Heiress. Beth and Sheridan are a perfect complement for one another. Of course, Beth doesn't see it that way which makes their back and forth even better! The number of "highlights" I have because of their banter is very high.

While all of the characters were also in book one, I love them even more as a group in book two. They all work well together in all of the various aspects of the story. Beth is her usual adventurous self - getting into situations that she didn't mean to. I love how much Sheridan enjoys her spirit! And of course, I have to mention Sheridan's faith! While he realizes he has it, he also begins to understand that no one else realizes it. Such an important factor in our walk with Christ. Do others see Christ in us?

We also get to see Senara's struggle with sin's consequences. I always appreciate this about authors when they put in real life learning situations into their characters. None of us is too far gone to have our sins forgiven, but also that we need to ask for forgiveness as well. Ainsley, well, he's just a fine man! I adored his character fully! There's just something about this close-knit group of people that warms my heart.

Mama-wyn is once again my favorite in this story (next to Sheridan, of course). She is the grandma I still want to be. I feel in love with her in the first story and was so tickled that she is full force in this one as well. She's such an alive character in the story. I feel like if I could just reach out and grasp her she'd tell me what I needed to hear!

So, what do I need? I need Telford and Emily to have stories so that they can live happily ever after with their friends. That's what I need. :) I can't wait for book three!

I really enjoyed this story that continued what was started in The Nature of a Lady. It was great how it really focuses on Beth and Sheridan but you also see quite a bit of Libby and Oliver and the rest of the gang. If you fell in love with Mam-wynn before, you'll love her just as much now! I found Sheridan to be quite humorous and loved his little quips about proposing.

You definitely need to read The Nature of a Lady to understand what is going on in book 2 of this series. I'm so looking forward to book 3!

If you like your Christian Fiction with good mix of romance and adventure, I think you'll definitely fall in love with the Isle of Scilly and the whole family that you'll meet there!

Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review. All opinions are my own.

Filled with daring adventure, mystery, humor and romance, To Treasure an Heiress is everything that I could have hoped for and more.

Beth Tremayne has always been fascinated with the stories of treasure on her beloved isles, and she knows that the search for Mucknell's treasure is far from over. But with the search for treasure has come all sorts of trouble in the form of outsiders in pursuit of the same treasure, as well as a certain Lord Sheridan.

One of my very favorite books so far by this author, I loved Sheridan's whimsical optimism and pure heart, his chapters always brought a smile to my face. But it was Ainsley that was my favorite, and I hope to see more of him and Senara in the future as their story was one of my favorite parts of the book. I loved how Ainsley is so open about his faith, quick to offer comfort and wisdom, yet human himself he isn't immune to doubts.

Full of adventure and daring, I loved how the dynamic slowly changed between Beth and Sheridan as she begrudgingly lets him work with her, as well as their humorous banter. It was an absolute delight to be in Sheridan's head, he is a rare man indeed, childlike in some ways, yet so wise in others. One of my favorite scenes in the whole book was when he showed that he had been listening to Ainsley all along.

Overall, there was not one thing that I didn't love about this story, excellent plot, captivating characters that brought a smile to my face, high adventure, dear Mamm-wynn, a lovely comedic touch, and thoughtfully rendered messages of faith. Beth is a daring heroine, but even she needs help sometimes. And I just wanted to give Senara a hug to help her through everything on her mind. You will not want to miss this fantastic new favorite from Roseanna M. White, it is a five start read all the way through!

What a fun story! Sheridan cracked me up throughout the story, he was hilarious! The humor of this book was definitely my favorite thing about the story. The mystery element was exciting and picked up nicely where book 1 in this series leaves off. A lovely and enjoyable read!

I received a copy of this book from the publisher and also purchased my own Audible copy. I was not required to post a positive review. All thoughts are my own.

I struggled to fully slip into this story, honestly (not usually a struggle with Roseanna’s titles!) BUT loved the treasure hunt / mystery and how it all came together. Honestly Sheridan’s humor struck me more as a sidekick quality so I wasn’t entirely sure what to make of him at first but his adoration for Beth won me over. THEN Sanara’s storyline stole the day for me. I loved that secondary plot thread!!

Can’t wait to see how the story ends in Book Three with Bram and Emily!
