*Your Money, Your Way* by Kumiko Love is a refreshing, accessible approach to personal finance that feels like a supportive conversation with a friend. Love's writing style is warm and inviting, making what could otherwise be a daunting topic feel approachable. She offers practical, down-to-earth advice that empowers readers to take control of their financial well-being without feeling overwhelmed or judged. Whether you're looking to tackle debt, build savings, or simply become more mindful of your spending, Love provides actionable steps and clear guidance that inspire confidence. As someone who’s been a fan of The Budget Mom for years, this book feels like a natural extension of the compassionate, non-judgmental approach to money management that I’ve come to admire.

The book stands out for its ability to break down complex financial concepts into manageable, relatable chunks, which makes it feel like a personal finance toolkit rather than a dense textbook. Kimiko’s friendly tone ensures that even readers who may have previously felt intimidated by budgeting or money management can begin to engage with their finances in a meaningful way. I’m incredibly grateful to NetGalley and Portfolio Penguin for the advanced reader copy—this book has been a game-changer in how I approach my money, and I believe it will resonate with anyone looking to build a healthier relationship with their finances.

My Money My Way was an easy read. Kumiko Love shares her journey, and others, journey to financial freedom. I am probably biased, as I’ve followed her for the past year and use her system (a lot of which I was already doing before I stumbled across her) but it just makes sense to me. I have read other financial/budget gurus and I don’t connect to them or agree with their philosophies. Love’s philosophy aligns with my own. I would recommend the book, her website, and youtube.

I have really enjoyed following Kumiko’s journey on social media. Her method of tracking and planning money really works. The part I found most helpful is giving your money a job and saving to spend. This book is going to help a lot of people.

I have read a few budgeting books over the past few years, but this one was the most relevant to my life. No money shaming here! Great tips to help you with your financial journey. Miko is so like able and down to earth. She has free resources on her website that are referenced in the book to help you as you are getting your budget started. Strongly recommend this book and can’t wait to listen to the audiobook as well!
